"Arigatou gozaimasu!" His fellow classmate had responded after he had passed him some questionable looking candies before then introducing himself. His name was Shou but quickly added that he could refer to him as Syo. That was fine with him, Audien had preferred Syo anyways, had a better roll off the tongue than Shou did in his opinion. His tongue rolled around the delicious red lollipop he had just put in his mouth, enjoying the wonderful sweet, yet sour, strawberry flavor. He took a moment to switch it to the other side of his cheek all the while observing Syo.

Blonde hair just like himself, though it was much more of a brighter shade than his. Any brighter and it could've been blinding, but he liked it. It makes it a whole lot easier to flag him down in a crowd or around school; always look at positives even if they're ridiculous... or don't make any sense at all. That was his outlook on everything, Audien was always a very mellow and care free spirit, it was quite refreshing. Syo's eyes had a vivid shade of green to them, he thought it looked pretty electrifying, but then he thought about it for a moment... he'd never met a Japanese with green eyes. He was pondering the thought for a moment, his mind running wild with millions of assumptions he was making about this boy's background. He felt the urge to interrogate him about it out of pure curiosity and interest... but he knew very well that would not go very well. Who would appreciate someone they just met bombing them with questions about their background? It was only the first day of school, yet that one very minor feature about his classmate bothered him for some odd reason, or maybe it was because Audien was a nosy boy who wanted to satisfy his curiosity. Nevertheless, it would be a shame to weird out the first person he met and decided to shrug the thought off, it wasn't like he didn't have other chances to ask him about it after all.

"No problem," he replied. "I'm Audien. Sorry, I don't have a nickname. For some reason, I always felt like my name was awkward to say." he admitted and let out a quiet sigh as he shook his head in disapproval. "You should definitely think up a good alternative for 'Audien'." he said quietly, so as the teacher wouldn't catch him 'interrupting' his class. His attention from one person to another as he took a moment to see who he would be seeing everyday for the next year or so. The teacher was an elderly looking male, he had heard one of the other students describe him in quite an untasteful way; old and that he had shoes that looked like something his grandpa wore. The loud kid's judgmental remarks quickly turned into random gibberish as his attention started to stray away on to things completely irrelevant. 'Quite the talker isn't he...' Audien wasn't too pleased with that particular individual... he was noisy. And a just a tiny bit obnoxious, but who was he to judge since he could be quite annoying himself although he tried very hard not to. He was annoying in the sense that he was always very opinionated about things and liked to put up the 'cool kid' front ninety-nine percent of the time. It was part of his image but one could totally understand why it was pretty cliche. The classroom started to get noticeably louder as more and more students started to fill in the empty seats. Some were lugging in huge instruments and cases while some just came in with nothing more than a notebook and some writing utensils. He assumed that they must be the students who sang rather than played instruments, this school was a melting pot of all sorts of different musically talented kids. Mental notes were being made as his eyes slowly scanned over all the students. Most of them seemed normal, looked normal. They were pretty normal. But then, there was that one white haired girl in the corner.

She looked surprisingly young compared to himself. Long white hair, bright blue eyes and a very pale complexion. Her body was nothing special, very small and nothing to boast about in the chest department, that was for sure. Overall, she had some icy cold features, it made him think of cold frigid winters and mountains of fluffy, yet horribly freezing snow. Just looking at her made him suddenly shiver, he never was a fan of the cold and hated the winter. The girl was chomping down on her pencil. It couldn't have been more obvious that she was having a nervous breakdown... maybe not a breakdown, but it was close. He could sympathize with her a bit, seeing as it was the first day in a new school with a mob of unknown people. At the same time, he rarely had an overwhelming feeling of nervousness, that type of feeling was foreign to him. He imagined it must be rough to be prone to nervousness as bad as that particular girl, she looked like she was about to snap that pencil in two with her teeth. A quiet sigh slipped out. "Man, that must be real rough."

"She's a lot worse than you are at the moment..." he said under his breath, motioning him to look over at the pencil chewing young lady. "I feel bad for her, she looks like she's going to have a meltdown..." There was some contemplating thoughts about helping the poor girl out. Maybe she needed someone to talk to? Maybe it would calm her nerves a little, but then... what if she wasn't one for talking? She was already having a crisis being here in the classroom, what makes it seem like it would be any better if one of the random kids in here tried to make conversation with her. If anything, someone talking to her might be the breaking point! Certainly, he wasn't going to be the person to go up to her after thinking about it for a few minutes. That's what he turned his attention onto Syo and put on his best smile. "Syo, you should go over and talk to her. You're good-looking, you're approachable, maybe you can calm her nerves." But then he suddenly thought... good-looking? Isn't it normal for a nervous girl like her to react pretty badly to a good-looking guy talking to her? It didn't look like she could approach any normal person in here much less a looker like Syo. Sigh. He scratched his head and patted Syo's shoulder with dismay. "Nevermind, you might actually make it worse. Pretty sure she'll run out that door if you were to talk to her, I don't think her little heart could handle it."

The entrance of the school fell quiet as a majority of the students had already entered with excitement, some with mixed feelings and a few dreading having to sit through another year of teachers, deadlines and assignments and even worse: drama. Aiden was that quiet boy who kept to himself and was always wearing a leave me alone I don't want to talk to you look. So generally, it was the b***h face. He wanted to be left alone, and with THAT kind of demeanor, it definitely worked. Akane was the only person he chose to talk to and though he would never admit it himself, he enjoyed her company. Occasionally, he would have to mingle with a few of her friends but it was never all that bad. His expressionless eyes stared out the slightly tinted car window as they passed by the students making their way to the school gates that wasn't too far off. The sleek black car slowed down as it approached the front; the driver quickly stepped out of the car to run over and open the passenger's side door. Aiden stepped out, grabbed his navy bag along with a small suitcase filled with his belongings the driver handed to him before walking towards the building to retrieve his dorm key. His shoes continued to click on the pavement as he neared the main office. A few bodies stayed around the front of the campus to prolong having to enter the school, they had some time to do whatever they wanted since the first day back was all about getting settled in while greeting familiar faces and meeting new ones.

From behind it seemed that the driver wanted to say something, or at least expected some sort of farewell, his arm that slowly flew up to reach out for Aiden as he walked away quietly. There was a sigh that came out instead of words, nothing he said would've made the young man feel any better about being at the school, so why even try to comfort him? The driver stood there for a few minutes and left after he saw Aiden enter the building. Being apart from his sister was impossible for Aiden. He was worried and couldn't stop his mind from thinking about her, asking himself, how is she doing? Will she be okay with their aunt and uncle? She had survived a year without him when he first came here, and when he saw after the incredibly long school year had finished, she seemed happy... she seemed like herself. Truthfully, there was nothing for him to worry about because he knew his relatives were good people and treated her well, quite the opposite of his parents. He was always the over-thinking type.

Shaking the feeling of paranoia off, he checked in at the office promptly, getting his dorm key right after. Many of the people around him were complete strangers since he was never one who was especially good at making friends; this never really bothered him much, he found most of the students to be too noisy or incredibly dull. Small talk? That's just asking to get ignored. Things like having girls asking him what his favorite this and that's are, or what instruments could he play... those kinds of questions, that kind of small talk, he just couldn't do it. It made him feel uncomfortable and awkward after the silence followed once he had responded. Not to misunderstand though, he wasn't a complete loner nor was he all that bad of a person, there was a select few at the school who he actually got along with. There was no doubt he'd probably run into them near the dorms, practically everyone was heading there now. There was a small feeling of excitement in him and he was actually pretty anxious to meet up with Akane. 'She's probably with that rag-tag group of people that she always talks to.' Between the two of them, obviously Akane was the people person. Even thought there was something quite unfortunate about her that made it impossible for her to actually talk to people, that didn't stop her from befriending everyone she met. A smile drew across his pale lips just thinking about her.

Among the many bodies that were beginning to flood the hallways as it came closer to the time when the fifteen minute bell would ring, he could make out the familiar back side of one of his favorite people. A slender figure with a very fair skintone and long brown locks kept in neat high ponytail. The young woman was standing around with a few other students; a tall blonde male, a brunette who was about the same height as the first, and two shorter blonde-haired students who seemed to look like children.
"Akane," he said as he walked up to her. Aiden paused for a moment to quickly study the people she was speaking with before he had entered into the group so suddenly. Their names came into memory as he saw their faces up-close and in person; he had remembered them from the year before, yet he couldn't say they were all on a friend-basis with him. They were Akane's group of friends that were pretty close-knit. He was aware that a couple of them had a very negative opinion about him, they made it very clear. Verbally. Not everyone was going to like you, he knew that all too well but he made an effort to try and stay on their good side. "Did you guys just get here?" he asked.

"Why did you even go back early? You could have stayed home a little longer, it's such a waste of money to come back home if you're just going to stay for a couple of days and then head back to the school." He had been complaining for lord knows how long. How long had she been on the phone with him? Two... maybe three minutes? It seemed like an eternity, that's for sure. Shion had returned to Shisatou much earlier than her family had expected this year when she would usually spend at least a week back in Tokyo with them every holiday, but after last year's 'fiesta' with her mother, she sure as hell was not staying around for it again this year. That's why she had to listen to her brother who was a couple years younger than her, Kiba, throw complaints at her over the phone. She already knew why he even called in the first place. He was getting bombed at home with questions about why she had left so early and of course, he had to call her right after and question her about it along with his two-cents. "Kiba... do you really, like I mean, REALLY have to call me about this right now? I have things to check on, I don't have time for this," she snapped all the while changing into her outfit she would be wearing to the Christmas party at the school. It was a relief that she had decided on what to wear the day before or else she would have been digging through her wardrobe for at least an hour. Shion nodded in approval as she looked at herself up and down in the stand up mirror not even for two seconds when Kiba barked up again. "Neesan! Seriously, you're so f-" Beep. Nope, she wasn't going to sit there and neglect the student Christmas party just to throw some insults back and forth with him. They had a whole lifetime ahead of them to do that. Her nails tapped quietly against the bright phone screen as Shion quickly sent him a text.

"Don't have time for you Kiba, sorry," she said tiredly with a sigh. She couldn't help but shake her head at the whole conversation, well, if you could even really call it one. Shion had expected her phone to vibrate right after with a pretty nasty response to her abruptly hanging up on him. It was normally how those kinds of situations played out between her and Kiba but surprisingly enough the phone she held tightly in her hand didn't ring. Hm... he must be pretty mad. Probably went out to smoke... Another light sigh escaped. It was one of his bad habits that she had nagged at him to quit whenever she saw him. Oh well. Can't be hung up on that, I have to check the dorms to see if everything's okay. Some of those kids think they're pretty slick, trying to sneak stuff in. It was one of her responsibilities to check all of the catered food and beverages at the student hosted Christmas party to see if anyone actually had the guts to spike anything. Though, some of the staff had told her that something like that most likely wouldn't happen she was still determined to double, no, TRIPLE check everything. Being the school nurse, Shion saw different kinds of kids all the time and there was always a few of them that didn't quite rub her the right way. After a another quick glance in the mirror, she grabbed her black coat sitting on the bed and headed out the door. The door clicked as she locked it, her hand jiggling the cold door knob a couple times just to make sure, for the sake of her conscience.

The sound of her black heels clicking against the floor of the mansion created a faint echo as she neared the exit. The staff party wouldn't be until later but it looks like most of preparations were nearly done. The only thing missing was the staff, assuming most of them were already gathered in the common area at the students dorm. Her arms reached out and pushed the large doors open, revealing a very frosty student garden. The pavement was cleared of a majority of the snow that had covered it before thanks to the grounds keeper which bothered her just a little bit, only because she really loved the snow and everything about winter. Across from the staff mansion on the farther end of the garden was the student dorms that had a few lights dotted here and there in both wings. Shion continued on through the garden towards the dorms but she couldn't help but be distracted by the fluffy white snow and frost that blanketed all of the greenery. Her shivering legs which were only covered by a pair of black stockings quickly reminded her how cold it was outside as she suddenly started picking up the pace.

Shion quickly walked into the common area of the student dormitory, trying to save her poor legs from freezing in the cold temperature outside. There were other outfit choices that probably would have been better instead of thin black stockings and a skirt, but she wanted to look cute today for him... but then when she thought about it, he never really noticed if she did anything special for him or dressed up just a tad bit on random occasions. Her expression was a bit sad over that thought but she quickly shook her head. "It's a party. It's Christmas Eve. I have to look nice," she said with a nod, just to confirm with herself that there was no other reason she decided to put so much thought into her attire. It only took me TWO AND A HALF HOURS of mix-matching and rummaging through my closet to settle on this... it's not like he ever notices anyway. As much as she wanted to deny the fact that she didn't put in some extra effort for him, her nervous frown and faint blushes made it obvious. She always was a horrible liar if Ryo was the topic. On top of that, she was also always increasingly bothered by the fact that he probably wouldn't take notice just like usual. It was one of the many other things that annoyed her about him.

"Okay, no, I have a job to do," she said, trying to shake off any unnecessary thoughts of that aloof senpai. What matters is checking that everything is okay for the students Christmas party. The dark-haired woman was so bothered by thoughts of Ryo that she had not even noticed the beautiful Christmas decorations that decked every part of the common area. The students had done a fantastic job this year, it truly was a pretty sight, but then there comes the most important part of the party preparations: the catering. It had been put together by the Culinary Club. Shion actually manages the club but she vividly remembered before leaving back home, she wanted to help out with the catering only to be met by very adamant 'NO, IT'S OKAY SENSEI' from club members and teachers alike. Hmph... I would've been able to make some amazing things for the party. They don't realize how well I can cook! Her eyebrows furrowed slightly in annoyance as she began closely inspecting all of the different kinds of foods and beverages that lined a long table draped with a festive Christmas patterned table cloth. With each bite and sip she took, she nodded approvingly.
Even without me, they did a pretty good job. Little did she know, they were FAR better off without her. As she started nearing the end of the table, she noticed a few students that she didn't know well enough to casually talk to, but Shion did remember them due to their more than normal visit to the infirmary. Oh, that girl. I think her name was Sera. The brunette seemed to be helping out another girl with some of the last minute details for the party. Shion grew a bit concerned as the girl tried to keep her balance while pinning up a banner. Her memory couldn't recall that particular girl... on the other, what she could remember was Sera was pretty clumsy. And accident prone. Those girls better be careful. Shion sighed and felt the need to watch over them before finishing up her inspection.

Only a couple of minutes had passed by, but the common room had gotten a lot more crowded than when she had first entered, students and staff quickly running inside to escape the frigid weather; quiet small talk was drowned out by joyous laughter and greetings. Along with the festive decorations, magic of the holiday's, and an assortment of delicious food, it made for quite a delightful scene. The students had undoubtedly worked hard on the party; even on the day of, they had continued to make sure everything was perfect—the brunette that Shion had been observing was still trying to pin up the banner while Sera had gone outside to set up more signs that were handed to her. Frankly, she found it charming how much effort they were pouring in for the party since an involved student body was what her middle school and high school lacked; a party this coordinated was definitely not something you would see. Meanwhile, while her sights were attentively locked on that one particular student, a light vibration and the sound of a bell went off in her coat pocket, suddenly snapping her back to reality.

"Ah, a text..." her voice trailed off as she started to realize that Kiba hadn't tried to call her back or even send his usual toxic text's after hanging up on him. Deep inside, a prayer was being made that it wasn't her mother... yeah, Kiba was a pain in the a**, but her mother was on a totally different level—mommy Ueda was her own level of insane. Before she pulled out her phone, the annoying thought of speaking to her mother made her hesitant; no, it wasn't so much fear that was stopping her hands as they lay frozen over the phone, but more like irritation. Maybe it ran in the family, well... more like it did run in the family, but once she started arguing, there was no stopping it. Then again, anyone could've sent her a text, it didn't necessarily have to be her mother or Kiba ready to chew her out. "Jesus, I'm just overthinking it," she muttered while unlocking her phone to view the message. It's from senpai... Just seeing his name on her phone always made her mind wander off with thoughts like, what's he doing right now, did he eat yet, does he even think of me... such simple thoughts yet her heart always raced. There was a moment when she—believe it or not—was actually honest with her feelings; the way she described it was forever quoted by Kiba because he thought it was so unlike her to say such a thing. Honestly, it was probably the most embarrassing, 'that's so not you' thing she ever said. When she confided with Kiba, she could vividly remember saying, "You know that feeling when you look at someone and your heart just goes... doki doki and stuff?" He laughed... he laughed so hard that soda came spewing out of his mouth. Apparently, it was funny enough that the soda streaming down his expensive monitor didn't even phase him. Sure, it was a pretty corny way to describe how she felt, but in her mind, there was no other way to put it, no other words that she could think of. Just doki doki. That was what her heart was doing right now, though unfortunately for her it was an irritable feeling that made her want to strangle him.

"I just woke up, I'm running late. Sorry, Shion..." she read,"What, seriously, senpai..." A sigh of exasperation was all she could manage to let out in response. I'm not that shocked by it. I mean, anyone who really knows him would have expected the same thing. Irie-senpai was oblivious, aloof, and a bit of a dreamer, his mind was always somewhere else; for as long as she could remember, he was reserved and didn't show much in terms of emotion. Obviously, forgetting things and being late was a norm that Shion still couldn't get used to since she's all about being prompt. It's a pretty semi-formal party, I wonder if that'll give him enough of a reason to wear something nice. She thought and wondered if he even had the time to throw something nice on. Then again, he was that guy who always walked around in traditional clothing and she always had something to say about it—they weren't compliments. Just the possibility of him walking in with his usual get-up was enough to set off her temper, and she hadn't even seen him yet.

Every so often, she would glance at the girls she had been watching over before, out of concern for their safety. One can assume that either one of them—in the worst case both—would fall, trip, or drop something. Everything had been checked, the food was all good and safe from any unwanted surprises, so she had pretty much done what was asked of her. All that was left was to wait for Irie-senpai, enjoy the student party for a bit, and eventually head to the staff Christmas party afterwards. For the moment, thoughts of Irie-senpai were quickly forgotten when her focus was on the student's safety; anytime something needed her undivided attention, everything around her didn't matter, including senpai. Meanwhile, he had just arrived to the party and was zig-zagging through the crowd towards her, though she was oblivious to this until a light tap suddenly made her flinch. She looked over quickly to find Irie-senpai, and surprisingly enough he took notice of her attire, yet didn't go about pointing it out in the most charming way... or at least, in the way that she wanted. "S-senpai! It's a Christmas party, obviously you should dress nicely and no, I don't have anyone I need to impress here. I wouldn't waste my energy doing that," she snapped, though she knew very well that she wanted him to notice her. Right now, she was lying through her teeth, praying that he wouldn't notice. There was a short moment of silence before she had one of those 'ah' moments, realizing that senpai had done something to get her even more worked up. Part of her was hoping she had heard wrong—her racing heart beat made it clear as hell that she didn't; Shion was so flustered that it hadn't even occurred to her that he in fact DID come dressed in a yukata and a matching haori. Plus, his hair was a mess. "... how can you just casually call me by my first name like that, senpai..." she questioned with a hint of embarrassment, yet you could hear the irritation in her tone and if you couldn't hear it... well, then you could see it; slightly furrowed eyebrows and a lovely little frown, but her cheeks were flushed with pink. "What do you think people will say if you do that!? Even if we've known each other for a while, you don't see me calling you R-" she stopped, getting more and more flustered. I can't just SAY his name like it's nothing... Of course she couldn't, and if she'd try to, he'd get a painful slap followed by an 'You're irritating' right after. "N-never mind! Now, could you tell me why you decided not to wear something normal? You look like you just threw on whatever and left, and what about your hair?" she nagged, quickly changing the subject while suddenly turning her head away to hide her face that was becoming increasingly red. "Senpai, you're a mess..." she sighed tiredly. It was as if she were dealing with a child the way she always nagged at him and voiced her displeasure. For some reason, she never seemed pleased with what he did.

Hundreds of years had passed since the girls were put under the witch's spell, for good reason of course. What other choice did they have? Their souls had been locked into the instruments of the mansion they had hid themselves in for quite a long time, but it wasn't shocking when the humans caught on and wasted no time sending hunters their way. It was a disgustingly long and boring slumber, though the other girls may not have minded as much as the vampire did; Lydia was always an antsy one who couldn't keep to herself, constantly running around the mansion and weaseling her way into people's business... nevertheless, the girl's still loved her as she did them and was very open about expressing her affections for them, in her own special way. On this particular day, it was no different. She was just as restless as yesterday and the hundreds of years that followed, but could you really blame her? It was tough. Soul stuck inside a piano, waiting for someone to play her so that she could finally be free, it was worse than her life before when she was confined behind castle walls. Someone get me out already... That was pretty much the only thought that went through her mind everyday, there wasn't much else to do aside from wondering how the other girl's were holding up. Plus, she couldn't help but sulk about what she could be doing if she weren't stuck... even better, what she could be eating. AHHH, I MISS CAKE... AND TEA, AND COFFEE. I MISS FOOD. Clearly, she was losing her sanity—Lydia was anything but patient. The first thought that came to mind for any normal human would be, 'Wait, shouldn't a vampire miss drinking blood? What the hell is this about food and sweets?' Sure, she needed blood every now and then to keep her thirst in check but she absolutely adores food and sweets. Before her soul being locked away inside the piano, her days were simple, not routinely though since it would be quite boring if it were. It was spent having afternoon tea at least ten times a day, if not more along with 'helping' out in the kitchen, playing the piano and reading novels. Of course, she also wanted to cause some trouble with the humans, although to her it was more like harmless pranks. Unfortunately for her, the other girl's strictly forbid it. Understandable... but she would still sulk around the mansion about it.

Oh? What's this? The silence that she had been engulfed in for so long was suddenly broken by the sound of music. Lovely music that was coming from her. Someone was actually playing her, freeing her. Am I... am I actually being played? ... Ahhh, it happened so suddenly! I can't wrap my head around it! My prayers have been answered! Excited? Is that word enough to sum up how she was feeling at that very moment? Or, it was more like ecstatic. The girl could barely contain all of the feelings of happiness that was gushing out of her right now. A beautiful melody was being played on her which peaked her interest even more; who was this wonderful person that was releasing her? Who was also playing incredibly well too! Hehe, I hope you're prepared. As the mysterious person continued to play, a trail of sparkle and light began to magically form around him and the piano, slowly swirling into a sphere just above the man.Inside, her body started to gradually appear; long blonde locks, bright blue eyes paired with a charming smile, and a fairly complex black dress that hugged her upper body before panning out from the waist on wards. Her skin was pale but had an enchanting glow. The sphere that revolved around her body suddenly dispersed, glitter and all flying in every which way before disappearing into thin air. Her attention immediately was on the blonde man that sat beneath her, their face's nearing and nearing each other as she slowly drifted downwards before resting in his arms.

Not even a few seconds passed by before she began to take in everything about him, she was interested to know more about the person that had set her soul free. "A blondie, hum," she said and continued to look him over."Human," Obviously, he was human. What creature would still be alive after the hundreds of years that passed? Was he a hunter? Did those even exist anymore? As far as she was concerned, they weren't in the day and age that she and the other girl's were familiar with anymore. A lot can change in a hundred years and they were anything but knowledgeable about what was happening outside of the mansion. There was an uncomfortable feeling in her stomach that made her more and more anxious about what he was... it wasn't like she couldn't handle one hunter but they weren't necessarily known to hunt alone. They knew better. "Who are you?" she questioned before taking notice of the brown-haired boy that was standing not too far from them. Gosh, and I thought I would get off easy. Of course he came with another one..." It definitely wasn't smart to start playing around with them right away, in the back of her mind she knew there could've been more waiting downstairs. "Are you here to kill us?" Her face closed in on his with every pressing question she had for him, like she was eyeing him down in order to get the answers she wanted. "Why are you here? How did you find out where we were? You and your friend look extremely suspicious... but here's a tip. Give me answers and I would suggest being honest," her voice was suddenly a whisper, their lips just inches away from each other. "Before I suck you both dry and tear. You. Apart." She smiled playfully before running her tongue over her bottom lip at the thought of having some fresh young blood flowing down her throat. For the moment, she was in control of her thirst but it wouldn't be long until she would inevitably wreck havoc trying to quench it.

He considered himself well-informed? Ha. Even if he was well-informed, a normal person's idea of, well, normal didn't apply to senpai. What he was wearing today along with what he usually wears everyday was his idea of normal... Ah, my head hurts... It went from, 'I consider myself very informed' to 'Shion is Shion' to 'Normal is a subjective term.' He's going to kill me. How have I survived up until now? She was fuming, which was a normal daily occurrence. Senpai always found a way to get her going, to get her blood pressure to shoot up along with her horrible temper. Right now, she was probably equivalent to a volcano literally on the verge of erupting and burning everyone and everything alive. All the things that was coming out of his mouth were like arrows piercing through her. What she wanted to do to him right now was what she would usually dish out on poor Kouta when he decides to skip class and make his daily visits to the infirmary to see her. "SENPAI. It still does not make it okay to refer to me on a first name basis. We'd have to be extremely close for that to be okay. You should be calling me U-E-DA-SAN," she nagged, though she was trying her hardest to cover the fact that she actually wanted him to call her Shion. Wait... what if he actually stops calling me Shion though? But I can't let him know I actually like it... wait, why does it matter, it's still not right. This is a matter of formalities! There was some internal screaming going on inside her as she fought between what she wanted and what was right.

"Yes, normal is a subjective term, senpai but I mean you can't wear something normal in terms of li-" Ah. He got her off guard. Her burning forehead was suddenly pressed against his, though as cool as it may have been, all she could feel was her temperature rapidly rising. Their eyes were locked only for a brief moment before she suddenly looked off to the side trying to avoid having to make eye contact any longer. This was a dangerous situation. Dangerous for her heart that was about to give out and all the attention they were attracting. Her heart was beating so fast, she wouldn't have been surprised if he had felt it. On top of that, she couldn't make out what to say right now... what could she say? Before she could start stuttering 'senpai' and embarrass herself, he suddenly stepped back after realizing what he had done had caused quite a reaction from the students around them. Where as the the whispers and stares from the students was making him feel 'weird'—a new one for him—it was the tipping point for her; it didn't seem like Irie-senpai was going to do anything about it so it on her to take care of it.

"Ahem... what are you all gawking over?" she yelled out sternly, arms crossed, head held high and a glare that would send anyone running the other direction. For the most part, most of the students and staff were very aware of the school nurse's nasty temper, but she did have her moments when she was oddly calm and doting. "There's nothing to see over here, so stop making childish assumptions and stop staring," she took a deep breath and paused for a moment to take in all the cautious looks that were plastered on their faces. "So, unless you have some sort of medical problem that makes you incapable of looking the other direction right now and would love to head to the infirmary with me, then please enjoy the rest of the party," she threatened. Just mentioning going to the infirmary with her was all they needed to hear to quickly disperse, no one wanted to be there with her in such a mood. Meanwhile, she looked triumphant as she stood tall with a kind of 'THAT'S RIGHT, DON'T MESS WITH ME' expression, though all that confidence quickly melted away when the sudden thought of what Irie-senpai had done came rushing back to her. Her pale face was now a nice and bright red color, her tough demeanor instantly disappeared as she touched her forehead.

"S...s-sen..." she began to stutter quietly before mustering up all the courage she had left to lock eyes with him. "S-SENPAI!" She looked at him accusingly, her face still as red as ever and an expression that was a mix of annoyance and embarrassment. It was probably more obvious that she was beyond flustered, she didn't know if her little heart could go on anymore. KNOWING HIM, HE PROBABLY THINKS WHAT HE DID IS 'NORMAL.' Now, he was backing even further away from her while covering his face, saying that she had infected him... is that all that he was concerned about? Words could not express the amount of irritation that was building up inside her. He suddenly decides to press their foreheads together but thinks the only problem here is her infecting him? Hah. "Why are you moving away from me? I'm NOT sick, yo- HEY. Do you have ANY idea what you did!? That is most definitely NOT how you check someone's temperature! I would know, I'm a nurse!" she yelled at him, distraught of course. After all, he was about to send her into f-ing cardiac arrest. As mad as she was at him, especially over the fact that he didn't even realize what he did was oh so wrong, she couldn't stay upset with him for long. That was usually how it worked out between the two of them, she always forgave him quickly after giving him a hard time about it. Ah... god, I'm too easy on him...

"Look, this is how you would check their temperature," she said calmly before sliding her hand over his forehead. He got off lucky this time because what was a gentle touch on his forehead could have been a swift slap. Unfortunate for her that they were at a school event right now. As soon as he placed her hand over him, she had expected him to be cool as a cucumber, but it was surprisingly warm. Was it from her forehead? It was steaming hot so it wouldn't have been a surprise if it was from her. "But, don't get the wrong idea. DO NOT go around randomly touching someone's forehead like this. Especially the way you did just now... you better know them well enough to be doing things like that. If someone in the school is sick, just quickly send them down to me." She let out a heavy sigh, tired... she had been sighing a lot that day, a lot more than usual.

The party had been going along smoothly other than the awkward exchange between her and Irie-senpai; students and teachers were enjoying the food, running in and out of the photo booths and there were some students who were even brave enough to do some karaoke. It was only a little bit longer until it was time to head back to the staff mansion for the staff Christmas party. "Ah, gosh, I need a drink..." she mumbled to herself while hanging her head a bit. For a couple minutes, it looked like she was still trying to process everything that had just happened. "How am I still breathing," she said to herself quietly, surprised at herself for managing not to run away from Irie-senpai. "There's a staff Christmas party afterwards. I'm assuming you'll be going since there's not much else to do, right?" she asked him and made a tiny half-heart prayer that he would go with her. What else would he spend Christmas Eve doing?

As soon as the blonde started guessing what she was, she began to slowly back away from his face with every single wrong guess he made. Shape shifter? Ha. Succubus? Definitely, no. "A succubus? Hey, of all things, you're guessing that I'm a succubus? Ha, please. Do not compare me to those hormonal sex craz-" she couldn't help but stop when she heard him mention the one asset she didn't have: a chest. Did he just call her... flat? How could he plainly say that without even attempting to catch himself even uttering such an insult? Did he realize what or who he was dealing with?"F...f-flat?" her voice trailed off as she struggled to get that infuriating word to come out of her mouth. FLAT? BLONDIE, HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? Cracks from her fingers filled the quiet room as she began to stretch them out slowly; what once were clean and well-kept nails began started to grow into sharp lethal claws. "Vampire or not, I'm still a woman, blondie," she growled, a nasty temper replacing her playful demeanor from just seconds ago.

The man had went onto say that his name was Linus and that he was indeed a human before questioning what she meant by killing her, which puzzled her. No human was normal. No human was harmless. Lydia and the other girl's knew that better than any other creature that did exist or may still exist in this world. They were barbaric, rash, judgmental, liars... the way she saw it, mankind was dangerous. Obviously, they were dangerous to all supernatural creatures, but they were a danger to themselves as well. It wasn't like in her lifetime she hadn't seen instances where they would turn on each other at the drop of a hat. It was... Filthy. Yes, exactly. Filthy. Humans were all the same, hunter or not. This blondie, Linus, was most likely no different. As much as he continued to press on the fact that he and his friend were harmless, she just couldn't buy it. The mansion the girl's lived in was deemed haunted by the last humans that broke in hundreds of years ago and no one ever mustered up enough courage to come near it since... so, why did these two guys decide to come in? She was intensely thinking over the what if's and why's before his voice quickly brought her back to reality. 'Not unless you're planning on something of your own my lady, than I just may.' What? Hah... did he really just say that?

"... gosh... hum, okay. Linus, was it?" she said, exasperated by the whole situation that was unfolding. Her claws had retracted and were now back to their normal pretty fingers. Though, she was still quite offended about her chest but she had to remain calm. God knows what trouble she'd be in by the other girls if she were to kill both of them. Before she could continue on with questioning him, her curiosity was peaked by the brick-like... contraption he had just used and plopped onto her lap. What was it? She had never seen anything like it before... was it a new weapon used to hunt creatures like herself? It didn't look anything like something she had ever eaten before... was it a new kind of food the human's discovered or created? The girl was so engrossed in the item that she didn't even notice that the brown-haired boy had quickly run off to check the other rooms. Just... what was it?

Meanwhile, as she continued to stare at the square object in her lap, Linus had asked her what year she thought it was along with reassuring her that no harm would come to her or her 'nest' unless she had started something to give him a reason to. Nest? ... ah, he must mean other vampires. Fortunately for her, she hadn't run into another vampire since she had met the girls. Just as run-in's with hunters weren't very delightful, meetings with other vampires weren't enjoyable either. "Year? Why are you asking that all of a sudden? It's the year 1800 of course," she responded, slightly confused as to why he wondered to ask her such a thing. Wasn't it obvious to anyone living what year it was? It didn't occur to her at this moment that she was pretty relaxed, not hostile like she was just a moment ago. Once she was interested in the device he had been using, all thoughts of tearing her claws into him had disappeared. Her body began to readjust into a more comfortable position in his lap, freeing up his hands as she returned to staring at him curiously, intent on bombing him with more questions and she still had bone to pick with him about calling her flat chested. "I won't be killing you, I wasn't planning to do anything of the sort. The others will be angry at me if I did and I cause them enough problems," she explained. It was a fact that she was a bit of a trouble maker... "Mmm... you seem harmless enough. Not like I couldn't kill you if I wanted to... okay! Lydia, that's my name, blondie," she replied with one of her charming smiles.

"Now that we have gotten names and formalities aside, I need to you to understand something. You need to nail this into your little human head, okay?" she had a little too much pep in her tone as she belittled him, though she didn't feel like she had said anything insulting. One might think otherwise, but that didn't seem to bother her as she continued on. "First, I see you've figured out what I am, so congratulations to you! Second, lets go back to that comment about my chest, shall we?" Her small hands suddenly took hold of his right hand, pressing them onto her one side of her nothing to gloat about chest. "Yes! You are correct about this! I am indeed f... f-" she struggled to get the word out... this happens every time anyone pointed it out to her. It was truly unfortunate, but she didn't let that stop her from giving them one of her cocky comebacks. "F-flat chested! But, that doesn't mean I'm lacking in other areas," she snarked before placing his right hand on one side of her bottom. I'm quite bold indeed! A triumphant smile formed on her lips as she held her head high in victory. This high didn't last too long when her attention reverted back to the device Linus had been using before. She had to know what it was or else she would break it into pieces trying to figure it out herself."Explain to me what this thing is. Is it something used to hunt us? ... or, is it possible some kind of food?" she asked, but didn't even wait for him to reply before beginning to open up her mouth, revealing her sharp fangs; who other than Lydia would think chomping down on something unknown to her would answer her question of whether it's edible or not?

Just before the device could reach her mouth, Linus had quickly snatched it away from her curious little hands, or this case, her curious mouth along with her curious taste buds. He had gone on to say there were things on there that were important to him, things that he could never get back if that contraption had ever broke or gotten lost. So much trouble for such an odd, small thing... Never in her life had she ever seen such a weird item, so naturally she couldn't understand why it was such a huge deal if she had broken it with her teeth. "So, you're telling me that puny thing can be used as storage? I mean... what could you possibly keep in there? It's so small," she asked full of curiosity and just a tiny bit of wonder. If such a small thing could hold things inside it, just imagine what else had been created since she had been stuck inside that piano. The vampire couldn't help but wonder, her imagination getting the better of her as it always did.

Just as quick as he was to take his device back from her, he had followed by sitting her down on the piano bench and revealed his short stature as he stood up in front of her. "Oh my, you're a shorty," she said, slightly shocked by his height, although she found it cute that he was shorter than her by a few inches. "Hum... how am I supposed to cling onto you though? The only thing I could do is rest my arm on top of your head," she whined, thinking about how it work if she wanted to cling onto his arm and pester him like annoying, needy child. It definitely wasn't news to the girls that Lydia was always in company of one of them only because she disliked being alone and absolutely hated silence and confinement. Whether she would be messing around in the kitchen with Cass, attached to Esther while she enjoyed tending to the flowers around the mansion, or annoying Maggie, there was never a moment of peace with her around, not like it was necessarily a bad thing.

Before she could open her mouth to let out another string complaints, it suddenly puzzled her that Linus had reacted in a more than odd way when she forced his hands on her chest and bottom. It may not have been odd to any other person that wasn't Lydia, but in this case, the whole thing just wasn't clicking in her mind... I'm flat, there's nothing to feel up or even be worked up over... I'VE GOT NOTHING. Just a few minutes before, she had already came to the quick conclusion that blondie was definitely into a woman with much larger breasts, but if that were true, why would he react the way he did? All flustered and red... "Ah!" It was like a light bulb went off as she clapped her hands together, thinking she had figured it out. "Virgin," she said bluntly. Why didn't she realize it sooner? Why else would he be all riled up over touching a girl's chest, and a FLAT one at that. It was understandable, everything made sense now, although she could sympathize with the flustered man since she herself had never done anything romantically or sexually with anyone. Such things were unnecessary among her kind as was affection in general. All that mattered was power and status, meaning marriage only happened between powerful high-class families and were a way to gain even more power. Sexual acts seem to only ever happen when it was time to give birth to an off spring to continue the bloodline. As for Lydia, she had always been interested in why humans do the things they do over such emotions like 'love' and found it intriguing to read romance novels, thinking she was grasping the whole concept of it.

A look of shock had overtaken her when the sudden scent of blood caught her attention and the urges she had been holding back began to gradually engulf every part of her body and mind... but, where was it coming from? At first, the image of the brown haired boy from before had come to mind, a scene played out in her head where he had managed to release one of the other girls. Maybe, afterwards, he had tried to kill them out of fear or it could've been the other way around... no. Something like that couldn't have possibly happened. That boy looks incapable of doing that kind of thing... mm, and the other girls aren't as quick to kill someone as I am. Well, maybe Maggie would. The idea was quickly dismissed when Lydia glanced at blondie's face, realizing that the scent had been coming from him, a little stream of blood escaping from his nose. "Hmm? What's this?" she questioned, a mischievous smile spread across her lips as she closed in on him till her forehead was gently pressed against his. "Hehe... you're quite warm, aren't you?" she locked her eyes with his, her intent of what she wanted to do next was crystal clear. "You wouldn't mind sharing your blood with me, would you? I'm curious... as to what you would taste like," she couldn't help but laugh, amused at how this human could be worked up enough to have an uncalled for nose bleed. Her hand began to creep up towards his neck ever so slowly and just as she placed it there, nails slid down softly as her lips made their way towards the center. I hope you don't disappoint me, hehe. Sharp fangs that were once hidden small cunning lips were visible now and they were about to be dug into this man that she hadn't even known for ten minutes, but then...

"L-...Lydia!" Someone had yelled out for her and she knew exactly who it was. "Oh! The stress noodle is up!" That frantic voice belonged to one of the girl's who Lydia adored despite her prone to stress, hence everyone calling her a 'stress noodle'. She was a gorgeous angel named Esther that was doting mom number one to Lydia since she seemed to always be the first one to pull her aside for something that she did or was about to do. "I should probably go check on her, she doesn't sound too well and I bet she'll be excited to her dear Lydia's cute face!" she perked up pretty quickly from the killer demeanor she had just as she was about to take a bite of his neck, but just before she started heading towards Esther's room... "Don't think I'm letting you off... let me taste you later, kay?" she whispered into his ear, and just as she was about to merrily run to see her angel, she licked his neck as her way of saying, 'We'll continue this later, I promise'.

Esther's room wasn't too far off from the ballroom that the piano sat in and was a comfortable distance from her own room, then again it was a miracle if she ever really stayed in her room. Most nights, before they had been locked into the instruments, she would stay in one of the girl's rooms, whoever would take her of course. Unfortunately for them, it was rare for Lydia to ever be tired so it was a given that she didn't sleep much. Trying to get her to sleep was comparable to forcing a child to go to bed so that they could drift off into dreamland and when all else failed, they would just try to at least get her to leave them alone while they slept, which never proved too difficult. Only mere seconds had passed when she came face to face with pink-haired friend who was beyond happy to see the person that had released her, but that was to be expected. "Esther!" she beamed happily and was quick to run to her with arms wide open. "Are you okay? Well... of course, you're not, that frown says it all, but did that boy do anything to you?" she questioned while wrapping her arms around her, though she wasn't too concerned since she had dubbed him small fry in terms of who was a threat or not.

Everything was just a giant cluster ********, nothing made sense to anyone and the only thing she could take away from this was who was these humans had moved into this house for some odd reason and unintentionally released them. Was that something for them to be thankful for? Well, of course. They were responsible for saving them but they were still humans, barbaric little things that hunted anything and everything that was remotely different from them. For now, Lydia had decided to refrain from having to kill them knowing that the girl's wouldn't want to work things out that way, they weren't so quick with the trigger like she was. The vampire clung onto Esther, holding her protectively since they still had no idea whether or not these human's had intentions of putting them down like they were rabid animals. Linus had asked the question that she knew would pop up eventually, seeing as supernatural creatures appearing out of the blue from playing instruments was far from normal. "It was our lovely Cassiopeia that casted this spell on us. It was to save us. To protect us." She answered, putting strong emphasis on protecting them since that was indeed the truth. Had Cassiopeia not thought quickly to place that spell on them they would have been dead for sure, there was no question about it.

Lydia's expression had soften when she heard Esther saying all she wanted to do was sleep after finding the rest of the girls. "Awh, my angel just wants to sleep. We've been sleeping for so long already though," she chuckled. "We'll see if the others are out and then you can sleep to your heart's content. I'll make sure no one disturbs you." She couldn't help be eye the two boys suspiciously, as if to warn them that they had better be prepared to be sent into the afterlife early if anything were to happen to the girls. On the hand, her mind was stuck on the thought of how much more sleep Esther wanted, they had been given hundreds of years to sleep all they wanted. Then again, Esther always took pleasure in the simpler things it seems, making flower crowns, sleeping... she was the complete opposite of Lydia, but she still adored her all the same and actually tried very hard not to disturb the woman during her slumber. Often, she would end up bothering Maggie and Cassiopeia instead, it was hard to tell if they found her clingy nature endearing or just plain annoying, but it never seemed to be a problem from what she observed. Esther had gone on to question about something the brown-haired boy had told her along the lines of how she was looking at his friend like he was a snack, all ready to eat him until she was satisfied.

"Snack...? Oh! You must mean blondie over there," she pointed him out quickly and flashed him a smile. "I didn't eat him, but I definitely want to. I know how much trouble I would cause you and the others if I did, so... I'm just gonna save him for later! I'll have to ask Cass, I hope she'll say yes though, from the smell of his blood... he seems worth the trouble." She smirked, thoughts of her fangs digging into his soft flesh, the pleasure of tasting his blood before running down her throat... it gave her a high that she had not felt in a ridiculously long time and when that time came, she would savor every second of it. "Curious? Hm, well, that's understandable." She brought her index finger up to her lips and tapped them softly. "While that's all fine and peachy, don't get too curious now, okay? Hehe." She teased, hinting at something that was probably a little too kinky to say aloud.

After she had been questioned about her usual antics which didn't come as much of a surprise to her along with the other girls, Esther looked towards her and seemed to have felt a little more calm about the situation. Though, she knew it was partially because she was there which made her smile reassuringly at the woman. Well, I guess I'm taking the reins for now until we find Maggie and Cass. I hope they've been released too... I miss them and all but I'm thirsty too... From the moment she had been released to now, she had been fighting to with hold the urge to tear into the humans standing in front of her. At first, the thirst wasn't too bad, but the longer that it took to find the others, the more that thirst grew and once it got to the point where it thoughts of human flesh and blood consumed her mind, it would be difficult to control the impulse to feed. Furthermore, it was crucial that she remain as calm as possible since it was obvious what would happen if she were to suddenly look like she was going to go rampant on blondie and his friends. More importantly, she'd be endangering the girls. The sooner we find Cass and Maggie, the better. Ahh, everyone would scold me if I were to feed on them, and what's worse is they'd deprive me of sweets and my novels after.

The brown haired boy had seem like the only rational one at the moment who was surprisingly calm and composed over the whole ordeal. For god's sake, he even threw out the idea of talking about it over tea! Lydia instantly perked up, eyes sparkling and excitement just gushing from her. "Ooo, yes yes! That's a wonderful idea! Esther, lets go, lets go! He said he can make us tea! The quicker we find the girls, the sooner we can enjoy it!" She began pulling Esther along eagerly out the door into the ballroom, heading straight for the stairs leading downstairs. Her head peaked back into the room for a minute as she eyed them curiously, wondering why they weren't as excited as her to enjoy some tea and maybe if she was lucky, sweets as well! She waved her hand at them motioning for them to follow along. "Lets hurry you two!"

"Waaah, sis, that was so cool! I wish I could play as well as you!"

SMACK. "You will be able to some day, Theo! Don't ever think that you can't, okay!?"

"B-but... I'm wea-"

"No, you're not!" The little girl dropped the ball she had in hand, furiously shook her head and looked at him with eyes of fiery determination. "No matter what anyone tells you, you're NOT weak. You have to have more faith in yourself, Theo! Sis thinks you can do whatever you want but only if you give it your all, okay? I believe in you! You have to believe in yourself too!" Little Theo's face was all scrunched up, his eyes welled up with tears as he listened to his sister give him one of her pep talks. He had probably heard it at least once every single day since he was able to understand the words coming out of her mouth, but it never ceased to give him the motivation to live everyday to the fullest even if he was a sickly little thing. Mina was like his sun, always shining brightly and giving him strength and energy he never knew he had. Sure, he wasn't nearly as genki as Mina or as healthy as a normal kid should be, but life was relatively normal...

Liar.

"We're sorry, honey, but something's come up and we just can't stay with you two right now. You understand, don't you? That mama and papa's work is important... we'll come back after everything is settled, okay, Mina?"

Liar...

"Take care of Theo, you know he get's sick very easily. Tell him mama and papa love you two."

"...liar..." she mumbled. Her tiny hands has been scrunching up the floral patterned summer dress her mother had just gotten as a gift for the girl. Her brown hair was messy from running around outside, parts of it covered her eyes along with the mixed expression of anger and pain, a look a girl like Mina would rarely wear. These people were liars was all she could think about it, the single word just repeating over and over again... Liar... liar, liar, liar, liar, lia-

The woman looked mildly annoyed, but began to reach out for the child anyways. "Mina, hon-" SLAP.

"DON'T. TOUCH ME." She screamed at the woman, tears running down her cheeks yet there wasn't even a hint of sadness in her eyes. Just anger. That's all there was. Why would she be sad over her? Over this piece of garbage? "All that you are is a LIAR. Mama? Papa? Ha. You think you can even refer to yourselves as my parents anymore? No... you can't even call yourselves parents. You're just tra-" SMACK... it fell quiet for a minute.. she stared at the woman, wide-eyed in shock as she touched her cheek that was now a light red.

"YOU LITTLE BRAT. How DARE you talk to me like that!? I am your MOTHER." She yelled, fuming mad with the girl for even having the guts to say such things, though little did she know, Mina didn't regret it. Not one bit. In fact, she was baffled that this woman still had the nerve to spew out that she was her mom when she probably knew it well herself that she didn't deserve to be a mother. Suddenly, her aunt ran into the hallway to see the scene that was unfolding between the two, mother and daughter both at wit's end. "What is going on here!?" She demanded to know, but it was all very clearly written on her sister's face what was going on. "Mina, go upstairs. I need to speak with your mother." She smiled reassuringly before giving the girl a light push towards the stairs. Her feet had only made it up the first few steps before she turned around slowly to take one last look at her 'mother'. "I never wanna see your face again." The tears that were streaming down were gone now, all you could see was the already existent hate and resentment she had harbored for her parents from the first day they left her and Theo years ago.

Afterwards, she laid in bed with Theo right next to her sleeping soundly, unaware of the frustrating events that had just taken place downstairs with their mother... or rather the stranger downstairs. Across from her sat a far from brand new volleyball, parts of the fabric that had been white were now a faded tan color and there was obvious wear and tear adding on to it's already poor condition. It was annoying to look at, only because it reminded her of the times she spent with her parents, how even after they had abandon them she continued to cling onto that ball and refused to ever practice with a different one or share it with the other kids. After all, it was the first thing they ever gave her when they noticed that she had an immense love for volleyball. Whenever she looked at that ball and wherever she went with it, she could hear them praising her—cheering for her, but now... it was different. Instead of filling her with hope and warmth those feelings were quickly replaced with betrayal and hate for the two people she had never expected to leave her. Their family wasn't perfect, far from it to say the least, but they were still a family who unconditionally loved each other, that's what a family is, right? Who knew that that ideal could be ruined so fast as she realized how easy it was for them to come back when they wanted to and leave whenever they grew tired of her.

What an eyesore... She rolled onto her side to face Theo as she was growing increasingly annoyed the longer she stared at the wretched ball. Meanwhile, Theo had been sleeping quietly, she could feel his heartbeat as she pulled him into one her tight hugs. "Mmm, sis... you're breaking me in half," he cried out softly. "Oh! Sorry, Theo..." She replied in a hushed tone while loosening the constricting hold she had on him. Theo opened his eyes slowly, gradually adjusting to the moonlight that was streaming into their room through the open window. "What's wrong? ...d-did you dream of something... scary?" He asked concerned, though you could tell he was nervous about hearing her response, hoping that she would say no. If this were a normal evening, Mina wouldn't pass up the chance to think up a scary story to tell the poor boy, frightening him enough to barricade their whole bed with the numerous plushies they had in their room. However, tonight she just wanted to lay there and cling onto him... usually, it was the other way around, but for just one time she wanted to let her walls down and not be that genki, strong girl that everyone saw her for. She just laid there. Silent. "... Mina?" He peered at her through the strands of hair that hid the only visible half of her face until he felt something wet seeping into the upper part of his pajama sleeve. One drop quickly became three drops then five and six. Before he could say anything, she began bawling uncontrollably with a hiccup popping up every other second while still clutching on to him ever so tightly—as if to make sure the only person she had left, the only person she put above herself, wouldn't leave her.

"I-I'm gonna—hic—w-work super hard! S-sis is going to—hic—t-take care of you, o-okay, Theo? Hic!" She was struggling to say anything in between the hiccups and bawling, but she needed to hear it for herself, the promise she made to herself to always be there for him and to devote everything she did for the chance at a better life for Theo. To give him everything and anything he would ever want or need. She understood if they were just giving her up, having always been an independent and energetic girl, there wasn't much to worry about it, but in Theo's case, he couldn't even go outside for more than five minutes without feeling sick and weak immediately after. He's my responsibility... I can't push it on to someone else, not like they did. He deserves better, so I'm going to give it my all! That way, he'll be happy and... a-and he wouldn't be able to leave me... right? I mean... why... why would he... if I'm doing it all for him...

Life just seem to go on as usual after that night, everyday was just the same routine. School, volleyball practice, run errands for the neighbors, more practice, sleep. When she turned sixteen and was able to start applying for jobs, the routine was more or less the same, just a lot more hectic. School, practice, work, more practice, sleep. Rinse and repeat. How exciting. It was rare that she ever did things for herself until Finn happened to find her stuck trying to enter an abandoned building and were introduced to the others shortly after. They were enjoyable to be around to say the least, and they didn't seem to mind having her around, although she could sense that sometimes she had a little too much energy and enthusiasm for them to handle. The night that they all went camping together was her first ever outing with friends so naturally she was pretty excited about it, even after Theo had pretty much forced her to go when she wanted to stay with him while he was sick.

Objects of all sorts were thrown towards the sky that night, a pendant, a charm, sports medal, a wedding ring, hell, even a coffee mug. Mina watched in awe as they flew closer and closer towards the vast sea of stars above them until eventually, there was nothing left of them... it was as if the gods from above decided to take pity on them, these petty humans, and lend an ear to hear out their wishes. From the moment Rin began telling them about the legend of the falling stars, she could feel all the excitement buried temporarily in her heart suddenly rush through every fiber of her being—completely wonderstruck. Her eyes fell down on to the old worn out volleyball she had been gripping through out the whole night, tracing over the tiny slits her nails had created when she had dug them into the ball earlier out of frustration. It had been gathering dust in one of the many boxes where she threw all of her old belongings, toys and clothing from when she was itty bitty Mina along with the few things she received from her parents. Now, those items in particular was buried underneath everything else seeing as they don't deserve to see the light of day. Some would look at old things like that and reminisce about all the memories tied to it, usually good one's, however she just continued to stare at the ball, indifferent to such things.

Whether she believed in wishing upon stars or not, she hopped onto the band wagon and looked towards the sky with determination holding on to her ball underneath one arm while the other was pointed straight towards the stars. "Watch out, up there!" She shouted, like she was giving a warning to whoever or whatever would be unlucky enough to get smacked by what would be the most amazing serve she'd ever done. As she threw the ball straight up, all of the frustration, anger, and of course, five hundred times the amount of genki was about to be put into that jump serve and just like that, with a loud smack that could be heard echoing through out the quiet area, the thing she held onto dearly once upon a time was sent flying towards the night sky. Her eyes followed the ball as it gradually disappeared, probably landing on an unsuspecting animal somewhere which made her regret hitting it so hard... just a little bit of regret.

"Hey, hey, it looked just like a mini rocket I launched right there, right!? Fufu, watch it shoot down a UFO, I bet you it'll come flying towards us tomorrow!" She grinned as both her hands flew up with victory signs, happily joking just for the sake of keeping the negative thoughts from ruining the memorable moment she was creating with her friends. After that night, thoughts about wishes and falling stars were far from her mind because despite how odd and how much of a believer she was in all things supernatural, wishes weren't real. I'm not a kid anymore, I know how those things work. I can achieve everything on my own... not through any other means like wishes. Not with anyone else's help, because... Yup, because eventually it'll all come out, they'll reveal themselves. As a liar.

I'm better off shouldering it on my own.

"Theoooo! I'm leaving now! Your lunch is on the table, don't forget it, okaaaaay?" She called out while grabbing a cold bottle of lemon green tea out of the fridge and her bag before bursting out the front door. Today seemed normal, just like any other routine day, but the only difference is today was the grand spanking opening of Percy's Place and she was extremely excited about it. Although, she couldn't help but wonder why Percy wore the same dead expression every time he saw her, kind of like that look you have when you're contemplating all of your life choices up until now. "Hmmm... maybe he's observing my work habits... yeah, maybe. Like an evaluation type thing? Yeah... welp, I mean, it sounds right to me! I don't think I've done anything wrong in particular!" She nodded just to confirm with herself that she was correct about everything she just said, oblivious to the fact that she might just be wrong, but thoughts of his questionable expression towards her quickly left her mind when an open tennis court came into view. It was the campus tennis court that she had been forced to use a while ago since she had decided to be extra fussy about having to leave practice early on account of the school needing to use the space for some event. I was just following what everyone else was doing, sheesh. Well, I was just doing a better job at it than they were. The rest of the team that day had all thrown a fit while she was actually being fussy about how they weren't listening to her about using a different space, so of course being the short tempered, quick to turn girls they were, Mina was put on the tennis courts. That was her space for a good month... but wait, there's a flip side to this! I was able to get the princess to notice me, hehe. Unfortunately for Rin, Mina had spent that entire. Month. Smacking balls in her direction, a very wrong way to get senpai to notice you. Half of the balls had actually gone flying over the fence on the days where she felt extra hyped, telling herself, 'TODAY IS THE DAY FOR SURE.' Of course, it wasn't long for the school to get complaints from the students and staff who had the pleasure of nearly getting a concussion from her not so full proof plan of getting Rin's attention. Luckily her month long confinement at the tennis courts was over, making deadly volleyballs a thing of the past, but that doesn't mean they didn't make her collect all of the balls that missed their target and ended up in the bushes along the line of trees that hugged the campus. Her feet came to a sudden halt, hands on hips, as she overlooked the clearly overgrown bushes that she planned to quickly zig zag through. "Okay! Here we go! Yas yas!" With the shout of her battle cry, she was off! Off into the not so unknown depths of the campus bushes that really needed to be trimmed.

After several minutes had passed by, there was already a small little pile of balls gathered in front of the lining, most of them had a few tears and marks here and there. Mina continued to search around the bushes and behind the trees, hopping from one spot to another while a couple passer by's gave her some questionable looks. Her eyes scanned over the rather long line of green. "Yas, so far so good!" She beamed, giving her self a mental pat on the back for some self-encouragement since this was definitely not a fun task. "Oh, I should probably hurry or else I'll be late for the opening," she reminded herself, not knowing whether or not they may or may not wonder where she'd possibly gotten stuck this time. As she searched through the bushes for a final time, a rather large white cloth that was a little bit deeper into the lining caught her attention. It was normal to find random things in hiding in greenery, nevertheless even a regular cloth still peaked her curiosity and it was probably her imagination to blame for that. Her arm reached out for the cloth, it was just barely within her grasp, but it was obvious that there was a high chance she'd be stuck if she had gone in any further. So, what option does that leave her with? Poking, of course. "Hmm? It's... hard? But still kind of soft... is it an animal? Wait... IS IT A PUPPY? A DOGGO!?" She questioned, eager to unveil what this mysterious thing was. IF IT ONLY IT WERE WITHIN MY REACH. WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?

Was it a dog? A puppy!? Well, whether or not it was, she had gotten herself all hyped up over the idea that it may have been one and that she was lucky enough to be the person to find the cute little ‘doggo’, but then… “O-oh?” She stared at the cloth as it slowly rose up to reveal that she was very wrong in her assumption. “Ooo, that is definitely not a doggo,” she marveled at the looming figure that stood before her, curious as to who or what this… this thing was. Though, she was a tiny bit let down that it wasn’t a cute puppy she had expected it to be, but any traces of disappointment was quickly replaced with excitement and wonder. Now, any normal person would have been shocked, scared or something along those lines if they had saw what she saw: a tall shirtless lunatic man stumbling about and punching trees. Mina was… odd to say the least, so instead of being surprised by his actions, her eyes grew wider with interest. Questions began running through her head like, who is this person? Could you really call him a person though? He didn't seem the least bit like your average Joe, so then you would dub him a 'thing', right? From what she saw so far, he seemed like he was one of those super ill tempered jerk face's she saw often on campus. How great for her, but she couldn't deny that despite how challenging and obnoxious they were, they were also pretty fun to mess with.

As soon as he stood up, his fist flew straight into one of the trees near him with enough force to make literally half the leaves come raining down on them. You would think he was done beating up the greenery when he leaned back against a different tree, her shoulders which had risen up little by little from anticipation dropped before shooting up again after a kick went flying into another tree. This time, nearly ALL of the leaves came falling down, leaving the tree almost naked along with a nice huge crack in the center of it's trunk. The sound of crackling from the impact rang through her ears for about ten seconds afterwards as she eyed the trees in awe realizing this person was definitely not like her. No human could do what he did no matter how furious they were. Oho, that is a lot of pent of genki. Or maybe it's anger, he looks like someone who would flip tables over small things. Hmm, if everyone else were here, they'd tell me to steer clear of him... BUT, THEY'RE NOT. Soooo... She was eager to speak to the jerk face, but had no idea where to start! She began brainstorming some questions along with topics to talk about it, then thought it might be a good idea to just start bombing him with the simple stuff like where are you from? What are you? Do you have some amazing ability like the one's you'd see in movies? Things of those sort and just when she was about to unleash a flood of questions, another idea came to her. WAIT, I NEED TO SNAP A PICTURE. It's not everyday you see an otherworldly creature! Yas, okay, I should make it quick. She quickly reached into the back pocket of her jeans for her phone, ready to take up the once in a life time chance of getting a picture of a supernatural being all while trying to contain her enthusiasm so that she could get a good, solid picture. It took a couple seconds of fidgeting when she finally managed to get a good angle. "OK! Annnnnd, snap..." She said quietly, trying to get her voice down in case he were to wonder what creepy thing she was doing with her phone. In her defense, she was just trying to solidify proof that supernatural beings really do exist, unfortunately for her it didn't click in her mind that she was just taking a picture of a normal looking man, the only slightly weird part was that he was shirtless and was beating up trees.

A cute little snapshot sound effect confirmed the photo was saved onto her phone and she was maybe a little too excited about sending it in a group text to the others. God knows what they would think once they opened it up and just saw a shirtless dude, it was too late to ponder on it since she had already decided that she would do just that, but then she heard him speaking to her asking if she was the one who shot him down followed by telling her to help him up unless she wanted to be killed. At first, she couldn't help but get hung up on the fact that she just referred to as a 'f*cker'. Who wouldn't be bothered by that? Her legs shot up as she just simply looked at him with her arms crossed and cheeks all puffed up, wondering what far off world this 'thing' came from. "F*cker? You know, normally people would ask questions like 'where am I' before asking someone to PLEASE help them out. Hmph... and here I thought you were a cute puppy, but instead I find a jerk face." She pouted, but then suddenly recalled that he said something about being shot down which led to her to remember the night she had smacked her old volleyball towards the sky. At the time, she had joked about shooting down a UFO and it appearing the next morning, but of course how could that even be possible? When has someone ever heard of a dinky little object such as a torn up volleyball hitting a UFO or anything in the sky for that matter? She began moving from side to side, looking for the ball that she thought was out of her life forever until she saw it laying right there in front of him, the eyesore she so badly wanted to get rid of was right there before her. All of a sudden being called a f*cker didn't matter anymore as her pout turned into awe and curiosity. She looked at him with more interest that before, her big brown curious eyes sparkling with amazement. "Hey, hey! If I shot you down with that ball of mine, then you must be an alien, right!? Ohhhh, a UFO! I actually shot one down! Oh, wait, I'm getting too excited... BUT I ACTUALLY SHOT ONE DOWN WITH MY CRUDDY BALL." She gushed, bouncing with overwhelming joy thinking how truly great it was that somehow she managed to knock something like an alien down. "Fufu, I've impressed even myself!" She smirked, it was quite a feat indeed. So amazing that she had forgotten about the time. "Nooo, wait! I forgot about the opening! Mmm, what time is it..." She clicked the home button to see that she wasn't particularly late late, there was still a few minutes to get there in no time if she ran her a** off. Before she would go dashing off, she began to send a group text to let them know she was on her way and more importantly—she shot down a UFO!

"Hum hum... where's the photo I took... oh, here it is. Annd, send!" For some reason, she didn't include his face or head in the photo but had no problem taking a picture of just his upper and middle body, shirtless of course. It didn't occur to her what the others may think once they had the chance to open her text though they didn't seem like the type of people to jump to conclusions from a picture of shirtless man... at least, that's what she thought in her head. She slid her phone back into her back pocket and extended her hand out to the alien. "Soo, I'm gonna take you along with me! You looked pretty clueless to me the moment you started fightin' with the trees so it'd be a bad idea to just leave you here... Buuut, yeah, we gotta hurry cause I'm gonna be super late for something!" She chirped, all ready to head full speed towards Percy's but then she questioned if he would willingly go with her, especially after she apparently shot him down.

All she could do was stare at him curiously as he let out a scream before immediately telling her to shut up, confirming that he was indeed the kind of person she had expected him to be; temperamental, rude, and foul-mouthed. Plus, to top it all off, he was pretty handsome by normal human standards that people would definitely turn heads, even more so that he didn't bother to put his shirt back on for some reason. For the most part, he seemed... interesting despite how much of a jerk he was, but then she realized that someone like him would make Percy's opening a lot more grand than he wanted. She couldn't help but imagine how everyone would take to such a person, especially Finn and Rin. It was all a going to be a surprise that she looked slightly forward to."Primitive?" She questioned, puzzled by what part of the things she was saying led him to think it was primitive. After all, they were essentially both speaking the same language which just made everything more confusing. "Hm, I thought we were speaking the same language. I mean, of course we are or I wouldn't be able to understand you right now, so I guess that makes you primitive too, right?" She flashed him a smile, waiting for a response only to get picked up and thrown over the alien's shoulder like a sack of potato's. W-what is he doing now? ... am I in the middle of getting abducted? ... AM I GOING TO BE PROBED? Suddenly, her mind was filled with the possible outcomes to this so-called abduction that was in process, things like using strange instruments to dissect her or making her do weird tests to gain a better understanding of humans, or wait... the possibility of mating didn't even escape her mind. Of course, these were just the conclusions she jumped to based on the various movies she watched about UFO's and other things of the sort which were probably not something people should take literally. For the next several minutes, it was just a flood of alien movie scenes replaying over and over again until he spoke again about how he was going to go wherever she gave him directions towards, only because he wanted to go there and not because she needed to be there. "Is this what people call tsundere?" She whispered quietly, though she was overjoyed that he indirectly to go with her to the cafe since it would mean the chance to show off living and breathing proof that alien's really do exist.

"Okaay, well, head down that road there first." She directed while leading him through pointing every which direction they needed to go. They hadn't been walking for long when she noticed that her arms and legs were still dangling from his shoulders. From the many instances she'd seen in movies and read in books and manga's ninety-nine percent of the time anything that wasn't human usually looked down on them, which they would promptly announce followed by something along the lines of, 'You humans are filthy.' It wasn't like he hadn't already done that, seeing as her 'primitive language' seemed to bother him and just talking seemed to be annoying as well... maybe he just disliked her. She had literally just found him, so it was not surprising if he did since they had known each other for all of about five to ten minutes, but then wasn't that even more reason not to make physical contact with her? Also, it wasn't like she was not capable of walking on her own. "You know, um... no matter how you see humans we can walk on our own. So, c-could you LET ME DOWN?" She began flailing her legs and arms, struggling to somehow 'slip through' his arm but all it did was cause even more people to give them increasingly funny stares. Some were more concerned about looking at the alien's body before noticing he was carrying around a girl that could've have been comparable to a noodle the way she was moving around. Her struggle continued for a few more minutes when she finally realized it was pretty much useless... all of the complaining and whining were ignored as he just continued to walk quietly. He's following my directions so I guess it works out. Ahh, but I hate feeling like a rag doll. I didn't asked to be taxi'd around on this alien's shoulder. Mina sighed in defeat, accepting her fate and continued to point out the directions to Percy's to him. Luckily for her their destination came into view shortly after all her flailing had stopped which she expected was his cue to let her down, but instead he was planning to walk in there still carrying her like it wasn't a problem. Obviously, yelling and screaming at him about it was pointless so there wasn't much of a choice but to just go with it. "Turn me around before you walk in so I can wave to my friends!" She chirped up, receiving a grunt for a response before being bridal carried inside. BRIDAL CARRY? ... mm, it's not so bad, fufu. That little stunt was sure to raise more questions with her friends seeing as she wasn't the most charming girl, so to have her walk in, no—carried in like a princess with this shirtless man was beyond shocking, but she didn't look the least bit bothered by it as she began waving to them. "Ohai everyone! I tried to make it here as fast as I could! This alien here, um..." She looked up at him, clueless as to what to call him. At the time she found him, introductions weren't exactly exchanged nor was it something she thought of doing due to all the excitement she had. "Hm... Mr. Alien, yes. Mr.Alien brought me here." She nodded, confirming that was indeed all he was or what she assumed he was after being told he was shot out of the sky.

After their grand entrance, she was dropped onto her feet and began dusting herself off while looking over the faces that crowded the place. There was Percy, Finn, and Alexei, but then she took notice of the rest of the new faces. Who were they? Were they friends with the others? There were three other girls there, all looking absolutely beautiful, causing her to just stare in awe. Although, it wasn't long until her attention was back on Mr.Alien questioning her about what they all did, leaving Mina curious as to what exactly he meant by that. "Hey hey, first off, watch that dirty mouth of yours! Second of all, what do you mean by that?" Her eyes scanned over the new faces once more before resting on him again. "Do you know these people? If you do, you're a super lucky guy, hehe... w-wait." She tapped her index finger on the bottom of her lip softly, questioning the situation further. Had she knocked all of these alien's down in a pinball kind of way with her volleyball? That would've impressive as hell if she did, further fueling her ego that was already pretty big after finding out she knocked down Mr. Alien. "Hey hey, did anything weird happen to you guys today?" She directed the question towards the others as she hopped around from one pair to the other, eyeing them like she was some sort of detective.
