Dear patrons, I am sorry to say that I am discontinuing this b/c before it even begins. However, this is only TEMPORARY. I'm thinking of only holding this for a bit longer than I originally expected. I'm sad to have to see it go but it's for my best interest because I am currently thinking of going into a newer project that is more in my league.

Hello and welcome to Genaesia's B/C Interest Thread!

Genaesia is a work in progress (W.I.P.) future B/C shop that relies on RP to grow your pets. This project has been ongoing for a while now since October 1st, 2009 and will probably be open around, hopefully, January/February (really depends on when I'm moving to my new home, I want to be settled before I begin a huge huge project). Needless to say, I am very excited as the time comes nearer to opening and hopefully, you are too as the purpose of this interest thread is not only for planning and hiring (done), but to gather interested parties as well. We definitely can't open an RP shop without some fans now, can we?


House rules within this thread is simple.

:: [ Story ] ::

[ In the Beginning ] --- Before the creation of Genaesia, times were bleak and dark for all magic users alike (witches, wizards, high leveled users, low leveled users, etc). Due to the imbalance of power between magic users and non-magic users, people became afraid of magic users and shunned them. In order to gain power, many non-magic organizations of witch hunters were formed in order to eradicate magic users around the world.

As years went by and more witch hunting organizations were formed, more and more magic users were also being burned at the stake for being evil and wicked for using witchcraft, the 'devil's magic'. Even common ordinary non-magic users were thought to be magic users and executed wrongfully.

This incident directly led Aeth Genaesia, a young lad of fifteen at the time witch hunting was popular, to creating a hidden oasis meant only for magic users and the creator of Familiars within that oasis.

[ The Devastation ] --- In the land of Genaesia, history tells of a the incident known only as 'The Devastation' that had occurred a thousand years ago. Before the incident, the land of Genaesia thrived with spirits that possesses objects or vessels known as the 'Familiars' living amongst the magic users known as 'Genaesians' as both Genaesians and Familiars lived together peacefully. The peace did not last long for it was during that time that an Outsider came into Genaesia.

For you see, Genaesia is a vast and remote magical land, separated from the rest of the world as it was protected by a barrier made solely of mist and magic. Any normal human or creature whom do not posses any magical ability or the Genaesian seal would walk into it only to come back out after a week without stepping on Genaesian soil.

And so it was told that the coming of the Outsider would see to the end of Genaesia. The Outsider, a rogue magic user and also a witch hunter, found the hidden Genaesia within the mist. He wanted the land and whatever was in it. But because the Genaesians and Familiars refused to submit to him, the Outsider left the land angrily only to bring back with him, a company of Outsiders whom, with his guidance past the mist and magic, trashed and destroyed the sacred land. Unsatisfied, the Outsider had his army of witch hunters slay any magic users they came into contact with.

The Outsider, now satisfied with having Genaesia and the Familiars to himself, tried to govern both Genaesia and the Familiars, but failed. For no matter how sturdy the foundation was built, during the night, it would proceed to collapse. Frustrated, the Outsider did not give up on his ambition and tried to force the Familiars into helping him. Not only did the Familiars not aid him, without their owners, the spirits within the Familiars were once again free of their vessel. The Familiars' 'death' served only to anger the Outsider, so angry that he took a torch to Genaesia and burned it to the ground, leaving not a tree behind and left, vowing to kill any magic users in his path, especially Genaesian magic users.

[ The Rebirth ] --- A mere hundred years later, life within Genaesia started to grow again. New trees peeked out from within the burned ground and sprouted upwards, rainfall and sunshine helped in the growing of life. Before long, the land of Genaesia became alive with animals and the green scenery again. The only thing missing were the Genaesians and Familiars.

It was told that when the Genaesians left the magical land, the founder of Genaesia, Aeth Genaesia, was lucky enough to escape. He took, together with him, his family, and his subjects, the secret to calling the spirits and creating Familiars in hopes that one day, his children would be able to come back to build a new Genaesia and call the spirits back into the land of the living. Centuries passed and as life was growing back within Genaesia, the descendant of Aeth, Fae Genaesia, unlike the rest of her family, loved to hear stories of magic, wonders, and of fantasy.

Despite everyone telling her that Genaesia was just a myth, she spent her teenage years searching and researching the family bibles and historical records in the family library only to find nothing. But just as she was about to enter her 21st birthday, a package containing a book and a box of items were delivered to her without any return addresses. Nonchalantly, she opened the packaging only to find that the book within belonged to her ancestor, Aeth Genaesia, a diary that had been missing for centuries! The box of items within, were the vessels needed to contain spirits into becoming Familiars!

Within the book, lay notes and journals of the way to Genaesia, the calling of spirits, Familiar creation, and other lost secrets. Excited at the new evidence, she set out, to search for the lost magical land. With the book at hand, it didn't take her very long to find Genaesia at all. In fact, it was so fast that it was an anticlimax as the entrance into Genaesia, was actually, all this time, within the opening of an enclosed and locked cave in the forest behind her house. The cave concealed not a pathway but a magic enchanted portal or a gateway meant only for magic users to pass into Genaesia (it would seem that Aeth Genaesia remade the pathway into a portal to hide the true pathway and location of Genaesia).

Upon stepping within Genaesia, runes from centuries ago lay where they fell, covered only with layers of nature's own decoration. The building of Genaesia seemed rather bleak to say the least, as current population now stood at one. It seemed hopeless to rebuild anything from scratch. Thankfully for her, all was not loss. Within the journal of Aeth Genaesia, knowing this day would come to be, he had written down powerful spells for his descendants in order to rebuild, restore, and power Genaesia magically.

All she needed to do now, was to find other Genaesians and magic users like her whom were all, possibly, scattered throughout the world...

:: [ Ideas ] ::

[ Genaesia ] --- Basically, it's a man-made island built in the dark ages when magic was blasphemy and witches were burned. The island was created to be a safe-haven for magic users, to practice magic (within legal magic use, of course). The island was discovered and was disposed of it's occupants not long after by a traitor to all magic users. Fast forward to 2009, the island was rediscovered by a descendant and reopened again to all descendants of the past magic users and new magic users. Even though the world now looks neutrally to magic, there are still witch hunters out there.

[ Familiars ] --- This is basically the B/C "pet" of Genaesia. And no, Familiars are not humanoid. They are animal-like creatures. But they're not the normal kind of animals. They (1st generation) basically starts out as an object and a gem, in order to bring this objects to life, a spirit needs to be summoned into the gem vessel. From there, it becomes a plush-like child familiar, adolescent and in the end, adult familiar. Familiars are bonded to their owners for eternity, till death do they part. Their presence actually enhances both familiar's and owners magical ability and is also a good companion.

[ Alignment ] --- Not all Owners and their Familiars are good though. Just like in the real world, there's not only just one type of people out there, there are several. Ones who are good, bad, the good but kinda bad, the bad but not entirely bad, etc. This of course applies to Familiars as well. Their alignment start to change when they're in their adolescence (this can be observed from their facial expressions) and into adulthood (can be observed from both facial and minor body language).

[ Point System ] --- Instead of having to do certain RP requirements to grow your Familiars, I have established the point system where owners can do quests or RP to obtain certain amount of points. After a certain amount have been reached, their Familiars will be able to grow into their next stage before having to acquire another set amount to grow again. The point system will also allow owners to purchase official Genaesian items that may or may not be helpful to their Familiars.

[ Clans ] --- Replacing journals will be Clans. Each clan will be given a dedicated sub-forum within the guild to place all clan information and chat/RP within the clan (it's basically a clan HQ). However, in order to establish a clan, there needs be at least 6 different members (including the leader) within a clan to be an approved clan as there are VERY limited clan spots within Genaesia. Clans basically rule/take charge of one of the many (14) regions within Genaesia. Sad to say, not everyone can rule a region for very long, depending on clan activity and of course, clan conflicts (RP).

:: [ Types, Species, Stages ] ::

[ Types ] ::

[ Originals ] --- Familiars that used to be objects. All generation ONE (I) Familiars are Originals. Generation one Familiars are considered to be the rarest Familiars within Genaesia. This is due to the limited amount of objects that are actually compatible with gem vessels. Gem vessel itself is very rare. Out of millions of gems mined, only a tiny handful of them are able to act as vessels for spirits.

[ Offsprings ] --- Products of two adult Familiars. All familiars after generation ONE (I) Familiars are Offsprings. Offsprings are considered to be the most common Familiars within Genaesia as they are easily available. This is due to the fact that all female Familiars are able to breed 3 times in their lifetime and their litters are not limited to one.

[ Species ] ::
( Currently, there are only 2 species. )

[ Moubred ] --- Moubreds are mice or rat-like familiars. Having a Moubred is said to heighten both the spirit and the owners sense of vigilance compared to any other Familiars. Most spirits that grow to be Moubreds are always prepared in nature. They tend to adopt the 'Too much too early is better than too little too late' and seem to always have a backup plan planned ahead in case of emergencies.

[ Rhobit ] --- Rhobits are rabbit-like familiars. Having a Rhobit is said to heighten both the spirit and the owner's sense of intuition and awareness. Most spirits that grow to become Rhobits are friendly in nature and tend to seek peace more than violence. However, not all Rhobits will stay this way. It all really comes down to what they learn from their owners.

[ 01 ] --- Are Familiars RP required?
    Yes, all Familiars (except non-growth Familiars) require a set amount of RP for them to grow. We will never take your Familiar away if you do not RP, of course, without RP, your Familiar will stay in the current stage forever, never growing.

[ 02 ] --- When will the planning period end?
    I don't know, seriously. But I'm setting my eyes on January/February, latest by March. I'm moving to Australia in February so I was hoping that I could either open up before I go and let my Manager/RP Manager handle EVERYTHING until I'm settled or wait till after I'm settled and am assured of a working internet line.

[ 03 ] --- You're not giving me a real answer!
    That's because I myself, am not sure DX! Ask me again in a month!

[ 04 ] --- When will the hiring period end?
    Hiring will end in January. I want to start making staff progress by 2010.

[ 05 ] --- Temp or permanent staff?
    Permanent of course! If I can have it my way, for eternity >8D!

[ 06 ] --- Are you hiring colorists?
    There are currently no plans to hire any colorist. Workload right now is at minimal and I'm hoping to keep it that way. I want a dedicated group of RPers that can stay with me in the long run and not a hit and run truck.

I NEED an artist who can cater to all my item needs. You need to be able to lineart new items (e.g. clothes, accessories, hair, etc) for the item shop. Your job is essential. All you really need to do is line the items. Templating and Coloring is not neccessary but is appreciated. Needless to say, part of the profits from selling the items will be going into your pockets.
