Lord Mephisto
I knew you wouldn't be signing xD
Well, duh. I can't go on moderating inflation guilds if I sign crap like this.

Yes that is exactly the way i rmember it. However the bannings were not incorect as the original guilds used buddy bidding or whatever you call it. I don't think anyone was unbanned.
My original guild and it's sister were modified/disbanded, and I have a warning from back in the days that it was agaisnt the rules. We did not use the buddy system. The warning was for manipulating the marketplace, which is, as of now, allowed, and I've been assured that the rules regarding this are very unlikely to change.

As I keep saying, if you were to do this in real life then it would be breaking antitrust laws (not considering the anomalies like OPEC where geo-politics steps into the matter and muddies the waters). Artificial inflation is unethical; to date, I have not seen a decent argument giving positive reasons for it to occur.
Good thing you ran into me, then.
Gaia is not the modern world, it is a fantasy themed role play in which one can accumilate large power based on their own planning. It is no different from any other microcosm.
Lord of the Flies, anyone? The childrens savage ways was what lead to their eventual success in being rescued. There is a natural balance among groups of people.
Artificial inflation is mostly done by individuals, believe it or not. Guilds dedicated to it have minor affect in comparison. We often inflate items of little value, to of slightly more, yet still relatively little value. It's our talent.
Here's the point: Marketplace manipulation is what we are good at. We put alot of statistical and mathematical work into what we do. Exponential regressions can be used to contrast items natural inflation, and to test their chance of inflation on an artificial scale. If you wish to disband us, then you'd also need to disband breadables, avatar art, minishops, avi mods, charities/quests, and any other efforts on gaia, as they do the same thing we do: Use outside talents to earn gold.
Finally, it doesn't hurt anyone. Artificial inflation has relatively little overall affect. Horns of the demons spiked, then settled down. This applies to most items that are artificially inflated. They don't stay up unless there is demand. And demand means it would go up anyways. We just speed up the process.
As an added note, more gold is poored into the economy by spam and poll guilds. We live off of them. You wanna get rid of them, too? Gaia is a free play game. It allows us to use our IRL talents to earn gold. That's all inflationists do.
EDIT: Still not signing.
