  • Going along with that... If you are posting with a gift, please make sure that you aren't interrupting RP or whatever plot seems to be going on. When in doubt, PM or IM me. I swear I don't bite.
  • All info found in this journal (or any other journal) is OOC Information to you and your characters unless your characters are involved/have been told about it. Don't assume that just because you've read something about the characters within that your characters will know it. Nothing ticks me off more than people who read something from an OOC standpoint and use it as IC knowledge.
  • Please keep OOC chatter to a minimum if you find some form of it necessary at all. I would much rather prefer OOC inquiries or comments PMed or IMed to me!

  • I have a life outside of Gaia. It may not be much of one, but it does occasionally take up a good bit of my time. Please be patient with me!
  • I really dislike leaving things unfinished, so f I'm the one holding an RP up, poke me about it! Especially if it's in the guild, as I sometimes forget that the guilds exist. ^^;
  • I will do my best to keep an updated log of which Fa'e Deidra has interacted with. If it takes me a while to get to yours, I'm sorry... Sometimes I really hate Photoshop. Sometimes I think it hates me too.
  • Don't ask me for my Fa'e or my Fa'e's children. It's way too early to be thinking about anything like that. I intend to enjoy every moment of Deidra's childhood. <3

"The Morrigan is a goddess of battle, strife, and fertility. Her name translates as either "Great Queen" or "Phantom Queen," and both epithets are entirely appropriate for her. The Morrigan appears as both a single goddess and a trio of goddesses. The other deities who form the trio are Badb (Crow) and Nemain (Frenzy). The Morrigan frequently appears in the ornithological guise of a hooded crow. Ever since the death of myth, many have come up with various ideas about the Morrigan. One is that she was the Triad itself. That is not the truth. The Morrigan made up the Triad with her sisters, Babd and Nemain. Others have made the assumption that because the Triad had the reputation of bringing death and discord wherever they went, they were not human enough to feel love and grief for what they did. Babd and Nemain may not have...but there was something that set the Morrigan apart from them...this is her story.

The sky... For some reason she had always felt somewhat at peace while soaring through the clouds. It was almost as if that was the only place where she was at home. The others of her kind held no fear for her there. They seemed to accept her. Even when she took the time to land and join them in the feast from a fresh carcass they welcomed her.

Not at all like the humans. No, they feared her. They never saw the good things that she did for them. The crow was always a death omen. Never did she mean a happy birth, or that a woman or man would be receiving a night of passionate love. No, the Morrigan brought death. She began to think that she was death...or that death was her...

Silky black feathers beat against the wind as she caught onto a current that swept her higher. As she flew her cares swirled around her, over her wings and beneath her body, lifting her once more to that often unattainable nirvana. Of course, that peace lasted for no more than a fleeting moment as a harsh gust forced her beneath the clouds. A storm was gathering...

She had been flying, just as she was now, thinking on many things that she couldn't find the time to think about while she was in human form. The winds had knocked her from her course, throwing her into a tree in a way that should have shattered her wing. Somehow she had managed to shift into a more attractive form before he found her, battered and bruised. Carefully he carried her to his camp, tending to her wounds and seeing to her every need. Perhaps that was why she had fallen in love with him.

Humans were funny as far as love was concerned. "Falling" was a good way to put it, for it was often painful and frequently left one hurting in ways that they could never fathom to begin with. Of course, females see love differently than males as well. It was so much different for crows. So different that she felt odd thinking about it while in this form.

She had offered her love to CuChulainn and, in doing so, she revealed to him the goddess that she was. He failed to see her for the woman that existed beneath that role, forcing her away for fear of his life should he ever anger her. Foolish man. Rejection was never taken well by any of the Triad...he learned that well. I never would have come for him. I would have offered him immortality if only... If only what? If he had agreed to love her? What do men know of love?

Spurned, she had turned back towards the world of man, throwing herself into her 'work'...hoping to forget the man that she had 'loved'. She sat watch over the wives of soldiers, inspiring them to passions that would have died had it not been for her lust. She had come for lives, young and old...and she had seen fear.

Why did they fear her? She wasn't going to harm them. She only meant to bring them to a better place. Well, for most it was a better place... She didn't understand it. Why did the mortals fear her? Why did they fear death? She had to find out...even if it meant 'living' a 'life' amongst them in order to do so.

She brought her wings in close to her body, swooping down to the ground for a magnificent landing in front of the sister whom she trusted to finish the task with the swiftest strokes. Slender ivory digits formed from ebony pinions as bones elongated into curvy feminine limbs. The Morrigan stood in all of her splendor, fiery hair whipping about as the storm closed in around them.

"You're late." Thunder cracked.

"I know." A flash lit the sky.

"My sister, are you sure that this is what you want?" Tension filled the air.

"Yes, Babd. Do it now." She took the tip of the b*****d sword and pointed it at her heart, letting her eyes focus on those of her sister. The waters began to pour.

With one timely thrust the deed was done and the Morrigan was no more.

Meaning of Name: Deidra means 'sorrowful wanderer'. Mae means 'bitterly wanted'. Both her first and middle name were given to her by her mother, Laylana. Mohan, her Guardian's family name, means 'bewitching one'.

Eye Color: Bi-colored. R: Blue L: Green
Hair Color: Purple with green streaks; currently chin-length.
Skin Tone: Milky white with purple scales alongside her face.
Distinguishing Features: A set of dragonfly wings; a bit darker in color now than they were at birth. She seems to have grown out of the third, smallest pair that she had as a baby.

Likes: Striped leggings. Shiny things. Applesauce. Chasing after birds in the garden, much to Bella's envy.

Dislikes: Loud noises. Easy listening elevator jazz. Green beans and mushed peas.

This box was a gift from Sueng, another Fa'e who I hope Deidra will have the pleasure of meeting some day. Originally containing a silver ring and a celtic knot necklace, it now also holds another necklace, a beautiful bracelet and two lockets, waiting for the day when Deidra's old enough to wear them.

This little bag is the perfect size for a toddler to carry everywhere, and she does! It contains two tiny dragons, a gold coin along with whatever 'treasures' she finds throughout the day. Her favorite feather, another gift from Sueng, can often be found dangling from it. Thank you, Bluu!

Growth Requirements
  • Baby -> Toddler Stage: Complete! 10/12/09

    The toddler quest will be given by the Fa'e HQ account in a post in the Fa'e's journal, and will not be given until the toddler artwork is in-hand so that the growing can happen immediately upon quest completion. This quest is always an item-gathering one, and traditionally other Guardians will assist you in getting what you need. icon_smile.gif

  • Toddler -> Kid Stage: Complete! 5/23/10

    The Fa'e must have been a toddler for 2 months.

    Kid quest may be either chosen by the Guardian or assigned by the Fa'e HQ account, at the Guardian's decision. Kid quests usually involve the Fa'e
    learning about themselves OR discovering their rudimentary powers. It should not put the toddler into an overly dangerous situation, and it should be about the Fa'e, not the various NPCs and Guardians involved.

  • Kid -> Teen Stage: The Fa'e must have been a kid for 3 months.

    The teen quest requirement is a multi-stage RP 'story' done in the Fa'e's diary, that can be done either solo or with the involvement of other Fa'e. This quest must relate to the Fa'e's past life in some way, in which they learn more and perhaps challenge their past.

  • Teen -> Youth Stage: The Fa'e must have been a teen for 4 months.

    The youth quest requirement is also a multi-stage RP 'story' done in the Fa'e's diary, that also relates to the Fa'e's past life and self-discovery. After this quest is over, the Fa'e MUST arrange an RP with Airi, to touch base.

  • Youth -> Adult Stage: Determined by activity.

    The adult quest is a joint quest, meaning that you must write with at least one other person, with their Fa'e (or other character, with GM permission). The focus of this quest should still be the Fa'e, of course, but it should integrate the other players in a substantial way as well, with the assisting characters helping (or hindering!) the Fa'e in exploring the challenge you choose to set before them.

Laylana's little girl seems to be growing strong and happy, a light of true joy in the often too-serious lives of the Fa'e! Darker days for the Fa'e may be ahead, and such cheer as she seems to bring will be a precious commodity then indeed - but my, oh my! Doesn't she have a lot of wants before she grows?

Deidra will need:

One thing that she really dislikes;
Two things that she really loves;
Three things that are pink;
Four things given to her by someone of the opposite gender;
Five items made of silver,
Six items made of gold,
And seven black feathers.

Once all these things have been gathered for her, Deidra will be ready to continue on to the next stage in her life. Good luck, little Queen!
