Hey everyone,
Koukouba Caves is under new management. We're going to be getting some new banners and hopefully some new certs to give the shop a facelift, but the name, pets, etc. won't be changed. I hope it'll all be for the best for everyone.

To the other staff: if I change something you don't want changed, please feel free to fix it or ask me to fix it!

Koukoubas are small, fuzzy, batlike creatures that live in the beautiful caves of Kouba, a mostly uninhabited island somewhere in the South Pacific. They are (mostly) friendly and very curious of the few humans living on the island.

Can koukoubas speak a human language?
Naturally? No, no, they have a language entirely of their own. For the purposes of roleplaying, of course, you may just translate it into english. When interacting with people, however, communication is minimal. Koukoubas may be able to pick up a few words, like a parrot would, but it's hard to say whether they actually understand them.

Are they usually sociable, or are they loners?
It just depends. Many prefer to live in large communities within the more popular caves of Kouba, but others lead more isolated lives.

How big are they?
They're not particularly large. Adults can grow to around two feet in height and have a wingspan of up to almost six feet. They weigh around two and a half, three pounds.

So, what about roleplaying the eggs?
They, uh... wiggle. They don't send thoughts, talk, or otherwise interact. They wiggle.

Do we have to roleplay them?
Well, even the most independent koukouba wants to get out and socialize a bit, every once in a while. It wouldn't be very nice to just leave him. They're not RP-required, but you'll be missing out on many of the finer priveleges of the Koukouba Caves if you don't participate at least once or twice.

Just your average koukouba. Telling the difference between genders at a young age is nearly impossible at first glance. Not until their young adult stage is it easy to separate the two.

Buying a Koukouba:

There are several different ways to obtain one of these adorable little critters, and each way has its own post, with any available to obtain.
If there are none available, than there are non available (unless you decide to order a custom, of course)!

Flatsales:

This is probably the cheapest way to obtain one. There will always be at least a 24-hour warning before the next flatsale, and there will usually be between 3-10 eggs.

Flatsale Rules:
~ A flatsale egg is 5,000 gold. (items valued at mid lucky devil)
~ You may only purchase one egg per flatsale.
~ The trade MUST be completed before your pet will be certed.

The first person to Post the egg and name they want, and send the trade will become that eggs owner ^_^

Auctions are usually for special editions, such as holiday themes.

The starting bid will always be 5k.
The autobuy will always be 200k.

The more expensive route, but you get to pick how your pet turns out.

Custom Pets are:

Regular (250k) - These will be limited to color changes only, but the patterns and colors are your choice and they may be as complex as you want!

Angelic/Demonic (300k) - These will be limited to color changes only, but the patterns and colors are your choice and they may be as complex as you want!

Lineart Edits (500K) - these may have expansive lineart edits, but the base must not change. The type of edit(s) and all colors/patterns will be of your choosing.

Occasionally, There will be a few koukoubas available through an RP contest.

There will be 5 slots per pet, and you will be given a prompt. Your work will be judged by staff members, and if you are declared winner, you will be awarded a koukouba.

Occasionally, koukoubas may be available through a lotto. Here's how it works:
There will be a maximum of 50 slots. They will be just 200g each!
The winner will be chosen using the Random Number function.

Breeding spots will occasionally open to active members who roleplay regularly.
Breeding will cost 6k.

Breeding couples must be male x female. However, two males or two females may raise the offspring (roleplay) as the parents.

A sucessful breeding will produce 2-4 eggs, and can only happen twice in each koukouba's lifetime.
You may give an egg to someone, keep it, or auction it off.

If you auction an egg:
You will receive 50% of the profit (you will automatically get to keep the first 6k).
You MUST get permission before opening the auction.
