It was a dark and stormy night ...
In some other area that was far away from this one. Five doctors and one Benefactor EBIL were gathered around the subject in the clean room ( though one of their number was suspiciously missing, but they had a feeling he'd show up soon enough ). Some of them were scribbling away at notes and others were staring in awe at the alien before them. The Benefactor was smoking on a clove cigarette, a bit impressed with the final stages of the process. For now, at least.
"It seems a bit risky. We totally lost the test subject that we cloned off of Doctor Arzee -- speaking of which, aren't you a little too pleased to see a mini version of yourself go splat, for lack of a better word?" Doctor Via Gra arched an eyebrow, writing down another note absently and watching the darker haired doctor.
"... and if you remember, I all ways said I wouldn't like another me running about. Doctor Halocinogen wouldn't know what to do with two of me," the scientist quirked an eyebrow suggestively, before continuing on, "besides, we knew the risk when we went through the cloning procedure. It was meant to be an incomplete cloning as is, and we can't test ourselves. I remind you, we like living."
"That we do!" El Kamino added in, adjusting her outfit so that she was not so dangerously close to falling out of it, as might be a little too usual. "We also figured it was the best way to go about the process. A subject is 'infected' --"
"By me! I do so love injecting people," Doctor Halocinogen grinned, a tad too evilly, "but, by all means, do continue El."
"Right, as I was saying, the subject is 'infected' and a mark appears on their body that looks like a crop circle. Eventually, it progresses past that and we believe the potential name of the alien appears where the crop circle tattoo was and then ..." she trailed off, looking towards Doctor Crevorkian, lips twitching in what might've been sadistic amusement. Then again, considering the doctors gathered, it wasn't too unusual.
"Then the subject begins experiencing hallucinations and other phenomena that exhibit and show the infection is coming along just fine," the other doctor picked up easily where El Kamino left off. "The, ah, alien begins surfacing and slowly it becomes clear that the infection is all most complete. Eventually, time passes and we end up with what we have in front of us ..."
All the doctors and Benefactor EBIL looked towards the alien sitting on the clean room table in full battle armor and staring back at them curiously, as if he didn't quite understand them.
"A complete alien!" Doctor Via Gra popped in with a pleased smile. "Obviously, our process for achieving the 'birthing' of these aliens isn't completely refined, but we've figured a method of having them come to be. We figure they have some use and obviously carry the intelligence that is likely to come from ... ah, being inside a cloned body. Though they probably have their own that reveals itself over time, but only further testing will prove that theory incorrect or accurate."
"We've deemed the aliens OMG!aliens after a collective meeting," the voice that spoke up now was once again Doctor Halocinogen. "And this first one will make a fine test subject for the time being, until we make another one. Though we figure we'll clone our sixth associate when he returns this time around, as Doctor Arzee enjoys watching the destruction of clones of himself a tad too much." Halocinogen smirked over at Arzee, who pouted cutely before he realized he was and abruptly put a stop to it.
"Well?" Doctor Arzee turned and looked at Benefactor EBIL just as the other doctors did. There was a hopeful expression on their faces.
"I think we can market these aliens," the benefactor spoke, the voice of a smoker.
"Excellent! We can begin the process all over again, as an example of the product to show the market! I'm sure they'd love having their own alien minions." El Kamino rubbed her hands together gleefully, looking between the other doctors.
"... yeah, just hope that the battle armor on this one isn't a hint that says they're here to, you know, dominate all of Gaia," Crevorkian muttered, glancing back towards the alien with a paranoid look.
"Oh shush, you know it's perfectly under our control. With the materials and specimens that Benefactor EBIL gave us, we should be able to see to it that there are other types as well. They might not all have battle armor," Arzee nudged Crevorkian in the side and then looked towards the benefactor. "Actually, in regards to the materials and specimens, do you think you could tell us where you got them from?"
"That, doctors, is my secret." Benefactor EBIL just gave a mysterious smile and took a drag from a clove cigarette.
The door to the clean room suddenly burst open and their missing associate came walking in, a certain Doctor Queequeg, a grin on his face. "Damn! I missed the chest bursting action." There was a small pout on the man's face before he brightened up. "So, is that our OMG!alien? Let's get to work!"
... and thus, the team of doctors and their benefactor set about their business and work on the project at hand.
