12.17.09 Winter event going on here!
11.22.09 Kae has given Darkmoon Dancer the upgrade to a colorist, and so is now capable of holding events, customs, etc, in addition to doing breedings. She has also been given permission to take on any recolors that owners would like. If you are interested in that, see page 2686 for more information.
6.06.09 Please welcome Darkmoon Dancer to the staff! She will be our resident lineart editor (and breeder!) other than Kaelyndra. As well, Shikamaru Sylivant is now a colorist and she too is here to help us with breedings. Lastly, to help all the artists out, please give a warm welcome to BlackFireKitsune; she has taken the staff title known as certifying pets for all the busy colorists. She also sets up journals when Kae can bother her to do them for her.

Speaking of, event stuff is being done as quickly as possible. Thank you everyone for being so patient with me!
2.13.09 1: We are now on the new journal system if you did not see TawnyAngel's announcement much earlier in the January month. Tawny went through and changed all of the journals for me, so be very thankful for him. On this new system, magic status will be given out when skill points reach 100. Base stats are what is listed below the Nequus and are their main 'fighting' talents. Skill points represent what practice would do in a real world situation. I will be retyping the journal information at some point soon, but for now it is slightly out of date.

2: All information for the certing of your Nequus should now be posted here. This makes it much easier for organization. Thanks. Those waiting on certs, please wait until I post this latest batch of them to make sure yours is/isn't in it before you start throwing in requests. Thank you.

3: Noyama is running events at her liesure for an undisclosed portion of time. There is no set time nor set amount for these to occur (or end) so you'll simply have to hang around the shop and keep your eyes peeled.

Also, with the winter even coming to a close, I'll be starting to open SS packages, which means the boxes will break open and it will be time for you to post that essential information. I'll be doing them in sets, getting groups certed all at once before moving onto the next set. If you want a picture with your SS box, it will be an extra 1K, instead of the traditional free price. This is because of all the things I have to cert, so the background pictures willl be hard to keep track of. This little rule will drop once I get all the SS certified.

Basic
1. Do not steal the art.
2. No stealing and no begging.
3. Follow all Gaia rules.
4. Read everything before ordering or making unnecessary comments.
5. No chat speak, your post will be ignored until you feel you have enough time to write out the words.
6. Be courteous of others, this means no noob bashing, no arguing and please keep swearing to a minimum.
7. The staff are the law, don?t argue or you?ll be blacklisted
8. Co-owning will be allowed, up to two people.

Flat Sale Rules
1. Flat Sale Nequus will start at 5k.
2. Do not whine if you don't win? just try again next time.

5. You can get one for someone else, but make sure to let us know beforehand.

What Is a Nequus?
Nequus are creatures with features that are that of a horse with wings. The most known breed of Nequus is the Bae which has wings that are similar to a butterflies. Though unlike that of a horse, they form from fruit. Nequus are measured in hands (4 in = 1 hand), and will usually range between 13h to 16h.

How can I get a Nequus?
You can get a Nequus through Flat Sales, Raffles, Auctions, Events, and Breeding.

Will you give me one?
I don't give when someone asks, though under some circumstances (Birthdays, or someone thats done something for me), I may give one out.

How much do Nequus go for in flat sales?
Nequus are 5k each

How long does it take for Nequus to grow?
Each stage takes around two weeks.

What are the other kinds of Nequus?
In the future the other breeds of Nequus; Jala with Feathered wings, Aeri with Bat wings, Ichsa with a horn and feathered wings, and Raya with a horn and bat like wings will become available.

Do I have to RP my Nequus?
No, you don't, but as you RP your Nequus you have chances of getting more fruit from a breeding, or benifit in other ways. *shifty eyes*

How do I breed my Nequus?
Go to the second page of the thread and look under breeding.

Can they speak?
Nequus speak to one another, and can understand humans, but humans can not understand the actual Nequus lanuage.

Is there a limit to the amount of them I can own?
There is no limit, but we ask that you only try for one Nequus per flat. Also to always think of others, and to not be too greedy.

Can Nequus be Co-owned?
Co-owning is a maximum of two.

Where do I send my information to get my Nequus certified and what do I need to send?
Go to this thread in the guild to post your certification information; everything that you need to include is listed there.

All worlds must start somewhere, and the formation of this one contains its own unique aspect possessed by no other of its time. This planet was simply a blank space on the map of time. It existed, but it was not used, simply discarded as nothing, tossed among the overseers like a old and crumpled idea. It is apparent to you then, that it was discovered by a single deity, one of speech and wisdom, and five others quickly found a purpose for this hallowed land. They all tried and failed, several times, to make things grow on the planet, but, as with every beginning, five wanted all the power for themselves and none for the other. Each used whatever they could to sabotage the others attempts at life. So for hundreds of years nothing grew, the planet came near to disrepair when the sixth knew that something must be done to somehow unite the five in conflict.

He left the heavens to come down the Nequus was world below. What he saw there was a place so littered with rubble disease and death it was unfathomable to think anything to grow there. Yet the wise Spirit had a trick up his sleeve. He carefully worked his magic together, weaving it finer and finer until at last in his palm rested one small seed. He pinched it in between his forefinger and thumb, raising it up to the light to examine it. Of course, he wasn?t the only one watching. Intrigued by this display one of the five in question broke away from the others to investigate what the Spirit was doing. It was Jala, come down from the earth to question just what this was.

"Brother, what is that?" she questioned him, her face pale with worry. So far the spirit had done nothing as of yet to interfere or to make his own life upon the world, but here he was with the seed. "Come back with me," she turned away and motioned for him to follow with a wave of her hand. "Do not play petty games with a seed that cannot grow.? The Spirit simply smiled and shook his head.

"I cannot go back, I have released that power into the seed," he stated, turning the seed in his fingers. Jala stopped, absolutely shocked. He could no longer return to the god lands, his immortality was essentially wiped from his soul. The Spirit would surely perish on this barren landscape without food or water. "You'll DIE!" she screamed, wheeling back around on him. She was the goddess of the day, bringing light to the world with sun. She never lied, she could not lie even if she wanted, and her heart ached for his loss.

"I will, unless you can make this seed live," he continued, remaining calm. Jala took a deep breath and tried to calm herself.

"How?" she breathed.

"By giving up your godhood, as I have done. Only then will life grow and allow me to live."

Jala nodded, she understood, the Spirit had her within his weave, but the others wouldn't be so easy to convince. A cackle echoed from behind them just as Jala reached her fingers out for the soft seed. The godess of death had arrived. "Smart boy, Spirit. Smart indeed. You plan to be rid of us, don't you? You haven't given up your powers at all!" she hissed coming over to stand beside Jala. "Don't do it, dearest." She slid her hand down the day goddess' arm and gently pulled the others hand away. "He may be your brother, but he is not mine and I say we leave him to die. If he tells the truth, then so be it, but if he lies he'll come running back up to the god world with his tail between his legs." Jala's eyes shifted towards Reya's and then back towards the seed. She couldn't decide what to do, and didn't have too for the commotion had brought the remaining three bickering gods to pass.

"Get away from her Reya," a softened voice called, anger hidden in its sweet tone. It came from Ichsa, the god of love and fertility. He held a certain anger towards Reya always, mostly in worry for Jala, whom he felt he needed to protect.

"Its alright Ichsa, she's not harming anything," she called out, pulling her hand back from Reya's grasp.

"Well if it isn't the trio of troublemakers," Reya hissed, stepping away from the Spirit and Jala to make her rounds about the three. Bae, the god of life scoffed at the frail menace. He never had liked any of the gods and their bickering, all he did was try and raise a small seed from the earth. The male next to him watched them all from darkened eyes. He spoke little and had no need to. He was the god of the night and he kept as many secrets hidden within him as he could. This was all just another folly the other gods got themselves into. While they argued amongst themselves he stepped forward to address the Spirit.

"What is that?" he questioned of the seed. So the Spirit told him. Raising an eyebrow the darkened male shrugged and closed his eyes, taking the seed between his own forefinger and thumb. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get away from those four anyway," he muttered under his breath as a thick humming filled the air. The seed slipped from his fingers and began to rise, being spun in a wave of thick black mist. The humming grew louder and louder, drowning out the others voices, the seed spun higher and higher until it suddenly ceased and fell towards the earth. Alerted at the sudden stop of magic Jala leapt outwards and caught the seed, much to the digust of Ichsa. She looked upwards into Aeri's thick golden eyes and he nodded once to her. He kissed her lightly on the forhead and then took his leave, "Goodbye." He began walking and did not stop to look back at any of them. "Make the right choice." She nodded as he walked away, still looking at the seed that lay cupped in her hands. "Jala don?t be a fool!" Reya hissed, glaring at Ichsa as if to blame it on him. Ichsa, however, was no less appeased by this happenings.

"You'll die Jala! Aeri is a fool. I won't let you be!" Ichsa stepped forwards to try and remove the seed from her hands. Jala furrowed her brows and showed the first bit of anger she had since her childhood. Then came sudden blinding light, followed by a streak of blue. The gods shielded their eyes, Ichsa cursing for he had received the brunt of it. Jala had vanished, but the seed lay floating in the air for the next person to pick it up. Reya choked on her words, her mouth slightly agape. She quickly shut it and went to attack Ichsa with vengeance.

Ichsa thought quickly and held up a hand to make her stop, grasping the seed with the other. The transfer of magic was subtle, one could hardly notice it, but they all did, and so Ichsa, too, gave up his right of passage. Reya was red hot with anger. She couldn't lay a finger on the male for fear of the ancient rules. He had no powers against her, she had to accept what he had done and let him pass. Muttering to herself she wheeled on Bae, who merely gave her a solemn look and took the seed from Ichsa as he passed. "Might as well righ?" he said gruffly. The seed seemed jumped and glowed green, seeming to get larger with each beat. It grew and grew until it seemed as large as the gods themselves, then simply faded back into its original state as if nothing had happened before.

Reya huffed and turned on her heal. "I will not perish like the rest of you," she stated flatly and snapped her fingers, vanishing in a ploom of smoke. The Spirit let out a sigh, knowing his plan had failed, when the seed began to glow red. A smile curled at the edge of his lips and he bent down towards the soil. A cold voice echoed in his mind. "I do it for Jala, and no other. Not for you. Make sure you remember that." The Spirit nodded and dug into the dirt, placing the seed gently inside before covering it with soil.

"Grow well my friend," he whispered to it, and then he, too, turned to go.

For centuries the tree grew from sapling to proud golden leaved oak. It grew to a gargantuan size, but still no fruit touched its bows. The gods returned to watch it, each at different times. Looking to see who might have the most influence and so be granted the right of passage back to the world of the gods. Life had flourished on the lands since each of their sacrifices. The gods had lived and some had prospered, others taken a harder course in life. They grew anxious, wondering just where the fruit was, when one day the Spirit addressed the five of them with a basket. Upon peering inside they found five fruits, one for each of them. These five fruits were themselves, and they each contained the same amount of influence as the other. None would be returning to the world above.

There were some complaints passed around, but soon the fruits within the basket began to stir. They began to bounce and wiggle, cracks began to appear. The Spirit put the basket down, finding it much too heavy to keep holding. Finally they cracked fully open to reveal what was moving inside. Before them, five horse like creatures shivered in the cold. Bae quickly dampened the ground, with the help of Jala and Ichsa, he caused grass to grow beneath them. Jala warmed the air, as Reya and Aeri remained silent.

"Do you see what working together has produced? You have finally created the life you have been working to hard for. . ." The Spirit sat down next to the young foals, petting them with a kind hand. "You have your first creatures to inhabit your world.I gave the seed, and with all your cooperation, you have created Nequus."

You may RP in the guild now, but keep in mind changes will undergo often and if you find yourself locked out of somewhere it is for a reason.

Through Roleplay and a holding a Journal You can get special titles for your Nequus and custom lineart! The titles are as follows.

Mistweavers

These daring Nequus are the only known Nequus to ever traverse through the Mountains of Casa Tiner and come out alive. They are said to have a special magic that the forest sides with, allowing them to know their position at all times. Legends say they weave their own mist as they walk, hence the name mistweaver, and spent most of their life in the dark forests at Casa Tiner's base keeping the area thick with steam.

Shamans

The healers of the Nequus they have a tendency to be wise, but not always. They posses healing magic and special knowledge of herbs that no other Nequus know of. Recovery times for Shaman's tend to be much faster, though control is often rabid making them drain quickly.

Speakers

These are the true creatures of legend. It is said that these Nequus can talk to the dead. That's right, those that have passed and are no longer living. It is said that at times they can travel to the spirit world, killing themselves off and living only as a Spirit, travelling wherever they please. All Speakers are completely blind, they cannot see a thing. One of the side effects of becomming a Speaker is slowly losing their sight. They use the long dead spirits to guide them on their pathways.

Seers

No they can't predict the future, however they do have the ability to read minds and have an accute sense of wisdom. Often times they are blind, which has given them this insight into others.

Illusionists

Similar to Seers only in the area of the mind. These Nequus can warp the world around us to seem something it is not. They can create illusions so real in another's mind that the difference cannot be discerned. The advanced of these can create whole landscapes in front of another's eyes.

Elementals

Little to nothing is known about Elementals. They are Nequus who hold a particular link to a certain thing. For example, one may hold a link to the water. They can hear the water speak, it can guide them. Another may link to wind, another the trees. Very little is really truly sure about the Elementals, but they do exist, though very rare.

Rarity: Bae are the most widely seen of the Nequus. They seem to have no specific time of day and wander around as they please, where they please.
Personality: Bae tend to be very emotional. They can be a very angry breed, or a very bubbly and extatic breed. They near all have a lot of energy and spend their time flitting about. However, they do posses a soft, calm, side that they display quite often at night, looking quite elegant despite their stocky short side. They are only mildly mischevious and choose to do their work in solitude. As well they are very proud of their breed and some will not even socialize with those of other races for they are convinced that they are the best.
Appearance: Bae are short, and stockily build. They are very muscular, fit, and thick boned. Named after the god of earth, they are usually around 13 to 15 hands. It is most common to see them around such heights as 14 hands, though not uncommon for them to be less. It is much rarer to see Nequus at 15 hands and anything over is unheard of anywhere.
Males: Males are the larger of the two, unlike most of the other Nequus breeds. They tend to have a much more fiercea and quiet nature than the females and are more likely to feel the Bae pride than the opposite gender.
Females: Females are not as stocky as the males, they tend to be a little more refined and better natured. Most females are more willing to accept the other race, though this is not the case necessarilly all the time. Female Bae are possibly the most protective of their offspring, becomming viciously quick fighters when their brood is threatened.

Rarity: Jala are a little less common than the Bae, though they are still seen quite often, though they are spotted during the day. Jala are hardly ever seen at night, though a few will have a daring side.
Personality: Jala are definately not pushoevers. They tend to be high sprung and their emotions vary amazingly. They tend to be a very proud breed and don't take crap from anyone, quick to defend, and attack for that matter. Appearance: Jala are fiarly thinly built. They have a certain muscular structure to them that shows power, but upon looking at them you can tell that they are not a stocky breed by any kind. They posess large and long feathered wings that can take them through flight. They are well known for their skill at flying and tend to be the most agile of the breeds. They can be fairly tall, though most tend to be on the shorter side. They range from 15 hands to 17 hands. Typically you'll see them around 15 3/4 Hands or a little less, sometimes up to 16 hands. Any taller and its much rarer, though not unheard of. Anything 16 1/2 hands and over is extremely hard to come by, and it is hardly ever seen in the Nequus world.
Males: Males tend to be shorter than females, and believe it or not, a little calmer. They tend to be less harsh, at least at first impression, and some can be found to be a bit shy. Once you get to know them they lighten up. They are also very proud of their heritage and that pride can get in the way of their kindness sometimes.
Females: Don't make them angry or you'll regret it. Female Jala are quick to temper and quick to lash out. They aren't necessarilly proud of their heritage, but they are haughty. When it comes down to it, though, they are very good mothers, very calm and tolerant of their children and generally teaching them good manners.

Rarity: It is a common myth that the Aeri are rare. In fact is is just the opposite. They are quite common, not as much as the Bae, but still, fairly common. However, they hardly ever come out during the day, though some will, liking their night time aura that was given to them after the night god. Since most come out during the daylight hours, they are not see as much, so said to be rarer.
Personality: The Aeri, prior to popular belief, are a very calm and understanding race. They tend not to get wound easily and will be very quiet and understanding of all. They hold hardly any pride in their race, and tend to be soft natured and willing to help and to work.
Appearance: The Aeri are a huge, but gentle natured breed. Their large bat wings just barely propell their massive and thick muslced bodies through the air. Height ranges from around 17 Hands to 19 Hands. It isn't unheard of for a horse to be even a slight bit taller than 19, though it is still very rare. Most range around the 17 1/2 to 18 Hand area, though there are a few taller ones out there. They have a thick and big boned structure, almost a stocky build, and tend to be a bit slower in their movements, though their long powerful strides make up for it.
Males: There is a large gap in sizes of these horses. Males tend to be much smaller than females and the more rambonxious of the group. While females may hold their composure, males are more likely to break it and get angry, though that is even a hard task with this breed. Young males tend to be haughty, not yet gaining the special soft nature of adulthood.
Females: The females are the calmest of all the Nequus. They have truly soft understanding hearts and sweet natures. They tend to be much slower moving, not really caring about the passing of time, but doing what they want, when they want just because.

Rarity: The Ichsa are perhaps the rarest of the five breeds. Mostly because of their stupidity. They tend not to be the brightest of creatures, and unkowingly arrogant. They are seen mostly during the daylight hours, though at times you can catch a glimpse of them prowling about at night.
Personality: The Ichsa are possibly the most verocious, arrogant, and blunt of any of the Nequus breeds. They tend to hold true to Nequus customs to the fullest, wishing for large families - mostly for bragging rights. Both genders hardly ever yell, though they have very distinct strong voices that often gives other the opinion they are indeed shouting.
Appearance: They aren't the tallest of the Nequus, being full in size with the Aeri, but their bodies are a mystical combination of long and thin pieces. Their wings are especially reflective of this, being long and elegant in their very nature. The Ichsa's extremely long legs and thin body complexion makes up most of their height. They range from 14 to 16 hands, and hardly ever more. Naturally, they tend to be the sprinters of the Nequus race, capable of taking longer strides than even most of the Aeri, though their flight capabilities are somewhat more elegant than quick. While you shouldn't challenge them to a foot race, if you can get them to, a flying race is your best bet for a win.
Males: These Nequus define pride. They believe everything should go their way - and it often does. They are quite muscular, and because they are so agile, tend to do well in fights. For this reason they take what they want, when they want it, without care for what the other Nequus think. Their choices may not be the best, but to them they are perfect and they expect everyone else to think so as well.
Females: Females are far less agressive than males. They don't see the point of getting themselves injured for some petty thing, so they'll often send the males to fetch it for them. The most greedy of the Nequus, they tend to be very possessive, but won't tell you such things until they've got you locked between a rock and a hard place. They have more of a range in mind potential. Some being sneaky if it gets them what they want, and others foolishly and happily dumb.

Rarity: Reya are more common than Ichsa, but are thought to be much more rare than the other breeds. This might be entitled to their overwhelming nature to avoid others and their strange practices. Most of the Nequus regard them as strange and tend to stay away, for reasons mostly their own.
Personality: Reya are a very secretive breed. For this reason you'll see them out and about mostly at night, doing whatever they wish without grumbles from the others. They tend to be very sneaky, and quite seductive - holding the finest brains of all the Nequus. They will weave intricate plots to get what they want, but when it all boils down to it they are extremely loyal. Reya tend to stick within their own race, though if they do take another, it tends to be of the Jala breed. The humans marvel that perhaps it is the old blood of Reya running in their veins that makes them lust for Jala, but nothing is certain. In any case, the Reya tend to be proud about the two races, not necessarily seeing the others as worthless, but simply not as adept and to be avoided.
Appearance: Very similar in height to the Ichsa, the Reya tend to be 14 to 16 hands high. Their bodies are far more muscular, however, and they tend to be a longer distance runner. Reya are still very thin in complexion, and are also legends in battles along with the Ichsa. The two breeds hardly ever cross, but when they do, the Ichsa see it as an accomplishment and the Reya as a failure.
Males: Males are eternally devoted to their female counterparts. It takes them years and years to ever rach a liking for one, but once they do they hardly ever leave them - seeking to please them in every way. They are extremely protective of their daughters, regarding them as the stronger of the two in the race. Sons are regarded as growing up to protect the family, and they have to fight for a their own as they get older, typically rebelling against the father to start their own families. Arranged partners are common amongst the Reya because of their pride, but the males are extremely picky and tend to let their daughters choose amongst males he deems adequate.
Females: This is possibly the strangest side of the Nequus breeds. FEmales tend to be the most calculating and deceptive. They won't stop for many and like to lead males on with tender ferocity. They have wild spirits that most cannot tame and the majority tend to be bisexual. Once they find something they want they will stop at nothing to get it, finding any means possible from which to have it. In most cases, this tends to be a particular male or female they seek after, and they won't necessarily be wholly loyal to them, either. As a general rule, they are more likely to take in Jala than the male side, though a few have been known to mate with Ichsa merely to anger their family.

If you obtain a Nequus via any of these, please post the required information here so they can be certified. (The thread mentions everything you need to include.)

Flat Sales
Flat Sales are the most common way to get Nequus at this time.

Flat Sale Types
1. Ripe Fruit: Make a random image link that goes to numbered green and red fruit. Green fruits aren't ripe, while red fruits are, though both have numbers. Copy the image link for a numbered red fruit and that's the order you go in.
2. Roleplay: A RP prompt will be posted at the FS starting time at which point everyone participating gets 15-60 minutes (depending on what we feel like doing) to write up a post and submit it after we say go. Judging will occur after the deadline for entries has been reached and a verdict will be come by at around 30 minutes after the initial start. Winners will be chosen in order of whose we thought best and they will pick their Nequus in order of choosing.
3. Speed: Just a normal speed flat where the first one to post gets it, ect.

Flat Sale Rules
1. Flat Sale Nequus will start at 5k.
2. Do not whine if you don't win, just try again next time.
3. Be kind to others and do not guilt trip anyone out of trying
4. Only one per person, per post.
5. You can get one for someone else, but make sure to let us know beforehand.
6. Payment is due ASAP after the sale. If in 24 hours the trade isn't confirmed the pet goes up for sale again.
7. These are not RP required.

Active Flat Sales

There is an FS scheduled for the month of March. It will most likely be a Flaffle, with one of each type of Nequus.

Auctions
Auctions start at 5k for a Nequus. They usually last a week, although some could last longer. The minimum increase bid is 1k and the autobuy is not available at this time. Also, every bid made close to the ending time has a grace period of 30 minutes.
