What is it about horror stories that Gaians love so much? They love to be scared and put on their wits end. For some it may be the rush they get from the adrenaline of fright. For others it might be the concept and not the slightest bit frightful. Whatever the case, nobody can seem to get enough bump in his or her nights. But what would they do if their nightmares where brought to life?

Jan. 05, 2005- At last all the new owner's tags and journals have been set up! Now we can soon look forward to babies and RP! Let's get this shop a rippin and a roarin andm ake this place a huge success! Kay? =D
Nov. 25, 2005- Well the flatsale was a complete flop. Not ONE person interested, so we had to cancel it. We will attempt to resell the children after the holiday season. But! We have something else in stored for you. Prepair yourselfs for the upcomming Christmas Auction! Yes that's right, Christmas. We have some lovely children for you themed around the wonderful holiday that is Christmas. It's just not quite what you expect. >D

[Story Banner to Come Soon]

Down in the darkest streets of Gaia, amongst the grittiest and dirtiest of places that most Gaians would be ashamed to admit they would visit, lies a large old-fashioned library. On the outside it looks amazingly clean and beautiful, which is odd for the part of town it lies in. And it seems to just give off a radiant welcoming glow that seems to pull you inside.. But watch out, once you enter this place its warm clean glow seems to almost instantly shatter.

Inside this here place are rows upon rows of books and movies that all seem to be covered in dust and spider webs. Upon closer inspection you see that these books are mostly horror novels, with even a few movies in the media section. It seems whoever founded this place has a love for the paranormal.. But who could own such a place?

Just as these words pass through your mind, a man who could be no older then about his late 30's comes up to you and gives you an alluring grin, before taking a deep bow. He's dressed in refined Victorian dress and holding an old fashioned oil lamp in his right hand. After standing and looking to you again he smiles, before speaking in his crisp Romanian accent, "And what might you be doing down in these parts? Activities you might not be so proud of?" he asks, and you give him silence in return. To this he shrugs.

"Oh well, that is none of my business.. Welcome to my library! I do hope that you will enjoy your stay. Please come right this way and I will give you a card to my beloved collection, then you can borrow any book you like!" He says with almost perfect charisma, and perhaps it is for this reason you just feel compelled to follow him.

As this unnamed man leads you through his library, you can't help but feel like your being stared at.. And it seems to be coming from the rows and rows of books. The creepiness of this place seems to be going through the roof on your scale meter, yet somehow you just can't bring yourself to leave.

After a few minutes of walking the man finally stops and tactfully twirls into the chair behind the desk, before slipping a form your way. "Please my child! Just fill out this form and I shall give you a card. Then you are welcome to come and borrow some of my collection any time you would like! I assure you we have some mighty great reads," he says with a suave smile, and you can't help but blush at his charm. What is it about this odd man that seems so... controlling?

After a few moments of filling out the form in the blood red pen the man gave you, you slide it back to him and try to dodge his gaze. He then smirks and quickly skims over it, before pulling a card from his jacket pocket. It seems blank at first, but after a quick twirl in his fingers it is already filled out with your name and address.. How did he do that?! Before you can ask you have already slipped the card into your wallet, to which he lets out a grin.
"Please enjoy your stay. If you need any help just call for me.. The name is Dracula."

General

1. The shopkeepers are gods. Okay. Maybe not GODS. But we're the bosses here, and don't mess with the bosses. If you do you will be smitten and added to the blacklist. If you are told there are no Horror Stories available and continue to pester, you will be ignored even when there ARE some available.

2. Do not pester the thread about when the next flat sale or auction is. We'll give you plenty of notice.

3. You must be literate. That means no l33t/n00b speak. Unless your literate and being playful at the moment. I don't expect perfect grammar and spelling (It'd make me a hypocrite) but I do expect to understand what you are saying.

4. No stealing art! We work very hard on our artwork! It's not fair for you to steal it and take credit! If you wish to use our art please PM us asking our permission and the reason why you want it. With due credit we probably will give you permission to do so.

5. I reserve the right to refuse sale to offending parties or any that I choose IE. if you've rubbed me the wrong way in the past. don't expect me to be too fond of you here ether. I also reserve the right to remove ownership of rules breakers with no obligation of refund. You break the rules bad enough to make me take your child away, then what you paid for it is your tough luck, buddy.

6. No flaming. Period. Basically, don't go starting fights in here. If you have a problem, take it out with the person in PMs. I find it rather sad when people feel the need to start fights in public to get attention, or do it so they have others to have their back. If you have a problem, address it out of the thread, not here.

7. Keep your angst to a minimum. Yes, I understand how saddening it is to loose a raffle, auction, flat sale, etc. But please, guilt tripping others will not get you a child. Patience and kindness will, on the other hand. If at first you don't succeed, try again. I try my best to make everyone happy.

8. None-owners are allowed to RP. BUT Please keep in mind this does not meat that you can ICly get a library card and borrow a book. And also keep in mind the owners rules and fallow them as well.

9. Have fun! I made this shop so people can have fun! Not so they can be unhappy and miserable. Just try to kick back and relax okay? Hugs are good. Yes yes.

Owners:

1. All rules above account to owners as well.
2. You are expected to post in the thread as often as possible. This means you have to show your face in the thread at least once a week. And if you cannot RP we at least expect one post in your diary once a month. If two months go by and you do not post and do not have a decent explanation as to why, your child will be taken away and resold. I'm sorry, but these are RP intensive.
3. No killing IC. At least not without permission. We are aware that a lot of the children will be based off murderers and psychopaths, but please no god modding or killing. At least not other stories. If you want to have a random dead body show up in your child's bedroom that's fine. Just so long as it doesn't involve anybody else's characters without their previous permission.

A: Yup, any horror story. Just so long as we can clearly see factors in it that would be scary or frightening.

A: .. How about No? Learn what literacy is and then we'll talk.

A: That's much better. Sadly we can't just give you one on the time, that wouldn't be too fair. But if you wait around for a flat sale or an auction I'm sure you'll eventually get one.

Q: Will there be pet trades?
A: Yes of course! Tenshi loves pet trades. Although it must be fair to the artist and the colorist. So if you're not willing to offer two for two (one for you and one for a friend? ) , you must be willing to offer payment for the other. Or in extreme cases like if Tenshi REALLY wants the pet and she's willing to pay the colorist herself just to complete the trade. XD

Q: Can they breed?
A: Yes, I'll be sure to work out some kind of breeding concept. :3

Q: Do they have to be real stories or can I make them up?
A: In certain cases we will allow you to make up horror stories. (Breeding possibly?) but don't count on it being a very frequent event. We would prefer that they are previously existing stories.

Q: The Story I wanted is already taken!!
A: I'm sorry, but we're going to have to ask you to pick another story then if you receive a membership. It wouldn't be very fair if two people had the exact same story, and it would be mighty confusing for the child resulting from it!

Flat sales:

These will be handled in the now traditional essay contest manner. That is where you are given a specific amount of time to fill out one of multiple given prompts, send the entries into the shop account mule, and then have them be judged by the owners to pick out winners of specific children. Upon winning you will be expected to give a previously mentioned amount of gold to the shop account mule. Upon receiving the money you will receive your child.

Raffles:

These will be held in a typical raffle manner. Where there will ether be a specific amount of time given to order tickets, and an unlimited amount of slots. Some raffles will be free, some will be charged per ticket. But raffles will be held to re-adopt any abandoned children (Let's hope this doesn't happen) or any children we would rather raffle then flat sale or auction.

Customs:

For those of you who are not patient enough to wait for any of the above sales. You can receive a custom through special "bribes". When we are accepting these bribes we will put down below what item/amount of gold we are accepting. So if there is an offer open and you just cannot wait to get your dream horror story, send us a PM and start the trade.

Pet Trades:

Pet trades are very much welcomed. But please do not be insulted or offended if we turn you down. Both Tenshi and Pukio are very busy with real life and other Gaia affairs, so we might not have time to accept any pets that have heavy RP requirements. Or some pets just might not suit our fancy. But if you do offer a pet trade, it must be fair to both workers. That means what you're basically looking at is two premades for two premades, or two customs for two customs. Unless it is something ether Tenshi or Puki REALLY wants. Then they will work something out on their end to make it fair for the other owner. See the staff profiles to see desired pets.

Book:
While this stage is called "book" it doesn't necessarily have to be a book. It can be a movie, a comic book, a textbook, any form of media that tells the horror story. I mean come on, all libraries nowadays have tape sections! During this stage your child will show no form of possession, they'll just seem like an ordinary book. Once time has passed and you have finished reading the book, that's when things start to get weird..

Baby:
You might have noticed that the book has disappeared! Or at least it isn't where you had it last. Instead when you went back to return the book to the library, you found a baby instead! At this age they will be learning all their firsts. First words, first steps. They will be a typical whiney smelly baby. At this stage they have absolutely no memory of their past life, and just seem like perfectly normal children despite their deformities.

Child:
Your child seems to be developing a personality now, and seems to have a couple vague memories of their past lives. They might now be dealing with the problems of teasing for whatever might be wrong with them to make them so scary.. So you might want to watch out. Keep a close eye on them at this stage, because this is when some of the children can become very dangerous.

Teen:
Oh boy, here come the hormones. This will most likely be the most difficult stage in your child's life. Ache's popping up, their voices are changing, and their powers (if they have any) are becoming a little difficult to control. They can breed now, if they can manage to find a mate suitable enough to tolerate their misfortunes, but the price for breeding will be they loose some of their memories forever, so you might want to wait on this. Best watch out during this stage, if you thought childhood was bad, you're going to be in for a big ride.

Adult:
Ah, they have now grown into a full horror tale creature. They have almost all their memories of their past lives, and can now read the books or watch the movies they originated from. They have very unique personalities that define themselves, and can still pick mates and breed. This would be the most suitable stage for them to breed in though, because they wont be sacrificing any bits and pieces from their past.

Even dear old Dracula doesn't know what this stage holds, or at least if he did he won't tell anybody. This stage is a complete mystery that only the most devoted horror stories can achieve.

Quests will be a rather big part of your Horror Storie's life. Considering it is the only way for the child to grow. Do not fret though, they wont be that difficult. (At first. Bwa ha ha ha) There will actually be two types of quests. Growth Quests, and Memory Quests. Both are vital to your child's growth. Each quest will come after each other. Going in a pattern of Memory> Growth> Memory> Growth> Memory> Growth> Memory> Memory> Super duper rare Growth. The only stage that will not require any quests is the transition from Book to Baby. That is mandatory once a post has been made in your diary about the completion of reading/viewing your book/movie.

Memory Quests

With memory quests you will be given a task you must perform. Whether it be collecting a specific item in relation to the child's life, or visiting a place that might strike their memory. This is the only way for your child to remember anything of their past adventures. For if they read or watch what story they came from before their advanced stage it will result in a traumatic and drastic result you most probably will not like. Basically don't do it. XD If you wish you can choose to not do a memory quest. But it will delay their advancement to their next stage.

Growth Quests

Growth Quests will come after Memory Quests when your child is ready to ascend to his or her next stage of life. They will be handled pretty similar to memory quests, except the quests will resolve around different objectives. These quests MUST be completed in order for your child to grow to their next stage. There is no time limit.

Breeding is pretty much the same here as it is anywhere. Two consenting adults come together in a relationship (That we would appreciate if you didn't RP. Keep it PG13 peoples) and nine months later a baby is born. In order for two Horror Stories to mate they require a few basic things.

1. A bond that can be proven through RP. (Whether it is true love or promiscuous is up to you. We just don't want any breeding whores)
2. They are of breeding age.
3. You have the money to pay for it

Now there's one thing that should be said about "Breeding Age". Your child can technically mate during their teen stage and have a child, but the price for having a baby before adulthood can be savvier. The cost of having a baby during their teen stage means they have to loose some of their previously acquired memories. And that means they will never be able to go to their ascended mystery stage.

Homosexual breeding IS allowed. If Chucky from Child's play can have a baby with another doll, or Dracula can mate with his dead wives even though he has no heartbeat, then by damned homosexuals are welcome to reproduce too.

That's all there really is to know about the RP basics. Now down to the nitty-gritty.

Breeding will cost 15k resulting in one child. An extra 5k will be added if you want a group picture of the mother and father during the pregnancy. (Big belly and what not)

Breeding is CLOSED for the time being.

This is where you would like to be. 8D The happy ending list is the equivilant to a white list. Which like in horror movies has to be good right? If your on here, it means we luff joo and we'll make sure people know it. People on the white list hold higher priority in the shop. So give them luff for their awsomeness.

Spooky Music List:
This is not a good place to be. This is the grey list. Much like how in horror movies when the spooky music comes, it means bad things are afoot. If you are on the grey list, it means you have done something to anger the staff but we think in time we will be able to forgive you. Children will not be taken away if you are on the grey list. But you are banned from posting in the shop weather you are an owner or none owner untill futher notice.

You Died List:
This is most certainly where you DO NOT want to be. This is the black list so to speak. Like in horror movies, you've just been eaten by the horrid spooky monster/zombie thingy. Dead and never to return. If you are on this list your children will be taken away, and you are here by forbidden to post in the shop. So please don't make us put you here.
