OK, now I'm writing a story. Thank you all for your inspiration, and please enjoy. Or flame. I don't care. biggrin And yes, it will all be posted in a matter of minutes as I scramble to finish it before the inspiration dies and I have to go to sleep. I used all of your lovely pics for ideas, and I'm really hoping you don't mind, since I'm not even making money off this anyway.
Liam wandered down the cobbled streets of Barton Town, glancing about the quaint town with its old-fashioned design. He was looking for one sign in particular, one advertising a certain Boutique.
He had been wandering about downtown Durem to validate the information he'd gotten that there were some fine looking ladies in Durem. Yes, there were some, like Moira and Vanessa, but like all hot ladies, they were taken, even though they did squeal over his boyish good lucks and his spectacular figure. He paused for a moment to flex his biceps in front of a store window, admiring his well-honed bronzed musculature, before turning to continue on his way.
'Working to build and set up that store certainly paid off,' he thought with a smile as he adjusted his black bandana. Living on his own had certainly taught him how to fend for himself and make whatever he needed.
Thinking back to his walk through the ancient Gothic city of Durem, many of the young girls ("high school girls, high school girls!" wink he had recently met had, between taking pictures of him and begging him to pose with them, mentioned a guy named Ian from Barton Town. Of course, his name had often been mentioned in conjunction with his own, as in "OMG! Liam and Ian are both soooo hot!" or "Who do you think is hotter now, Liam or Ian?"
Everytime they had asked him about Ian, he had to flash his teeth and toss his bleached bangs. "Ian? Never heard of him!" he would scoff, and they would squeal and forget all about that silly Ian as they fed his ego with their adoration.
Anyway, after hearing some raunchy comments about himself and Ian in less than PG-13 situations, he had decided to find this person just to sate his curiosity. After all, there were probably other interesting people and places in Barton Town, and he hadn't much to do this afternoon, being off for the day and all. He also had to see if there was some merit to the rumor that this was the only guy in Barton Town that could hold a candle to him in looks.
He had not taken more than a step when a sign proclaiming "The Barton Boutique" caught his eye, which wasn't hard since it was only 2 feet away. In fact, the window he had been flexing in front of was the store's main window.
And apparently, his audience had been more than just himself.
Ian looked up from balancing his accounts just in time to catch the silhouetted figure posing in front of his window. The sun made it hard to make out any features, but this man was obviously showing off for someone's benefit. When a girl failed to materialize around the side of the building, he looked back down and chuckled, as though the display had been for him.
Rufus appeared from nowhere and curled up on top of his account ledger, looking at him with a twinkle in his eye.
"Now how am I supposed to get any work done?" he laughed just as the door swung open.
"Was the show that good?" a voice full of mirth asked, and Ian looked up suddenly as the figure entered.
It was clearly the man who had just been showing off. He was young, with bleached honey-colored hair and dark eyes. His physique was impressive and OBVIOUS, what with his tight jersey and exposed arms.
Ian smiled his polite, tight-lipped smile and gestured toward the dressing rooms. He would never be caught off his guard by some arrogant surfer boy with a penchant for tight clothes.
"If you want to see yourself so badly, there are plenty of mirrors back there," his eyes held a challenge as he smiled perfunctorily.
"Thanks, but I like the view up here," the boy threw back with a smirk, and Ian felt himself blush as he looked down.
'Well, that was unexpected,' he flushed further, stuffing his papers back into his account book, pushing Rufus away.
This had to be Ian. He was young, like himself, and he had that pretty boy look that girls loved, even if his outfit made him look like one of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower.
More importantly, he was blushing furiously even though he was trying to hide it. 'I mean, come on. Those rabid fangirls had to get their ideas from somewhere, and I'm certainly not the gay one here.'
"Caught you off guard with that one, eh?" he raised his eyebrows as he approached the counter. "I'm Liam, and I'm looking for Ian."
"And whatever do you want with him?" the man asked, picking up a gray cat as he stood up from where he had stowed his books. Liam thought he looked slightly nervous as he petted the cat's fur.
"I just wanted to meet the rest of the more prominent folks in this town. Plus your name came up a lot." Liam smiled as he reached out to scratch behind the cat's ears. Loud purring ensued as he looked up into Ian's amused eyes. "I hear you're my rival for best-looking single male in Gaia."
"Who said I was single?" Ian blushed again, and Liam started to think this was a really good look for him. "I am Ian, and this is Rufus."
"Hello, Rufus," Liam purred back at the cat, stroking down his spine and not-very-accidentally brushing his hand over Ian's. "And in answer to your question, nothing screams single so much as my gay-dar going off and all that blushing you're doing."
The rest is coming, if anyone cares!! HAHAHA
