How did you come up with the name Chickens For A Fiddle?
A few years ago, I started a webcomic. It's never been posted online and probably never will be, I lost creative ideas for it fairly quickly so I didn't get too far. I couldn't think of a name for it. One day I was playing Oregon Trail II and was on a chicken-trading kick, seeing how many people in my wagon train had chickens and what they'd trade one for. One lady wanted my fiddle in exchange for 3 of her chickens. I was rather hyper, so I yelled out loud, "Chickens for a fiddle?! What a great deal!! ...What a great name for my comic!" And so it was. But the comic has only been seen by a few people and not by anyone online, so technically it's been a great name with no purpose. No sense in naming something I won't show to the public, so I'd been waiting for something else to use the name with. Since I couldn't think of a better name for the charity, this'll work just fine.
Why so many rules? In fact, why are you typing so much at all?
If people aren't willing to read, I'm not willing to donate. This is just the FAQ section, you don't have to read this part if you don't have any questions.
How did this charity start?
I've simply received a lot of generosity in the years I've been a member on Gaia. I decided it was time to stop being an item whore and be more generous myself.
You donated to me in the past but I'm on a new quest, will you donate again?
That depends how long ago your last quest was (the one I donated to), and if you've contributed at all to this charity in the past. I'll only donate once per quest, and only for 2 quests. If you apply for a new quest and I don't reply/donate, tough luck.
I applied and I've bumped a lot and you haven't donated yet. When do I get my gold?
It's not your gold until I donate it, if I even do. If you talk to me like that, I won't donate at all. I'm not obligated to just because you applied, even if you read everything and followed the rules. If you contribute regularly and I still don't donate, you might be doing something wrong.
You don't say how much gold you have, how do we know if you need donations?
I don't list how much gold I have mainly so people don't whine. "You have 60k but only gave me 500g, what the hell?" I really want to avoid that as much as possible. If you really want to donate, go ahead, it's not like gold expires and I'm grateful even if my e-wallet's full.
