The Only Real Form of Vampirism is Sanguin and Psychic Vampires. These are people who are neither "immortal", dont believe they are 500 years old and have to pay bills and go to school like the rest of the sorry human race. HOwever, these people suffer from extreme tiredness, fatigue, and more because their body cant make it's own energys as well. So they must take (or feed) from other beings to replenish themselves. I know half of you wont believe and andprobably think this is a hokey joke.. but it's not.
Sounds like anemia to me, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and read further.
Ok. We'll just hold this as a definition. I have a feeling the medical community would've come across one of these at some point; dead, undead, or alive. Vampires can still get hit by cars and shot by muggers.
Anatomy and Physiology told me that fat was the best energy source, not blood... and it's obviously not going to become their blood if they drink it, it'll be somewhat digested into a coffee-ground like sludge that'll be painful on the way out. I could see disease being a major problem. Maybe alot of "Sang" vampires died of Hepatitis?
Are there specific blood centers set up for this? Like a blood bank? I don't want to sound like I'm mocking you, but if you could imagine, this is a rather extreme conception of reality.
Any proof, or just "friend of a friend" or "read in a book" speculation? Does this sort of disorder go on a birth certificate?

I'm fairly sure that this is all just a "blood fetish". If you knew what actually happened to blood in your stomach, you would not be drinking it. I'll explain in another post then.
If there's bacteria in that animals blood, there's something seriously wrong with that animal. Humans are animals, and most diseases in other species do not transfer over. These are basic concepts of microbiology and epidemiology. Now, what's to stop you from feeding from yourself? I assume it's because you're lacking something in your blood, plus blood letting is dangerous stuff.
Again I will tell you: see a doctor. Take a vitamin, eat a balanced diet, exercise. You aren't a vampire. You're malnourished and inactive, and possibly very sick.
So basically, there's no proof. Let's see about these psy/elementals.
This is ED:M&R. Nothing exists here unless proven, and then it's up for debate. Astral bodies have not yet been proven. Prove that existence before we move on. The only energy we radiate is infrared light and heat. Our brainwaves are miniscule fluctuations in chemical electricity, and they don't radiate far from the brain. These are not "astral bodies". Burden of proof exists with you, not me.

In all seriousness, I can't stress enough the need for "vampires" to see a doctor and check to see if they need to change their routines and diets before assuming "I'm teh Vampyre!". This reeks of poorly constructed fluffyness. I suggest that you have this "lack of energy" checked out. I think you'll find it's angst, not vampirism.
So, by eating regular food, everybody is a vampire? I find this absurd. You can't absorb energy, aside from heat. There is a man that somehow lives off of sunlight in some ancient Hindu tradition that I won't bring up here because I know nothing about it, but I'll link in my next post. SEE A DOCTOR. MAYBE A PSYCHOLOGIST.

What a vampire does to replenish their energys.
For normal people, energys are replenished by simply eating food, sleeping, vitamins, and liquids. A psi vampire is different, yes they do every thing a normal person can do but to add to it they cannot replenish their energys by means of the normal way. They must take energys from other places. A psi vampire must feed, absorb, suck, take (whatever you wish to call it) energys from other people, plants, animals and things around them. This process can be as easy as breathing in the energys to a vacumme type way of doing this. It can be as easy or as hard as you make it, depending upon how you look at it or how open minded you are.

A Vampire as an evil, dangerous, or a bad person.
Just because a vampire take the life force from another person dosn't mean they are evil. If not done correctly they can be dangerous, but Evil and Bad is another thing. It is based on a person's moral or ethics that makes a person Good, Bad or Evil. Just because of what a psi vampire is dosn't make them evil. Don't listen to the junk you see on TV, or read in books.

Ok, blood in the stomach. To clarify things: BLOOD DOESN'T BELONG HERE.
What happens: Blood isa mild basic, your stomach is horribly acidic. We're talking very interesting chemical reactions with very interesting gases being formed, along with salts.
Blood clots. It won't digest real well, and although you may get some iron out of it, the potential dangers far outweigh any benefits. What you get is a tar-like coffee-ground consistency sludge that you will either puke out with searing pain or have diarrhea with searing pain. All depends on the amount. The amount of blood in a rare slice of beef is small, and it has food that's getting digested with it to "dilute" the blood, and the consistency of your poo is relative to all of the items passing through at a given time.
Disease is probably my biggest concern. Hepatitis A, B, C, D; HIV, and a few other bloodborne pathogens are horribly contagious and very deadly. Just for the sake of your own well being, STOP DRINKING HUMAN BLOOD. If you were born from two seemingly human parents, and you have active sexual cells, then guess what? You're human!
I know it's nice to think that we're "special" in some way or another. Truth is, we're not. We're all human, and all subject to the same material, mental, social and physical strains. Nobody is a vampire. I can't prove they exist, nobody has yet, so as far as I'm concerned, there are no vampires. You are not a vampire. I have a feeling you're a young girl with problems in your social life, just like everybody else, and you have the textbook teenage/young adult angst syndrome. This is just a projection of what you wish you could be.
I read the Anne Rice books. I have the encyclopedia of vampires. I thought, "wouldn't it be cool, if..." but I knew the if was not a possibility. Time for a reality check, as in go to an ER and sign a 201, and stick around in their behavioural health unit for 3 days. If you truly think you're a vampire and you need the energy from people's blood or their "astral bodies" to survive, you're deluded and living in a dream world.
On a side note, that guy that lives off of sunlight, has a site here. I'm skeptical, and will be meeting him on Monday. He's done it for NASA for 130 days. Draw your own conclusions, and if you want, start a new thread.

Well, technically speaking we don't know that they don't exist. We just assume that they don't because there isn't any proof that they do, and frankly, according to the description we were given, it's really rather... unlikely.

Well you know I see all these people that claim to be goths, they must be vampires to still be alive. So assuming they arnt lying then vampires must be real.

I don't doubt that they existed, however time and imagination tends to embellish stories far beyond their historical accuracy. Check History Channel, Vlad was just on, he'll be on again.
I'm certain that those two existed, just not quite in the capacity that they're portayed.

Agreed. While I obviously don't believe in actually vampirism as described in Dracula, I find it entirely possible that people had out of control blood fetishes, and may have done things (in Vlad's case) that might have made people think that they were, in fact, vampires.
