  • Start a trade with me, THE Santa Claus. Change the title of the trade to include the word "Ticket."
    Mules may buy tickets and participate, too.

Post 4: Bumping Contest Guidelines


Welcome to the bumping portion of THE Charity Spring Circus event. I hope you will take some time to read over the guidelines, so this can go as smoothly as possible. Thank you.

1. Purchase a ticket from THE Santa Claus (start and complete a trade)
2. After you have purchased a ticket (or if you are in the process of purchasing one) you may start bumping.
3. Please send a PM to me, Elf Chicken, with BUMPING CONTEST in the title before you start. Let me know if you are a regular bumper or if you are bumping for a charity.
4. If you're bumping for a charity and yourself, every bump MUST BE SEPARATE. One bump for you can't also be one bump for the charity.
5. Each bump needs to go in a separate post. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
6. Number your bumps. Failure to do so will result in being voided. Meaning: They will not count.
7. If you are bumping for a charity, it MUST state that in every post. You may use logos, banners or words. If there is no name of a charity, I will count it as a regular bump for you.
8. You must be on THE List by the end of the event to win a prize
9. Have fun and be nice to everyone!!
10. If you are unclear of the rules, please re-read the rules again before you PM me.

There will be Regular Pre-Event winners and Event winners. Charities will get extra gold depending on their post counts. There is no gift for charity winners, just more gold for that charity.

Pre-Event Contest is from 12:01am PST March 10th-31st, ends 10pm PST
Regular bumpers MUST start over with their numbering on March 31st at 10pm. I will post on the thread to let you all know that regular bumpers need to start over.
Charity numbering will continue throughout the Pre-Event and Event.
Event Bumping contest is from 10:01pm PST March 31 -April 4th, ends 10pm PST

THE Charity Spring Circus Logic Puzzles are posted in THE Spring Circus Logic Puzzles thread as is the list of who solved which puzzles. Please DO NOT post the answers to any of the puzzles anywhere. Just PM your solutions to me, AnnElf.

To be eligible to win prizes, you must buy a ticket to THE Event (only 700g) and solve at least one of the Puzzles in the thread linked above.

I will choose a random Clever Elf by counting all correct puzzle solutions and then using Gaia's Random Number generator to pick a number to win. So the more puzzles you solve, the more chances you have to win!

Each logic puzzle will get progressively harder. You may PM me, AnnElf, about them as often as you like. This is not "first answer = only answer" situation. I definitely believe in second (and third and so on) chances! Please keep your answers in the order given in the introduction.

I would like to thank Everett Kaser who designed the game Sherlock, upon which all these puzzles were based.

~ Post 7: THE Circus Avatar Contests~

There will be two avatar contests: one for a TekTek and another for a "snapshot". Be sure to read the rules to both of them as they are separate, but similar contests. These contests do have an fee for your first entry, but all proceeds go towards prizes. So the more the entrants, the better the prize! The prizes for each contest will be as follows:

1st place = User Image 2,000 gold & User ImageUser Image Clown "outfit" (Choice of 1 Clown Pants, 1 Clown Nose, Choice of 1 Clown makeup, Choice of 1 Clown Shoes, and Rainbow Wig)
2nd place = User Image 1,000 gold & User ImageUser Image Two(2) Clown Shoes of your choice
3rd place = User Image 500 gold & User ImageUser Image Two(2) Juggling Balls of your choice

RULES for both contests:
1) In order to enter the contests, you must be a ticket holder in THE Charity Spring Circus event.
2) Tektek/avatar must have a Circus theme. It can be something like a clown, acrobat, lion tamer, etc. Whatever suits your fancy.
3) Tektek/avatar does not have to have a minimum or maximum worth. All is fair in this game, including the use of special skins.
4) The tektek/avatar must be clothed though. No exploiting nude glitches, or leaving off some sort of top or bottom on the tektek. Follow the Gaia rules, no?
5) Hint: It may be hard for the judges to make out everything you add on if it is too cluttered.
6) I, OtherWorldShukumei, will be a judge. Other judges will include any of Santa's helpers that are interested in doing so, but then they are not eligible to be a contestant in the contest. (PM me if you're interested in judging, helpers. 3nodding )
7) Entry is free this year!
8 ) Max of 5 entries per person per contest (so grand total of 10).
9) All entries are due in by April 5th at 8pm PST.

~ Post 8: THE Charity Spring Circus Mad Libs ~


Here are some mad libs to keep you entertained during the pre-event and the event itself! Unfortunately I didn't have much luck finding circus-themed mad libs, so this time the theme is.... animals!

This is not like the other contests. These mad libs are here for your entertainment! So instead of having a few large prizes, everyone who fills out a mad lib (or several - it's up to you) will receive a small prize. :3

These are very simple. Below are some links to mad libs. It's up to you which one you would like to fill in. Once you fill it in, click the generate button at the bottom and then PM the completed mad lib to me, Lindori.

~POST 11: SHORT STORY CONTEST~

As my name implies, I am a bard at heart. For those of you who don't know what that is, I shall enlighten you. The greatest bard that ever lived, some would say, was William Shakespeare. He was a consummate story teller, and that is what we bards do best. We tell stories using a wide range of ways in which to do it. Songs, stories, plays, we utilize them all.

So for my contest, you will be composing a short story, focusing on springtime. Grammar and punctuation will be highly looked at, so make sure you check and doublecheck your entry before submitting it. Having entered many a writing contest here on Gaia myself, and knowing how difficult it can be to convey a story when limited to a set number of words, I will forego giving a word count limit. Use however many you need, but remember, this is a "Short" story contest, and if your entry is exceptionally long, it will not get as many points awarded to it.

Your entry is to be sent to me in a PM, and not posted in the guild thread. I don't want anyone's entry being scrutinized by anyone but me before the contest is over. Once judged and awarded, all stories will be posted in the guild thread for everyone to read.
