Map of Kyron (Warning: Large Image)

The Circle of Kyron ((pronounced "KYE-ron)) exists on a small planet, similar in climate to Gaia, in another solar system. It can be accessed through a portal which Terr accidently discovered on her property ((story later)), although other portals probably exist.
The Circle of Kyron is inhabited by deer-like creatures. The planet is small enough that only one "town" is needed. The Circle is actually a fortress in the shape of a circle, in which all inhabitants of Kyron live and study. All Kyrs ((pronounced "Keers" wink ) have innate magical abilities in connection to various elements, and it is through these abilties that their society thrives and is structured.
The Circle of Kyron is divided into Branches. Each Branch represents a different element, and has its own temple/headquarters where the Kyr are taught, do research, and other things. Each Branch is divided into Areas. These are more specific ties to the element. For example, within the Branch of Earth, there are the Areas of Wood, Flora, and Ground. All Kyrs belong both to a Branch and to an Area.
Also within each Branch is a society structure, which can be seen on the next page. Basically the Kyrs in each branch are ranked according to their skill in their element.
Every Kyr is bonded to a human. Kyron being a fairly new planet, they are still setting up the Circle, and require humans to help them achieve their full strength. There seem to be other ties between humans and Kyrs, but they are yet unknown.

Miscellaneous RP Info
* Although anyone can enter Kyron through the portal on IC Terr's property, a human that is bonded to a Kyr does not need a portal; they merely need to mentally call for Jahara (or another fully grown Kyr), at which point the Kyr will teleport you to Kyron. Child Kyr can teleport themselves, but it is not until they are fully grown that they can teleport a human. There is no need to roleplay the human calling a Kyr for transportation unless you would like, though.
* Bonded humans are able to communicate mentally with their Kyr from the child stage on, and also with all other adult Kyr.
* Bonded humans are welcome to join the RP even if their Kyr is still a lock or otherwise unable to join them.
* Other breedables are welcome in the RP on a case-by-case basis (meaning PM me if you've got a breedable you'd like to bring in) and some can be bonded to a Kyr in place of a human (again, PM me).
* All Kyr have an excellent sense of hearing due to their large, sensitive ears. Their hearing is approximately five times the quality of human hearing.
* Kyr fur/hair is very fine and shiny, and has excellent insulating properties. Sometimes the Branch of Crafts collects shed fur for textile purposes.
* Kyr are omnivores, although the Circle's food supply is 99% vegetable.
* Pregnant female Kyr eat LOTS of tomatoes during their pregnancy, as the tomato is said to prevent birth problems. Unfortunately, the Kyron tomato in particular lends itself to particularly malodorous breath; bad breath is often the first public sign of pregnancy.
*Lots of RPing info can be found on pages 6-12ish of the old old thread.
*Kyr are somewhat conscious during their lock stage - kind of like they're half-asleep. They will retain some memories, but not with perfect clarity.

Kyr start out life as a lock of hair tied with a ribbon. Both the colors of the ribbon and the hair give clues as to the coloration of the grown Kyr. Be sure to keep the lock in a safe place. The lock is about the size of a human hand.

After 2-3 RL weeks, the lock will mature in a burst of it's chosen element to a child Kyr. At this point, the Kyr will choose a mage to apprentice and begin their training. With RPing, the Kyr may be promoted to a mage before it grows. Children Kyr are about shoulder height.

In 2-3 RL weeks your Kyr will mature to adult. At this stage, your Kyr can breed and assume roles higher than those of a mage, although if you do not roleplay your Kyr will remain an apprentice (which certainly isn't good for his/her self-esteem!). Adult Kyr stand about six inches above a human, and can be ridden if your Kyr will stand for it.

Shop Rules
1. Please don't PM the staff members unless we ask you to. Instances where you might PM are: you're doing a pet trade with us, you won a custom in an auction.
2. RP is NOT mandatory. However, in order for your Kyr to move up in rank you MUST RP them learning about their magic. If there are no available mages in your Kyr's area, Jahara will teach if asked.
3. Personal arguments and grudges must be left at the door. Take it to PM, otherwise you will be greylisted.
4. If you have a problem with me or my shop that you can't keep to yourself, please send me ONE PM explaining yourself and I will do my best to rectify things.
5. No stealing. Terr and the other staff have worked very hard on this shop. We've got eyes and ears all over Gaia - we will find out if you steal something.
6. Please don't stretch the page. You will recieve one warning on this before being greylisted.
7. You are welcome to bump and to chatter, but please keep all OOC talk (including bumps) in double parentheses. (( )) We are lenient on this (read: gentle reminders are given) but if it is a chronic problem more serious action may be taken.
8. We do, in fact, have lives. Please be patient with us if your growing takes longer than usual or if the shop goes on hiatus.
9. Please don't whine or beg.
10. Please don't use L33t or chatspeak here. I'm not a grammar or spelling nazi, but if "u tak lik dis" you will be politely asked to leave.

FAQ
How do I get one?
= The shop will have periodic flatsales, auctions, raffles, and other events for you to buy in. We also accept pet trades.

Can I give away, auction, sell, trade, etc. my pet?
= In a flatsale, auction, or raffle, you may choose at the time of your winning to give your prize to someone else. If you wish to transfer ownership later (after the cert has been made with your name on it), this can be done for a fee of 500g. If you feel you don't want your pet anymore, you can give it back to the shop, where we will resell it. You may not auction, resell, etc. your pet.

Do you accept items?
=It depends. Terr accepts all letters at mid-GEN in flatsales, auctions, and raffles. Other items may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Can I have a job here?
=If there is an open position, it will be posted. Additionally, we could always use more colorists. If you would like to apply to be a colorist, please PM Terrenity with samples.

You refused my pet trade!!
=Not a question, but please don't take it personally if this happens. It may be that we are too busy to color a pet for you. Also, Terr doesn't generally do trades for pets that don't have an active shop or for most pixel pets.

Can I reserve a Kyr before the beginning of a flatsale?
=No. Period.

Can I get a breeding spot if I have no one to breed with?
=If there is an open spot, yes. We will reserve the spot for you for seven days to give you time to find a mate. If, after seven days, someone else wants your spot, you lose it, but you don't have to pay anything.

Why did (so-and-so) get a Kyr for free?!
=Probably because they have been a great friend to me or have helped me out somehow. Don't beg for one, please. It is our shop, after all.

Do you really expect me to read this whole page /and/ the next page?!
=Not really. This page will be sufficient, although if you're going to RP I strongly advise that you read both pages.

Why won't my Kyr move up in rank?
=Probably because you aren't roleplaying them enough. Roleplaying in private journals is fine, but I'd like a link so I can promote your Kyr!

I don't understand the branches/areas/rankings!
=Did you read the second page? Most of the info you'll need will be there. If you still don't understand, feel free to post here and I'll try and explain. smile

Can my Kyr die??
=The lifespan of the average Kyr is equal to about 84 human years, meaning your Kyr will probably outlive you.

What kind of noises do Kyr make?
=Kyr can speak english almost immediately after emerging from their lock, although it can take a while for the Kyr to become completely fluent. Also, Kyr make horse-like noises and can whistle through their teeth.

Shouldn't my fire Kyr be.. red, or something??
=Nope. Coloring is random in regards to branch. Occasionally a Kyr will be colored specifically to match their element, but.. not usually.

Any two adult Kyr (they do not have to be opposite genders - Kyr are just special like that) can reserve a breeding spot if one is open! There are two types of breeding:
Lifemates
Kyr that choose to be lifemates are forever bonded together. They will never mate with another Kyr. The decision to be mates-for-life is free, but you absolutely must RP the Kyr falling in love (we're talking minimum of twenty posts per Kyr (or ten if both Kyr are RPed by the same person) on their developing relationship). Breeding two lifemated Kyr costs 3k, and the couple will produce 3-6 locks with an increased chance of rare mutations.
Regular
A regular breeding can be done between any two Kyr that are not lifemated, and the couple is not bonded for life. There is no RP required for this type of breeding. Breeding two Kyr that are not lifemated costs 3k as well, but produces only 2-4 locks, with a decreased chance of rare mutations.

What Do I Do With the Babies?
* The owners may decide amongst themselves who wants to keep what. Each owner may keep as many locks as they wish.
* You may give one or more locks from your breeding away to someone. Please notify me and the person you're giving them to if you do this.
* Locks that you don't wish to keep or give away can be given back to the shop, where they will be resold at flatsale price, OR...
* You may hold an auction/raffle for ONE lock from each breeding. In an auction or raffle, 50% of the proceeds return to me. You MUST notify me if you hold an auction/raffle, so that I can approve it and make it official. Max proceeds from either case are 30k in total. Contests may also be held on a case-by-case basis.
