Seeking artists to do avi art for booty grab contest prizes

For the time being this project is on hold.
This is not because of the artists; you guys are great.
It's because since I started this project Gaia has seriously nerfed booty grab in spite of Lanzer's promise not to hurt the ROI of tank owners who had already purchased fish.
My tank gold is what has paid for the prizes in my booty grab thread including art. Now that gold income is down to about 40% of what it was even before Dolphinmania came along even though I my tanks are posted in a lot more booty grab threads than they were back then. And that is with still having full dolphin tanks. Once the dolphins die off my income will drop a lot more because Gaia has not introduced any fish that is a suitable replacement for the dolphins. Naturally a replacement would have to produce less gold than a dolphin or it would not help inflation but most of us were expecting them to come out with SOMETHING that was a decent fish. Gwees were pretty okay but then Gaia nerfed them too.
In short I may not have the funds to do this project.
I do have some gold hoarded and will probably commission those I have already spoken to for either doing a prize art or a personal commission. I feel bad that several of you have invested personal time talking to me in PMs and then this has been delayed forever. First it was going to Montana for the birth of my newest grandchild. Then I thought I would get back to this when I returned but while I was gone Gaia made some serious changes. I've been tracking my tank gold for a couple of weeks now and holding off posting here hoping I was wrong. Apparently I am not because my numbers are steadily low and I'm hearing similar comments from other HT tank owners.
It is okay to post your links here and something may still come of it.
I just want to be up front this project is moving at glacier speed while I wait and see what Gaia does with fish and booty grab.
So here's the deal.
I have a reasonably popular booty grab thread - Dancing Dolphins Raining Gold.
I have the usual random number and dice roll contests.
A friend suggested giving out avi art as a prize and the idea sounds interesting. The purpose of this thread is to see if some artists are interested.
I think it could be an opportunity to give an artist(s) additional work and exposure and give the people playing my booty grab thread a fun prize.
Here are the general parameters I am thinking of:
I'm looking for good quality art and willing to pay a reasonable fee for it.
I prefer vividly colored art which I think would typically mean computer colored.
I like avi full body but am willing to consider head shot or other.
Artist needs to be able to provide the artwork within a reasonable time after contest is won. If this is a problem there might be a way to work around it like create a contest that ends on a certain date or stating the prize will be awarded on (date) or within 'X' amount of time after winning entry.
Since we don't know ahead of time who will win artist needs to establish guidelines as to what they will or won't do. I will publish these guidelines as part of the contest rules. I don't want the winner disappointed but I also don't want the artist getting stuck with some horribly complex avi.
In the interest of making this work I am willing to pay out of pocket for minor complications. For instance if an avi's hat or sash or something makes the art work an extra 5k or 10k because it is more complicated I'll just pay you a bonus on top of the previously agreed upon price. My desire is for this to be a win-win for both artist and contest winner.
I am willing to consider more than one artist for subsequent prizes or using the same artist more than once.
I would like permission to post artist's name and a representative sample of the art the contestants are trying for. I am also willing to post a link or banner to your art shop or guild to give you more exposure. Three or four days ago I posted a poll on my thread. Since then 366 people have responded plus any visitors who chose not to vote in the poll.
If you are an artist interested in this offer please post a sample of your work (or links), price range and any stipulations. If you have questions or comments post them here. It is okay to PM me if you feel the need.
I am also open to suggestions on how to make this work. I would like this to be a good thing for all concerned. I'm spending gold on prizes anyway so if I can give some of it to the art community that's a bonus. smile
