Welcome!

This shop sells layouts for Gaia Profiles. I can work with both Classic (v1) or Current (v2) profiles, and along with basic edits like colours and fonts, I can also do things such as create custom sections, 'tabbed layouts', use hover effects, custom styled media players, custom cursors or scrollbars, and use filters and animations (within the boundaries of CSS3). I'm very happy to integrate a piece of avatar art into a layout (with permission from the artist) or create coding to allow a graphic to function as a profile.

My shop is currently: Open/Closed

This is a bribe/offer shop, but to ensure that I can devote the time and resources to giving you a high quality profile, I do have some price minimums.

For coding only, please offer at least 7,000p
For coding and profile graphics, please offer at least 15,000p

In general, the more you pay, the more involved work I can do on your profile (CSS animation, rendering images etc) . I may also accept items of a similar value (wishlist items are super loved but anything that isn't hard to sell is fine), GC Gift Cards, or I love art trades. If you're interested in trading your art for one of my profiles, please send me some samples!

I may also occasionally do profile freebies which will be designed as layouts that can be readily used. If you have any theme suggestions, let me know!

ABOUT ME

~I've been on Gaia since 2008 and tinkering with profiles since then, but I got more serious about this in 2013
~I've created a variety of layouts for myself and friends in the past
~My special interests when it comes to profiles include CSS animation and responsive design though I'm very happy to work with whatever a customer has in mind when it comes to a layout. Very simple or very complex are both fine!

ABOUT THE PROFILES

~I aim to have a turnaround of a week on profiles (on the proviso I have all necessary information), so you should be able to get your layouts in a timely fashion. Owing to time constraints, I will be taking one order at a time. My thread title should indicate if I am taking orders or not.
~I won't copy someone else's layout for you, but if you do find a feature of a profile particularly interesting, I can use that as inspiration.
~I can work with media for example a Youtube video, and resize your player or design a custom play button to fit in with your profile theme.
~I won't create hidden auto-play media.
~I can work with as many panels and custom sections as you wish.
~I won't use images unless you have permission from the artist (this includes avatar art). Just because you can find it online doesn't mean it's free to use. This is part of Gaia's rules relating to graphics and services, and is also just general good ettiquette. I can help point you to some resources which are under a Creative Commons license or are otherwise free to use.
~I won't make alterations to your profile header which contravene profile rules and guidelines (I can change the colour, font etc but I can't move it or remove the Gaia Logo. Please read the rules and guidelines of the Profile Discussion or ask me if you need more clarification)
~I will work with your predesigned graphic so it functions as a profile -remember, this has to have permission from the artist. I would be happy to consider doing this on a piece-by-piece basis for other shops and we could chat about prices.
~I will endeavour to make your profile functional in current Firefox, Chrome and Opera. I can't guarantee future-proofing your profile, especially with the speed that browsers bring out updates. If you primarily use another browser, let me know and I'll do my best to work with that.
~I will try and make your profile look its best in your preferred screen resolution, while considering other window sizes.

ORDERING

If you would like to order, please fill in the order form and post your reply. When I accept your order, please send a trade for the agreed amount/item. I'll accept my end once when I'm done work on the coding and send you a preview of the profile. I can make minor alterations at this stage but if you wanted a major rework, we'd need to discuss additional payment. I'll stay in contact with you, especially if there's anything happening which I think needs confirmation or is causing technical issues. If you're happy, please accept the trade and then I'll send you code and any relevant instructions for installing your profile.

Please be very specific with what you have in mind! The more specific you are, the closer the profile will be to what you have envisioned. Saying 'I want a CMYK tabbed layout with a striped background' is much better than 'please give me a colourful profile'. I've put in a few options to get you started with ideas. I may ask you more questions before accepting your offer. Feel free to draw a picture of what you have in mind, or tell me if you'd like something similar in style to one of my samples or another profile. I won't sell a profile which is identical to one I've made for another user, but I'm definitely happy to reuse concepts. Don't forget you can browse the resources below this form for some ideas.

Form Explanation
I would like to order a profile!: This bit just tells me you'd love to order. ^ ^;;;;;
v1 or v2 profile? If you don't want a specific feature/don't care, I can pick whichever I'd think would be easiest to work with. Remember that Mutual Friends is v1 only and Recent Visitors is v2 only. Basically everything else is interchangable. v2 profiles also give you the option to add picture or text decorations (like a friend's avatar) readily, though I can do this on a v1 profile via code.
Colours/themes you'd like in your profile: Things which you'd like! E.g. pastel rainbow, spring, black & white, stripes, fantasy, minimal.... Having something here really helps me know what you want
Sections you'd like in your profile: E.g. About, wishlist, comments. I can add as many custom sections as you like if you want to add an art gallery, extra links etc.
Do you want a particular font? Aside from common fonts (Arial, Times New Roman etc.) you can look at the resources below for webfonts I can use, or you can leave me to pick out something which is thematically suitable
Do you want a media player, and if so, which kind? Have a look here for possible options.
Are there any particular images you'd like included? As per the Personalised Graphics rules and guidelines, you'll need to have permission from the artist to use them (if you want to use avi art sending me a screenshot of a the message saying you have permission would be fine). Please be aware that this means that it's not possible to use images from things like anime/games/cartoons unless you or someone you know does fan-art. If you just have ideas for what kind of images, I can help point you to some resources which are free for commercial use (words which may help you search include Creative Commons or Public Domain). I'm also able to make some graphics myself for a layout or to complement selected images so don't feel like you have to pick everything or even have an image in this section. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions about image use!
Any other things? If you're not sure if I can do something with effects, you can always ask! I'll tell you no if I think that it's outside of my capabilities or just impossible with CSS. This would be a spot to ask for things like a tabbed layout, a clickable art gallery, or a bouncing avatar.

If you have a layout plan in your head, sometimes a rough sketch (yes a paint doodle is totally fine) is good so that we're on the same page. If you don't give me one, I'll probably sketch one myself once we've got some ideas together so you can see what I have in mind.

RESOURCES

Here's a few useful resources you can use for profile ideas.

Google Fonts: I can use any font here for your profile as text, so it can be used for the main body and the profile header.
Open Font Library: I can also use fonts from here as text.
DA Font: I can use any font here marked as being suitable for commercial use to create header text as part of an image.
Freepik: I can use images here which are free for commercial use (they'll say free from Freepik) as a background or image
Creative Commons Search: I can use images you can find through here for a background or decoration.
Pixabay: This site has lots of high quality photos which can be used in profiles
Colour Lovers: This site has a bunch of colour palettes for you to look at for inspiration.
Transparent Textures: This site has lots of textures which can be used for backgrounds or layering
Subtle Patterns: This site has simple patterns which may look nice as backgrounds
Project Gutenberg: The books and illustrations here are in the public domain. Use your favourite classic story as part of your layout! (E.g. Alice in Wonderland, Peter Rabbit)
Freerange Stock: More free stock images to use as backgrounds or images
Texture Zoom: Free stock textures and images
Vectorific: Free vectors
Antique Images: Old images in the public domain
Unsplash: More (gorgeous) quality photos suitable for profiles

FREEBIES

Some profile layouts which are free for anyone to enjoy. There's no charge for using these but I'd love to know if you're using one! I endeavour to make these layouts so that you can copy and paste them into your theme override without any other work on your part and free of bugs, but if you have any troubles, please let me know! I'm human and do make mistakes on occasion. It's okay to make edits yourself, but please do not resell these profiles or modified versions of these profiles. You can also view these (plus work from other profile creators) on Gaia Tools. To allow me to keep more layouts visible because of the post character limit, I've linked to their Gaia Tools pages where there's a copy of the code hosted that you can easily apply to your profile.

Geometric Rave

This layout will look its best in my opinion if you have exactly 9 panels or at least a multiple of 3, but it can work for any number. The colours of each panel change over time!

This is a simple v2 layout with translucent panels and a spring feel (nothing says spring like Sakura right? Or is that just spring in Japan....)

This is a Classic layout made featuring illustrations by Frank P. Mahony from the Australian classic 'Dot and the Kangaroo'. There's space for your avatar, About, Wishlist, Comments and a Youtube video.

This is a current layout which lays out all 3 columns in a central column. There's lots of room either side to add picture decorations if you want, or it's a nice minimal theme as-is. Panels expand when moused over.

This is a Tumblr-inspired current theme with most of your content in a single column. To get the effect in the preview you'll need to have a Details and Contact panel added, but the theme will work without these. You can swap out the wallpaper for whatever you'd like.
