Officially opened shop. Ice -our guest colorist- will probably be holding a FS for the Male Lion she colored tommorrow. As well I will be putting some stuff for FS here pretty soon, though I am really busy with some other things right now.

Made some more spirits for the certification, I still have a lot more to do. Started to work on shop layout and banners early in morning. Finished in late afternoon, but still needs some editing.

Flatsale
A flat sale is just a sale of an Out of Africa for a flat price. Different colorist will sell their art for different prices based on what they think their coloring is worth. The flat sale will be held in a separate thread and the link will be posted here along with the picture of what is for sale at that link. If there is no picture or no link, then there are no Out of Africa for flat sale.

Auction
All auctions start at 4K no matter what they are, now high they get depends on how much you bid. Auctions tend to be Special Edition and often times hold their own unique line art. In very rare cases I will hold an auction for custom line art. They will last about a week, sometimes more, sometime less. Link to the Auction will be posted here along with a picture of the Out of Africa for Auction. If there is no picture or link, there is no auction currently going on


Customs
Customs are 200K, no matter what your getting. You are not allowed to have custom lineart, that is for the auction only. However, you can pick any species, any coloration and even request edits to the linearts. No matter what you order there is no increase in price. Now, I know that 200K is high and often times you won't be paying that. If I see that you are trying extremely hard to get a custom I will either drop the price or take money from our treasury to complete the amount needed to make 200K. I can also do some of each. Customs are always available, so if you dream something up, send it in through PM! (If I don't have line art done for your species yet, I might take longer than normal to get your custom done) Make sure that you state who you want to color the custom when you send it.


Raffle
A raffle is where you buy tickets, 100 gold a piece, for a certain Out of Africa. These are often Special Editions as well. If you do not own an Out of Africa, you may request one free ticket per raffle. I ask that you do not request ticket numbers. It makes it much too hard for me. As usual it will be held in a separate thread and a link and picture will be posted here. If there is no link or picture, then there are no raffles currently taking place.


Special Events
Special Events means that you have a chance at a completely free Out of Africa pet. Normally they are pre-colored, but sometimes they are customs. They come around once in a blue moon so don't get your hopes up to high for one occurring. Sometimes they will be done in terms of raffles, but mostly it will be the first person to post on a certain page or to bump something so many times and the like. My favorite free pet competitions are the RP contests, where you post RP examples and the best Role player takes home the Out of Africa.


Donations
If you absolutely can't afford an Out of Africa, then you can put your name down on the donation list. This list has your name and what Out of Africa you want on it whether it is a FS that is coming up, a custom, raffle, or something else. Now all those who give and have lots of money (and or Out of Africa pets - yes you can donate these to people) and items to spend you may donate to the store itself and we will give these to people on the list, or you may donate directly to the people on the list. Your name will be put on the donor list either way, though if you donate directly to someone then the fact you did so will be placed next to the owners name in the owners list. If you wish to have your name on this list PM me with the subject 'Out of Africa Donation List'. If you wish to donate, Pm me with the subject 'Out of Africa Donation' and what you are donating (be sure to include who your donating to and such) then send the trade for whatever you are donating. ^_^ Those who receive donations will have their name removed from the list.

Pickups - Certified
Here you can pick up your certified Out of Africa. All Out of Africa will be given to the owner certified and uncertified. To get the uncertified simply save on that you win in a raffle, flatsale, auction or otherwise to your server. Its that simple. Custom, of any sort, uncertified Out of Africa pets can be picked up in next quote box

Shop Rules
1. Read the whole page before buying an Out of Africa. Or at least skim it or something. I don't want people asking what's this or how do I do this, ect. when the answer is clearly stated on the front page. If you have a question do me the liberty of at least looking for it on the front page first. If you still can't find it then go ahead and ask me then.
2. Be courteous to others, I don't want any flaming or yelling, or any kind of more than necessary negativity. Be especially kind to newcomers and guide them on what they are supposed to do, leave getting angry to me. If they do something deserving flaming or being put on the black list PM me, and I'll take care of it.
3. Absolutely NO 1337 speak, or whatever that is. I want you to use good grammar and at least try to spell and capitalize things.
4. Don't ask me if there's any Out of Africa available, I have it clearly stated in the currently available section. So don't PM me for nonsensical reasons, please! It just fills up my inbox.
5. When posting in the thread out of Role Play use (()) format [or any other format that closely resembles it]. Feel free to talk all you want in her just use that format. If you want to clarify something in your RP post that directly relates to the RP you can use ().
6. Feel free to help me out around the shop by directing people on what to do or advertising and stuff. Just stay within the normal Gaia rules and make sure that you know what you are talking about for sure before directing someone to someplace and such. XP
7. If you are going to transfer your pet to someone else or sell it or anything like that please PM me and the colorist responsible for creating it. I don't care what you do with your pet if you trade it, sell it, or whatever. Just tell us first please so we can update owners lists and certification stuff.
8. Lastly, keep a good mind and a positive attitude in the shop and feel free to ask me any question you want if you are sure that you do not know the answer to and cannot find it on this front page. ^_^

Alright the certifications are a little more complicated than most certs, mostly because you can pick whether or not to flip you picture on the cert. Only you, the owner, will have access to the uncertified Out of Africa once you have picked it up. Please post in the thread that you have saved your uncertified Out of Africa, for it will be deleted to save room in the photobucket account.

Here's an example of the cheetah that is shown flipped both ways. The one facing right is the original and the one facing left is the flipped version.

When you get your uncertified Out of Africa it will not be flipped. If you wish it to be flipped simply state so on the form that you fill out and it will be done. Because of the time it takes to cert it is asked that you do not request both flipped versions on to certs. If you do not care, please sate so and the certifiers will cert it the way they think it looks best.

Now the certification is just a way that lets us and everyone else know that it is an authentic Out of Africa. Without the certified copy your Out of Africa is void and cannot be used for breeding or selling. It is also a way to keep others from stealing your pet and claiming it as their own. All in all it is good to have a cert.

If you notice, the certification had something called a spirit on it. This is what kind of spirit your Out of Africa has. Eventually I will have an image with their pictures there as well and below a description of what each spirit symbolizes.

Your pet will go through only 2 stages. If I had made it any more I don't think I could draw fast enough to make it work. The first stage is the 'child' stage. This is the stage that you will start with when you breed your two animals together. Sometimes, thought rarely, I will hold flat sales and auctions where pets will start from this first stage. Most species are not gender line art separated at this stage, but some are.

Next your pet will grow into the adult stage (most pets come in this stage) This is the stage in which your pet is completely grown. It is mostly finalized, unless you add items an stuff to it. How long it takes to get to this stage depends. If you are an active RPer it will only take one or two weeks. If you RP occasionally it is two to three weeks and if you don't RP at all it will take one month almost exactly. An active RPer doesn't stand based on what you say you are going to do, it is what you actually do. If you say you are going to RP actively, but don't RP at all then your pet's growth will be rather slow.

An active RPer is defined by Rping anywhere from every day to once every four days. Obviously you won't be able to RP as much if no one is RPing with you and this can be pardoned. You may also hold a journal and update it once a week for an active RP.

Occasional Rpers post once a week or once every two weeks and they post in their journals once every two or three weeks.

Finally people that don't RP at all are ones that RP once a month, hold journals at least once month or simply don't do any of these at all.

Your pets growth will be sped up or slowed down depending on what side of the Rp you are.

All Role Playing shall be done in this thread. If you are to talk out of context please use (()), or any similar method. If you need to discuss something directly having to do with the RP please use (), or any similar method. Role Playing is simple taking putting yourself in the shoes of another character and acting as they would act through writing. You don't have to be the best RPer in the world to RP, and you'll grow better with time. Here's something that you should not write.

There is to much spelling error and bad grammar in this post. Try to keep your writing in past tense and add description and flavor to it. Make the characters have an attitude, give him/her some character and don't RP for the other person. Give them a chance to respond to what you are doing. Here is that same post again with edits.

Thasher's keen eyes scanned the landscape as his feet thundered over the jungle floor. His spotted leopard fur and fierce canine teeth hid his true flamboyant nature and glee at life. Thasher was a particularly clumsy leopard, if one may say so. Every step he took was a near slip, but the tongue lolling out of his mouth clearly stated he didn't care of much but running. As usual his eyes didn't do him much to for a sudden stop in forward movement of his feet knocked the wind from his chest and send him stumbling and rolling into the thick covering of the forest floor. He got up and scanned around with his eyes, alighting on the cause of his fall, a small, but obviously fierce jackal. "Pardon me!" Thasher said laughing and began to pick himself up. "I didn't see you there." Thasher gave himself a quick lick to rid himself of a minor amount of dirt, then turned his attention back to the jackal. "The name's Thasher! Pleased to meet ya!" Thasher offered a paw towards the jackal, hoping not to sound to threatening.

Now one thing to keep in mind when role playing: Though other herbivores and grazers might be able to understand each other like buffalo and elephants and Kudu. Lions and Kudu and Lions and elephants cannot understand one another. Jackals and leopards might have a struggle talking to one another. Just keep that in mind as you RP.

You can do whatever you feel fit with your journals. Some people make it an account of what happens in their Rp, and other make it an account of the pets life. You can do it in first person as if the pet was actually writing it as a journal or you can write it as a third person omniscient. Whatever you feel would work well. Be sure to submit the journal through PM, so I can put it in the owners list for others to look at.

Items are completely custom, except for a minor few. If you buy a Out of Africa in a flatsale but want to give it a necklace feathers or something of the sort, just turn to here for a basis on cost. Items vary in cost for what they are, but never exceed a certain amount for that particular type. If is is more detailed the price goes up. I fit is particularly easy it is on the low side of the price range. If your item is not listed here PM me with its description and I shall put down an estimation here for others of that type. When you PM me with what items you want and its description I will Pm you back with the exact cost to add the item to your picture, that way if you want to know how much you need to save or if you were on the edge of being able to afford a certain item you will know for sure or not.

Breeding costs 2K for two separate owners that wish to breed and 2.5K if you are going to breed two Out of Africa together that you own. Depending on the species of African animal that you are breeding together anywhere from one to five first stage out of Africa pets will be formed. For creatures like Elephants there will be only one and for creatures like jackals there sometimes up to five are five. I will use randomizer.org to determine what gender, coloration(inherited from parents), and how many first stage Out of Africa pets will be born. Breeding is always open unless I otherwise state so here in this post that it is not.


Breeding pairs will go in the breeding area. There are only two breeding spots open at one time. A pair will be placed in the spot and after about one week a link to the picture of the new pets will show up next to their pictures. You may decide to keep the pets or you may sell them.
