Welcome to Gaia! ::

Sorry, been slacking off with this like, totally majorly as of late... and I hate to say this isn't even a full-on update. Heck, as of this morning I wasn't going to either. I had to go to the comic store to grab a movie and happened to see a few comics that had been talked about as of recently, which sounded interesting. Scratching an itch, as it were.

Marvel Zombies #1 - Mmm.... braaaiiins.... Friend of mine recommended this to me by saying "It's zombies with Superpowers." What I got was... Magneto with superpowers, and other characters sluping him down like a barbecue. I'd like to see some abilities here, people! Not just throwing stuff around and Hulk tearing people up!

The moments of cognizance were cool... though it was a little wierd that Jarvis was mostly willing to die to feed the Avengers.

Justice League: Unlimited #16 - Yes, Delilah, there is a Power Girl. And she's in the DCAU too. No idea when she 'officially' showed up, so don't ask. On the upside, there's a Firestorm as well. See, the "kids" (that'd be PG, Supergirl, Star Girl, Atom Smasher, and Firestorm) are on the Watchtower celebrating X-Mas, with Hawkgirl on Monitor Duty.

Standard story, villain breaks out and tears the team a new one, until Atom Smasher traps him in concrete. Turns out all the villain wanted was to see his kid for Christmas... so the end of the issue is Atom Smasher bringing the kid to the Prison to see his father. Aww.

Seven Soldiers: Zatanna #4 - Nice. I liked it... and now I know what the origin of that 'Mad Zorina' mule is. Even reached out to her hand when she "placed it on the glass" though I still knew it was coming. Just so irresistible.

Now all I need to do is grab #2 and #3, and catch up all all the other adventures of our intrepid heroes.

Plastic Man #19 - Right. Any mention of Ra's will pique my interest (Pinder, Gia... I'm looking at you). Toss in Plastic Man and it's a solid winner right there. Of course, my favorite part was more when Talia showed up, if only for Weezy's reaction, and then the resurrection of the people from ashes in the LazPit.

Though, I will say that this has got to be one of those 'out of continuity' stories, because Ra's is supposed to be dead, with Nyssa leading everything. Neither topics came up in the issue.

Oh, the movie I bought? Live-action Initial D... haven't watched it yet though.
Why aren't I seeing Desolation Jones #4? sad

Because it's not there.

I didn't clear out my pull-box, these were just random issues that (via conversations) had piqued my interest. The "full" review (with scathingly funny commentary) will be posted a bit after Christmas because that's when I'll be clearing the 'box and getting all my normal comics. Plus hopefully a few trades with gift money.

Continuity? I have yet to see anything that states Plastic Man is out of canon. Ra's is back, shirtless, Talia lives at his nice suburban house with her stuffed animal collection, and they have a Lazarus pit in the basement.

How can this POSSIBLY make any less sense to you then what's been going on in the DCU for the last 4 years?

I guess I'll have to hold out until then, as I have not picked up Zee #4 yet. sad

I'm not going to summarize it though. Usually I just post my thoughts on the given book and possibly a few spoilers if I'm so inclined.
