It is forty one years before Cloud meets Aerith. Thirty six before Nibelheim is burned to the ground. Eleven before Sephiroth is born of Jenova.

War has broken out between the two major centers of industry on the western continent, Junon and Midgar. Each continually tries to outdo the other in technological advantage, but to no avail. And the continual push for greater and greater war machines is creating a huge demand for new, larger sources of energy as the old resources begin to disappear.

A young man named Abend Shinra is the new president of his father's electric company. His ambitions are great, and the war is fueling them. He has just recently received a contract with the government of Midgar to exploit a new resource that his scientists have recently discovered how to utilize to make cheap, efficient energy--Mako.

Other companies vie for the secret his company has stumbled upon. The corporations begin to fight amongst themselves, leading, occasionally, to something like battles between the companies within the very streets of Midgar.

And young Shinra has a vision... a vision of a world united, under a single, gleaming disk, rising above the dirt of Midgar into the sky itself.

President Abend Shinra
The Prime Mover. His vision will change Midgar, and the world, forever. (Not currently being roleplayed)

Brigadier General Wiegraf Heidegger
An influential officer in the Midgar Army and the leader of Shin-Ra's rapidly developing fighting force, FACTiON. He leads the counterstrikes against opposing companies as well as leading them into occasional battles against Junon. (Not currently being roleplayed)

Ellis Bakar
The Head of Shin-Ra Counter-Intelligence, and Heidegger's partner. He oversees corporate espionage and the protection of Shin-Ra's company secrets. (Roleplayed by Souyu no Phoenix)
