ADVERTISING GUILDS

When one advertises a guild, they should be fairly thorough about what exactly they advertise. These are some things that one should include within their advertisement.

  • Include a Link. Including a link to your guild makes it easier for gaian's to access your guild. This will get you better business.
  • Make sure that you include a description. Having this will make your guild sound more fun and enjoyable for others, therefore, making people want to join it.
  • Add color. Color draws the eye. Do bright color for the important, and more calm colors for the not-so important stuff.
  • Include pictures. Pictures are like candy for the eye. Perhaps include some. This will spice up your advertisement.
  • Perhaps including a FAQ in your advertisement is a good idea. Then, you don't have to answer the same questions over and over.
  • Detail. In your description, include detail. This will make others want to join and also making your guild sound fun and interesting.
  • Provide information. That is always a good thing to have. People like facts, and facts are what they are mostly looking for.
  • Make sure that you include the name of the guild.
  • Proof read. Remember to spell things correctly and have good grammar. No one likes n00b talk.
  • Create a Poll. People are like magnets to polls. This will give your guild a better change at being looked at.
  • Say what type of guild it is. Different types are for different people. If you want certain types of people, give more detail.
  • Make sure that your links and pictures works. Some people are actually rude enough to turn away a guild if those don't work.
  • Having your title neat and organized will draw people to it. If it is all n00bish, then it will be more likely to be turned away than if it had good grammar.
  • Use different fonts. Bigger fonts attracts the eye. Use variety.
  • If your guild is hidden, I would suggest making it private so that the non-member can look at the posts and see what it is like under the cover. Never judge a book by its cover.
  • Proof read your advertisement. You may find some mistakes. There are certain people out there that won't join a guild if there are misspellings in the Ad or title.
  • Include [AD] in your title or [Recruiting] or both if you'd like. If you do that, people will know what it is for.

WHAT NON-MEMBERS SHOULD LOOK FOR

If you are a non-member, you should look for a couple things.

  • Things that interest you. Don't join something that you won't participate in. No one likes non-active members in their guild.
  • If their advertisement is well put together, it should be a nice, clean, organized guild. If it isn't, that is the Captains (or who-ever make the ad.) fault.
  • Ask questions. If you have a question, ask. It never hurts to.
  • Visit the guild. Check it out and see what it is like.

SELLING GUILDS

Only a captain should sell the guild. If you see a vice-captain selling it, then ask the captain if it is alright. When a captain sells a guild, it should include:

  • Name of the guild.
  • Price
  • A way to contact the captain.
  • Other. (Members, posts, if it is clean or not..)

BUYING GUILDS

If you are looking to buy a guild, make a topic with a title along the lines of "Looking to Buy" or "Buying Guild(s)". Including the following would be very helpful to sellers.

  • Price you are looking for
  • If you want members in it/no members at all
  • If you are looking for how much the guild has currently
  • How new it is
  • Post count

Here is an example:

[Title]
Looking to buy a guild.

[Inside]
13-17k
No members
Wanting about 3k in the guilds fund
Newer than 3-6-05
post count of 5k+

How nice of you to make this. ^-^
I added a link to this in my long, annoying post (#2)
