This post will explain the one called Abrihet to you. Mind you, this post may and probably WILL be tweaked a bit before I receive the Custom Wand, so changes may pop up out of nowhere. However, the basic idea of Abrihet will never be changed. I love it far too much.

Abrihet: The Hoodoo Dream

Name: Abrihet
Gender: Female
Abilities: Very keen with herbology. Exceptional skills in witchcraft and Hoodoo, through years of practice as a child and teenager in past life. Mind you, these skills won't even begin to flourish until she's a youth.
Information on their previous life: Born in the life of slavery in the early 1800's, Abrihet was a junior cook, brought up around the tingling spices of her home in Louisianna. She worked in the field as well as in the kitchen, and took to knowing more herbs than anything. She became a well-known practitioner of witchcraft and Hoodoo. The family discovered her blasphemous ways, and deemed it witchcraft. The family didn't resort to hanging the Witch, as customary. They laid her out on a stone slab, and one by one, each of the family members took a large rock and beat her with it until they grew tired. After each family member had a go, every servant and slave, even Abrihet's own family, were ordered to stone her to death. Her father was the one who threw the last stone before she died.
Personality from child to adult:
---------- Child: As a child, Abrihet is a curious little creature. She takes to exploring a lot, finding out many things through experience instead of book-searching. She loves to work outside, so she can discover more without having to really worry about getting in trouble for snooping. Her curiosity often gets her in more trouble than not, though. But her curiosity never wavers, and she often learns more through it.
---------- Teenager: No longer the innocent, curious little girl, Abrihet is now into the more dangerous sides of things. Now chaotically curious, it isn't rare to see Abrihet experimenting with alcohol or drugs, different styles of clothing, or makeup. Abrihet as a teenager wants to know everything, and gets easily annoyed when she realizes she's wrong about something. Her personality has taken a stubborn note to it, and she hates being wrong. Mind you, after the initial shock of being wrong, she's grateful for the new information, but her pride still stops her from being completely happy with it. Abrihet is beginning to show an interest in all things magical, but unfortunately not a very big interest right now. She only thinks it's "Cool", not something that she'd want to persue fully. Because her memories are beginning to come back, however, the curiosity is beginning to blossom, right up into her Youth stage, where she truly does begin to go through books and tries to find out more about this ancient belief in Hoodoo magick.
---------- Youth: Thankfully, the hormonal rages that Abrihet was made of as a teenager has stopped being so chaotic, and now we are left with a level-headed, patient Abrihet youth. As a youth, Abrihet has now taken to understanding the concept of 'Book Smarts', and is often seen with some form of literature in her possession. Having learned all she thinks she needs through experience as a child and teenager, Abrihet has now turned her attention to learning things that she cannot have experience in through books. Usually her books are about some form of magic, be it fictional or not, and Abrihet is beginning to grasp the full concept of Hoodoo and witchcraft, taking it as her own and persuing it with her all.
---------- Adult: Thankfully much more mature for her age, Abrihet is still persuing and practicing Hoodoo. She now has a more motherly personality, taking to helping out with the younger ones out of pure instinctive habit. Abrihet's general personality makes her sweet to everyone, at least until they piss her off. Not one for revenge, Abrihet simply knows how to hold a grudge for a long time, and gaining the trust that Abrihet gives everyone a chance for is going to be very hard.
Hair and Eye color: Hair color is black, and eyes are a gentle brown color. One eye is lighter than the other, making it a more honey color than actual brown.
Element: Magic/Hoodoo belief
Distinctive Marks: Light colored African skin. Some spots on her arms and back are lighter than others because of birthmark "scars" from her past life.
General likes and dislikes:
---------- Likes: The stinging scent of spices. Spicy foods. Plants. Solitude. Exploring. Drums. Music.
---------- Dislikes: Loud people, the smell of antibacterial soap, Oranges, lemons, sunflowers, dresses, formal parties.
Hobbies: Singing, recording, exploring new areas, shopping.

Physical Attributes From Wand to Adult Stages:
---------- Wand: Abrihet's wand will be based around the cajun roots of her past life. Made of pure bald cypress' "knee" roots, that often go under the swamp of the Southern United States and pop up out of the water like bent knees. Near the top of the wand, a rocky, not-quite-perfectly shaped crystal will sit. Around the head of the wand, just under the rocky crystal, a band of feathers and dried herbs sits, mismatched in colors and size and giving the wand a 'homemade' feel.
---------- Wisp: The wand remains the same as always, but now a wisp of mossy green has emerged, floating around the rocky crystal.
---------- Baby Ghost: The baby ghost of Abrihet has finally emerged. Looking now more like the dark bark of a bald cypress instead of mossy green, Abrihet clings to her wand. Her eyes are the only real features that are vividly visible, and are a caramel-colored brown.
---------- Baby: Abrihet is finally a small baby. Her hair is not much, barely a dust of feathery black wisps on her head. Her skin is dark, a creamy caramel color to be honest. Her eyes have grown possibly darker, becoming the color of dark chocolate. Abrihet is a tiny baby, with bubbly cheeks and a grin that can hardly be replaced. She's usually wrapped in a blanket, or in a diaper. Abrihet will detest clothes in this stage, and will avoid them at all costs if she can. Already Abrihet's curiosity is beginning to show, as she wants to explore everything when in her mother's arms.
---------- Toddler: Abrihet is finally able to talk and walk. And walk she does. Abrihet is not above going out and exploring on her own, often throwing Amparo into a fit. Her hair has begun to grow longer, and already she is growing tall. Now not so much detesting clothes as detesting a lot of them, it isn't uncommon to see Abrihet in a pair of shorts and a tanktop, ready to explore with a tiny little backpack she's retrieved as a gift. Abrihet's eyes are still dark, and her skin has grown a few shades darker than it's creamy caramel. Her hair is beginning to grow out, but is still too short to be put into a ponytail. It falls just past her ears now, giving her a boyish look.
---------- Child: Abrihet is finally a child! Her skin and eyes have remained the dark color they were as a toddler. Her hair, however, has finally grown past her shoulders about an inch. Now, she often leaves her hair down, or in a loose ponytail tied with a black scrunchie. She's taken to wearing tee-shirts and jeans, and sneakers of course. She still has the backpack she has a toddler, but now she has a new improved Messenger Bag to hold all her things to explore. She often explores around her house, around her grandmother's house, or around the Wand Shoppe. Abrihet has an increasing curiosity with the different wands, and takes to asking everyone questions about EVERYTHING. She usually tries to bug Ianna into telling her about the wands, and takes notes about everything and everyone she knows.
---------- Teenager: Abrihet is finally a teenager. If this is good, Amparo doesn't know. Her apparent dislike of clothes is back, and Abrihet wears as little as possibly. Usually, a pair of tight jeans, sneakers, and a shirt that ends just over her stomach and ties around her neck is what adorns her. She still carries her messenger bag, filled with notebooks to take notes. Even as a teenager, Abrihet is curious. However, her curiousity is beginning to take a change towards magick and Hoodoo, specifically. It's a wavering curiosity, and often times she experiments more with alcohol, drugs, driving, and other teenaged things (like makeup, for example) moreso than the magickal heritage of Hoodoo. Abrihet still takes notes about EVERYTHING she experiences, and it's all recorded into her journal. Her hair is often left down now, or braided up into a tight bun for special occassions.
---------- Youth: As a youth, her hair is down, and she's beginning to mature. Now she still wears the somewhat 'showy' clothes of her teenaged stage, Abrihet carries herself with pride. She has strong facial features, and her eyes are clear and unclouded with various emotions. Not quite blunt, so much as brutally honest, Abrihet has now began to turn to books to fulfill her curiosity. It isn't uncommon to see Abrihet bent over a book, writing notes in one of her various notebooks. She still carries that same beat-up messenger bag, and it's filled now with notebooks that have been written in. Very few empty notebooks remain, much to her irritation. She's taken a somewhat shy outlook on life, only socializing with very close friends. However, if they're children, toddlers, or even babies, Abrihet automatically feels a strong pull towards them.
---------- Adult: As an adult, Abrihet looks strong willed, determined, and intelligent. She's taken to wearing regular t-shirts or long-sleeved shirts and jeans now, often wearing boots in place of sneakers. Her hair is long as ever now, and left down for all occassions. She is often see with a laptop case, now having bought a laptop to put all of her information into. The laptop case also holds, aside from her silver device, a pocket for books, which is often filled to the brim. She's taken to helping out with children as well, loving to be able to help them out. Now into her old habits of Hoodoo, it's not uncommon for her to have some sort of good-luck trinket on her.

A Story of Loss: Losing The Mentor

..........Abrihet pulled her knees to her chest, staring at the door in a forlorn manner. They were being sold. It wasn't uncommon in the life of a slave, and Abrihet could count her blessings that her mother and father weren't up there. But Yalowese, the old Hoodoo witch of their slave community, the one who taught Abrihet everything she knew...
..........Was up there. Being sold to another family to do work in the kitchens. It was a good deal, really. Yalowese was too old to be working out in the fields, and the Cournpough family had enough cooks. It'd do Yalowese some good to get out of here and out of the hot sun.
..........Abrihet rose from her spot, sneaking around the houses towards the Auctioning. She heard Master Cournpough talking to a man about Yalowese. "She's an odd 'un, that slave." Cournpough nodded to Yalowese, who was sitting with a little baby to be auctioned off. Yalowese always helped the slave auctions by choice, hoping to at least give them each a little bit of hope of a good family.
..........More often than not, that's all slaves had. Hope.
..........The man who was eying to buy Yalowese spoke up. "What makes her so odd? She seems a motherly type. Has she no family?"
.........."None, 'cept the children."
.........."They're all hers?" The man asked incredulously.
.........."No, no." Cournpough laughed. "That old horse couldn't have children even if sh'wanted them. No, all th'children see her as a grandmother."
.........."That's sad. She should be right at home at the house. Lots of kids for her t'play with, if she ever has spare time."
.........."Slaves aren't meant to have spare time. They're meant to work."
..........Abrihet winced, watching Cournpough and the other man talk about Yalowese in a manner to which they were buying a horse. She bit her lip, and tried to stumble back towards her little house.

~ ~ ~

..........It was hours after she heard the conversation. Two, three, but still more hours than she wanted to count. Abrihet was sitting there, stripping corn and using the cornhusk to make little dolls.
..........With Yalowese gone, who else could make little toys and trinkets like Santa for the various growing children in their household? She continued to strip corn husk, grateful for her swift hands and her even swifter friends in the kitchen, and folded and made the dolls.
..........There was a knock at the door, that both made Abrihet flinch and look up in curiosity. She rose quietly. "Who is it?"
.........."It's me, Chil'. Open the door." Abrihet's heart soared. They didn't sell Yalowese! She moved to the door, opening it, and there stood Yalowese, her mentor, her idol...
..........With the man who bought her. Yalowese smiled. "Th'nice man said I could say g'bye to my family." She replied at the curious look, reaching out a hand. Abrihet took the hand uneasily, and followed as Yalowese led her off to her own little house.
..........Inside the small hut, many, many books and herbs were made. Yalowese turned to her, and watched her Master. The man nodded his head, and Yalowese crouched down, hugging Abrihet. "Abrihet love... You're made for glorious things. Things no one else would ever dream of... You remember that, okay?" Yalowese smiled at her sadly. "And we'll see each other soon, I promise y'that."
..........Abrihet sniffled, nodding as she watched Yalowese. "But it ain' fair. Y'could work in the kitchens, or tend to the children, or... or something!"
.........."What's done is done, Abrihet." Yalowese petted her hair, smoothed out into a ponytail. "You... you take all these books." She waved her hand to the books littering the place. "And you hide them in your house. You read these books, and they'll make you great, okay?"
..........Abrihet watched Yalowese quietly as she walked over to her new Master, bowing her head. "I'm ready t'go, Master Laurence."
..........The man she acknowledged as Laurence nodded, and watched Abrihet. "Miss Abrihet, if y'ever want to come an' see Miss Yalowese, y'can come by any time, alright?" He smiled, touching her shoulder. Abrihet flinched, and nodded, smiling weakly.
.........."Thank y'kindly, sir." She mumbled, watching as Yalowese walked out with Master Laurence.
..........She then turned to the books, and took a deep breath. She dug around for the key to the little hut, and started to carry the books out by twos and threes. She'd do just what Yalowese said, she'd become great.
..........And then, she'd help everyone. But first...
..........Abrihet sat on her bed, flipping open the first book. Every good adventure starts with a book.

The Banners: The Banners are ALL created by me, as is the giant picture over Abrihet's information. The model in the picture is Yasmin Warsame, and the picture comes from www.supermodels.nl. I do NOT claim to own Yasmin Warsame, or the picture. I simply altered the picture to create the banners and the main image of Abrihet.

The Concept of Abrihet: The concept of Abrihet is MY OWN CREATION. Hoodoo is a belief that originated in New Orleans ages ago, and still thrives today. It is NOT VOODOO. Voodoo is considered a religion as ageless as Christianity or Islam, and comes from South Africa, I believe. Hoodoo, however, originated in New Orleans, and is fairly new compared to Voodoo.

The Ghosts Of The Past Shop: I do not own the shop, obviously. The shop is run by Kyrianna, and a link is located in the Links Post. Please check it out, it's definitely WORTH seeing.
And now you all may post! heart
