We begin our journey with 15th place! For our entry commentary, I went strolling down memory lane and dug up some of my avatars from the years gone by! Without further ado, I give you the 15th place winners, starting with...
Madoneko

The contrast between Black and Jack’s fashions is so great! Love the usage of patterns on the pants and skirt. Jack’s fashion sense is so appropriately eclectic here, and bright, and the layering of the tops is totally suited! She’s looks awesomely cute and Black looks awesomely annoyed! Love, love, love those socks!
Sakemi-chan

This is such a great Tarquinia! I so love this outfit on her, it’s great military style with excellent spade influence! Her hair is totally great, and she has the perfect balance of masculinity and femininity. She totally reads as a fighter and someone who’ll stand toe to toe with any man or woman!
The Zorya

This piece has a great sense of the universe about it, very fitting for the Goddess! I like the way the background transitions from darkness to light above the Goddess, it’s very powerful celestial imagery. The pearlescent curls are the top of the garment turned out quite nicely and there’s a fitting sense of mystery.

Ami may be a combat specialist, but that doesn’t mean she lacks time for quieter moments! Her she is characteristically calm, perhaps winding down after a recent exercise? Really great idea for the character, very cleanly executed!

I just love seeing trios together! I think the choice of posing was really nicely-done. The reaching out, the connection -- it really exemplifies Cael’s connection to Hiram via Agrippina. I like the choice of outfits on them, and Hiram’s hair looks perfect, that’s the color exactly! Also, great attention to Cael’s ear shape, it’s subtle enough that wouldn’t notice it, but if you do know what to look for, it’s simultaneously so obvious!

This piece took a little while to warm up to! (HA HA, PUNS.) I like the usage of background elements and choice of colors on Winter’s bodysuit, which is a clear reference to the Adelphia colors (and therefore quite appropriate). Winter’s expression is great -- coolly calculating and collected, and I like how she’s got a womanly figure that wouldn't seem particularly out of place in reality.

One of my favorite trios! They look awesome here, like they’re heading out for a night on the town maybe? Love the black with the red collar on Trion, I think we’re going to see more of that. :3 Alin-Maya’s eyes are such a gorgeous shade, and I’m digging Trion’s hair. Tarquinia’s eyes look so dark and a bit mysterious and dangerous! Great work there. I also really like how you rendered her mouth.
GAlA-TAMA

Oh man, Misoki’s feet look so awesome here! <3 I think her costume came out really nicely, with lots of little pieces, and I like the transparent elements! Really digging your style, it’s well-suited to Misoki’s build!

The Locksmith is one of my favorite characters, and I’m very happy to say she got an entry! Choosing to depict her literally unlocking Gallifrey was really smart -- great shout-out to the show, I like the contrast between Gallifrey and the blue, and it tells a great story all on its own!
The Zorya

Not only am I in love with the style of this piece, the emotion is so incredibly gorgeous! Moonbeam’s hair looks so full, it’s fantastic, and I adore that outfit she’s in! The kimono influence is a great touch given her partnership with Ken, but at the same time, it’s so magnificently Moonbeam! Ken looks gorgeous here, you’ve really captured both characters well, and even moreso their partnership.

Most people end up using blonde to brown on Teqatia’s hair because that the way her first reference was drawn, so I’m very, very pleased to see an image that’s gone brown to blonde! It’s really accurate, too. This outfit is great on her, and there’s a great sense of distance and a touch of loneliness. Excellent piece of an oft-overlooked character!
Paradoxic Cure

Looking at Ed and Caleb (a couple that doesn’t get nearly enough attention!) I can only think that “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times” is the way to describe their relationship, and that totally comes across here! Really nice work on the expressions. That aside, Caleb’s jacket looks appropriately cool, Ed’s outfit is totally accurate, and it just made so happy to see a piece with the two of them! Particularly Ed, there can never be enough love for Ed in this universe or any other. <3 I love how wild his hair is!
AIodia

I often feel like Ridley’s extracurriculars don’t get nearly enough attention, so it’s awesome to see something he actually does in his life all the time! Love the chef’s outfit, love the detail in his eyes, love the dynamic use of foreshortening! It’s a really fun Ridley piece that shows Ridley the way he actually is! His hair looks so floofy, too!

Beautiful soft palette, I really like the swirl of the scarf! The background elements are a very nice touch. Using the lines like that made for an effective framing technique. I love the belted bow and voluminous skirt! Her face looks very beautiful and peaceful.
