Kura belong to family groups called clans, they usually consist of eight to fifteen-members. The rare exception is what is popularly know as a "lone wolf", this kura would most likely be from the Akithe clan, having been chased away from another clan at a young age. Should this kura be lucky, it could join a larger clan as it ages.

Rank order is established and maintained through a series of ritualized fights and posturing best described as ritual bluffing. Kura prefer psychological warfare to physical confrontations, meaning that high-ranking status is based more on personality or attitude than on size or physical strength. Loss of rank can happen gradually or suddenly. An older kura may simply choose to give way when an ambitious challenger presents itself, yielding its position without bloodshed. On the other hand, the challenged individual may choose to fight back, with varying degrees of intensity.

Selini Clan

User ImageThey tend to be a bit more solitary, and due to this have a mysterious air. They are gentle in nature and love the night, even a bit mischievous when the moon is full. These Kura have a particular affinity with water and shadows, allowing manipulation of both. They are also known as the best healers on the island, being able to assist any living thing.

Chazevo Clan

User ImageThis group believes themselves to be mother nature's gift to the earth, taking a lot of care in their appearance. They are very social animals with a hereditary gift of Sight; they are able to see into the past and future - usually favoring one over the other. Usually this ability will manifest in a series of dreams, it can however, be called upon at the expense of great mental strain. Also, another part of the gift of the Sight allows these Kura to communicate with the spirits of the dead. This clan is also known for a weaker immune system, as they are extremely vulnerable to illness due to their increased mental strain.

Precognition - allows a "percipient" to perceive information about future places or events before they happen.
Mediumship - Ability to see and communicate with the dead.
Psychometry - Ability to relate details about the past or future condition of an object, person or location, usually by being in close contact with it.

User ImageGenerally cold hearted and solitary; these Kura stick with family only. They have a short temper and it's safe to say their bite IS worse than their bark. They will not hesitate to act when threatened or bothered. They are natural born leaders and occasionally warriors, doing anything they must to be the last one standing.

Genokinesis - ability to mentally manipulate fire.
Telepathy - ability of humans and other creatures to communicate information from one mind to another, without the use of extra tools such as speech or body language.

User ImageThe family are specially know for their hot temper and generic behavior. Their drive for constant attention and more power often misguides their judgment; specially when it comes to family. Many of these Kura show signs of using the art of fire and a small telekinetic ability. Don't mess around with these guys when their angry! You could get burned...

User ImageThis clan consists of kura that prefer to live the solitary life, but they do not outright reject the company of others. They tend to be somewhat quiet and withdrawn. It might just be due to the fact they do not have a family clan of their own. Kura of this clan were either abandoned or orphaned at a young age.

Below is some information for you to know when Roleplaying as your Kura. When you are RPing please try to remember you are the Kura and not an owner of a Kura on the island. There are no humans here, a paradise untouched by man and intended to stay that way. An image of the island is pending, so please go with the details I give for now. <3


.: WHAT THEY EAT :.


Kura have been seen eating anything from fruit, nuts and berries to grass and dirt. Some are even known to be scavengers and eat meat and eggs when it is found. However, their diet usually does only consist of fruit and foliage.


.: WHAT'S AROUND :.

The Ocean - Clear blue waters rush the shore, a salty smell in the air. Many fish live in the shallow waters around the visible coral reef that surrounds the island. Some Kura even enjoy swimming in the shallow waters on hot days.

The Beach - White sand surrounds the isle, crabs sometimes seen scurrying about. Should one look they would even find the occasional sea shell or star fished that happened to get washed ashore. Kura can even sometimes be seen sun bathing on the beach.

The Foliage - Coconut trees line the beach before the denser forest area. Coconuts are a challenge for Kura to open, but the milk is a sweet treat should they manage to open the tough shell. Inside the forest lies multiple berry patches, the Kura frequenting them as they do produce delicious fruit year round. Other trees provide fruits such as mangos and bananas, each a delight for the Kura.

Fresh Water - Over the years of evolution, a fresh water lake was formed in the center of the Isle. Rarely are any animals seen inside the lake as it is their main source of drinking water.

A Volcano - An active volcano does rest on one corner of the island. As of now it is dormant and shows no signs of erupting. Most Kura respect this and tend to not venture to near it in fear of waking the volcano. An eruption would be catastrophic to the island.

Island Inhabitants - Many species of birds have taken residency on this Isle. There are birds of every color and every shape, each one seeking this place as a safe haven. On the forest ground are snakes and rodents as well as a lemur like animal. Insects taking to the land and air. Kura are the dominant feline creatures, where as a dingo like canine has been seen as a predator. Fish are a given in the ocean as well as the occasional sea turtle that comes ashore. Dolphins can also sometimes be seen in the distance. All in all it's a cozy little island with a standard food chain.

.: THE ALPHA PROCESS :.


So you want to know how to become an alpha? First things first is you need Ballentine's permission to even begin the processes. If you have been active in your roleplay then you will more than likely be allowed to try. If you haven't then it's encouraged that you start roleplaying first before you ask. Also note: To be an alpha you must be an adult. As a baby you cannot lead a clan - It's just wrong. Babies can however be in the beta position. ( Though that may change in the future as more Kura are introduced )

It all starts below!
With Ballentine's permission and good luck, the first thing you need to do is roll 2 100-sided dice. The reason you are doing this is to see if you are mentally prepared to take on the challenges ahead of you. Alpha challenges are a big thing to clans, obviously it means there might be a change in the near future. You have to be 100% ready. The goal when rolling the dice is to get a total higher than 100. If you succeed, this means you are obviously ready to continue on. If you fail, it means you may have a little more thinking and planning to do, you'll also have to try again in a week.

Examples:
Succeeding : Ballentine rolled 2 100-sided dice: 97, 68 Total: 165 ( 2-200 )
Failing : Ballentine rolled 2 100-sided dice: 17, 80 Total: 97 ( 2-200 )

Having passed, you now need to roll 2 4-sided dice. This is to determine if you are capable to fight the current alpha. You may have the mental preparation but are you physically strong enough? Your goal is to have your first number larger than your second number. Should you pass it means the alpha acknowledges you trying to battle for it's spot, setting you up for the next step. However if you are to roll doubles you automatically pass and get a +1. Should you fail, you must wait two weeks before trying again.

Examples:
Succeeding : Ballentine rolled 2 4-sided dice: 3, 1 Total: 4 ( 2-8 )
Failing : Ballentine rolled 2 4-sided dice: 2, 3 Total: 5 ( 2-8 )
+1 : Ballentine rolled 2 4-sided dice: 3, 3 Total: 6 ( 2-8 )

Also, if the current alpha has been RP active, they get a chance for +1 to +4 points. S/he will have to roll 1 4-sided die. The number they roll is obviously how many points they get. It's only done if the current alpha has been active.

Example : Ballentine rolled 1 4-sided dice: 3 Total: 3 ( 1-4 )

Now it's time for the both of you to roll 2 6-sided dice. This pretty much is as extensive as the battle for the alpha position goes. Both of you have the goal of having your first number larger than the second. This means your attack succeeds.

Examples:
Succeeding : Ballentine rolled 2 6-sided dice: 5, 6 Total: 11 ( 2-12 )
Failing : Ballentine rolled 2 6-sided dice: 1, 6 Total: 6 ( 2-12 )

Now if you fail, the alpha stays in it's place and you must wait three weeks before you can try again. However if the alpha fails that does not mean it's out. You receive a +1 bonus point if the alpha's attack does not succeed. If either should roll a double it's also a +1 and automatic succeed. At this point the most bonus points that can be received by the challenger is 3 - rolling doubles twice and the alpha's attack failing. The most points the alpha could have is 5 - having rolled a 4 and then a double.

Now what's with all the bonus points? Take a look at the total you have just rolled. The highest number will win, and this is where the bonus points come in. Obviously they are added to the totals. Should you win you will then be placed in the alpha's position. The alpha will then get to repeat the process right away to take the beta position should s/he choose. Or the alpha could accept defeat and move to the omega. However in one month s/he can try again to reclaim it's place. And should you fail at this point, you must wait a month until you can try again. If a tie does seem to happen, one can elect to stand down, or the process is once more repeated.

All new alpha get to stay in position for a month before anyone can challenge them. It's unfair to have someone win the spot only to lose it the next day.

.:. Soul Mates .:.

Your Kuras are very loyal and loving creatures, and they tend to grow very attached to their mates, however, this doesn't mean that your Kura can't breed with others that aren't their mates. Sometime this might arise to support the clan, or for many other reasons.


.:. Eggs! .:.

A breeding pair of Kuras will only be able to produce from 2-4 eggs.
This doesn't guarantee you that your kuras will produce the maximum amount of eggs allowed.


.:. Saying Goodbye .:.

Since Kuras are soulbound, only one egg from your litter will be able to soulbind to you if you choose.
You may only keep (1) generation of Kuras from your litter.
This rule only applies to your own litter.
You may, however, have as many of the same generation of Kuras as long as it comes from a different litter of another breeding pair.

As for the remaining eggs that your Kura has, you must pass it on to another owner or else that egg will not be able to survive. You may give your kura away to a friend or raffle it off. Contact the mule with your options.

Pet Trades : OPEN

Kura staff members are only allowed one pet trade per month. This is to prevent any one person from hogging or exploiting the ability. Also, all trades must be sent to the Kura Staff mule and approved by Ballentine. To request a pet trade with a certain staff member please send the following form to the mule:

Details on Trade : ( IE a custom for a custom or other options )
What Your Offering : ( IE one for one, two for one, etc )
Pet Examples : ( show HTML links or IMG )
Shop Link : ( HTML link to the shop in question )


If the staff member you requested a trade with is unavailable or uninterested, the request can be passed around to see if anyone else would like to accept. Remember that the staff is only limited to one per month.
