There are many types of beings in this world. Some of the most feared and admired are demons.
Some are good, some are bad. Some are beautiful, some ugly, some a bit funny looking.
The demons that exist on the tops are the lords and the queens.
But just about every demon can be contracted by any means, you just have to give them what they crave in exchange for something you have. Whether it’s your life or your soul.
The demon Lord Amarante enjoys this, but also has a sometimes unfortunate affinity for anything sweet.
Particularly cakes and pastries, that of which, lured him to find an apprentice cook named Simi. Not only was she a cook, but also a young witch. It was both Amarante’s will and her spell that summoned him to her, and her dishes that brought them to a contract. Things were good, but misfortune struck as they found themselves without much money to live on. It could be said it was the misfortune a demon brought, but to real standards, it was the debt she had inherited from her father.
Amarante couldn’t stand to not eat for so long, that his contractor was looking to be his next meal, but it would be such a waste and would only be one meal. Her strange abilities to create and summon demonic familiars came to mind, perhaps since people kept animals in their home in which others sold them…perhaps they could do something of the sort. He presented this idea to his contractor, “I think it could work….except for one problem…..” He stared at her confused, but then the problem hit him like a ton of bricks; familiars ate humans. She laughed at his expression, he must’ve realized what she was talking about, “But…..then again, don’t weakly familiars also eat sweets?”
“They do….and since they take up more space than human homes…I suppose I can use my alternate world to keep them..” she nodded in approval. They both exchange their ideas for a while, they finally agreed on how they were going to make this sort of thing work. The place they managed to keep from the debts was their old shop, which could easily maintain a portal to his alternate world. “I suppose we’ll need a bit of help too….” Amarante blinked, he gave a sigh, “Like who….?” “I know a few people~” she stood up, skipping her way to the shop, Amarante sat on the bench, he stood up, rushing to follow her, “Wait a moment! Don’t tell me you’re letting your friends help!” “I am~” “But--!!” “You want to eat, don’t you~?”
Amarante gave in, that was true…..but he sorely wished he had asked for her soul instead of her food. But of course, it was much too late for that….either way, this sort of thing might be fun. Even for him.
Simi seemed to enjoy the idea as well.
So, Amarante’s alternate world became one of which people could hold creatures without many complications. Providing a chance to escape from reality.
