Name: Firdos (pronounced "Fear-dous"wink Age: Unknown Gender: Male Appearance: He has the body of a leopard, but a mane down his neck that's from his hyena genes. The end of his long tail, his paws, his ears, and his muzzle down to his stomach are all a light black hue, but his body has a mixture of leopard and hyena spots. His eyes are a yellow-green color, and his nose is a dark pink. Cross: A Leopard and Spotted Hyena. Perks: Peeves: Color:#555452
A beautiful, pearly white form fluttered gently in the breeze. Beady, little eyes searched the air, as it flew through the air. Suddenly, the strangest sound made the bird shudder. Curiosity overtook it, and the dove slowly soared to the ground. Its wings beat heavily, as it plopped into a cluster of leaves. Peering around at its surroundings, the bird caught sight of something. A bundle of blankets? No, there was something moving within them. The dove was so perplexed by the sight that it hadn't noticed the shadowy figure moving towards it.
"Grawr!" The hybrid's paws landed roughly on both sides of the bird, though his eyes watched as it immediately flew away. Suddenly, he rolled over onto his back, and a gruff, yet somehow high-pitched, laugh escaped from his maw. Firdos was the hybrid's name - playing tricks was his game. He's never taken anything seriously, which was probably the reason why he hadn't noticed what the bird was looking at. At least, not until he stopped laughing. As Firdos stood back up, the bundle started to fuss once more.
The hybrid stared blankly at the form, before stepping forward to have a closer look. His paw slowly unraveled the blankets, simply to find that it was a human child. How... odd. Shrugging, Firdos decided to just leave it where it was. It wasn't his to take care of, so why should he care at all?
However, as he turned his body to leave, the child's eyes snapped open. Such piercing yellow eyes.... Firdos was frozen to the ground. The baby wasn't crying anymore, and, as such, it actually seemed quite serious for someone so small. The hybrid's mouth formed into a sly smirk. "Grawr!" Firdos has pulled the same trick as before, but instead of flinching or running away, the boy started laughing. Firdos' ear cocked to the side as he watched. "Well, I guess you're kind of cute."
As if in response, the child reached over and latched himself onto Firdos' paw. The hybrid couldn't help but smile, as the boy began to gnaw on one of his toes. Sure, it hurt, but it also seemed to show that the kid had a sense of humor. Here was someone who liked his sense of humor.
Firdos looked up at the setting sun, and then back down at the child. "It's getting pretty late, and I don't think anyone will be coming to get you." He nudged the boy off of his foot. "So, I guess you're just going to have to stick with me! For the time being, of course." After wrapping the child back into the blankets, Firdos gripped some of the cloth in his mouth, and started back on his way.
The hybrid was careful to keep the baby away from anything that could hurt him. Branches, bushes, rushing water... he avoided them completely. As he walked, the boy wriggled his hands out from the blanket, and grabbed onto Firdos' muzzle. He started to rub his fingers against his fur, and the hybrid let him. The baby's hands were so warm and soft... that, in truth, he rather liked the feeling.
By the time they reached Firdos' den, the boy had fallen asleep. Firdos gently set him onto the ground, and then curled around him. As he watched the child sleep, Firdos decided to think of a name for him. Only moments before they had met, his first intension was to just go home. However, a white bird in the sky had stopped him. Back then, he had planned to scare the bird, and then head home. He would never have even dreamed that he would come across a child. It was as if it were fate for them to meet. Fate... Smiling, Firdos nodded as he gazed down at the boy. "I'll call you Fayt."
8-14-06: Now that I'm finally getting off my butt and working on this, the journal will be undergoing a LOT of construction. Meaning, I'll be doing some new banners, more entires in it, finishing up that picture of their home... ect. I don't know how long this'll take me, but hopefully not that long.
