That is what I wrote in the chatterbox. I got a lot of support and feedback; among those was the suggestion that I should start a petition. So here it is: The Bank Interest Petition

Keep in mind that we are not asking for a high interest rate so that everybody will be able to get gold easily and without effort. We are asking for a low rate that is proportional to the amount we deposit.

I disagree. I think such a system would either A) Have interest high enough to encourage people to be inactive and gain gold that way, rather than actually participate in the site, or B) Have interest so low that no one would bother with it, since they'd only get a few hundred extra gold a month anyways.

It just doesn't seem plausable.

I think your point is very valid. I wouldn't want a high interest, because then everybody would either get lazy or inflation would soar. Low interest, however, would be more beneficial than you think. The more you'd deposit, the more income you get. It'd be a good incentive for Gaians to work for their money when they first start out.
