Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

Date came out: December 3rd, 2001

Well the story begins when a young mute boy named Jak and his bucked tooth friend Daxter go to a Dark Eco Silo and Daxter falls in turning into an orange Ottsel. Gol and Maya are the villains trying to harness the energy of a Dark Eco to use it to destroy the world. Enough about the beginning, this is an extremely fun game; you have to collect hundreds of Precursor Orbs and dozens of Power Cells to get into different areas while trying to stop Gol and Maya. You also have to free the Yellow, Blue, and Red Sages to help the Green Sage Samos, so you can prevent Maya and Gol from harnessing the power of Dark Eco. You can ride Flut Flut's (This giant bird that Jak can ride on.) Also; there is a Zoomer for different missions. You gather Precursor Orbs to do missions for Power Cells and vise versa to advance further into the game. The gameplay is Jak defeating Lurkers in different levels.

Jak II

Date came out: October 14th, 2003

Ok, this review is going to be betters then the first. Jak II is about Samos, Keira, and Jak finding a Precursor Artifact which they believe is a time traveler. So Keira invents a special kind of Zoomer for it to be used. I'm not going to ruin the surprise of how they got it you'll need to figure that out from the first game. When they activate the time traveler this monster's head appears in the portal and says that he'll conquer Jak's world. Keira starts up the vehicle before the monster could do them any harm and went through the portal scaring the monster back in during the process. They appear in this city called Haven city over two-hundred years in the future soon after. Jak and Daxter get separated from Samos and Keira but Jak himself gets captured and Daxter said "I'll get you out as soon as possible!"

Two years later....

This is where our story actually begins, Jak escapes Baron Praxis and Errol but once again I'm not going to ruin the surprise. Jak can also turn into his second form Dark Jak (The Baron Praxis pumped Dark Eco into Jak and gave him wicked powers.) Jak can now turn into his evil self and can do ultimately powerful moves. In this game it takes on the GTA look (Grand Theft Auto if you didn't know) because they now have four different guns.

The Scatter Gun which is a short but wide ranged gun.

The Vulcan Fury which is a powerful machine gun.

The Blaster which is like a sniper rifle only it's not in a first person view.

Last is the Peace Maker which is like an electric bazooka.

The reason this game is like Grand Theft Auto is because you can do different missions, you can steal different Zoomers, and when you kill someone the police will be on you like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

Including the new characters and a good ending, Jak II is an awesome game to have.

The beginning of this story is Jak being banished to the Wasteland by count Veger because of Jak's association with Krew and Kor. Once again I'm not going to ruin the surprise on how it all happened. So Ashelin gives Jak some sort of beacon before they leave him and while they walk through the Wasteland you can enjoy some amusing chatter between Pecker and Daxter. This game is absolutely amazing and you WANT to get the Precursor Orbs by doing different missions.

Jak is soon rescued by these Wastelanders as the story unfolds in Spargus City. You get to ride in eight different dune buggies (When you unlock the three secret ones) And each car is unique. The Dune Hopper can jump high, the Sand Shark is fast, and the Slam Dowser is powerful but slow. You can fight with machine guns and grenades mounted on the different dune buggies, and side missions such as racing, finding areas, and doing jumps can earn you Precursor Orbs (The Orbs are used for secrets.) Also, you revisit Haven City and you can turn into Light Jak, but of course you can still turn into his dark form. Light Jak can fly, heal himself, make a shield, and freeze time!

This is the best part! For each gun there are two upgrades.

The Scatter Gun is the same from Jak 2 but the Scatter Gun upgrade is when Jak shoots the ground and a huge wave circle radius destroys anything in its path. Lastly, its final upgrade is a grenade but sadly it takes up 8 ammunition.

You can switch between upgrades by pushing on the controller pad (Say the Peace Maker is right when you want its upgrade you push right again and etc.)

Anyway, The Blaster is the same but the first upgrade is when the shot bounces off enemies, walls, and different obstacles. The second upgrade is my favorite, Jak shoots this disc into the air and then all of a sudden the disk starts shooting everything in sight! This takes up 50 ammo though.

The Vulcan Fury is still a machine gun for its first stage and the second stage is an electric powered gun while the third stage is a gun that shoots out three homing interceptors as fast as a machine gun.

Lastly the Peace Maker is the same...Its first upgrade is when Jak shoots the ground and everything around him floats in the air slowly, making them an easy target! Lastly, the final upgrade you get is a nuke! Yes, a nuke! You shoot it and it destroys everything around him and the air goes up in a white flash.

I forgot to mention that you get your Jet-Board again, and you get Leaper Lizards in Spargus City.
