First order of business: A huge thank you to our new staff for a wonderful last two months. The Secret Santa event was awesome, the freebies have been very thoughtful, and the customs have been fun. Everyone, thank the colorists if/when you see them lurking about. They’ve all been putting in a lot of effort.

Secondly: On Feb.20 we’re going to be opening our Poke’Dog event! See the “Availability” section for a link to the event itself. None of the events are open just yet, but we have a lot of the poke’dogs up for eye candy. With the opening of the mule comes the introduction of the SoO Event Ninja. Keep an eye out for him! He’ll be the bringer of multi-staff events from here on out. And you never know when he’ll pop up. ninja

Thirdly: I’ve added a cosplay registry in the thread. Go here to register your cosplay dogs. Now, be sure to read over the info! This is -not- a place for you to claim a cosplay. This is a place for you to register the co splays that you already own. The poke’mon, for instance, will count as cosplays.

First up, I want to thank everyone that participated in the belated birthday event! It wasn’t our most busy event, but we have some new people joining our crew. Hopefully we’ll have a big event ready for the upcoming holiday season.

Secondly, We’re Hiring!. We need at least three colorists for customs and events, at least two breeders, and one line artist. The hiring thread will be open until we’ve filled our quota on staff members.

I want to apologize for how slow things have been. Between work, trying to get back into school, and rl situations that have come up, I’ve not been overly active. I think the additional colorists will help the shop dramatically. We’ll also be needing a pedigree manager- this would be someone that would oversee pedigree approval and dog shows. Those we’ll simply be accepting pm applications for. If you would like the position, pm Gohei Takeda.

First of all, thanks to everyone that participated in the mutt event. I've opened up a forum for the industrial pack. There's no set leader just yet, that's up to the players of the pack to decide through rp. :3 When a leader's been announced, the player will be in charge of the pack info and maintaining it pack itself. I'll work on a cert background as soon as everything's been established.

Secondly- I managed to recover all but one template- the Juvie English Setter. So I'll be re-doing that stage. XD; Sorry all. However, with much of the templates recovered, I can open customs.

Tomorrow at noon, Thalion's Colorist Choice open. Please read over everything, I've written up some rules/info for this opening. :3 For now, Kai Ken dogs are restricted, there'll be a chance to get one tomorrow. >3

I'm still working on finishing the lineart and re-vamping the thread/guild. Thank you for bearing with me guys!

Well the good news is that I'm back home! Which means less stress, less rl drama, and more time to get things back in shape. There was a minor delay due to a faulty USB drive (Which held all my ohu templates), but we're getting back on track. I do apologize for the delay in growths, I've gotten a good chunk of them taken care of. There are still a few who have yet to grow because I've yet to template the next stage. Hopefully, I'll have that all taken care of within a month. I'll be changing a few things, so stay posted!

Also, I'm so sorry the wait was so long- but our mutt event is finally open!

Long update!

Happy New Year everyone! First of all, I’m very sorry for how slow things have been. There were a few unexpected financial burdens that came with the new year (like literally the day of, I won’t go into it here XD). In order to keep my head above water (so to speak) I’ve had to taken on several RL commissions to help keep the rent and bills paid as well as help handle the financial roadblocks. Dusty and I have both been hit with a lot of unexpected problems irl that’ve slowed up things for us on gaia. We appreciate your patience and understanding everyone!

So I’ve hired some hands to help out.

Everyone please welcome honey.roasted.ferrets to our team of artists, Cihiru who’ll be a guest colorist in the upcoming event, and Reeshie Hack who will handle the certs and updating the owner’s list in the guild. I’m very appreciative of everyone who’s offered to help. We’re asking that you show your full respect and support to the new members of the staff.

A lot of the growths are over-due, especially the breeds who’s sets have yet to be completed. I just finished the English Setters, so we have two growths up in my growth thread. I’ll be working on growths between commissions and rl work, so again- please be patient. I’ve decided that until I finish all the present sets and complete a mutt set for large, medium, and small dogs that there will only be adult dogs available through customs, events, and free give-aways. Breedings are still closed.

I’ll be getting to guild updates as soon as I can (Which includes going through pack applications).

Since we didn’t have a new year’s event or…any event for the last few holidays, I’m arranging a mutt event! Our new colorists will both be contributing. We’re hoping that it’ll be another large-scale event so keep your eyes open. I’ll throw the previews up in the event section as they’re complete. As of right now, we’ve no set date for the event. I’ll announce it a few days before it opens.

If there’s any concerns or questions, please PM the mule and we’ll address them as we can. Thank you again for your understanding and patience!

The opening event was amazing. Thank you everyone who participated! The next big event will be a halloween cosplay event. However- we need suggestions! We've opened up a suggestion thread in the guild, we want to know what cosplays everyone wants to see in the event. Some ideas we've thrown around are Okami cosplays, disney, or popular anime cosplays.

Customs WILL NOT OPEN until all of the current sketches are complete templates. You can see my progress on page 2. We -may- accept the occasional bribe for existing dog breeds. We'll have info up in the guild on this later.

Likewise, breeding is not open and will not be until the present sets are complete and we have a mutt template.

And now the Ohu Pack has info, a pack listing (that's in progress), and joining info.

Lots of updates for today!

First of all, the opening event has been a huge success! I plan on running one more auction and one more speed flatsale before its conclusion. After that, the next big event will be a Halloween Cosplay event. We’ve opened up a suggestion thread so I’d love ideas for games, cosplay ideas, etc. from you all!

I’ve seen a lot of people wondering when customs will be opening up. They will not open until all the current breeds are on complete templates. You can always see my progress on page 2. All completed templates will be displayed in the breed directory.

Which brings me to the in-guild updates!

arrow We now have two community threads in the main section of the guild. The Open Questions thread, and the Suggestion Box. Any questions regarding the shop in general, our policies, our rules, or anything else you can think of should be posted in there. It’s very easy to miss questions posted in the thread. The suggestion box is just what it sounds like. Feel free to suggest anything you feel will help improve the shop.

arrow We now have a Pack Request and Info thread for those of you interested in forming your own pack. Be sure to read over everything before submitting a request! The system, rules, and guidelines are always open for change. Since we’re just starting out, I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible.

arrow We also have information about Pedigree Dogs as well as a Pedigree Registration thread for those of you interested in Pedigree dogs. There will be events surrounding pedigree dogs in the future.

arrow For those of you interested in seeing the lineart for each of the breeds, you can now see those that have been completed in the Breed Directory & Growth Chart thread. This shows you the available breeds (which will be useful when customs roll around), the artwork through each of their life stages, and the variations within the breeds. It will be done alphabetically for convenience. I’ll be updating these as often as I can.

arrow For those that missed the announcement before, we now have an Owner’s List. Here you can see a listing of all the existing dogs as they’re certed, see which ones are on their own unique lineart, and keep track of the colorist of each of the dogs. I’ve got it updated up to my last completed batch of certs, so most of the dogs from the opening event aren’t on there yet.

And just for those tracking our progress getting through our work list, the following templates have been completed today:
- Dachshund Puppy
- German Shepherd Juvie
- German Shepherd Puppy
- Great Dane Juvie
- Saluki Puppy
- Standard Poodle Puppy
- English Setter Puppy

That leaves us with only 13 more templates before we can start adding new breeds!

We're burning through the to-do list! So since we got most of the original templates all ready, we've opened up the shop officially. See the availability post for a link to the grand opening event. We'll also be holding random give-aways both here in the main thread and in the event thread to keep sharp! We also have our guild open to the public. Just drop a joining request and you're good as in.

Our Guild's uses are:
- Cert requests are done in the guild now.
- Cert drop-offs are also in the guild.
- We have an owner's list in the guild.
- You can RP in there! Be sure to keep them to the appropreate sub forums.
- You can keep a journal for your dogs in the journal subforum.
- Quests are also kept in the guild. We -may- open up a quest pot to which owners can donate to helping a newbie get a quest dog! These will be very rare but it's something I'd like to try.
- The growths will be dropped off in the guild. Each colorist will have their own thread in the growths subforum so keep an eye on those. We're also going to have a growth tracker to keep us organized and you informed when your dogs are due to grow.

We're still working hard to get the shop ready to open up. So far we have four complete breed sets, one environment cert, and a few new breeds added to our work load. The guild is nearly ready to be opened up to the public. We'll be creating at least two more cert 'environments'. One for stray dogs, and one for pet/pedigree dogs.

The front page is mostly complete, we have a cert established (these you can see on page 2 in the cert pickup), and we're currently working on the guild. So far we have two breed sets complete from pup stage to adult. As soon as we get at least five breed sets complete, we'll hold a grand opening event. This will include flatsales, raffles, auctions, and perhaps some freebie events. Also, we’re accepting affiliates. Just PM the mule with a link to the shop and a banner and we’ll add you. Be sure to add us as well!

Also, keep in mind that as the shop progresses we will be adding more breeds than the ones we’ve listed in the breed directory. We just included a basic variety of popular breeds and breeds seen in the anime to start us up with.

We're just setting up the Soldiers of Ohu shop to serve as both the bare skeleton of the shop to come and as an interest thread while we prepare the guild, the templates, the banners, and the cert. As soon as at least five breeds are complete from pup to adult and we have an established cert- we'll hold our opening event! Everything, most especially the banners, are still going through revisions, re-vaping, and reviewing by the staff, but feel free to chat once all the staff posts are claimed.

| 1 | Do NOT use, alter, copy, trace, 'heavily reference', or otherwise tamper with the artwork. This is an offense that can not only get you instantly blacklisted from the shop, but reported to the gaia admins as well.

| 2 | Follow the Gaiaonline Terms of Service.

| 3 | No begging for a pet! Everyone will have a chance to receive a dog in time. If you frequent the thread, keep an eye on our events, and keep an overall good attitude you'll eventually get one.

| 4 | Leave the drama at the door. We don't need anyone bickering for any reason. Religion, politics, controversial topics, the whole nine yards are best left to the pages of the chatterbox. We want to keep this as friendly of an environment as possible. If you don't like someone be the bigger person and ignore them. Anyone seen stirring up trouble, intimidating newbies, or otherwise causing tension will be warned. If the behavior continues- they'll be added to the gray list.

| 5 | Save everything to your own server! We can't stress this enough! Things happen. Hard drives fail, computers crash, memory is lost, etc. If you fail to save your own certs and images, we can't be held responsible if you loose them.

| 6 | Roleplay is not required, but it is heavily encouraged. You cannot breed your dog if you don't role play, you cannot maintain a pack if you don't role play, etc.

Q: What is this shop based off of?
A: The Animes Ginga Densetsu Weed and Ginga Nagareboshi Gin.

Q: Do I have to have seen the anime/read the manga to role play?
A: Nope! Just read over the story and you should be fine. If you have any questions feel free to ask in-thread. Owner and thread-goers should be able to help you out.

Q: Are we allowed to play humans?
A: It's encouraged actually! Just keep in mind that they're normal, average, everyday humans. No gaia characters, no super heros, no mutants, no elves, demons, etc. Just humans. Keep in mind also that there will be benefits to owned dogs that wild and stray dogs will not have access to!

Q: Can we co-own?
A: At this time, no.

Q: Is there a limit on how many dogs you can have?
A: Nope.

Q: Are cosplays available?
A: To an extent. We'll allow the colors and occasionally 'hair' edits. We won't be doing any weapons or clothing however. No dog wants to wear pants or have full plate armor on.

Q: Are dogs the only species in this shop?
A: There will be familiars such as cats, crows, etc. eventually, but for the most part, yes.

Q: Can we have genetically altered dogs!?
A: For now- no. They will be obtained through special events.

Q: Can I play a homosexual/bisexual dog/familar?
A: No. This is a new rule that will apply to -all- shops run by Thalion or featuring her artwork. If you absolutely must play a character of this lifestyle choice- there are hundreds of other shops on gaia.

Q: Will the dogs have special abilities like in the show?
A: To prevent god-moding- no.

Q: I don't want my dog anymore. Can I sell it?
A: No! If you have a dog you want to give away, you can surrender it to the pound and the staff will re-home it for free. Also if there's extra pups you'd like to give away feel free to run a -free- rp contest. Let the staff now and we'll put up a link on the second page.

... Do NOT play in netspeak. It really doesn't take much effort to type out words like "Two", "You", etc.
... Do NOT godmode. This includes assuming actions of someone else's characters, making your character invincible, allowing out-of-character knowledge to become in-character knowledge, etc. In other words, use common sense.
... Again, the dogs have no special abilities. They cannot use spinning, glowing fang blades of death, they can't spring between trees like ninjas, they can't magically see into the minds of others.
... Character death happens! But you must have permission from the owner before their pet is killed off. Likewise, don't put your character into a dangerous in-game situation and assume they'll get away without a scratch.
... The setting is modern earth. This means no hover cars, no aliens, no advanced technology. Modern means modern.
... You may play in other countries- just be reasonable about it. This means if you're playing a dog that's in the United States, you cannot have your dog interact with a dog in Japan.
... Try not to make every owner an abusive one. Drama's fine in reasonable ammounts.
... Keep everything pg13. This means no overly-detailed gore, no sex scenes, no detailed drug use scenes, etc.
... Dogs are able to speak with other animals like cats, crows, etc. However, there is no way -ever- that a dog and a human (or any other animal and a human) can communicate.
... You cannot play a dog or familar that you don't own. This means that if you don't have the art for the dog/familar, you can't play it.

“Inside the mountains of Ohu, in a place called Futago pass, there’s a dog’s paradise. Here long ago, a huge battle was fought against a huge demon bear. The bear who had claimed the area: Akakabuto. He’d created a stronghold called Gajou. But there were ones that would fight against Akakabuto. One hunter led the attack. Gin, a Tora-Ge* Akita, and 750 had gathered from all over the country to fight. After many days, the unspeakable battle was to come to an end. Gin let loose the Battouga*, the attack of a wolf. Akakabuto was defeated. The victory had been thanks to Gin’s group of dogs. They’d finally won back Futago pass after entry to the mountains had been prohibited by the humans.

This was the Silver Fang Legend. The dogs and their leader, Gin, lived in peace for the next 14 years.”

After fourteen years of peace, Ohu once more came under attack by yet another demon crafted by human hands. This one- Kaibutsu -was a genetically altered dog with a hide harder than steel that rose to stand higher than any known breed of dog. Fueled by his rage for humans, Kaibutsu invaded Ohu while Gin and his commanding officers had vanished and claimed the territory for himself. The warriors who once protected Ohu rose up to re-claim their paradise, only to fall under human fire. Kaibutsu had begun slaughtering any human that passed the Futago pass, the humans soon believed it to be the fault of deranged wild dogs. Scattered, the warriors of Ohu sought desperately for their leader, Gin.

It was Gin’s young son, Weed, and a handful of dogs that managed to bring down Kaibutsu and re-claim Gajou.

While Weed reclaimed Gajou, Gin along with his commanders- John and Akame -traversed the country to settle violent packs of wild dogs that had begun to spread. During their investigation of a pack led by a dog named Nero, the trio encountered Hougen’s gang. Hougen, a great dane from the alps, managed to capture the Ohu leader and gain the fear and respect of even more dogs. Hougen’s numbers began to grow into the hundreds as he turned his gaze towards Ohu.

Word of Gin’s capture and Hougen’s ambitions soon reached Ohu. Weed and a handful of his warriors set out from Ohu, leaving Gajou in the hands of a few of his dogs, to gather more forces to rescue his father. During his journey, Weed managed to gather a few hundred dogs, forging alliances with old companions and offspring of old companions of the original warriors who fought to defeat the demon bear.

Gin and Akame were eventually rescued. Unfortunately, John lost his life serving as a diversion to Hougan’s forces. Weed soon confronted Hougan at Gajou. His small army of dogs, outnumbered nearly three to one, managed to overwhelm Hougan’s forces. Using his father’s technique- Weed slew Hougan and re-claimed Ohu.

After his battle, Weed was named the leader of Ohu. Gin, along with a handful of his companions, continued to travel the country to maintain the peace.

“Ginga Vocabulary”

- Tora-Ge is a rare coloring in Akitas, literally meaning “Tiger Striped”
- Battouga is a technique passed down through Gin’s family line.

| Strays, Wild Dogs, Pets, and Pedigrees |

Stray dogs are dogs who have been abandoned or have run away from their previous human owners. Strays live within the cities, often times leading short, hard lives feeding out of garbage cans, being driven off property, and fighting for survival. Strays will often form packs in order to increase their chances of survival. Puppies born on the streets have the highest mortality rate of any dogs. Strays can range from mutts to abandoned pure-bred dogs. Once a dog has become a stray, however, they will loose their pedigree forever, even if they're adopted by another family.
Extra Info:
- Stray females can breed an unlimited number of times.
- Stray litters range from 1-2 puppies because of a high mortality rate.
- Strays can be customed with minor fur edits, scars, or even missing limbs.

| Wild Dogs |
Wild dogs are former pets and strays that have left the city for the wilderness. They've adapted to the wild once more, learning to hunt and find shelter on their own. Humans see them as feral and dangerous, many are shot on sight or trapped to be taken to animal shelters. The wild dogs will often form packs under a powerful leader and establish a territory for themselves. Ohu being the largest and most powerful of the territories. Relations between packs can be neutral, hostile, or friendly- depending on the leader.

- Wild litters range from 1-4 puppies because of an average mortality rate.
- Wild dogs can be customed with minor fur edits, scars, or even missing limbs.

| Pet Dogs |
Mutts and purebreds alike make wonderful pets. Whether they're simply a warm body at the end of the bed at night or a working dog, pets have it made. They live comfortable lives, raise their families in safety, and never have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Sometimes, however, the family will see fit to spaying/neutering their pets. Sometimes the owners become neglectful or abusive- or the dog simply grows bored with their life and takes to the wild or the streets.
Extra Info:
- Pet females can breed up to 4 times. After that we assume they've been spayed.
- Pet males can breed an unlimited number of times.
- Pet litters range from 1-6 puppies because of a lower mortality rate.
- Pet dogs can be customed with minor fur edits, collars, harnesses, and minor jewlery. (No t-shirts, pants, etc.)

| Pedigree Dogs |
The purest of the pure, the best of the best! These are the pampered show dogs. They eat the best food, they're kept in prime condition, and their offspring are sold off for hundreds. Pedigrees are simply not made for a life on the street or in the wild, they've had everything given to them on a silver platter. However, of all the dogs they have the highest litter quantities, the purest offspring, and have the longest lives.
Extra Info:
- Pedigree females can breed up to 3 times. After that, they're put into retirement.
- Pedigree studs can breed an unlimited number of times.
- Pedigree litters range from 1-8 puppies because of expert breeding.
- Pedigree dogs can be customed with minor fur edits (poodles especially) though 'wild' fur is not encouraged, jewlery, and collars.

Non-dog characters will also be available within the shop. These range from familiars to wild animals. Dogs are able to speak with any other animal aside from humans, so feel free to play them interacting!

Wild Animals:
Wild animals will very likely have 3 stages just like the dogs. Wild animals also compete with the wild dogs and will very likely not be on friendly terms with the dogs.

Familiars:
Familiars are animals that can grow friendly with the dogs. They may even become close companions.

| Breeding |


Basic rules of breeding:

- The breeding fee is 5k per default pup born to the parents. The owners can decide how to divide the payment. However, payment must be received shortly after the offspring are rolled. Payment must be sent to the breeder of your choice.
- Only a male and a female dog can mate and produce offspring. Again, we’re trying to keep somewhat realistic.
- The offspring will be born 1-2 weeks after we’ve rolled for them. Until then, it’s safe to role play the female as being pregnant.
- Your dog’s lifestyle will influence the number of possible offspring.
- Only adult dogs may breed.
- Cross-breeding is possible to an extent! Large dogs and medium dogs are compatible, as are small dogs to medium dogs. Small to large however will produce no offspring.
- We will allow open breedings. This means you don’t have to keep trying for a breeding via raffles or wait for a certain time of the month. So long as the colorists have the time, the breedings will remain open.
- We will require 5 -completed- rp’s before a couple can mate. This means -both- the mother and father need at least 5 completed rp’s. At least one has to involve -both- parents meeting one another. We do ask that you keep all rp’s pg13.
- If you’ve managed to complete more than 10 rp’s (both parents), you have the option of having one free pup added to the litter or having us roll between 1-2 extra offspring.
- In the event of a small litter, you may ask the colorist to roll for how many pups did not survive the birthing. This option is strictly for rp purposes.
- The lifestyles of the parents will effect the number of offspring.
- For every dog you own, you may keep one puppy per litter up to three litters. This means if you breed the same dog three times, and took one puppy from each of the three litters, any litters following you must give away -all- the puppies. This goes for both males and females. It may be an option later on to custom into a litter.
- Again, you are not allowed to sell the extra offspring. You may give them away or run -free- contests for them.

Special Rules of Breeding:

- Pedigree-kept dogs, when bred with other pedigree-kept dogs of the -same species- will produce up to 8 offspring default. With the extra rp bonus this is a potential for 10 total puppies!
- Pet dogs will produce up to 6 offspring default. If a pedigree-kept dog breeds with a dog of any other species, they will fall into this category. Again, with the extra rp bonus you have the potential for 8 total puppies.
- Wild dogs will produce up to 4 offspring default. With the extra rp bonus, you have the potential for 6 total puppies.
- Stray dogs will produce up to 2 offspring default. With the extra rp bonus, you have the potential for 4 total puppies.
- If a pedigree-kept dog breeds with a dog of any other species- it automatically looses its pedigree.
- If a stray dog mates with a pet dog, we will roll for the stray. Yes, even if the pet is the mother.
- Pedigree-kept females may only breed up to 3 times.
- Pet-kept females may only breed up to 4 times.
- Wild and stray females have unlimited breeding.
- Males can breed however often they like.
