xP Haven't updated in a while huh..
Anyways, Nintendo has finally announced the re-designed version of the Nintendo DS! whee NOA is expected to talk about the US release date in a few hours..

Besides that, all we know is that it's expected to come out in Japan for a couple thousand yen which is equivalent to 140 dollars U.S (Probably meaning it will cost the same as the DS's we have now)
Crack open those piggy banks!!

Nintendo.com is redesigned! Check it out for yourselves: www.nintendo.com
(And on the very day that I get my copy of Mario Kart DS xd ; )

* Gamespot.com gives Mario Kart DS a 9.2 out of 10. "Mario Kart DS represents a significant step forward for Nintendo's much-loved racing series, and not only because it's the first to feature online play. Mario Kart DS is without a doubt one of the best games to hit the Nintendo DS to date. The game plays every bit as well as any of its predecessors, and adds just enough new features to the mix to make it worthy of your attention, even if you're still playing any of those games on a regular basis. The online play is undoubtedly the icing on an especially yummy cake, and even if you're not in a position to sample said icing, a yummy cake without icing is still a yummy cake." - Gamespot.com

Rules:

* Lets keep it simple, if you have nothing good to post don't post anything at all. In other words, if you don't like Mario, the game's he's starred in, or Nintendo for that matter don't post here. -Posts that do not comply with this rule will be reported.

* Attempt to keep the topic Mario Kart DS related or any of the Mario Kart games for that matter.

* Bumping is allowed; No spam, please.

* Please don't be so stupid as to quote this entire post. It'll piss me off and piss a lot of other people off.

* I should add a few more rules as the release date approaches.

"The acclaimed Mario Kart series has gone wireless! Race and battle with up to eight karts at once, regardless of whether or not everyone has a Game Card. The all-star cast includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, Bowser, and Toad.

Mario Kart DS will be the first Nintendo game to take advantage of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's free wireless gaming service. With more than 30 new and classic racetracks, racers will be able to show their style as they aim for the finish line.

Racing Together!

As we all know, Mario Kart Ds is wifi multi player!

But why don't we do something to make things interesting.

Why not have a competition between us Gaians to see who is the best Mario Kart racer?

Well that is what this part is for!

Coming soon will be details on the first Gaia Online Mario Kart Competition.

Details should be filled in by tomorrow so stay posted.

Also, we at this post will have a list of Gaian Mario Kart players hoping for a race for other. That part will also be full detailed tomorrow.

So stay close to this thread, and await with glee for what will be one of the best games this year and one of the best Ds games until the next one!

-----------------------------

Entering the competition

Pre-Karting

Well, you need your equipment, but you can still be part of the competition before hand. This stage is named Pre-Karting.

Pre-Karting is where you know you will get the game and also you are able to play the game via WiFi. To become a Pre-Karter, all you have to do is pm me and I sall add you to the Pre-Karter list. But theres a catch. So the list doesn't become cloged up there will be a time limit.

Don't worry. All that'll happen is that you'll be taken off the list but also pm'ed. You will be alouded to re-enter the Pre-Karting list unless...

Pro-Karting

This stage is when you have the game and are able to race using WiFi.

To enter the races and competition first you need to Pm me to say that you have entered the Pro-Karting stage. I will then either, ask for one race or pass you onto another Pro- Karter that is willing to race others so that Pre-Karters can become a Pro-Karter.

Reason for this? Well it's for proof. Anyone could that they have the game and are able to race others using WiFi, but be lieing.

Now when you are a Pro-Karter you can now take part in races and competitions!

PP-Karter

This has nothing to do with entering, but I thought about putting it here. PP-Karters means "Pro Proof-Karters". These are Pro-Katers that are willing to race with Pre-Karters to make them Pro-Karter. Simple!

-----------------------------

Racing and Compeition

Deatils

We now have enough for our first Mario Kart Ds compo'!

The compo' will last Three rounds.

First Round
16 racers

Players will be draw at random and be placed in a 4 player race against each other. There will be four group racers were we take the first and second place into the next round. Player who are third and fourth will sadly have to be left until the next compo.

Second round
8 racers

Players will be put together to race again for a place in the final. Same rules go. Finish first and second overal and you are through to the final.

Final
4 racers

This is a flat out race of the best racers. Remember. This is your chance to shine!

Rules

1)Disconecting is an incent loss.
2)If you are not there to race you will be put in last and no qualify for the next round.
3)No excusses. You lose, you LOSE. Don't be messing the Compo up saying you won when you did. You'll be taken off the Compo and gain a "+". Three equals you are kicked out of our compos.

You have been warned.

Tracks/Courses
Mario Kart DS features an impressive, 30 Courses to kick a** on.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Nitro Grand Prix
Mushroom Cup

- Figure-8 Circuit
This figure eight shaped courses boasts a wide racetrack with easy corners. It's ideal for constant top-speed racing.

- Yoshi Falls
Huge waterfalls cut through this course. Try to hit as many dash panels as you can, and don't follow the water over the edge.

Flower Cup

- Desert Hills
This course built in the middle of the desert tends to be quite bumpy. Watch out for fireballs and always watch out for the Pokeys. xP

- Delfino Square
Take a lightning fast tour through the back streets of Delfino Square. Steer clear of loose crates, and be prepared for harrowing hair-pin turns.

Star Cup

- DK Pass
Covered with snow and ice, DK Pass is as dangerous as it gets. Tight turns and runaway snowballs make for nail-biting fun on DK's home turf.

- Tick-Tock Clock
With sweeping clock hands, grinding gears and a massive pendulum you're guaranteed to stay on your toes.

Special Cup

- Wario Stadium
Hit the dirt in Wario Stadium, where huge jumps and bone-rattling bumps make for an action-packed race.

- Peach Gardens
Princess Peach's tranquil gardens are the perfect backdrop for a tight race. Don't drive through the flowers, and keep an eye out for Chain Chomps on the loose!

Retro Grand Prix
Shell Cup

- SNES Mario Circuit 1
Pulled straight from the SNES of Super Mario Kart, this narrow course is further complicated by the pipes that protrude from it's surface.

- N64 Moo Moo Farms
Cows graze peacefully on Moo Moo Farms, but this dirt track is infested with Monty Moles! Avoid these pesky pests when they poke their heads out.

Banana Cup

- SNES Donut Plains 1
Super Mario Kart veterans are sure to recall the twists and turns of this nerve-racking track. Stay focused, or you'll get muscled in the grass.

- N64 Frappe Snowland
This popular Mario Kart 64 track returns with it's snow-covered roads. The snowmen that block the path will knock you over if you hit them.

Leaf Cup

- SNES Koopa Beach 2
Watch out for deep pools of water and rough sand as you cruise the Koopa Beach 2 track. This is a short course, so there's no time to lose!

- N64 Choco Mountain
This mountain path is brimming with hazards. Whether you're dodging a boulder or testing your nerve along a cliff edge. Choco Mountain is no joke! (This track pisses me off. D: )

Lightning Cup

- SNES Choco Island 2
Choco Island 2 takes you off the asphalt and into the mud. Little ramps scattered along the course are more likely to slow you down than to launch you over trouble, so keep your freakin' eyes peeled!

- N64 Banshee Boardwalk
This boardwalk was made for racing. Narrow straightways and spooky hallways make for some of the most unpredictable racing action you've ever seen!

Game Modes

In addition to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Mario Kart DS features five different game modes. VS and Battle are available in Multiplayer Mode for up to eight players, and all modes are available for single players.

Grand Prix

In Grand Prix Mode, the driver who earns the most points at the end of a four-course Cup is the victor. Mario Kart DS features eight different cups, with each cup featuring four different tracks.

Time Trials

Your object in Time Trials Mode is to get the fastest time you can on a single track. You can save your best runs as ghost data and share them with a friend.

V.S

In Single Player Mode, you'll race against computer-controlled karts. In Multiplayer Mode, you'll race against human opponents who play using their own Nintendo DS systems.

Battle

There are two types of battle matches: Balloon Battle and Shine Runners. In Balloon Battle, your goal is to pop your opponents' balloons before your own balloons are popped. In Shine Runners, the driver who collects the most Shine Sprites is the winner.

Missions

In this mode, you are given sets of specific missions you must clear in order to move on to the next set of missions. You can be sure that a big surprise awaits at the end.
