The young girl brushed a strand of her long, ebony-hued hair behind her ear. She stood on the balcony of her room, leaning again the railing. Smiling, her bright sapphire eyes sparkled as she gaze into the sky, watching as birds soared by. A soft, morning breeze blew by, causing the females long, black hair and small, lavender gown to flutter slightly. Suddenly, a frown was upon her pale lips as she heard a small chirp. Glancing down, she noticed a small bird standing there as it chirped urgently. The girl bent down, alarming the small creature and making it take a few hops backwards. She grimaced as she noticed the tiny creature try to take off, but suddenly cry out in pain, which broke her heart. She then noticed the fact that the bird's wing was twisted slightly, and was broken. She held out her hands slowly, just to show the bird what she was doing. The creature blinked it's beady eyes, took one nervous glance at the girl, and then hopped onto the palms of her hands. Smiling, she stood up, cradling the bird and walking back into her room.

The girl was dubbed Reliam Akusan, and she was, believe it or not, a princess. When Reliam was a merely a child, she had always been silent, but kind, always wanting to help another, as her parents had taught her to. One morning however, a fire had broken out within her home. Frightened, Reliam dashed through the house, searching wildly for her mother, father and the others. While she could have escaped easily, she still searched the house, her vision blurred by the smoke and her tears which slide down her cheeks. Suddenly, she felt arms around her, trying to drag her out of the house. Reliam's voice was broken and hoarse as she started screaming. "My parents are still in there! Let me down please!" She cryed, and struggled, but the person held them tightly, whispering gently. Finally, Reliam stopped struggling, sobbing in defeat. She learned that her mother and father had gone out earlier, and everyone else escaped. Reliam had suddenly stopped crying when she heard this, but then the next words had brought tears to her eyes once again. "You're mother and father got away from the fire...but now they're missing..." Reliam forced herself not to cry again, and shook slightly. Missing!? Where had they gone?! Did they abandon her?! Her grandmother, whom had also escaped the fire, hugged the girl gently. Silently, Reliam promised herself she would find her parents if it were the last thing she would do.

It's been years since that incident, and Reliam had been scarred for life. They, as in the staff of her family and her grandmother, had moved into another house. Reliam had become more silent, but also more caring.

She had walked back into her room, carrying the little bird gently. She then placed it on her bed, and walked over to a small cabniet. Tugging on the handle, she opened it and sorted through the items, coming out with a small, first-aid kit, and moving back to the bird. The small bird chirped nervously and hopped about her bed. Reliam bit her lip. She couldn't bind the bird's broken wing. Blinking her sapphire opticals, a small tune slowly flowed out. The creature stood there, and suddenly stopped hopping around, looking soothed. Continuing to sing, the princess sprayed the wing a bit and started binding the cloth on it.

Within minutes, it was done. Chriping happily, the bird nuzzled against Riana's hand, causing the girl to smile. The bird pecked at her arm, trying to scramble up to her shoulder. She picked up the creature and placed it on her shoulder, the bird clinging on tightly. "You need a name..." She paused, and then grinned. "How's Uta for a name? It means 'song'...it's quite pretty..." The bird chirped in agreement, and nuzzled Reliam again. "Well Uta, let's go take a stroll, shall we?"

Reliam's eyes widenened as she bent down on the grass, her heart thudding in her chest. The two of them had gone for a walk, as she suggested, and she was glad she did. Within the grass lay a locket with the initals 'R.A' on it. Her mother's name had been Riana Akusan...and this locket was familar. The locket sparked as Reliam plucked it from the grass, turning it over, as if to inspect it before she opened it. It opened with a small 'click', and tears streamed down the girl's face as she looked into the locket. A picture of her mother was on one side, on the other, a picture of her father. She had almost forgotten how they looked. Her body shook slightly as she stood up, Uta chirping gently. She clutched the locket tightly in her hand, and then slid it over her head, the locket now dangling on her neck. She held onto the locket, and glanced up and allowed her gaze to drift freely across the area. 'Mother...father...' She thought, her grip tightening. 'I'll find you...'
