Detailed Personality:

Leave the electronics and the modern contrivances at home, for Seamus much prefers the quality and realism that only an antique can provide. He may tolerate the computer, but you won't find him watching television or listening to punk rock, though he has been known to not object to Proto's playing Linkin Park, he'd prefer something folk anyday, preferably with fiddles. Perhaps that is just because of the respect Seamus tries to show for his elders: a time-honoured tradition. Coincidentally, though, it leads him to expect the same respect in return from a younger Feien: when it is denied him, he may get a bit hot under the collar. Seamus does have fairly strong moral values, however, and delights in chivalry.

Chivalry in mannerism, anyway. Like many men over the centuries, his fidelity is not easily obtained and he can be downright fickle at times. In fact, his daring leads him to pounce on new people almost immediately. Unfortunately, it also tends to get him in deeper trouble from time to time as he tends to take things too far and conduct experiments in areas he really shouldn't. Combined with his powerful imagination, some of the daring ideas he comes up with can be fairly shocking. Generally, he's well-enough restrained, but sometimes his ideas see the light of day, which can be either disastrous or miraculous. In short, Seamus knows the value of caution but prefers the thrill of risk. Where's the fun when there's no chance of failure?

Not that failure is much of a concern, anyway. His imagination has a tendency of creating an image of the best-case scenario, so that he ends up being fairly optimistic, but simultaneously a little bit impressionable and naive as he can always think up some situation in which a proposal would work out. He doesn't like to acknowledge the possible negative outcomes of events when there are so many ideas for potential positive results, floating around in his head.

Being old-fashioned and imaginative, Seamus takes a certain amount of interest in fairy tales and mythology, and he seems very intrigued by religious mythos. His research into this eventually led him to discover Ireland. While most Feien are nation-neutral, Seamus is very clearly Irish and, since discovering his apparent heritage, has become disturbingly nationalistic, reading up on all his Irish history and folk tales. Eventually, he found out that fairies of all types may have their roots in Ireland, which has already inflated his ego somewhat. Fortunately, he's not naturally egotistical so he can be pretty humble about it... until someone brings the topic up in conversation, anyway.

Perhaps one reason why Seamus seems to get along with people is simply his voice. It's got the most pleasant Irish lilt, is melodic and cheerful, and just perfect for singing. Which Seamus does rather frequently. Singing, songwriting, parodying, nothing is out of his scope. His taste in music, of course, is skewed towards folk and classical, anything not modern. He tolerates modern music on request but prefers greatly the older forms. He particularly likes stringed instruments like the fiddle.

A crybaby? Well, that's the thing: daring Seamus does a good job getting himself into messes. Digging himself back out, however, has never been his strong suit and occasionally he resorts to tears as a means of venting his emotional distress. He's by no means crying constantly, but he doesn't seem to completely understand why it's not ideal for him to vent his frustration that way. Someday, perhaps, he will understand how silly and childish he looks.

A wee little butterfly all Seamus' own! He placed the cage in his grove under the bonsai tree, where he sleeps. Seamus takes very good care of this little one!

Solzhenitsyn, my MoKat. Even though Seamus seems to think it's his. stare Since Sol grew up and began talking, he and Seamus have developed a bit of a bond. It's endearing. At least I know Seamus is in good paws of protection when I'm not home.

Aleksandr, my Shree. This guy is really quite solitary. Comes of being a crested Shree, I think. Anyway, Seamus gets pecked at whenever he gets too close yet Aleksandr seems to be affectionate at a distance. Apparently, he enjoys company but not close company. So Seamus can't claim him.
