Welcome to the 2008 Beta HQ Halloween event! Don't know about the Beta HQ and it's crazy regulars? Click the banner in the previous post to go to the shop!

This event will consist of four event types (raffle, candy grams, auctions, and flatsale) and has both prizes you can win and stuff you can buy. There may be some additional special stuff as well!

Raffle: This year we have a SE raffle, with lunars and nitemares up for grabs in addition to a fully breedable new SE! The more tickets bought, the more prizes available. Further information can be found in the fourth post. The Raffle will start Monday Oct. 13 and will take place in this thread.

Candy Grams: Another Halloween first, CANDY GRAMS! Gnatty will be your lovely gram vendor this year with semi-custom, custom, and random grams for your buying pleasure! Further information can be found in the fifth post. Candy Grams will start going on sale Monday Oct. 13 and will take place in this thread. ** Please keep an eye on the Candy Gram post for official status! **

Auctions: Triple auction, with a lovely trio of witches to put a spell on you! Further information can be found in the sixth post. The Auctions will begin Monday Oct. 20 and will take place in this thread.

Flatsale: Our traditional set of costumed betas with a twist: they're already evolved and fully decked out! Further information can be found in the seventh post. The Flatsale will be held on Monday Oct. 27 at 8 PM CST and will take place in this thread.


What about the Gaia Event?
Given past Halloweens, Gaia's event has been run in forums pretty much dedicated to spamming to play. Even if we are given forums designed for discussion this year, the event will remain in this thread. We will provide links to an official Beta HQ thread though, so you can hang out with us and spam/discuss while earning items!


General Rules
- DO NOT steal the art.
- DO NOT flood the thread with bumps. Occasional bumps are fine, but floods are not.
- DO NOT edit your posts if they contain auction bids or flatsale claims. Make a new one.
- DO NOT attempt to use mules to bypass prize limits on certain events.
- DO NOT beg for prizes, betas, items, gold, etc.
- DO NOT attempt to discourage people from participating in events. This includes guilt tripping, discussing funds or lack of funds, whining, harassment, flaming, etc.
- Co-owning prize betas is allowed, but please keep the discussions in PMs and IMs.
- DO save your adult/evolved certs once they are delivered. We will not host them indefinitely.
- DO play nice and respect each other.
- Shop Staff (Lt. Gnatty-Bug, ArynLight, RavenFyre, Kishara, Novacracker, Djnn, and Amirynth) word is law. OBEY THEM.
- Shop rules apply to the event and vice versa.
- Please READ ALL of the event front page. If it's "OMG TOO LONG," do it in small doses.
- Breaking or repeatedly pushing the rules will result in you being banned from this event and greylisted in the shop.
- All times currently listed are in Central Standard Time. Feel free to use the clock labeled "Central" here to keep track.


Prize Notes
- Raffle: One prize per winner, unless prizes outnumber participants. Lunars and Nitemares will be certed as adults; Elvira will start as an egg and grow through all stages to evolve. All prizes are breedable and will pass traits.
- Candy Grams: You may only buy up to 3 semicustoms for yourself, but unlimited customs/semicustoms/randoms for others. You may only place ONE order for ONE beta at a time. Grams will be certed as adults.
- Auctions: The Sanderson Sisters will start as eggs and grow through all stages to evolve. All prizes are breedable and will pass traits.
- Flatsale: One prize per winner. Betas will be certed as costumed evolves. All prizes are regulars and will not pass edits.

And yes, Elvira and the Sanderson Sisters will be shaded. Aryn just hasn't gotten that far yet.

She's a sharp witted valley girl, who can be satirical about the B and C horror movies she hosts without being mean-spirited and has no problem making jokes about her eyepopping cleavage. - 1 beta per winner unless prizes exceed participants; winners will choose prizes in order determined by the drawing.

Tickets and Additional Prizes
- Every 250 tickets sold up to 2500 total, 1 lunar or nitemare beta will be added to the prize pot. (10 betas) REACHED
- Every 500 tickets sold after 2500 and up to 7500 10,000 total, 1 lunar or nitemare beta will be added to the prize pot. (10 betas) EXTENDED!
- Every 1000 tickets sold after 7500 10,000 total, 1 lunar or nitemare beta will be added to the prize pot.
- Any unused betas will be flatsold after the event closes and prizes are delivered.

Welcome to the Halloween Auction! 300 years ago (or rather, 315, since Hocus Pocus was released in 1993), three witches were caught sucking the life out of a young girl in Salem. Before they were hung, the eldest cast a spell that would revive them when a virgin lit the Black Flame candle on All Hollow's Eve. Three centuries later, a stupid virgin (we luv you Max!) does exactly that while trying to show off to a pretty girl he likes and his bratty younger sister. Entertaining hijinks ensue as the Sanderson Sisters try to suck the lives of Salem's children and the brave kids and cat fight back!

From left to right, let's meet our witches (who will, by the way, start as eggs and grow through all stages)!

Mary's main power is sniffing out children and has a tendency to bark when excited. She's Winifred's voice of reason and has to calm her down when she gets over dramatic, and tries her best to stay in Winifred's favor. While none of the witches are the sharpest crayons in the box in the face of the modern world, Mary falls in the middle, not being a ditsy as Sarah but not as clever as Winifred.

Winifred, often called Winnie, is the main spellcaster and the cleverest of the trio, owning a book bound in human skin reportedly given to her by the devil himself. She's loud, melodramatic, and VERY sensitive about being called "ugly." While she tends to cling on Mary when dramatically distraught, she has a tendency to be humorously abusive to Sarah when Sarah's being more batty than usual.

Sarah is the stereotypical beautiful, boy crazy, dumb blonde. She bounces, flounces, dances and sings about the most inane things. She even once stole Winifred's lover... which caused Winnie to poison him and sew his mouth shut since she seemed to be more concerned about him spreading her secrets than his infidelity. Sarah's main power is a siren song to lure children into their grasp.

Auction Rules & Info
- Co-Owning is allowed, but keep the discussions in PMs and IMs.
- Do NOT discourage others from participating by discussing funds, lack of funds, flaming, harassment, whining, guilt tripping, etc.
- Do NOT retract or edit bids after they've been quoted. Your lower bid will be left to stand.
- Please post your bids in the appropriate color listed above.
- Please total your own bids and only bid what you have.
- Auction begins and ends by the Gaia clock. Any early or late bids will be ignored.
- Payment is to be sent within 24 hours after the auction ends unless Aryn specifically gives you permission to hold off.
- Payment is to be sent to ArynLight, as specified in the Even Trades Post.

Snipe Guard
- You must show interest (bid) 24 hours before the original ending time to be eligible to bid within the last 24 hours.
- The final bid must stand for 12 hours. If new bids are placed within those last 12 hours, the auction will be extended by 12 hours.
- If auction continues through November 5, the snipe guard will be reduced to 6 hours.
