Everything worth saying has already been said. You've all beaten me to it.

honestly, ive seen so many posts that have bad grammar. "OMG! That's awful!" But honestly... is it really that bad? It's funny that everyone with this so called great grammar will go to great lengths to critisize someone who has bad grammar. Now I work at a fast food resteraunt, and I for one should know how it feels to deal with bad grammar. And trust me, listening to it is far worse then reading it. But I don't complain!

Now if it was SO unnelligable that it could not be readable, but I see people just... go out of there way to make people who misspell a word like (ONE WORD!)... what, and resteraunt, and I dunno... chair... they try to make them look like fools who have no education, when at times, a mispelling is due to a mistype. Not everyone can type without looking at there keyboard you know. I misspell one word and someone says something like "give such and such poster a dictionary so he can look up the correct way to spell such and such," and honestly, it shows that these people are just stupid... Why even waste your time...

(BTW, I have a few words misspelled on purpose, cause I know everyone reading this can still understand what I'm typing.)

First of all... you didn't capitilize Honestly or I've. And your punctuation. OMG. Go back to your own country... and come back when you can speak our language!

.... xd
people who type poorly should not be allowed near a computer. I do it when I'm in a rush and I'm hurrying to get my posts/journal entries typed but otherwise...
Anyway, I can tell I'm going to like this forum. wink By the way, what is that brown emoticon? The one biting?

reely bad gramur is ur moma u scuk tinkin it is horible ur stopeed. Lmao. Great. Funny.
eh i dont... know how to... er... reply to... that...

LOL! By the way, I like your avatar, Cowboy!
Often both mispellers and "Grammar Nazis" get me annoyed. I don't soo much mind spelling errors in a post. Most all of us do that sometimes. It is just really annoying when they misspell the post title, especially with easy words. They can easily go back and change the mispellings. The "Grammar Nazis", get me upset because some seem to sit there all day correcting people. It makes them look bad because it is all they have to bother the person with. On the internet a person is often judged too easily by their type skills. After all, that is the first thing we see in chats and posts. I don't mind if I misspell around friends. I often type very fast, so it happens. With boards and posts I try to correct myself. Gaia needs a spell check! blaugh

*post complete- with lack of spell checking*
Yeah, if you spell something wrong that's minor (ex: And I like all kinds of ice cream, chocolate, vanilla, etc) then, who cares? But when people post on my forums: Yah i reely agree wid u grl! I just...grrrrr.... scream
It's not actually a bad thing to criticize...just remember not to go too far.[/size. sweatdrop
...bad grammar almost seems to be jusrt a part of our language now...not real english much n e more...

I hate people like that Its such a ridiculous display of condescending behavior. I mean these people are jokes, they will take advantage of every opportunity to sound more intelligent than someone else. i knowsome one like that in person and I feel like strangling that idiot. People who knit pick on grammar should use it where it is needed. stare

Totally! Like flamers? God! How important is it to go into a forum just to critisize it? What is the point other than boosting your weak confidence level? Knit-picking is never good...

I agree with you fully on where you are coming from, but if we continue to let this slip, or let that slip, are we not letting the problem develop further? The English language is not taught to you in school for you to completely ignore it everywhere else. You may not think about it, but those small flaws in your typing, or those small misspelled words will add up. Think about it: If there was a writer who was writing a novel, but misspelled a word here or there, would you not take note to them? Although they may be small misspellings, most people tend to see the flaws more than anything else. I guess this might only be me, but I tend to get annoyed about those small things. I mean, can people at least learn to spell 'grammar' correctly? Is that asking for too much? Go back through this thread, and see how many people misspelled 'grammar', and you will be surprised. By the way, I am sorry for correcting your post: A little OCD thing of mine. But think about what I have said.
I do sometimes complain, but only about those who abbreviate three or four letter words. That... Just gets on my nerves a wee bit.
Do you notice there are a lot of spell checks on word documents nowadays?
Bad grammar and/or speaking ability makes you appear uneducated, and so you will not be taken seriously. I don't find it fair all of the time, people can be very harsh, but I do understand both sides of the situation. If there's a thread in net-speak, or one that is just simply unintelligible, I skip over it. Maybe that person has a valid point or issue to discuss, but for some reason I can't be bothered to make time for it. That's just how it is for most people.
