1. Follow Gaia's TOS and the forum rules. Just to be sure you listen, I'll be repeating a few of them.
2. No submitting work that is not your own or work that you've already done for me.
3. You may enter as many different pieces as you want.
4. Don't come in here and put down people's art or act all high and mighty. Don't go to the other extreme and constantly put yourself down, either. Both ends of the scale are extremely annoying and will only succeed in pissing everyone off.
5. All submissions must be posted in the thread using the entry form unless stated otherwise.
6. I will never claim your art as my own.
7. Don't quote any of the posts on the front page.
8. Be a nice person in general. Any jackasses (trolls, art thieves, prejudicial bastards, those who break rule #4, etc.) in this thread will be disqualified, banned from the thread, and I'm keeping any art they've already entered (if it's legitimate). Obviously I'm never going to claim it as my own, but I have the right to use it as I would any other entry.
9. If you really want to advertise your thread, ask to be affiliates, don't just post an advertisement in here. Bad form, folks. confused
10. I reserve the right to alter certain areas of my contest within reason. This includes--though all highly unlikely--canceling with compensation to all entrants, combining no more than three categories lacking in entries by the end of the contest, and extending the end date no longer than one month past the original date.
11. I reserve the right to change and/or add to these rules at any time.




Q: Can my entry apply for more than one category?
A: Of course! However, be aware that each submission is limited to one prize. There is no limit to how many times a single artist can win, though.

Q: Is there a limit to how many entries I can submit?
A: Nope! I'm a horrible little art whore and, as such, I love it when artists enter multiple pieces. <3

Q: Does my submission have to be colored/fullbody?
A: Nope, I appreciate everything from sketched headshots to fully colored scenes. ^_^

Q: Can I draw different outfits/take artistic liberty with the characters?
A: Go for it! wink Just to be clear, though, it still has to be obvious it's one of my characters. You can't take so much liberty that no one can tell who they were in the first place. That's just...crazyness. >_o

Q: What are the "Extras" for?
A: The "Extras" are simply there in case you feel like adding one of these minor characters to your entry. For instance, if you wanted to add someone getting beat up into your action shot or if you were to do a story scene that involved one of the minor characters. Additionally, if there's a minor character you want to draw, but he or she is not in the "Extras" section, feel free to ask me to tektek/draw (horribly) the character for you. ^_^

Q: Who's the judge?
A: I, alone, am the judge. These are, after all, my characters and who knows them better than me? Of course, my RL friend knows quite a bit about them as well (not to mention the fact that she herself is an artist ninja ) and, if I fear I may make some biased decisions, I'll call upon her and/or my picky little sister, [.gasp.], to help me in my judging.

Q: Do you accept gifs/moving pictures?
A: Of course. The more variety the better. ^_^ However, animated avatars (and edits for that matter)--that is, unless they're absolutely, positively, pants-wettingly spectacular--are out. These characters have Gaian avatars already and, unless you want to make Vera's avi perform some battle moves or make Incubus transform into his scary monster form, it just seems kind of silly to accept those kinds of things.

Q: Do you accept dolls?
A: Eh, I'm not a big fan of dolls. I mean, you can totally enter some it's just...very unlikely to win anything.

Q: What are you going to do with my art?
A: I'll be displaying them in my art collection, which will most likely just be limited to a simple photobucket account. I might use them in custom profiles for my mules and that ilk as well, but in any and all cases you will always be credited for your artwork.

Q: Do I have to read the story?
A: Not unless you feel like it. At first, I was going to make it required for entrants to read it but then...eh, that seemed kind of excessive and just overall a bad idea. So instead I designed it so that reading the story is entirely unnecessary. Feel free to do so, but do keep in mind that I use my first drafts to explore and experiment with the plot, characters, and other such things, so don't expect it to be very polished.

Q: My question isn't here, how do I get it answered?
A: Just post it in the thread or PM me and I'll get to answering it as soon as possible. 3nodding

I don't care if it's love, friendship, or hate, this prize will go to the piece that best illustrates two of the characters together.

Love Scene – 160k
The piece that best brings out the warm fuzzies in us all. x3 Fyi, this isn't limited to couple shots nor is it limited to sensual love. Familial love and the love between friends works just as well. ^^

Action Scene – 160k
Whether multiple characters or just one, this category applies to the piece that best and most beautifully depicts some kind of action taking place. In case you were wondering, yes, this mostly applies to fighting scenes, but feel free to be creative and come up with something else.

King – 110k
The piece that best captures King in overall appearance, mood, and character.

Vera – 110k
The piece that best captures Vera in overall appearance, mood, and character.

Lesser Main Character – 90k
This prize shall be awarded to the piece that best illustrates one or more of the following characters: Rafe, Zandy, and/or Sierra.

Parental Unit - 90k
Goodness I love that term. : D This category applies to one or more of the following characters: Kindred, Jaren, Exodus, and/or Incubus.

Villain – 90k
This will go to the piece that best depicts one or more of the main villains, which include: Egan, A'Marie, and/or Gavin.

Secondary Character - 80k
The secondary good guys, to be more exact...erm, aside from, y'know, the other secondary good guys. *cough* So anyway, this category is for pictures depicting: Zsa Zsa, Hazel, Nita, and/or Rosalind.

Secondary Villain - 80k
Yes, this category applies to those two lovely little ladies: Rachelle and/or Victoria. Because I love them enough to tack on another category down here. Why? Dunno. I have a strange liking for villains, I guess.

Sexiest – 80k
Quite obviously this prize will go to the most sexually explicit appealing entry. ^^ Please remember that leaving some things to the imagination is often the best way to execute such a piece. This is especially important since we want to follow Gaia's TOS. ;D

Cutest/Funniest – 80k
For either the most adorable piece or the most humorous...or both. It's hard to differentiate between the two sometimes. xD

Most Original – 80k
For the piece that displays the most creativity and originality in style, theme, setting, mood, character design, etc.

Best OOC – 80k
This will go to the piece that most amusingly shows one or more of the characters out of character. This includes cosplays (e.g. Howl's Moving Castle, Wicked, Corpse Bride, etc.), what-if situations (RosalindxRafe, IncubusxKing, ExodusxKing (Homgincest! :O), young King and Vera, etc.), and other such silliness. Out of ideas? Ask!

Most Dedicated – 10k
Simply because I can't resist and feel I must now always have this category, this prize shall be awarded to the person who enters the most pieces.

Excess Funds: 522k
This is more to help me keep track than anything else, but these funds will be used for honorable mentions, runner-up prizes, or whatever else I can think of come the end of the contest.

-Mundanity is wondrous and joyful. That's why it's first on the list. ^_^ E.g. doing the dishes, working on homework, reading the newspaper while drinking coffee or eating breakfast, all curled up reading a book, falling asleep on the couch, etc. All these things, might I add, are far more glorious in couples or groups.
-Boy love! mrgreen Well, okay, technically Exodus and Incubus aren't boys, but they're still relatively young as far as devils and succubae go. And obviously King, Rafe, and Gavin still constitute as boys. >;3
-Incubus taking rather unfair advantage of King. OOC? Yes, but still funtimes. xD
-Expressive faces. I LOOOOOVE expressive faces.
-Taekwando and Tae Jitsu moves always make for good action shots. ;D
-Kidified characters. Especially when they're being all cuddly and adorable with Exodus or Jaren or somesuch. x3
-OOC ideas: tuxes and tophats (why? no clue!), harem girls and boys >:3, etc.
-Cosplay ideas: Howl's Moving Castle, Corpse Bride, and Wicked. All had some hand in influencing the growth of the early storyline.
-Ponder this for a moment will you? King is dressed like a pimp. He always has a little flock of girls following him around. Hmmm... cool
-Rival pics are loved greatly. E.g., King vs. A'Marie, Rafe vs. Rachelle and Victoria, Vera vs. Gavin, Egan vs. Kindred or Exodus, or just the all out "Cobras" vs. Sting
-Villains live normal lives, too, y'know. Just because they're bent on destroying the CDA doesn't mean A'Marie, Gavin, Victoria, and Rachelle can't go out for ice cream or somesuch once in a while.
