Magic, beasts, dragons, although some may believe those to be but myths, tales told only to those of small children, to keep their imaginations active and their minds entertained. However, are still known as no more than myths. These things are other worldly here on the planet earth, but on the great solar rock known to those few who have indulged themselves deep into studies as Versia, these things are common hassles, of which the citizens must deal with daily. But why? The tales will remain a mystery for all those who wish not to go further, however for those bold enough to venture forward, a great saga will be unveiled in your near future, as you assume the role of one of the great people of Versia, no matter your name, race, or beliefs.
The Sargonian Prophecy states: It is said that 3 God's govern the lands of Versia. Those of which being The God of Perfection, one who concerns herself with the absolute and complete peace of the planet Versia. If there is a block out of place, she will do her best to tend to the error, and fix the problem. She saw herself as no higher than the very people who lived on her planet. The God of balance, believed in the vary thing his name stated. Although the continuation of Versia was necessary as he saw, as well as the majority of the citizens being satisfactory, he believed perfection was boring, and frowned upon it. He would help where he was needed, in order to keep himself content with that of Versia. The God of Destruction was a different story than either of the two before. He hated Versia, every organism on the planet was better dead in his eyes. He did not see the use of a planet full of those below him, and sought to destroy before the vary eyes of the gods below him. His hatred was unexplanetory, but he continued to plague Versia with new horrors at every chance he got. Disease, quarries, and even very beasts themselves. Although at first, the in devours of the God of Destruction were handled by the combined efforts of the God of Protection, as well as the God of Balance, the powerful God of Destruction soon began to get out of hand. When it seemed he could do nothing worse to hinder the planet of Versia, he began attacking the other Gods as well. His power was incredible, and it had seemed that the fate of Versia, as well as the other Gods, would soon be reduced to nothing, and The God of Destruction would finally receive all that he had ever wanted, to cleanse the universe of all below him, or blunt terms...everything. The Gods were forced to pull out all the stops, and in a surprising effort, were able to reduce the God of Destruction to a near death. Instead of eliminating him however, the God of Balance suggested a more painful action. They would send the God of Destruction to the very planet of which he had hated so much, as a mortal. The being he could not stand, all that he hated, he would have to become. He would remain in this form, until a very mortal banished the foul God, a most horrible defeat of one who hated the kind so much. Even as a mortal, the God of Destruction was too clever, he had defeated the system, was nearly as powerful as the great being he had been before. Further measurements had to be taken, and the God of Destruction was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was encased in the richest of minerals, all formed into a mega-emerald, which had incased the God of Destruction in the center of the earth. He was never to be harmed, or dealt with again. And it is there that he remains....
It is believed that one day the God will be found, and is to be banished under the safest rituals, and under the most careful circumstances.
Life continues on the great planet of Versia, three kingdoms reign, all have created peace over the many years. However, one kingdom stands above the rest. Hawksvale, a powerful empire puts their surrounding kingdoms to shame. Their knights, undergoing the most dire, faithful training are revered as well as feared amongst all of Versia. They're great king's name is known over all of the planet's surface. King Gantrick, a once great knight had assumed the thrown when a tournament had been held. The most powerful warrior of the kingdom was too assume the position as king when the long line of king Luther's before had finally been put to rest. Although deciding on a king over brawn rather than wits, and governing experience may seem unwise to some, the great kingdom of Hawksvale was completely about gaining the upper hand of force, and complete tactical genius. Unlike many world powers though, Hawksvale remained loyal to it's treaties and rarely bullied the lesser kingdoms around. Actually, the other kingdoms appreciated Hawksvale's complete protective type attitude very much. As stated before, evil beasts plagued the lands of Versia, from normal animals you the reader would see during every day life, to horrible monsters whose names should not even be spoken. The difference, these beasts had a blood red glare in their eyes, and seemed to do nothing but hunt the living. They were completely hostile and had to be dealt with somehow. Hawksvale patrolled the planet, wherever safety was needed, the incredible knights of Hawksvale would soon take care of the unwanted foes. They cleansed and balanced the planet of the beasts, protecting all around the world. King Gantrick was respected by more than just those of his kingdom for accomplishments like this, and all were sad to admit to the fact that he was growing old of age, and would soon have to pass his leadership on to someone deserving of the title. Like King Luther before him, he had no children of which to pass his title, and would decide the same way his king had decided before him, through a tournament. The strongest of the Kingdom, the most tactically inclined, would assume the incredible position of power.
Now, the problems preceding the other kingdoms were important in their own right. The lesser kingdoms of Sargo, and Tallensford had developed a society basing greatly off of the prophecy mentioned before. They believed in it's every word, and followed it. Now, with that knowledge in hand, one would assume that the people of Versia would follow what they were told to have done, and actually attempted the defeat of the God. Well in the many centuries that had followed the prophecy, many generations of the most faithful believers burrowed, advancing further and further into the center of the earth. It is at this most recent time, that the task has finally been done. The people of Versia have finally succeeded in the reaching of the center of the earth, and there it was. The large emerald, and embedded inside was the very God himself. An incredibly intense, powerful aura radiated from the jewel. The force was incredible, and all those could feel the power from the God. Sargo and Tallensford, in their combined efforts, sought to do away with the God, in a 5 year banishing ceremony. The thought was tremendous news, and filled all those of the two lesser kingdoms with joy, as well as hope.
Unfortunately, the same feeling was not arising in the kingdom of Hawksvale. When news reached King Gantrick, he saw no use in destroying one so powerful. It was not that the king was a bad person, as you may have realized before, he was in favor of the people, however he had been raised in that the most revered, and powerful of mortals should be respected, not killed. He wanted the God, he wanted him alive and ready to compete in his next tournament for he believed he would lead as an amazing king, not as a God of Destruction as the prophecy foretold the other kingdoms. Although the Sargonians, as well as the Tallensford respected King Gantrick, and wished in no way to decline his requests, they could not possible forfeit the God over too them. They're faith in the prophecy was too strong. This was one thing that did not please Gantrick, for everything he had done, and this is how he was to be repaid? King Gantrick's punishments were then dealt out slowly. At first, he had excommunicated himself from the lesser kingdoms, soon the economy of the planet would be in ruins. He then cut off the "world police" idea, only slaying the beasts that had caused difficulties in his kingdom, leaving the others to fend for themselves. The beasts number multiplied horribly, life had appeared as dim as it would get. Finally, when the lesser kingdoms continued to give in, the King resorted to what he knew best, what he could use against the other kingdoms that they had nothing to do against, the king declared war...he would take the God by force.
It was now Hawksvale, vs. Sargo, Tallensford, as well as the rebels amongst Hawksvale's very own planes. The few shady characters in Hawksvale who they themselves had dove into studies of the prophecy, and would no longer remain loyal to their kingdom in this time of war, but would remain hidden, helping the other two lesser kingdoms in secrecy as to not be killed by the Hawksvale.
So, now you the reader are forced to decide the fate of the great planet Versia. Who are you loyal too, one of the lesser kingdoms, all aligning to bring forth what they believe is to be correct? Perhaps the rebels, those who team with the lesser kingdoms as well, those hidden in the shadows who may just be the very weapons the lesser kingdoms need to turn this war into their favor. Or the kingdom of Hawksvale, one kingdom against all others, now separated from the alliance that once brought light into these Dark times.
