Favorite Weather: Right before a storm, the expectant feel of waiting for something to happen.
Dislikes: People. People who think they know anything (as he is of the belief that you can never know EVERYTHING). People who claim to know more about his fields of study, without having anything useful to teach him. Small children.
Fears: Making the one misstep that summons a demon and gets him ripped apart.
Personality: Arrogant and superior, with a layer of ice and scathing that usually means he spends 90% of his time alone. Has moments of quiet uncertainty that are rarely, rarely seen by outsiders, but would make him a much more livable person if he'd let them show.

Aoidei, singular Aoide.
From the three original muses, these mini-immortals are the "voices" of the gods they serve. They are servants of old, who praise and attend the temples, advise to a minor degree, and see to their masters needs. The mouths of their gods to the mortal followers.
They can fly, clean, cook and sing. They have no immediate powers themselves, save immunity to death by passage of time.

Coloring: Overall dark; dark skin with blood red hair, black wings.
Distinguishing Marks: None.
Muse: Bali was Scha's favorite guard and defender of his name. Though Bali had little interest in magic (or perhaps because of this), Scha considered him a refreshing change from his ambitious and greedy followers. Bali can be counted upon to defend Yschadeh's name possessively, even to the point of drawing the two knives he keeps sheathed at the small of his back.
Personality: Bossy, dictatorial, harsh, and sometimes violent. Tends to be overbearing and something of a control-freak when it comes to getting things done for Yschadeh; does, however, have the common sense to recognize his faults and let Varuna balance him.
- Name: Varuna
Coloring: Overall light; pale skin with gold hair and red-gold wings.
Distinguishing Marks: Gold tattoos across skin. More forthcoming on a regular basis. Often seen around butterflies, though he swears he doesn't know why.
Muse: Varuna was a minor scribe in one of Scha's temples until a chance encounter with Bali changed his status. A few quiet, sharp words reigned in Bali's temper when he would have made the situation bloodier than necessary; when the situation turned out for the better, Bali brought him to Scha's attention. Accepting his aide's endorsement, the Arcane brought Varuna into his 'household' of trusted servants; the two have worked as a smooth team ever since. Varuna has an apptitude for organization and patience, as well as the efficiency to get things done when Bali is frustrated.
Personality: Fair, even-handed, and logical. Thinks before he acts. Often provides the much-needed calm voice of reason that keeps Bali from blowing things out of proportion. Can and will snap at Bali to get him under control.
