This stage will last until you meet the required number of visits - it's not hard!

During the time when Aubrianna is teaching the Dumyr Uluen rudimentary language skills, a necklace is given to the prospective caretaker. The pendent on the necklace shows what sort of basic personality the Dumyr will have, and the beads show what the color patterning will be.

While in possession of the necklace, the prospective caretaker must visit with Aubrianna at least twice within one or two weeks. These meetings are to see if the caretaker and Uluen get along and take to one another... and OOCly to determine if you're going to stay active in the shop.

On the subject of the basic personality types, there are three possibilities: Happy/Energetic, Sad/Passive, and Evil/Pessimistic. These types are not limited to those simple traits, however.

Evil/Pessimistic

The classification for this personality type is really a bit of a misnomer. In reality, this type is mischevious, pessimistic, or cynical. Many simply enjoy playing tricks and pulling pranks on others with no real malicious intent. The trait that separates the pessimistic subdivision from the Sad/Passive personality type is their outspokenness on the subject. Of course, there is the odd Dumyr in this category that is what we would refer to as "evil," wishing to cause harm to others. On a slightly related note, this personality type is the most likely to develop mental issues... however, on the whole, Dumyr are very strong-minded individuals, and few have problems of that nature.

Sad/Passive

This personality type is predisposed to introversion. Many are quiet and reticent. Others are simply shy or passive, and some are prone to depression. However, many Dumyr with this personality type are empathetic and quite willing to spend time just lounging around the house with you when you're feeling down. They don't take much looking after, and are perfect for people with low-key lifestyles.

Happy/Energetic

This personality type is characterized by extroversion and general cheerfulness. Of course these types have their low points, but are normally quick to rebound. This type is very easy to get along with, and will often be extremely loyal. However, it takes a lot of energy to keep up with them, and you'll probably need to "kitten" proof the house... with still more precaution, because normal kittens don't have scaly tails and wings.


((Please keep in mind that the above descriptions are not meant to limit character development. They are simply meant to keep too many "happy" characters from being made - feel free to run wild with the basic traits! I'd love to see what you can come up with!))

(Plural - Uluen)

This stage lasts for one month.

In the first stage of life, the Dumyr begin their education in our language. As such, they have only a rudimentary grasp of it, and need frequent visits to Aubri's "classes", held at her house or at the local university, to help reinforce what they learn. Not that it matters too much - Uluen are at the intellectual stage of a toddler. Similar to kittens, Uluen sleep for most of the day. Depending on their personality, they may attach quite quickly to their caretakers.

As a side note, Uluen also know their native tongue, and continue to learn it throughout their lives from Aubrianna, just as they learn English.

(Plural - Thuseri)

This stage lasts for two months.

At this stage, Dumyr are roughly the size of a leopard or panther. Their language skills are fully developed, and they are at the intelligence level of an older teen. They are still prone to bad, impulsive errors in judgment, but less so than Ellundel. They are also beginning to truly develop higher logic skills. Many enjoy some form of puzzle.

Mating is now possible, and many find and bond with lifelong (or not so life long, in some cases) partners. However, some fall in love as an Ellundel, or as a Seris... and some stay solitary their entire lives.

(Plural - Serisen)

The final stage of life lasts much, much longer than the previous stages. In fact, Dumyr can live comfortably for more than a century or two. They've reached adulthood, both physically and mentally.

Dumyr have, by this point, developed sophisticated logic skills, and a good many of them have found a particular field of interest to devote themselves to. This specialization is by no means mandatory, however.

Serisen are normally somewhere between 4'6" (137 cm) and 5'2" (157.5 cm) tall, though shorter or taller Dumyr have been known to exist.
