School for Unwanted Delinquents
Alderbrook Academy, or better well known as the Last Resort to the few who knows of its true existence and not just the front it provides for the rest of the world, is exactly what the name it had been so aptly dubbed suggests. It is the last resort for all those lost causes that are too dangerous for society, but not dangerous enough for a life behind bars. May they be hardened criminals, petty thieves or even the odd innocents caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time, one way or another they all end up here. In the once renowned Chateau de Launay, a place more famous for its violent and scandalous past than it is for its historical significance or architectural value.
Although to many it is nothing more than a reform school for troubled youths the truth of the matter is the Last Resort is so much more. It is the final chance for redemption and once in there are only two ways out and that is to either prove you no longer pose a threat to the community or death. There are no rules or laws. Here, everything goes and in the five years that it has been running no one has yet to leave... at least not alive.

Chateau de Launay: A Brief History
Built in the late 15th century the Chateau de Launay first opened its doors to the public in 1857 as a prestigious boarding school for boys. Soon after its establishment it wasn't long before strange things began to happen. One after the other horrific accidents began to befall the staff and students of the prestige school. What soon followed was a long history of violence and debauchery that seemed to span on for more than fifty years, right up until the school's eventual collapse in 1908.
No one truly knows what really happened and any truth has long since been lost within the many whispered tales that even till this day continue to titillate the imagination and interest of all those who may have somehow come across them. From sexual liaisons between teachers and students to the mentions of hidden torture chambers beneath the school grounds, there has never been a shortage of rumors when it came down to the dubious repute of the once grand chateau.

The collars
Although technically a school, there is no disputing the fact that The Last Resort also serves as a juvenile prison. Every student is required to wear a collar. These are placed on them before they are even sent to the school and don't come off until they have served out their time and are allowed to leave. As well as acting as a tracking device the collars play two even more significant roles.
1. They suppress any powers the students may possess. Other than that they cannot do anything to restrict the strength of any one individual and considering most don't rely on their powers even with the collars the students are still more than a threat to those around them.
2. They can ultimately decide whether a student lives or dies. The school itself may not be surrounded by any kind of security measures designed to keep the students in, but there is one simple fact that will keep everybody from running and that is if they go beyond the boundaries the collars will instantly activate. If within five minutes they don't return to within the limits the collars will trigger a deadly amount of explosives that'll instantly kill the wearer.
Other than trying to escape, there is only one other way to set the trigger off and that is to try and remove the collar.

Available Facilities
The Chateau de Launay rests beside a glistening river and is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and a vast garden that incoporates all of the natural flora into its design. Over the years some extensive renovations have taken place in order to meet the needs of both the students and teachers.
As well as accomodations there are also many other facilities open for the use of the students.

Rules
I really didn't mean to write so much here. Everything is pretty much the standard must be literate, no cybering, godmodding, etc... But I do suggest you read them all.
1. This is a literate RP. So please in the name of all things holy be literate while in character. Write full sentences and use paragraphs. I'm sure you all know what they are and if by some slim chance you don't, well, obviously this isn't the RP for you. Everybody makes mistakes, so yeah, I'm not expecting 100% perfect spelling and grammar because I might as well leave too if that's the case.
2. Follow the Gaia TOS and keep things PG-13. Please take anything over to PMs, MSN or where ever else you want to. There is absolutely no cybering in here. Of course cussing and fighting is allowed. This is a school for delinquents after all, not for polite little society boys. Unless you can find a damn good and plausible reason for why one would end up here.
3. Do not use ** to donate actions while in character.
4. Use <> or (()) or [] or something to that effect when writing out of character so there will be no confusion as to whether you're in IC or OOC.
5. No god modding. People don't like it.
6. No killing off other characters unless you have the player's permission to do so.
7. Keep conversations civilized and respect everybody here. Insulting another person or flaming will not be tolerated. We're all here for a good time folks. Keep it friendly.
8. No spamming or bumping.
9. All characters must be male. This is yaoi after all. And yes, you can be a girl or have a girl avi and play a male character. Everybody is welcomed here!!! If not, well then I might as well ban myself (Yes, I'm a girl. Deal with it!).
10. You can create more than one character. However I do ask that you limit yourself to playing only two for a while before thinking of creating another one.
11. Only demons/humans will be accepted. Don't ask why only those two. I don't know. It just is. There are also no powers. The reason for this has been explained under the collar bit in the introduction.
12. All profiles should be sent to me via PM in blue to show that you have read the rules. Please do not post your profiles on the thread. They will be ignored.
13. Do not stretch pages please.
14. If you join this RP please don't just abandon it. I understand everybody has a life outside of Gaia and I'm not saying you have to post everyday or anything. This is mainly for those who join in the beginning and just leave and never post ever again.
