Hi guys! I've decided to work on opening up a pet shop, and I need a little help deciding what type of pets I'll make, what they'll cost, and what the shop will be like! Oh, and of course, what it'll be called!

PETS

Here's the first 2 pet concepts:

Concept #1 Info:
Location: Land
Eats: Plants
Size: Ranges from as small as a pony, to as big as an elephant, depending on the space and food available in it's habitat.
Background: A social animal that travels in herds. It's eyes are positioned so that it has a 360 degree view of the horizon. It only ever turns it's head to eat, bite, scratch, sniff, or hear. A gentle creature unless threatened, it is often trained and kept as pets, or as working animals, much like dogs, horses, and elephants today.

Concept #2 Info:
Location: Land
Eats: Plants + Meat
Size: Ranges between the size of a house cat, to a lion, depending on the space and food available in it's habitat.
Background: A social animal that hunts in packs. It has incredible balance, and even though it only has two legs, it can climb up trees and cliffs using it's long legs and toes. It's crest is used as a form of communication, and as a display to attract mates. Males are often more vibrant in colour. They are often kept as pets, and as hunting partners.

Concept #3 Info:
Location: Water
Eats: Plants + Meat
Size: Ranges between as small as a minnow, to as big as a whale.
Background: A solitary creature that may travel in small groups. It's head is a hard, transparent dome, and it's eyes are inside of it. They can rotate to look different directions, but are often scanning the water above for food. It has a bioluminescent organ in it's forehead that is often concidered a jewel. It can only ever have one handler.

Concept #4 Info:
Location: Air
Eats: Meat
Size: Ranging from the size of a song bird, to the size of a small jet plane.
Background: A solitary creature that may travel in small groups. It has four eyes located on it's beak, allowing it to see above and below it 360 degrees. It's eyes are often mistaken for jewels, while it's curved nostrils on it's belly are mistaken for it's eyes. It hunts by diving and spearing it's prey with it's beak. It has two slits running down it's belly that a pair of hard "skids" come out of during a landing, though they spend little time on the ground. Only small ones are ever kept as pets, while larger creatures are trained as a form of transportation.

PRICES

Ok; I need some serious help here! I'll be offering those four pets (unless changed), breedings, and customs. I may offer items made specifically for the pets in the future, but untill then, that's all I need suggestions on!

Edited title. I'm starting to doubt my creations; the first two, I think would work out ok; they're kinda cute, and that seems popular. The other two... not so much. They're supposed to look very alien, and they do, but I'm not sure how popular that'll turn out.

Suggestions for what direction I should go in, and other species ideas, woud be greatly appriciated!

Oh, and if you're wondering why I don't have any plans on hiring Colourists; I can't pay you, and I can pretty much do it myself. Sorry guys!

Yeah, I imagined the first would. I'll probably hold off on the last two, and tweak the second one. More likely than not, I'll try to make more attractive looking creatures. (I find freaky creatures to be fun to look at, but I know a lot of people would rather have a cutesy pet than a creepy one!)

I've been scanning through shops, read a few fully, but only those that I felt were worth reading.

My plans right now would be to get a basic, simple shop up, and work on it as I go. (What's my simple? Not as detailed as most shops, but not just the bare bones, either!) The idea is that we'll be "under construction", but will be able to provide a few simple pets in the meantime!

I have no plans in hiring a layout artist; I plan to do that myself. I've created a few sites for myself, so I'm sure I'll find a way to spice up my thread. I won't have as many pretty images as other shops would, I'm sure. I feel that makes things a little cluttered. At least, with my idea! And as for storylines; I don't really plan on having any, besides background information on the purpose of the species.

And familiars? I'll have those, for sure! The "Common" pets, as I'd call them, will most likely be just solid colours, or different shades of a colour. The three primary colours, if you will. When they breed, they'll make different colours! Simple, but pretty diverse!

Right now, my "Theme" for the shop I plan to put in place; A sort of Labratory dedicated to making creatures as companions, and for other uses. Mainly companions, though! ("Ziel Omizu" is my 'sona, and she was an experement. So, I'll be running the shop. I might put a little bit of her history up as a background story.)
