Moving to new thread and officially opening shop

[30/05/07] -- It's been a while (a long time actually, maybe a long time doesn't even quite cut it), our exams are over, we got into a new school, what we wanted and maybe we're going to start this shop up, currently working on the lineart. Check out what has been done so far from the section on Hyuuhyuu stages.
[11/11/06] -- Three more exams papers to sit for and we are done! After a few days rest, we shall open again~
[10/06/06] -- It's the June holidays for Yi and Icied. Guess it's time to work on the Hyuuhyuu!
[03/04/06] -- It has been a while hasn't it, anyway Icied here cannot believe she had forgotten to put up the, 'Shop on hiatus,' sign! Anyway, just a quick update of the shop and fear not people, we'll be back around December (after our exams). Yi will be working on the rest of the lineart slowly throughout this period. Also as studying can drive one crazy we'll be online once in a while to chat and update on the shop's process.

User ImageMany dimensions exist in the world. There is an infinite number of these dimensions. It so happens that we live in one of the main ones. Call it whatever/ however you wish, it is not relevant in this case.

The Hyuuhyuu live in one of these other dimensions along with some mythical creatures that we know of. Few acknowledge their existence; most just disregard stories they had heard when they were young. Somehow, a group of explorers came across a gateway to their world and things just unfolded from there. They decided to explore the world they had stumble across. After passing through the gateway, they split into eight different groups of two. In the end, the group that went in the southeast direction that reported back.

It appears that they have traveled the sea on a boat. Due to an underwater volcano, their little boat was blown up into the air. They landed in a place which they dub, Sky Island -- A piece of land in the middle of the sky, held up together by thick layers of clouds. The clouds themselves are thick enough, that they too form landforms which a person may stand safely on. Surrounding the mysterious phenomenon, are what the explorers called the Cloud-Sea. The clouds there are less dense than ones found around the land, while people can't stand on them, they seem to be able to swim in them, as if in water, albeit thick, foamy water. All these, contributed to the name, Sky Island.

The explorers decide to explore the land they landed on. They make their way through several grasslands and forests. A quick study showed that the natural lifeforms with cloud as soil are drastically difference from the ones with earth as soil. For one, the trees grown with clouds as base are less vibrant in colour; they also seem to be surrounded with a sensation of what explorers now call magic. Walking though these woods makes the explorers feel as if their hair were tingling and standing when upon checking, it wasn't.

They encountered no accidents other than the occasional attack from wildlife, some we are familiar with, some we are not. The ones that looks familiar seem to come in weird combination of colors while the others look nothing like what the explorers had seen before.

After a few days of walking, they came across the village of the Hyuuhyuu. The village is located deep in one of the many surrounding forests. Fortunately, they were not aggressive creatures. Another quick study illustrate that the Hyuuhyuu appear to possess the same level of intelligence as that of the dolphins found in the human world. They seem to solve problems exceptionally well. These little furballs have high levels of reasoning, planning and learning ability. However, they do lean towards learning from experience. The little daredevils usually never stop to think before acting, which resulted in the little side joke about how only pain can jolt the little Hyuuhyuu minds.

The Hyuuhyuu speak and talk in their own language. There are no signs of any advance technology available in the Hyuuhyuu world. Intelligent as they are, the Hyuuhyuu prefer a simple way of living. The huts and little holes in trees in which the Hyuuhyuu live in make up to a complicated web of design around the treetops that in turn form their village. Simple levers and drainage systems enfold the village.

Magic-wise, the Hyuuhyuu are born with the ability to manipulate air. They tend to glide above the ground instead of walk -- the reason why no ladders, or anything that would help a person climb, can be discover within their village. The eggs of the Hyuuhyuu gather above the treetops out in the clouds. Even at that stage, the egg themselves radiate magic which helps in keeping them afloat. The shells of the eggs are hard as diamonds, and every time an egg hatches the village would experience what seems to be a shower of sparkling stones (albeit sharp ones) -- reason as to why the forest ground is littered with little glass-like protrusions (enough to cut but not break if stepped upon, do be careful when maneuvering about).

The Hyuuhyuu are a very closely knitted bunch. So close that each of them regards each other as family. Although they have so many 'brothers and sisters,' they wouldn't ever know if they were related --- the Hyuuhyuu eggs become muddled up the moment they are released into the air. Hyuuhyuu, already playful even then, would use their magic to float about, moving and bumping into others.

To understand and know more about the Hyuuhyuu, a sort of project has been set up. An egg shall be paired up with a human in hopes that both would get to know one another. This shop is opened for all who wish to 'own' a Hyuuhyuu. People who are lucky enough to get a spot every time one is available -- after paying for the transport to the Hyuuhyuu world -- will be sent by a device to the Hyuuhyuu village. The same device would then transport the 'owners' back to the Gaia world and vice-versa.

The Hyuuhyuu have declined to coming and exploring our world no matter how curious they are about it.

User ImageHuddled together above the treetops out in/on the clouds, we call this ‘egg-like’ stage, an orb. Inside the shell, hard as diamonds, a Hyuuhyuu is currently developing. It starts as a thick, thick mist of magic, slowly being gathered, and concentrated together in the center of the orb. As the days passes the magic within only grow more potent and concentrated until the day of the Hyuuhyuu hatching, where the magic will be at it's peak -- where it could no longer be contained and out the magic will burst.

In coming in contact with the atmosphere, the magic molecules will harden and once again, be draw back together to form the Hyuuhyuu that you will soon get to know. This process takes about 1 to 3 hours depending on the magic resistance to influences of the atmosphere (normally, the longer it takes, the less likely, that your Hyuuhyuu will be powerful in the magical department as air is usually flexible, able to be persuaded or influenced).

The hatching of a Hyuuhyuu could become a rather dangerous affair due to the flying pieces of orb shell -- they are sharp and almost impossible to break. Owners should not to stand too close. Do stand near enough for the magic to feel you once it has burst open. Doing so will enable the Hyuuhyuu will learn to recognize your being.

On the other hand, due to being in such close quarter with you, the Hyuuhyuu may become effected by some of your more distinctive (good/ bad) temperament. The Hyuuhyuu basic/ instinctive personality would still define them. For example, the Hyuuhyuu are playful in nature and if you happen to be the super moody kind, the most it will affect your Hyuuhyuu is that it will have days where it will be less likely to go all out to have his/ her fun.

On the outside, as it nears the day it hatches, the orb will be more likely to float in little random circles, sometimes bumping into other going-to-hatch eggs.

Size-wise, at this stage the Orb can be held in one's hands. It is advise to cup both your around the orb if you are attempting to hold it though. Even if they are tacitly unbreakable, it never bad to be cautious.

The orb can hatch into 3 different type of species. While each one of them may appear to have retained a part of their orb from their birth, this set of orbs are new. They are leftover magic from their birth concentrated and harden to form shells with magic within them. Amount of orbs has nothing to do with how magically powerful a Hyuuhyuu is, some species of Hyuuhyuu just happens to be harder to form than, others.

The Hyuuhyuu have no gender, being form with air magic they have no sexual parts identifying any differences in genders. At this stage, the Hyuuhyuu are constantly exploring their surroundings, learning about their environment, making friends, having fun with friends, practicing magic, getting creative with their magic -- any possible to do under the sun. The little ones magic being in its developing stage could result in some accidental magic being release when the Hyuuhyuu is feeling emotional.

As close as the Hyuuhyuu are, they prefer to do things on their own; many things about the world around them are self-taught and learn through experiences with minimum help from others (they tend to ignore advices). At times this result in them getting injured and hurt through reckless actions but in these little furballs eyes, the injuries are worth it -- doesn't stop them from whining and crying to anyone willing to listen and getting a treat or two to make it better though. The Hyuuhyuu cuteness is there for a reason.

The Hyuuhyuu ears move on their own accord, it reflects, the Hyuuhyuu feelings. The chances of the Hyuuhyuu, being able to control their ears (especially those of Fluffy’s) is much like the chances of a person being able to fold their tongues into a u-shape. If a Hyuuhyuu was not born with the ability, they will never be able to control their ears -- no matter how hard they may try to do so.

Size-wise, at this stage the Hyuuhyuu is about the size of an average human head (not including the height of their ears).

The Hyuuhyuu further grow into five different species this time round. At this stage their curious nature would not have wilted a bit. They start venturing out of the safety of their village to explore the lands surrounding it. In their travels, they would make friends of different creatures, sometimes these creatures might decide to accompany the Hyuuhyuu. The wildlife and other creatures around will not post much problems for them, with their ability to control the air refine to almost their maximum at this stage, if any real danger occurs the Hyuuhyuu can always make a run for it.

Size-wise, at this stage the Hyuuhyuu reach about the middle of an average human thigh (not including the height of their ears).

.:: The Fame System ::.
A fame system has been installed for the Hyuuhyuu to encourage owners to be more involved with their Hyuuhyuu. The fame system involves fame points (FP). One may collect an unlimited amount of FP per day. However you can only have a maximum amount of 100 fame.

There are many different methods to earn fame points.
Relevant journal entry post: 10 FP,
Short role-playing post: 2 FP,
Median role-playing post: 4 FP,
Long, well written role-playing post: 6 FP.
[The amount of FP given will be under revision after we officially start the shop, feel free to give us your thoughts on it.]

With fame, your Hyuuhyuu will be able to own items (items are not equipable unless it comes with the Hyuuhyuu) and guardians (little minion which follows them about). Buying items/ guardian will cost you fame.

A Hyuuhyuu can own up to 3 guardians. However, (at each time) only 1 guardian will be shown along with your Hyuuhyuu on the cert.

Fame will also enable you to breed your Hyuuhyuu (100 fame).

In order for us to count the points better, a 'Claim your fame points' pm will be introduced, you will be required to pm Butter (Black`butterfly) with the amount of SP point you have collected for that day and the link of your posts/ journal.

Only trusted and close companions should attempt this. The two Hyuuhyuu who decide they want offspring to mark their friendships or other bonds, will need to set out to find the breeder npc. They will obtain from him/her a glass-like fishbowl made from high residue of magic, depending on their sincerely they might be given more than one. The pair will then set out to Mount Ukatousen. They will enter through the sacred entrance at the bottom of the mountain -- To attempt climbing to the top from the outside would be impossible due to the violent, potent air magic that engulf the mountain.

From there the duo will proceed to reach to top of the hollow mass. The pair will encounter a trial filled with obstacles, which will need the two cooperation and complete trust in each other to accomplish. Once they reach the peck within the mountain, they will exit through a cavity. There, the Hyuuhyuu will each blow a breath of heavily magic-infused air into the bowl. No sooner, once the step is completed, the surrounding dense air-magic will react, gather, and try to merge within the center of the bowl. The bowl itself will be encase in pure, concentrated magic -- sealed and harden into an orb.

The now extremely tired, magically exhausted but delighted pair will slowly make their way back to the Hyuuhyuu village and place their beloved orb on a cloud near their hut and go to take their well-deserved rest. They will constantly check on the little one, well, at least the one they think is their little one -- one can never be too sure with all the orbs moving about.

The adoption house...Hyuuhyuu of owners who will not be keeping them anymore due to various reasons will be located here until we find them new owners. Different ways of obtaining the Hyuuhyuu here will be available with the most likely being an event, we happened to think up of, or an RP prompt. Also Yi (yi`er) or Ici (Icied) may decide to colour a Hyuuhyuu for the hell of it and put it up for adoption. Guardians may also be found here.

Nope, you will just have to see how your luck turns out when your Hyuuhyuu egg hatch.

We would be using the dice roll feature in Gaia to determine what species will be available for flatsale then we would assign which eggs would hatch into what. By the time you buy your egg, we already know what you will be getting when your egg hatches. For details, you will just have to be lucky enough to witness it.
[>] Why are there Hyuuhyuu with darker and lighter orbs?
They are just the result of different colours chosen during colouring.
[>] Does a darker egg means more chances of the Hyuuhyuu turning out to be one of the rarer species?
Nope.
[>] Then what are the dark and light orbs for?
Nothing, as stated before they are just the result of different colour chosen during colouring.

[>] Can I name my Hyuuhyuu later?
Of course. You may leave off naming your Hyuuhyuu until it hatches.
[>] Is co-owning a Hyuuhyuu allowed?
Co-owing is allowed for any Hyuuhyuu obtain from auctions only.
[>] The maximum amount of Hyuuhyuu a person can own?
Two, not counting those obtained from events.
[>] The maximum amount of owners a Hyuuhyuu can have?
Two.
[>] Can we buy a Hyuuhyuu for a friend?
Yea go ahead but be sure to say so when you are buying the Hyuuhyuu.

Three. Not counting those obtained from events.

You may only choose a guardian to be tagging along with your Hyuuhyuu at anytime. It may cause problems for the Hyuuhyuu to have all his/ her xxx amount of friends tagging along with him/ her all the time.

Go ahead; we will be more then happy to hear that, be sure to pass us a link to your Hyuuhyuu journal.

WHERE!? Please point it out to Icied so she may edit it/ them, in this case, you may either pm Icied or Butter, you can also state them in the thread unless they are very embarrassing errors, do go easy on Icied then. She can only write, edit, and spot so many -- some may not register as mistakes (or she just blinded). Yi does not help at all -- she usually (99% of the time) will not bother to read the full typed out information.

Icied is a Singaporean, and like all Singaporeans, her English has influences of Singlish (what we call English edited due to taking shortcuts when talking with it, or something like it) – thus the result of bad grammar.
