[@] General Rules_______:: Read them, learn them, love them. Common sense: Now, we could separate all these out and make them their own special rule, but really they are common sense, but sadly a lot of people seem to lack common sense. Consider this your one time warning. You violate us we violate you. It is just that simple. Anyhow, we'll now be moving right along. Don't steal: The art, the graphics, the front page, or anything here. It's great if you want to make a Xanth based shop, but do something of your own, and don't copy us! Listen to the staff! If they ask you to stop doing something then stop and don't blatantly ignore them, and finally respect each other and be kind to each other. It isn't that hard. Don't bring ugliness and rumors about others into this place, please. We don't need it.
Feel free to talk: This is an out of character thread, and so you are free to talk about whatever you wish without having to mark it as out of character statement with parenthesis or whatever, but keep it within the Gaia ToS, please! Along with talking I shall ask that if a topic makes someone uncomfortable and they ask for you to stop, then please stop and move onto another topic of conversation. If you are dead set on continuing that particular conversation then move it to another place (like AIM, MSN, etc). If there is an issue then please bring it to the staff and we'll try to work through it with everyone, but don't argue about it with each other.
Hiatus and Disappearance: We understand that you have a life, and that you have things you need to due in real life or perhaps you have restricted access. Please let us know these things. PM Odyssey Aeronall, Pales, or just post in the thread! If you just disappear into the great blue yonder then we will have to re-home your child with someone else. If you are quitting Gaia for some reason it is handy if you let us know that too before you fall off of the face of the earth. We generally wait and watch for two months before we begin the re-homing process. So try to stay as active as you can.
These are not 'pets': Referring to them as pets is mildly annoying to fellow owners or even the people that run the shop. They are children (that are 'reborn' from items), and as such are to be treated as adopted children by those that adopt them. Some may or may not come out with animalistic features, but that doesn't mean that they are any less human. So please try not to refer to them as 'pets'.
Begging is bad: We will ignore anyone that either begs for an event, for an item, or children in general. You wait your time and hone your skills and maybe you will get to adopt one of the children. Begging is generally looked down upon in all shops, but consider this your one and only reminder.
RP Rules
- What we would like to see.
01: Certain situations in RP must be cleared by us before continuing. When in doubt, ask first!
02: Make sure all people participating in RP agree to what you want to do, after checking with us.
03: No one can make you RP with them if you do not wish to!
04: We will run Shop RP sessions, please try to make it! Something may happen well worth it!
05.: If someone is forcing you into an uncomfortable RP situation, try to resolve it. If the other person doesn't let up, alert the staff!
06: No godmodding! NONE! NILL!
07: Don't start fights over RP actions. IC and OOC behaviors are seperate and ought to be kept that way!
08: RP is mandatory if you want your child to grow up any.
09: Journals are also mandatory. Just think of it as another form of RP, not stress.
10: In the event that you have two children, you are allowed to still have a single journal for both, however, if you choose to do this, use different color fonts for each pet and separate posts to express the events that occured within their point of view. This will, hopefully, prevent the meshing of the personalities.
11: While roleplaying more than one pet, use different colored fonts for each, to prevent the confusion of your fellow roleplayers.
12: You are not allowed to kill, maim, or otherwise cause perminant damage to another Xanthian within roleplay unless otherwise permitted by the owner.
13: If you give the consent to the other person to kill your child, you are not allowed to even dream of a new one, nor a miraculous recovery. "LOLZ IT CAME BACK FROM TEH DED!" ... No.
Flatsale Rules
- Expectations of behavior.
01: They will be kept in a seperate thread, and they will be prompt based.
02: An average flatsale will last at least 3 - 4 days. Depending on when everyone needed can be available.
03: Judging may take another additional day or two, depending on entry load. Be patient!
04: If you win a flatsale, have full payment ready, please. There are no pay-plans available.
05: Do not b***h, whine, complain, or make everyone feel bad. There is always next time.
06: Do not discourage others from joining the flatsale.
07: Send all trades to Odyssey Aeronall.
Auction Rules
- How to be a good Auction participant.
01: Don't bid unless you are ready for an RP intensive child!
02: Don't discourage, or bully people into not bidding.
03: Have fun and feel free to chat! Bumps are good too.
04: Please total your own bids!
05: If you can, please do not have your bid consist only items!
06: Do not retract bids. It's rude and frowned upon.
07: Please have your payment ready at the end of auction.
08: Auctions are random, auctions will last at the most a week!
09: We reserve the right to extend the auction if needed!
10: Random things about the item in each auction will be custom. They will be listed in the auction thread!
11: When auction is over send trades to Odyssey Aeronall.
Raffle Rules
- What to do when an Raffle happens.
01: Rarely will there be a raffle for anything custom. Most will probably be for abandoned children.
02: Raffles will either be free or cost at most 200g per slot, depending on the situation.
03: We will choose who wins through randomizer.org
04: No discouraging others from joining.

Sorry guys. I had to do it. But no. If you are going to type this way, knowing that it is a roleplay intensive child, then I doubt that you have the necessary skills to get one.

Ah! Much better! And yes, there are many ways that you can get one! Just check for events!
3. "Where is it that I can check for these events?"
Details of the event will be placed within the seventh post, and also a banner to link to the event will be placed within the first post. Also, an �alert� of sorts will be placed out at least a week in advance before the next event is to take place.
4. "Why are these pets so roleplay intense?"
Well, to truly enjoy the hard work that we place within these children, you have to have much character development. We choose to not merely have these be signature decoration to be looked at but never truly appreciated.
5. "Why journals?"
I am thinking that you are meaning, �Why have journals,� and to answer that, I merely have to say that, like many of us in real life, we�ve found it easier to write down sort of summaries of our daily life to both remember things later on, and to keep ourselves on track. These children are no different.
6. "Why are siblings not permitted to fall in love?"
Because, as in real life, it has been found that children who share the same genes can cause disturbing deformations within their offspring. We do not wish for this to happen, so we are merely not permitting it. Much as socity has laws against it, so do we.
7. "Yes, but, why are children who are not blood related not permitted to fall in love and have babies, either?"
Well, that�s simple. Although they are not blood related, and they will not cause deformations within their offspring, it is illogical for them to fall in love. They will be as siblings, and it would be just like incest, without the deformations. We do not wish for this kind of thing to be promoted within the agency. Also, if a single parent were to be playing out the marriage and such alone, it would be rather difficult, along with having to keep with dynamic of two children, and their child until they are within their own cert and given to a friend to roleplay. It would, essentially, be a sticky mess that we frown upon. Thus; it�s not allowed.
8. "So what about this whole marriage and breeding mess?"
There is no such �Breeding� within the agency. There is Dem, our Fertility Nurse, to enable the pregnancy of the designated �mother figure.� This both enables us to keep sexual acts completely out of the equation, and for same-sex couples to have babies just as different-sex couples could. Also, it enables for different-sex couples to pick out which has the baby. Although most would pick the woman to bore the child, the man in the relationship could, also. Such as;
Dem: �You sure?
Male: YES I WANT TO WEAR THE MOMMYSKIRT! D:;;
See? All very simple. Also, the �Mother figure� would have a new photo certed in the place where they previously were, showing a rather extended stomach and the like. They would also be provided a Polaroid-like photo for their own keeping of the pregnant �Mother.�
9. "Okay. And marriage? What would that entail?"
Marriage is a strong point of the society. We encourage it greatly. Within marriage, your child is able to make vows to their love, get a house of their own, and actually go through the process of getting a child. Also, they may, in the future, be allowed a pet, whereas the other children will not be able to, because they are currently housed in an apartment complex that does not permit pets.
10. "So non-married children aren�t allowed to have babies?"
Nope. They�re not. We strongly encourage them to set up strong family ties, and random visits to Dem with no real ties make her unhappy. An unhappy Dem is a very scary thing indeed! Do not make the lady able to make babies unhappy D;! She may just go on Strike!
11. "So.. What about this marriage ceremony? What�s special about it?"
Well, your child�s marriage ceremony is planned by one or both of the children within the couple, they set a certain date, the ceremony is played out in extensive roleplay with Albrecht, our resident Priest with the ability to soul-bind and make the relationship seem everlasting, but also to break the bond in extreme cases where divorce or separation is required. They will also be able to get a Wedding picture and a house afterwards. The house will be a joint thread between the two where they roleplay together and have friends over on occasion. It will be like a joint journal while they are to keep their own separate journals, also. Also, after they are wed, they will be given a last name by Albrecht for which their House and family will then forth be dubbed. Of course, the last names only apply for the first generations.
12. "And the babies of the Children?"
They will be the second generation. Their parents will have them during the whole time that they are a baby. They will be housed in one of their parent�s certs, held within the arms of the designated parent. When they grow up to be a child, they will placed within their own cert and they will have to be given to a friend of the parent�s adopters. They cannot be sold. They must be given. For free. If the adopters of the parents are unable to pick a friend to adopt the child, then there will be a free contest held by the Agency and the parents will be guest judges.
13. "What about generations?"
Well, all children adopted within a sale will be first generation. All of the first generations children will be second generation, second generation�s children will be third, so on so forth. However, in the case where a child falls in love and marries outside of their generation, it all depends on the �Mother� figure once more. If the �Mother� figure is first generation, the child will be second. Follow that down the line.
