The long awaited TODDLER QUEST is finally here!

Now, Drac and the various aunts and uncles (and everybody else who wants to get involved, with Drac's permission) need to find 20 different horseshoes for all occasions! They can be jewelry, they can be real horseshoes, they can be horseshoe shaped things, but they must either come from minishops or be drawn by somebody involved in the quest. And they need to be all different.

Oh, and you also need to find ... a TEA KETTLE! Yep. A tea kettle! Not a tea pot, but a good old fashioned tin tea kettle. And bonus points if you guys can figure out WHY you need to find it xd

Confused yet? HAPPY HUNTING!</center>

Basic Idea for my Fa'e
Highlight the area below if you want to see the details for my Fa'e idea.
Fa'e Idea: Devmani

Story:
I love studying mythology, the tales seem to reverberate with a touch of the truth, no matter how fanciful their origins may be. One of my favorites has always been the tale of Chiron, the noble centaur. Despite the reputation of his kind for being bestial and cruel, Chiron was different and known for his gentleness, wisdom and knowledge of healing. He was raised and blessed by Artemis, goddess of the moon. In a tragic accident, his best friend shot him with an arrow containing poisonous hydra blood. Since Chiron was immortal he could not die from the wounds, and lived in continual agony. In a final act of kindness, he beseeched Zeus to allow him to take the place of Prometheus, the titan who gave humans the gift of fire. Zeus agreed, and in an act of mercy removed Chiron's immortality to allow him to finally be free of the pain, and rewarded his lifetime of good deeds by throwing him into the sky as Sagittarius. He remained there, an arrow poised at Scorpio should the monster ever try to leave the sky and cause harm to those below.
Some tales say that Chiron was not as pleased with this end as some would believe. Stuck in the sky, watching the world he used to live in change and grow. The old noble ideas were dyng out, being replaced with more frivolous ones and it saddened him. Yet he remained in the sky, ever watchful in his post.
It was these tales of struggle to return that always intrigued me. Did the changing world really seem that bad? I eagerly sought out more and more books on mythology, if only to find more information about the fate of Chiron, gaining no more than crumbs. I became almost obsessed with my research. That's when I started having the dream.
It was the same dream I've been having for over a month. Each morning I woke, shaking and exhausted, but oddly at ease. I had always forgotten it when I woke up, until now.
I was running by the cliffs near my home in fox form, my favorite. Enjoying the simple feeling of running free, no life to worry about, no bothers, nothing to concern me but the simple ocean breeze and the night sky full of stars. I stopped for a bit to gaze at the sky from a perch on top of a large rock. My gaze fell on the constellation of Sagittarius, the great archer centaur. I felt a kinship to the sky, watching the stars in their eternal dance. I noted a strange coincidence; the moon was resting right below the famed constellation, almost as if Sagittarius had leapt over the great orb. This passing fancy made me smile. I smiled up at the night sky, relishing the moonlight.
'Your teacher is blessing, you friend.'
I leapt down from the rock and began exploring the immediate area when it happened. My dream turned into a nightmare with a sickening crunch. My leg had been caught in a trap. Blood was flowing steadily from the wound and the pain was intense. The trap was iron, I couldn't change back and I couldn't get loose. Unless a miracle happened, I was not going to make it until sunrise. I settled down on the grass as well as I could and looked back up to the great centaur for what felt like the last time.
At first I didn't realize what I was seeing, then the mist swirled and became denser. The great being came charging towards me, dark body nearly indistinguishable from the night sky, its silvery, moonlit mane flicking in the wind. He looked down at me, then reared on his hind legs. I thought he was going to crush me, and I braced myself. His great hooves landed on the trap, shattering it like ice. My leg was free but I was frozen in shock. He knelt down and gently took my leg, looking it over. He plucked a weed, and rubbed its pollen in my wound. He then ripped off one of its leaves, wrapping it around the gash. It was amazing; the pain in my leg was gone. All I could do was think of how grateful I was to this strange creature.
'It is safe for you to shift back. You are welcome, friend.'
I knew that voice, without ever hearing it in my life. It was warm and familiar, and calming all at the same time. I knew him, yet I could not place the voice; it was just beyond my grasp, on the tip of my tongue, I just couldn't make the last connection. I changed back to my true form, one half dragon, half battle faerie. The wound was still there, but so was the medicine. While I was still marveling at this he started talking to me again.
'I need to know something. Would you be willing to give a second chance at life, as has been given to you? Are you willing to give another such a gift?'
For the first time I was able to answer.
'Yes.'

I thought it had just been a fanciful dream, nothing more than idle wishing. I couldn't remember most of the dream again, but I remembered a kind voice and saying, 'Yes' to something. I rolled over, getting ready to get up when my hand hit something soft and warm. Next to me was the most beautiful little creature I could ever hope to describe. He was small and pale with wild silvery hair and a little colt's body the color of the night sky. It was not the same creature that had visited me in the dream. He was younger, smaller, new. The little on yawned and stretched a bit and then he blinked open his eyes. I will never forget those eyes as long as I live. They were like two deep blue jewels lined with silver.
'You're a gift from the gods themselves, aren't you little one?'
I gently picked him up, trying to keep all his limbs in proper order. He kept blinking up at me with those beautiful wide eyes and smiled a smile I swear would have melted the heart of an angel. Little jewels shinning up at me. Then it came to me.
'Devmani, your name is Devmani, my little jewel from the gods.'
He smiled at me with those gorgeous eyes. He laughed and gurgled a bit almost as if he approved of the name. Little Devmani snuggled into my side and fell fast asleep.

Subplots:
Chiron would have wanted to return to try and learn about what has happened in the many centuries since he left the world. Artemis also had a plan for him that he never realized and needs to come back to complete the task. (still working out the specific details, plus don't want to spoil too much) Scorpio will also return to the world at some point where Chiron/Devmani will have to fight him and decide the centuries old grudge between the two of them.

Description:
Devmani would be a centaur, his name meaning 'jewel of the gods' in Hindi. His human looking half would have pale skin, brilliant blue eyes rimmed with silver flecks and silvery hair, almost moon colored. His horse half would be dark blue with white speckling on his hindquarters like an appaloosa. His fetlocks and tail would be shaggy and silvery-white like his hair and black hooves. His ears would be a kind of cross between human and horse, being pointed and maneuverable as well as a bit higher on his head than a human's ears. Overall his body would be very lean but well muscled, like a track runner or swimmer.
As a baby he would start off very gangly with poor balance, especially when he went to run. His tail and fetlocks would be much shorter and fuzzier and grow out as he grows. The white splotching on his hindquarters would also spread as he grows, being very minimal while he's young. He might have a slight scar on his abdomen near the bottom of his ribcage, still deciding on that.
Clothing wise, not much. He might decide on armor or decorative things later on, but considering there's nothing to see why spoil the fun? I plan on him eventually learning how to use a bow so probably that and quiver much later in life around teen stage.

Personality:
Devmani takes a lot from the war-horse view, not a lot will startle him but when it does he goes off. He's very curious but if there are a lot of people around he'll stick to the back of the group and wait until they've moved off a bit before inspecting things himself. Loves challenges and will more often than not take a bet if he thinks he can win. He likes to show himself as serious and in control of things but he can be a bit of a goof when he thinks no one is looking, which might make for some extremely funny RPs. Devmani likes being in groups of close friends, but tends to stay away from really large crowds, preferring to have room to maneuver. He's really not that fond of closed spaces like houses but he can tolerate them. The perfect area for him is a field with a few trees to run around and snatch fruit from.
Devmani likes other animals well enough, but he tends to be a bit leery of the predatory types. He really gets along well with any hoofed animal and loves to challenge them to races. He likes to study the stars and moon, watching their phases carefully and making cryptic notes about them that nobody else seems to be able to read. He has a natural love of music from both his past and present life. That does not mean he has a natural talent for music, but you will find him humming at odd moments to no one but himself. He can be spacing out one minute then right back in with things the next. His ability to randomly pop in and out attention wise can be a bit off-setting and even annoying at times.

Magic Talents:
Devmani can cause small earthquakes when he wants to by stopping his hooves against the ground and concentrating, or if he throws a fit. When he really concentrates he can direct the quake breaking up earth in a specific pattern, though its really difficult. Also, if he picks up some dirt holds it between his hands and concentrates he can turn that earth into and solid mineral he wants, though at times there will be goofs, yet again might make interesting RPs. He can't really talk to the animals around them but he can pick up on the emotions they give off. He likes all animals, but tends to be a bit leery of the predatory ones. He likes hoofed animals the best and usually challenges them to races for the heck of it.
As he gets older he will also develop the ability to control the winds a bit, maybe even to the point where he can conjure small storms. The wind tends to pick up when he's happy or contemplative though he's usually pretty clueless about it. If he's angry then the wind tends to be sharp and stinging. Overall it matches his moods, which can shift very quickly. He also has an almost subconscious knowledge of what plants and herbs to use to heal specific ailments and injuries.

Natural Talents:
Devmani likes to learn how to craft things out of wood and vines. Occasionally he'll make something functional, but he prefers to just make figurines of animals and family. Having four long legs also comes in handy as it allows him to run extremely fast and jump things that bipedal Fa'e might have a hard time getting over. He's also very strong and steady being half horse.

Thinking:
If there was a greater need for females than males I could switch Devmani to being a reincarnation of Epona, Celtic goddess of the moon instead of Chiron. I'd probably call her Beryl, Greek for jewel. Also very little would need to be changed in terms of the subplots. Epona/Beryl would be serving Rhiannon and her people. I don't really know whom she'd face in a large/quest fight since I haven't much researched that yet. I'll do the research if I can't get Devi.

Added Notes
It has been brought to my attention that there would be certain anatomical problems later in life with children so I came up with a little extra plot.

During certain combos of the moon and constellations Devi would become human, but at the cost of his voice. He'd be completely anatomically human, he just wouldn't be able to speak while he's human. One pricey trade off for another. After his quest for Artemis he'll learn how to control the change, but he'll still loose his voice everytime he's human.

Either way, it's a nice dream.
