#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
I've seen such a theme before, but not in this clean manner, as the world should be. smile

It is fresh, new, and impressive.

The image hovers when you hover over certain words in the global warming message. They're quite fun! n_n

Yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
No, none.

N/A

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The hovers. All of them.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
For the hover for 'save the world', I would have had that link to the site it described as well.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 9.5/10

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Global warming definitely heats up my day (literally) so this powerful reminder fits well.

# Could have made a link for that image hover to the site 'stopglobalwarming.org' that it described

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
On first glance I would have to say that this profile theme is definitely original.

#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The layout of the sections look like a typical profile but, the way it is all implemented is just beautiful.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The "bar" type links are easily accessible and even easier to find.

#4--Is the text easy to read?
The gaia header text seems a bit small but, everything else is of ample size and perfectly legible.

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
I'm not too sure whether the content in this profile counts as "information" about the user but, taking the "theme" into mind, I would say that yes the profile does contain information about the user. I just wish there was more. =)

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
If anything, this profile is genuine. I haven't seen a "eco-friendly" profile before and I love the way this one is made. It is just remarkable.

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
I especially love the "hovers" used in this profile. It gives it a sense of "interactivity".

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Everything used in the profile seems to match the main theme flawlessly.

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
I really couldn't find anything that clashed with the "flow" of the profile.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I've only found a few redundant lines of code and a couple of very minor errors.
This line of code
Code
overflow: auto; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: auto;

should only either use the "overflow" property or the "overflow-x" and "overflow-y" properties. I don't see any reason to specify all three and in my experience, it only serves to confuse I.E which takes the "overflow" property as predominant over the "x" and "y" overflows. Meaning that I.E will ignore the "x" and "y" properties set and override them with the "overflow" property.

This line of code is missing the closing tag after "block"
Code
#profile #bar{background: transparent; display: block}

When specifying a font with a space in the name, you should wrap the font name itself in single quotation marks.
Example
Code
font-family:'trebuchet ms';

There is no reason to call to the "url" property in the background property if it isn't going to be set.

and finally, this is Gaia specific. When calling to the "url" sub-property of the "content" property wrap the url in single quotations or Gaia will parse the double quotations as """ which C.S.S doesn't understand.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe that the profile was very well made overall.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
I would have to say the hovers were the best feature in this profile. It gave the profile the extra touch it needed without overshadowing the overall beauty.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to say that I would add more content and maybe an actual text section of some sort. Not to say that I don't like the image but, I am not a big fan of images only on a profile even if the image has text within it.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 6.5

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
I have to say that this is definitely an unexpected twist on the theme "hotness" but it fits the theme none the less.

I'd just like to start off with, wonderful job on the profile, the idea especially. I admit that I was taken aback with awe when I first saw the "idea" itself presented. I expected quite a number of "hot" profiles but this definitely takes its rightful place among the creative. I am a bit disheartened that the profile is just one big image but The execution and presentation of the profile is wonderful. Though it lacks content overall I admit it was very well done. =)

#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The theme is original.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I haven't seen a layout exactly like this before.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Ignore does not appear to be available, but the other links are mostly-easy to find. (Take Action being add friends, etc, is a bit confusing to figure out at first. The hover text/ URL allows a person to figure it out, however).
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes, mostly. The text on the official Gaia navigation bar is too small, however. With the light blue it's a tad difficult to read because of the text size.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
No.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Yes, the overall design and thought put into the profile is quite impressive and fresh. The use of mouse hovering is quite creative!
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The miscellaneous hover effects are a nice special touch. Most of which seem to have visual cues so the user is encouraged to hover their mouse over them. Nice job.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes. Everything feels earthly/ "climate shift" related.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
On larger resolutions the background is repeating, which looks a little odd. This hurts the impression slightly, but not enough to ruin the overall impression. After altering the window size to a more standard resolution everything fits nicely.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
None that I could find. The code felt well organized and clean.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes. Quite well. The colour scheme, look and feel, and general flow are consistent and clean.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The nifty hover effects.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
All I can really say is it would be nice if a little information about the user was avalible. Their online status, at the very least. The repeating background image is a bit unfortunate for large resolution computers but it isn't too distracting. But either way, it's a beautiful profile with a strong and important message.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 8.45

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
This profile fits quite well into the round theme of "Hotness". Global warming (AKA climate shift) is certainly hot. Both in weather terms, and popularity topic wise.
_____________________________________________________________
Please put any and all questions, concerns or additional suggestions HERE. Judges, also use this space to elaborate on any of your answers.
Some form of information on the creator would be a nice touch, but so long as the basic links are available it isn't majorly important. And again, the repeating background on larger resolutions is a little disappointing. But it's an understandable flaw from a developer perspective. Keeping web-pages compatible with everything while maintaining their intended look and feel is quite difficult.

Lovely profile, thank you for participating!

Yes, all of them.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yup.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The profile does not contain information directly about the user, but the profile appears to have been made for a different purpose -- to make a point rather than to introduce a certain Gaia user.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
All of the above.

Everything seems to match.

#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
It is a very well-done profile; reminds me of something I designed for a visual arts class once. The profile is refreshing in that it gets a point across rather than just information about the user.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
It is reminiscent of those old PSA's. xD And like a PSA, it gets a little boring. Once you've played with all the neat hover effects, I was left kind of wishing there was a little more to the profile. Maybe something about the user's own efforts to "eliminate global warming."

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 9

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The profile fits the hotness theme because it doesn't get much hotter than global warming...!

Yes.

Yuppers.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile looks "interesting" in that I am trying to figure out what exactly is going on.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
I like the way the implied theme, music, and story seem to kind of match.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
See below.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
There are different fonts in use that are clashing with each other, and I not sure what the symbols for the contact buttons have to do with the nautical dream-scape theme.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink

#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
The construction is okay.

#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The theme, which seems to allude to a sort of nautical dream-scape because of the story, music, and the art at the top.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
Seems a little thrown-together, and mismatched in some areas, as mentioned above. Also, I think the profile would look better centered; in IE, there is a full third more of the profile visible.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 5

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The profile actually reminds me more of "coolness" (as in cool, blue water) than "hotness."

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The overall theme seems original.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
No, I have not seen an arrangement completely identical to this one.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The ignore link is missing, but the other basics are available. However, at first glance due to some use of the Runic Alphabet and a lack of visual cues finding these links is somewhat confusing. I first assumed they were just random wingding texts on the background which served no purpose. Hovering over them, or reading the first about section does clarify the links location however (but after looking up the runic alphabet, I'm not sure if Add/ Trade are actually Runic. Add does appear to be using the ancient symbols for male and female though).
#4--Is the text easy to read?
The messy handwriting-like font on the background is a little difficult to read (as most font that style is), and because the main link buttons are not in English.. or any language( ? ) and contain no first-glance visual cues as to what they are, I would define them as hard to read. Everything else, however, is legible.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Yes.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile does hold some personality if you read the story.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The creator added in a story to explain the overall theme of their profile. But beyond that, there is no "wow" factor.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Although the theme is sort of "dreaming of the ocean", the red fish doesn't seem to match the overall theme. Personally, I'd like to see it replaced with a bottle of rum. When the user signs off the bottle could become empty-- thus leading its viewers to ask, "why is the rum gone?! D: "
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The red fish clashes with the blue scheme of the profile. There also appears to be a yellow-ish border around each separate visitor-comment which clashes with the colour scheme as well.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
I'm not completely sure if what I deem as an issue is really an issue, or what the creator intended when they designed this profile. The main area which houses about/ comments/ buttons/ etc. displays too rightwards and does not align with the background as it may have been intended to. The top Gaia Navigation bar also displays somewhat oddly, as it starts part way down the page and does not align with the background either. I'm unsure whether this was all intended or if it was caused by coding mistakes. Because of that I won't reference the code involving such things, and instead I am just making a note of it.

There is a fair amount of very unnecessary redundancy in the code, which if fixed can make understandability/ editing/ and tracing down errors an easier task. That and it helps condense your code, increase efficiency and cuts down copy/ paste time dramatically.

For example, change this:
Quote:
#bar #ignoreButton {display: none;}
#bar #ignoreButton a {display: none;}
#bar #ignoreButton a:hover {display: none;}

should be changed to this:
Quote:
#bar #ignoreButton, #bar #ignoreButton a,
#bar #ignoreButton a:hover {display: none;}

There are a few sections like above, and some other areas that could easily be combined. An example being:
Quote:
#content { background: url('http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/9532/realcontentbackground.png') no-repeat; width: 800px; height: 600px; }
#content
{ position: relative; top: 340px; left: 125px;}
#content {border-right:none;}

I can't see a reason to separate these sections. I suggest combining them into one, and doing the same in other areas which contain similar unnecessary redundancy.
Quote:
#content
{
background: url('http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/9532/realcontentbackground.png') no-repeat;
width: 800px; height: 600px;
position: relative; top: 340px; left: 125px;
border-right:none;
}

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Overall, the profile does not feel well put together. It feels as though it is incomplete, but I can see some effort was placed in its creation.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The story, soft blue scheme and the fact that the media is not set to auto-play. Thank you!!
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
To start, I'd move the majority of the content more leftwards so it can align properly with the given background. Some sections (mostly the abouts) need to be re-sized and given more room considering the amount of content they contain. The first about section also needs to be more attention grabbing as it contains the story which explains the profile as a whole, and both about sections need scroll bars (I'll explain this more later on). I think the Runic Alphabet on the buttons should be changed as well and replaced with something more suitable/ visually understandable to prevent confusion for visitors.
The Gaia Navigation bar and comment section also need some work.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 5.7

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Upon reading the short story in the first about section, I can say yes it fits fairly well into the contest theme. An overheated worker dreams of the cool ocean~
_____________________________________________________________
Please put any and all questions, concerns or additional suggestions HERE. Judges, also use this space to elaborate on any of your answers.
The main areas containing the content don't seem to be positioned correctly as I've mentioned, and I'd suggest moving them leftwards so they align properly with the given background. And because both about sections contain large amounts of text, it would be a good idea to re-enable the scroll-bars or re-size/ organize the content so both About sections have more room. Preferably both. The reason I'm against the "hidden scroll bar" trick in this scenario is because such user interfaces are there for a persons convenience when a section containing a lot of important content is overflowing. Removing it in those situations will annoy the user at best, as if they need to reference or find something again it takes longer. If you still prefer having a hidden bar, however, I'd recommend you try implementing a hidden scroll bar that re-appears when they hover over that section.

Additionally, the comment section needs some coding work so it can make use of its assigned area.
Thank you for participating. =]

#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The profile is definitely an original creation.

#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I can't say that I've seen this exact arrangement of the sections before but, it does look familiar.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The contact links are at the top of the content and easily found. They aren't named traditionally however so coupled with the small delay that I experience for the image to appear (on hover) in Internet Explorer, that may make it a bit harder for I.E users to find it.

#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text is easy to read and matches with the theme wonderfully. The "visited" links however seem to be a bit too "light" for the colors used.

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Yes, the profile contains a "short but sweet" paragraph about the user. This includes who they are as a person, their likes and their plans. xD I enjoyed reading it.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Overall, I would have to say that this profile is a bit random. It seems almost something out of an illusion though a bit disoriented.

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
I would have to say that the theme itself is what stood out on this profile. I haven't seen any profiles that utilize a theme quite like this.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
The colors and images all seem to match the "main" theme of this profile.

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The positioning of the sections are what really seem to disrupt the flow of this profile. It feels a bit "dropped in".

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
The only issue I could really find in this profile was the use of the "font-family" property. When you call a font (or a set of fonts) you only need to wrap single (not double as Gaia will parse them as
&

and C.S.S doesn't understand what that is) quotes around the fonts with a space in the name. You don't wrap all the fonts you want to use in quotes. =)
Not an issue but, just general C.S.S knowledge. ":nth-of-type" is now read by Firefox, so it isn't a valid C.S.S hack for Chrome and Safari anymore.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I think the idea of the profile was cute but overall the profile seems a bit "random".
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best feature of this profile would definitely be the color scheme. It simulated an actual underwater scene in my mind.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to say that I would add in more sections. The content itself isn't lacking but the profile seems a bit lacking section wise. The body also seems to be differently positioned between I.E and Firefox, which throws your cute little fishy off balance.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 6

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
I can't say that I see any "hotness" in this profile at all. It seems a bit too water (cool) based to be "hot".
_____________________________________________________________
Please put any and all questions, concerns or additional suggestions HERE. Judges, also use this space to elaborate on any of your answers.
Well, I'll honestly tell you. You brought the profile across rather well. I got the actual feeling that I was underwater and even felt a bit nauseous after looking at it (and rocking back and forth on my seat too fast). Please note that was in no way an insult, it just says to me that your use of imagery was spot on. I have to say though that I felt that the "sections" were both lacking and it felt a bit "thrown around". There isn't any center to your profile is what I mean. I know that not everything needs to be geometrically equivalent but, it seemed like a major drawback to myself. The content also seems to be positioned differently between I.E and Firefox. That leaves your poor little fish (I don't know why but I just think he's adorable) out in the "cold" (pardon the horrible pun). I did enjoy reading the actual content of your profile, though I can see your scrollbars which you may want to look into making it "hidden". I thoroughly enjoyed the story and if it were an original piece I definitely want more! D= I would buy your book if you ever published one. (Sorry for digressing so horribly)

The look of the comments. The gray border clashes with the blue alittle. : (
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
I would have deleted all section headers with .section h2 instead of listing each and every one out, to save space and time in coding.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The 'storytime'/about the profile. It was entertaining. xd
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
The comment captions. I would change at least the gray border, make them different background colors and opaque to match.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING =8/10

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
It gives off a watery mirage feel that relates to Hotness, in that manner. The explanation for the profile also helps to envelop it. XD

Similarities, but still original.

No, but the muted color choices are great.

To be honest, not really.

The scrollbars, contact bar, and the background of the profile. It only seems to look well on a 1024x768 screen resolution.

I have seen this theme a number of times before.

#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The layout isn't like most but, it still retains some key elements of a profile.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The contact "links" have not been styled in any way but they have been repositioned and are quite easy to find. =)

#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text within the "comments" section seems a bit small and the "viewing . . . of . . . comments" seems to be a bit "light" for the background it is on. Otherwise, everything else is readable.

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Sorry to say that the profile does not contain any information about the user.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile seems a bit dull in my opinion. It doesn't feel like any steps were taken to really "customize" it or give it any feel at all.

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
I can't say that I see anything that makes the profile really stand out among the others.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
The only thing that really matches the implied theme is the background used.

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The sections within the profile doesn't "clash" with the main theme but it doesn't give a feel that any thought was put into making it collaborate.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I couldn't find any prominent errors in the codes though I would like to focus on line breaks.
Code
#content {
background: url(http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s162/tylerisdabomb/ASunnydayBackground.png) top left no-repeat; height:

731px; width:10
24px; margin-top:-10px;
}

The code here is just fine, I just wanted to point out that random linebreaks (such as the one after "width:10" could probably cause a potential issue. I may or it may not, I am unsure as to if it affects your C.S.S inadvertently, but to be on the safe side, you should probably avoid breaking off "mid" declaration. Especially when assigning a value to a property.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
The profile really doesn't feel like it was worked on very much however, it was still put together fairly well.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The background would have to be the best feature of this profile. It was one of the few things that seemed to build the profile.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to say that I would position the sections in a more "elaborate" manner and add some simple touches to the sections themselves. Put a little more energy into the profile overall, it could be beautiful with the right adjustments.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 4

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The theme seems to fit the "hotness" theme fairly well. It is somewhat a common concept but, it matches the theme in its own way. =)

To be honest, I've looked this profile over a number of times. I really didn't "feel" any commitment or effort put into making this profile at all. There is nothing that really screams to me that it was made to the best of your abilities. I like the idea and I like simplistic beauty of the background used but everything else seems to be strewn around and unplanned. You also have a "comment line" in your codes that indicate that you were either working on a #bar or that you were planning to. I think that you should customize that section especially. No profile is complete without that extra touch right? I suggest that you take this profile and adapt on it even more. I expect even greater things from you in the future. =)

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The theme isn't completely original, I've seen a few with similar schemes.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The layout stands slightly independent from others, but I have seen a few quite similar to this.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The default Gaia links bar was left un-altered, so yes. Comments is also available.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
In the comments section, due to a choice of colour "Viewing 4 of 4 comments." is not readable. Also, due to improper sizing with comments the actual comments themselves get cut off on their right sides.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The online/ offline status is available, but no other information is.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The entire profile has a simple and cute feel to it, but I wouldn't say it is impressive or holds much personality as a whole.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
No.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
No, but almost. The multimedia video, which is about a phone, has nothing to do with the overall theme. The Gaia Links bar, which was left default, also does not relate to the overall theme. Everything else, however, does.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The back-most background breaks the flow slightly, as it feels like there should be at least some type of repeating image. After checking, I learned the back-background colour is also just the default-Gaia background colour.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
So... much... very-very-very unnecessary redundancy... gonk ...ahh... I will address that first.

Take this section for example:
Quote:
#friends {display:none;}
#details h3{display:none;}
#details hr{display:none;}
#details dl dt strong{display:none;}
#details dl dd a{display:none;}
#details h2 {display:none;}
#details {display:none;}
#journal{display:none;}
#profile h2{display:none;}
#about h2{display:none;}
#signature{display:none;}
#wishlist h2{display:none;}

Should... really should be changed to:
Quote:
#friends, #details h3, #details hr, #details dl dt strong,
#details dl dd a, #details h2, #details {display:none;},
#journal, #profile h2, #about h2, #signature, #wishlist h2{display:none;}

Your entire code is basically dripping with code like this, most revolving around display:none; or border:none;

Also, identical fields can be combined. The about section also had some redundant... redundancy with 'color', 'width' and a few other minor errors. I've underlined them in the following example:
Quote:
#about{background:transparent; position:absolute; left:100px; top:160px; width: 200px; font-family: century gothic; text-align:center; margin-top: 0px; spacing: 2px; word-spacing: 3px;color:#;overflow-x:hidden; overflow-y:scroll; max-height: 169px;
color:#000;}
#about {width:231px;height:169px;}
#about {color:#ffffff}

I've cleaned up this code slightly, and removed two of the 'color''s and 1 of the 'width''s.
Quote:
#about
{
background:transparent; position:absolute;
left:100px; top:160px; width:231px; height:169px;
font-family: century gothic; text-align:center;
margin-top: 0px; spacing: 2px; word-spacing: 3px;
overflow-x:hidden; overflow-y:scroll; max-height: 169px;
color:#ffffff;
}

Remember: every time you coat your code in layers of useless redundancy, a kitten dies. D:
But seriously, I recommend reviewing your code and fixing small mistakes/ clean up the redundancy. It's good practice and may fix some of the display issues. For example, the over-flow does not work or was not implemented in the comment area and it appears to have been sized incorrectly as the comments are half cut off. The about section also appears to not be placed in the designated area, it's a few points lower then it should be (and I recommend hiding the over-flow until it is actually needed). There is a lot of redundant code and minor errors throughout the code, too much for me to address here. I recommend proof-reading it as it would catch the majority. If you need any help just state so in the CPC and I'll PM you personally to help if you want.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Overall, the profile is fairly well put together. It flows decently well, but the default background/ Gaia Link bar take a lot away from it.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The sunny/ hilly/ flowery background.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would change the Gaia Link Bar to something custom, have a custom background colour vs. default. The code issues also need to be fixed, and something should probably be added into the About section to both show it is functioning correctly and actually serves a purpose. At the very least, throw a paragraph of Lorem ipsum in that section to fill it.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 5.92

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
This profile fits nicely into the contest theme as there it has a summery-theme.

One additional comment I'd like to make is the user name of the comment poster is not visible. I'm not entirely sure if this is because of the sizing issue, however. Again, review your code and fix the minor errors. It might fix some of these issues.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
There were no major issues but I found some small errors.
In this line of code, you declared the background twice ( with the second declared wrongly).
Code
body{width: 1006px; background: url(http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s218/glorious_site/Background6.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-color: url;(http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s218/glorious_site/Background-main.gif); }

In this line of code, if you are using "transparent" there is no need for the pound sign since it isn't actually a hex decimal value. This particular line of code is also redundant because you also specify all panels to be set to a transparent background. =)
Code
#id_comments {background: #transparent;}

In this line of code, you are calling the overflow property three times. You only need to use the "overflow" property itself or the "overflow-x" and "overflow-y" properties together. I've found that I.E liked to ignore the "overflow-x" and "overflow-y" if there is an "overflow" set (even if it is before the x and y specifications).
Code
#id_custom_14133 {overflow; scroll; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: auto; height: 200px; color: #FFF;}

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe that the profile was decently put together.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
In my opinion, the best feature of this profile would have to be that it is a Current type profile. Very rarely do I see Current type profiles that look so much like a Classic type profile.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to add in more sections, although I enjoy that there is a "badges" section which I don't see very much in customized profiles. I'd also have to say that there should be a lot more content and customization going on in this profile. Especially because it is a V2 type profile. =)

I'll start off by saying that the image used is cute. I just wish that with all the free space you had at the top (by the bar type links) that you used it efficiently, being that your links are there of course). The gradient used in the background beneath that was pretty cool itself. I also like that it doesn't look like a Current type profile, not that I dislike the style but I enjoy seeing the "mold" broken every now and then. I think that there needs to be more information and content. I'm a bit sad that I don't get to see what the "Other" section is for, I admit that it definitely peaked my curiosity. xD Overall, the profile seems like it needs a little more. Show me a part of who you are in this profile. Make it stand out, make the crowd go crazy! Keep it simple but make it desirable. =)

I have seen this theme before. Third time this contest itself, actually. xp
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
Yes, I have seen similar layouts. Large image on top, comments on right, about section under left hand side of large image...~ the Badges section and Other section are new, however.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The Ignore button was not available. The transparency/ colour/ and tininess of PM/ Add/ Trade made them a less noticeable, but they are relatively easy to find.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text on Gaia's Navigation bar are difficult to read due to the altered spacing (the letters are too close together). Everything else is readable.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
No.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Because this is a fairly common theme and doesn't really hold any unique values, no I can't say it is. The lack of content in about/ badges/ and other kind of add to the "empty" feeling. The background is nice, just it isn't enough alone.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
They added a unique hover effect for linked text.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
No, not really. It flows quite well.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
All that I really noticed was a little redundancy in areas that should be combined. An example being:
Quote:
#id_comments {position:absolute; left:530px; top:430px; overflow: scroll; width:320px; overflow-x: hidden;}
#id_comments {background: #transparent;}
#id_comments {height:400px;}

change this to:
Quote:
#id_comments
{
position:absolute; left:530px; top:430px;
overflow: scroll; width:320px; overflow-x: hidden;
background: #transparent; height:400px;
}

There are a few areas similar to above (another example being id_about) that could be combined for efficiency.
Also, in '#id_about' add on overflow-y: hidden; to hide the scroll bar until it is actually needed.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes, overall it is well designed.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The background image is quiet nicely made. The profiles radiates with summer warmth because of it. =]
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would remove the badge/ other section then shorten comments and the entire profile as those two areas do not seem to be in use. Additionally, I'd probably try to make the add/ pm/ etc buttons stand out a little more.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
This theme is definitely original. I have yet to see a theme as this one yet!

#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The sections are laid out quite uniquely.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
I was unable to find any contact type links on this profile.

#4--Is the text easy to read?
The colors used for the text (even the default black) seem to perfectly blend into the profile however, a big issue I have personally is the size of the text. It seems a bit too small to myself.

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The profile contains little to no information about the user themselves.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Honestly, this profile feels like a breathe of fresh air to me. It lifted my spirits a little for reasons beyond my understanding. I think it may have something to do with the beautiful use of the images and colors.

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
I would have to say that the "color tones" used in the profile makes it stand out among the rest.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Everything used does seem to match the main theme.

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The only two things I see that really "disrupt" the flow of the profile were the autoplay and the font type used for the "Who I am . . ." header. I just don't think it matches the profile at all.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I was unable to find any prominent issues on your profile. You do have two minor things I would like to touch on however.

In this line of code, you are setting the object to a display of none as well as setting a background for it. If it is going to be removed, there is no need to set any other settings for the property in my opinion.
Code
.forum_userstatus{
display:none;
background: transparent;
}

Code
#id_comments{
width: 278px;
height: 391px;
overflow: auto;
overflow-x: hidden;
overflow-y: hidden;
position : absolute ;
top : 220px ;
/* rest of code edited out */}

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe the profile is extremely well put together, it seems almost breathtaking. =)
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best feature of this profile is most definitely the color scheme. I enjoy how even the avatar (maybe it wasn't on purpose) even matches the overall theme. =D

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to change the font-size first and foremost. It really hurts my eyes viewing it's present size. I would also have to take off the autoplay. xD The font for the "header type" for the sections I would change but, only because of personal preference. My biggest concern however is that you have a huge gap of space at the bottom that isn't being utilized.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
I believe this profile definitely shines in "hotness". It matches the theme almost flawlessly.

I personally love the profile, from the color to the images. I only wish that the autoplay wasn't on, it kind of killed the profile's initial glory for me. I am glad that the pause / play button is left however. =D Overall I like the feel of the profile, there is space for a LOT more content though. Also, the background repeats (on a big enough resolution) so you may want to look into that. This profile is otherwise beautifully done. You did a great job on it. =)

The layout seems to be original.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
No. Add/ View comments was the only standard Gaia Link available.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
No. The choice of colour, font, and size make most of the text quite difficult to read. Besides the comment section, the only text I can easily make out is "The Summer" and "Avatar".
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
No.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profiles uniqueness allows it to stand alone from the others and it seems to have a little personality.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
Nothing note-worthy, no.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The green (wine? ) bottle clashes with the colour scheme.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
A bit messy, but nothing major c.
The scroll bar in the comment section doesn't seem to be working. This can be fixed by going to the #id_comments section and changing:
Quote:
overflow-y: hidden;

to this:
Quote:
overflow-y: auto;

After adding that code in, I also noticed the scroll bar didn't seem to align wonderfully with the assigned area. This can be fixed with some minor size tweaking.

Besides the code being a little messy, I didn't notice anything else wrong. = )

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Overall, the layout does hold a fairly consistent colour scheme. But with few to none of the most standard Gaia Links (add/ ignore/ trade/ pm) the lost usability/ functionality as a profile damages the overall impression slightly.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The soft colour scheme.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would remove the clashing green bottle/ or alter its colour to something more fitting. Additionally, I would fix the scroll bar, change the text to colours/sizes/ fonts so something more readable and try to add in the standard Gaia links.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 6.80

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Personally, to me the profile gives off a cool Autumn feel rather than the heat of the summer. However, the creator does seem to have some explanation on their background relating their profile to the contest theme.

I'd recommend somehow fitting the standard Gaia links into the dock area, possibly as more bottles with words on them or something. It's a large area, so it shouldn't be too hard.
The lack of functionality and poor readability is really the main issue I found with this profile, beyond that everything is quite nice.

The profile does contain ample information about the user. =)

#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
I believe this profile is mystical. The use of the music and colors are all extraordinary.

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
If anything I would have to say that the wonderful use of imagery is what makes this profile really stand out from the rest.

Everything does seem to match the implied theme

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The only thing that really seems to disrupt the flow of the profile is that there is a lot of unnecessary, unused space.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I only found a few minor issues with the profile,
Firstly, this line is making use of a selector specific to classic type profiles
Code
#multimedia embed, #multimedia object{height: 50px; width: 50px; autostart:yes;}

and there is no "autostart" property in C.S.S as far as I know. =)

It is unnecessary to call a background property if you are not going to set a value to it
Code
background: url();

As far as I know, there is no "websafe" font by the name of "tahuma". There is one that you can download from a third party site for free but, if your viewers don't have the font installed they will not see it as you may like them to.
Code
font-family: tahuma ;

When calling to a font that has a space in the name, wrap the font name itself in single quotation marks.
Code
font-family: Times new roman;

There is a space and a line break between "text" and "-align". This property should be together for it to be effective.
Code
text

-align: center;

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe that the profile seems to be beautifully put together. Although there seems to be a lot of unused space, it is beautiful regardless!
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best feature of this profile would definitely be the images!

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to say that I would probably fill the "empty" spaces with a bit more content. =) The profile seems a bit "long" for having so little content in it.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7.5

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?

The first thing I would like to point out would be the credits. I hope you got ample permission from pepper-tea to use her art in a profile contest. What really worries me though is the "Profile by:" part of the credits. I am not sure if you are a mule of WandySama or maybe a close friend of that person but, stating "Profile by:" implies that WandySama made the profile and if you are not WandySama then it would be very unethical of you to submit her works into a profile contest without her explicit permission. After getting that out of the way, the profile overall is beautiful. It has the odd nature that the item itself seems to express. It also has a beautiful color scheme that I just adored greatly. One of the biggest drawbacks for me was that there was so much empty space on it. I have a fairly decent sized screen and it still scrolls quite a lot (while dishing out what I believe to be minimal content). Maybe you should look into adding more to the profile itself because the layout is already past beautiful. I have to point out that autoplay really doesn't strike the right chord for me even though the music matches perfectly. Great job to the maker of the profile!

He has added his own panel headers to the two different sides of the profile.

#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes.

The font for the panel headers in the second column of the profile clash on the black.

#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The cleanliess of the header and the beginning of the columns lining up well to give off some sore of innovative look.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would make the panel headers in the second part of the profile a slightly darker color, a different font to match in general, and pushed down alittle more to fit in the 'shark' of the header(s). I would also make the media player embed/object smaller, seeing how it is unnecessary to be so large for very few songs.

The personal additions, such as the art, and the poems/prose. With a very lengthy profile such as this, you were wise to include visually pleasing graphics at the end.

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
I have seen profiles based of Evolving Items or Gaia items before, so the idea itself isn't completely original. Though this is the first one I have seen based on Reve Rouille so it does hold some originality in my eyes for that.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
No, the arrangement of sections seems original.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The ignore button does not seem to be available, but the other general standard Gaia Links are.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
When you hover over the links on this profile, the text colour changes to a dark brown colour that given the background, is not readable. Besides this, all text is readable.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Yes.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The lovely Reve Rouille artwork defiantly gives the profile some personality. Because it is based on artwork for an Evolving item, however, it doesn't feel very "fresh" or "new".
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
No.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
No, the theme seems pretty solid and consistent.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
Yes. There were three things which I found which either distrubted the flow of colours, or seemed to clash with the profile as a whole. The first and second being the titles on the right: "Poetry/ Musique". I'm not sure if it's because of the strong colour red not sitting well with the background, or the choice of font (Times New Roman). I think if the colour was darkened slightly, the font changed and/ or maybe not fully capitalized it might blend better with the entire profile rather then stick out awkwardly. The second part which seems to clash with the entire profile is the multimedia player. It appears if a default red theme was selected for its colour theme, rather then being customized so its colours would reflect the profile itself. The amount of red is fairly overpowering on the right side of the page. Also, because there only seems to be two songs (though only one actually works), the playlist itself is far larger then it actually needs to be (unless the user plants to extent the playlist). If not, I'd recommend downsizing it then squeezing it in somewhere more appropriate to save space.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
Though the code is a little messy and un-organized, I didn't notice any issues that should directly harm the profiles appearance. There was a little redundancy, but this can be cleaned up pretty easily and even tidy up the code slightly.
An example from your code:
Quote:
#column_1 .panel embed{ width: 300px; height:300px;}
#column_2 .panel embed{ width: 400px; height:400px;}
...
#column_1 .panel object{ width: 300px; height:300px;}

There are a few sections dedicated to display:none; that can also be combined with the use of commas.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Overall given its theme, yes.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The artwork.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would disable the auto-play on the multimedia playlist, customize its colours to reflect the profile and probably downsize dramatically and try to find another space for it to reduce page scrolling. I would also change the font/colour of the Music and Poetry titles.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7.00

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
In all honestly, I have a bit of difficulty seeing this profile in terms of "Hotness". My guess, however, is that the women in the art at the top of the profile seems to be using a welding torch. So, in those terms, the profile does indeed contain hotness.

Very vibrant, which is a plus to the theme and in general.

They have added their own personal images as well.

+ A different take on colors and theme
+ Use of personal images
+ bar matches
+/- A little more black on the right could somehow be added, but not necessary. Might actually make it worse, but it depends. Experiment with it!

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
I have seen themes fairly similar to this.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
No. The presentation of the layout feels unique.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Yes. Everything is quite easily accessible.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Some background text/ buttons such as About/ Comments/ Add/ etc blend a little too much with the background and can be over-looked accidentally, but they are quite readable.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The about section contains a tiny amount, but not much. The profile doesn't seem to contain an "Online/ Offline" status, either.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Being as I have seen a few somewhat "warm beach" themed profiles, I can't say it feels very new or fresh. The profile does, however, radiate with warmth. I think it actually caused me to turn on my air conditioner. So, I would say it definitely holds a warm personality, more so then others I've seen.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
Yes. Hidden scroll bars were used, and the Gaia Navigation bar at the top was altered in a neat way. The main mouse has also been altered to the "help" icon, which given my custom mouse looks quite nice with the profile.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The amount of black on the palm tree images use seem to clash with most of the profile. Around the edges of the areas that hold the images too, seem too "sharp" and I think may look nicer if smoothened out with a weak blur. If a bit of editing is done to the beach images it may help them stand out less and blend better with the rest of the profile. But I do leave it open as a possibility the creator intended to the viewer to notice these images first above all else.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
The code itself is quite nicely organized and easy to read. There is one overflow issue I noticed in the comment box, however. Some of the comments get cut off near the bottom once you've scrolled as far as you can. After messing with a few things, I think I may have fixed it.
The height in this piece of code seemed to be the issue:
Quote:
#comments dl {overflow-y:auto;padding-right:500px;height:365px;width:190px;}

After altering it to this it was displaying properly on my side:
Quote:
#comments dl
{
overflow-y:auto; padding-right:500px;
height:265px;width:190px;
}

I also noticed a bit of redundancy floating about in your code, particularly in the /*---Garbage---*/ section. Most of the redundancy in your code revolves around "display:none;". You can combine those sections using commas, throw them all under garbage, and just use one "display:none;" in stead of 10++.

An example from your code being:
Quote:
#details #info{ display: none}
#commonFriends { display: none; }
#details h2 {display: none;}
#details #info {display:none;}
[continues]

This can be changed to:
Quote:
#details #info, #commonFriends,
#details h2, #details #info {display:none;}
Just use a coma to tag on more sections, like shown above. You do it in a few areas, but not in most places.

I also noticed some areas you accidentally override something in the same section between brackets. An example:
Quote:
#comments {background:transparent; position:absolute; width: 200px; height:365px; left:136px; top:350px; border:none; font-family:tahoma; font-size:10px; color: #b70802; overflow:auto; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y:hidden; height:370px;}

In the above, you declare two heights and assign then different values. The last one overrides the first one. But in this section, I think you accidentally tagged on the spare.

Additionally, at the very start of your code there are two lines of code which don't seem to serve any purpose:
Quote:
#content #main, #about, #journal, #friends, #multimedia, #comments, #signature{height: auto;}
#content #main, #about, #journal, #friends, #multimedia, #comments, #signature{height: auto;}

In the sections you actually seem to use from the above, you declare custom heights. In the sections you do not use are disabled via "display:none" somewhere else in your code.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Overall, yes. The warm theme is pulled off well, and the colour scheme remains strong and mostly consistent. It's a well designed profile.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The warm glow it gives off and nice use of fonts/ shapes.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would work on blending the beach images to fit in a little more, and possibly make a few buttons/ titles slightly more noticeable. In the About area, I would also make it so the scroll-bar re-appears when the user hovers over it. It took me a while to actually realize there was more text in that area.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 8.20

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Very well in terms of physical heat. The profile actually feels "warm".

The theme may be unique but I've seen many variations of the same concept before.

#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I don't believe that I've seen a profile arranged like this one before.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The bar type links are a bit hard to catch at first but they are beautifully made and positioned accordingly.

#4--Is the text easy to read?
The black text is a perfect compliment to such a bright profile. I think it matches the theme perfectly. The links are also very well color coordinated! =D

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
I believe that the profile contains ample information about the user. =)

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
I believe the profile seems a bit bright. Understandably though, because the summer heat is bright itself is it not?

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The images used would have to be what really makes this profile stand out. It incorporates the heat of summer with the beauty of a summer feild. It seems like both the perfect match and compliment all in one.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Everything on the profile seems to match the implied theme. Even the color of the text!

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
I can't seem to find anything that clashes with the theme of the profile. Everything is so beautifully done.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I only encountered some minor coding issues.
The left property in this line of code is lacking a metric definition. When you specify a numerical value to a property like "left" you have to define a metric type after the number or C.S.S will not know how to calculate the value you put in. (Example, px or em or pt).
Code
#content {background:transparent url(http://i625.photobucket.com/albums/tt337/xbreeze7/august-contest.png) no-repeat ;position:absolute;border:0px;height: 800px;width:1024px;top:60px; left:100; }

In this line of code, you specify a transparent background but go on to specify the "background-position" and "background-repeat". If the background is transparent I don't think it is necessary to specify any of those other properties unless the background has an image url. =) Also, you are calling the overflow property three times. You only need to use the "overflow" property itself or the "overflow-x" and "overflow-y" properties together. I've found that I.E liked to ignore the "overflow-x" and "overflow-y" if there is an "overflow" set (even if it is before the x and y specifications).
Code
#about {background:transparent top center
no-repeat;position:absolute;top:280px;left:380px;font-size:9pt;overflow:auto; overflow-x:hidden; overflow-y:hidden; height:300px; width:500px;}

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe the profile is beautifully made overall.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best features of this profile would be the images used. They fit right into the profile theme almost perfectly.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to say that I would add more content into the profile overall. It feels so empty to have such a beautiful profile lacking content.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 8

The profile is beautifully made, no doubt about that. I could see the work that went into making it shine. The only real issues that I have with it are, the lack of content (just because I am something of a content freak and love to eat up any information you give me to read) and the lines at the top of your code.

Code
#content #main, #about, #journal, #friends, #multimedia, #comments, #signature{height: auto;}
#content #main, #about, #journal, #friends, #multimedia, #comments, #signature{height: auto;}

I personally feel that these lines are unnecessary and give many experienced coders the impression that the code you used was either from tektek.org or a derivative of tektek.org works. You may want to be wary of that next time, especially as it is doubled up like that.

The skill, design, and added poetry which is part of the design itself makes this profile fall under all the provided descriptive words above. It is honestly more unique and eye-grabbing then most profiles I have encountered.

Yes. They embedded a scrolling image that allows the scenery to change as the viewer advances through the poetic short story on the right.

Firstly, I want to say that I thought the images and the use of them were gorgeous. The scrolling background with a "window" type setting is a beautiful thought. The issue for me is that it seems to be the only focus on your profile. There isn't anything else worth looking at at all. I was sad to see that for some reason or another your image could not load at all while I was judging it and I was left with only a black background with a very uncreative look and feel to it. As much as I love the concept, this profile focuses on a single element instead of the entire profile as a whole. I hope that you advance on this and make it even better for the future. =)

This profile is definitely original!

#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The profile layout itself seems very familiar. I believe I have seen a number of profiles using similar layouts.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
I was unable to find any bar type links on the profile. The comments links are easy to find and conveniently placed. =)

#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text is very easy to read however, the "visited" links seem to be a bit too small for my tastes.

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The profile seems to contain an ample amount of information about the user and their general self.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile seems calm in my opinion. It reminds me of days back when I would go swimming with my neighbors. =D

#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
I would have to say that the unique use of green in this profile definitely makes it stand out among the rest. It seems balanced and beautiful.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Everything in the profile seems to match the implied theme. xD

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
I can't seem to find anything that really clashes with the profile, everything used seems to really add to its beauty.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
Code
#comments:hover {overflow: auto; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: auto;}

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe that the profile was very well made and structured. I almost forgot that is was a Classic type profile. =D
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best feature of this profile would have to be the use of imagery, especially the grass. It is just beautifully blended it that it doesn't leave a sour visual distaste at all.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have to say that the lack of content was a huge disappointment. There should also have been a bit more "interactivity" added to the profile. The bar links would have been perfect for the top header (with the different images). I personally can't say that I found the music to match the profile at all. It doesn't affect anything though because it is a beautiful song. =D

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 6

#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The profile doesn't really seem to capture the "hotness" theme but I can see that it leads to it a bit. So I would say that relates to the "hotness" theme only fairly well.

I love the images! Love them! I was taken back to a few good memories on seeing them. I also love how the overall background color doesn't seem to clash with the profile (given the use of green) at all. I would definitely say that you could have used the top header to implement some bar type links without hesitation. What I would really like to see is a bit more content on the profile, and maybe you could have changed the color of the youtube video flash to match your profile theme. Also great job on not autoplaying. I really have to say that I love that the most. xD

No, I have not seen a layout arranged exactly like this.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Add comments and the view options are available. The other standard links such as PM, Ignore, etc are not.

Yes.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
This profile feels as though it is beaming with personality. The great contrast of colours, shape, layout, and music make this a very "fresh" feeling profile.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
Yes, hidden scroll bars that appear upon hovering over the section.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The blue of the mini-media list clashes with most of the other colours on the profile.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
There was one small issue I noticed in the comment box. It scrolls "too" far down, beyond where the comments stopped. After adding in the following code, that little space seems gone.
Quote:
#comments dl
{
width: 200px; height: 330px;
}

Also, in the /*ERASED*/ section I noticed some things were not included in the first section separated by commas. Though I'm unsure, the creator may have not known the .caption areas can also be included into that list using the same separation via commas.
Quote:
.caption:before, .caption:after, .caption2:before, .caption2:after {display:none;}

The code is a bit too crushed/ condensed together for my liking in some areas, but beyond the listed I didn't notice any other problems. Overall it was clean and organized.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes. The creator did an excellent job balancing the colour scheme.

#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The colour scheme, hover-scroll bars, and non-auto-playlist (thank you!).
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?

I would have used .section h2 to display:none all the headers, and though this isn't much of a coding issue, the link to their patch doesn't work. One would have to have a good knowledge on gaia urls to insert the User's ID number into the url as well to get to the patch, as underlined.

No. The layout seems unique to the profile.

#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Due to the default colour, at first PM/Ignore/etc are a tad difficult to see at first. When hovering over them, however, they are highlighted and become more visible Additionally, I actually can't seem to find a view/ add comments button.
#4--Is the text easy to read?

#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Yes.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
In my opinion, this profile feels quite clean and stylish. There is a solid, and consistent colour scheme and the photos the woman are used quite well. Definitely impressive, and full of personality.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The main cursor is the cross hair, and the media playlist is hidden until the viewer hovers over the yellow bar which is quite interesting.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The creators avatar clashes/ disrupt the flow of yellow and orange. Beyond this, everything fits together nicely. Nice call on hiding the playlist using the hover effect, as otherwise the amount of yellow would have been too overpowering.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
The code itself is quite clean and organized. No complaints there! I am however, a little curious if the creator intended for the comments section to be non-scrollable and if they purposefully removed the add/ view comments section.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes. A lot of effort clearly went into this profiles design. It came out beautifully.

#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The colours, playlist, and overall layout. The large and altered Gaia Navigation bar is also a nice touch.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would enable scrolling in the comment section, either with a hidden scroll bar and or "pop up upon hovering" scroll bar. I'd also like to see the return of Add/ view comments unless you disabled adding comments to your profile. On a "correct use of interface cues" point, I'd like to see another mouse icon used for hovering over links. Right now the "do not enter sign" appears, which I personally find an odd choice for links.

#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I only found minor coding issues on this profile.

Code
html{height: 775px; overflow: auto; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: auto; cursor: crosshair; font-family: tahoma;}

In this line you are calling the background property but not setting it. There is no need to call the property in that case.
Code
#header_right{background: url();}

In this line you misspelled the "position" property.
Code
#profile .avatar{ppsition: absolute; top: 506px; left: 773px;}

and finally, when you are calling the z-index property, you must set the position property to anything but static. Otherwise the z-index will not take effect.
Code
#profile{background: transparent; z-index: 1;}

Please look at structure:

I believe that this profile was extremely well made. It is fully coordinated and requires no real changes.

Well firstly, wow! This profile is breathtaking. It makes great use of space and imagery. The colors although unorthodox seem to perfectly match in my opinion. Everything is well laid out and sized wonderfully. I admit that I thought this profile was a Current type profile for quite some time. It makes amazing use of the limited visuals you used. It pops them all out without making them overbearing. I really like the image you used, she fits so perfectly into the theme that I believe you were going for. Wonderful job and keep up the great work. I hope to see even more from you in the future!

For example, they could have added captions to the pictures or something else which would have explained the significance of the pictures chosen; as it is, they look fairly random.

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
Yes
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
No

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Yes
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes. The text could be a bit darker, however it might diminish the overall look.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Aside from a button leading to a profile shop, no.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Yes, the profile seems new.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
Yes, images from Gaia's comics/manga and a Youtube clip from Gaia's cartoon (which I didn't know existed).

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
I thought everything flowed well.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (Optional; you may answer "N/A." )
I didn't notice any errors.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
I liked the "You kids these days" ramblings.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
The only thing I didn't like and that I would probably try to change would be the font used in the Gaia bar at the top. I think something more rounded like verdana or comic sans might look and mach better with the Gaia logo.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 6 out of 10

#15--The theme for this profile is either "Olden Gaia", "CPC Theme", or Toddlers", based on the category it is listed under. How well does this profile fit the theme for its category?
Based on my limited knowledge of early Gaia, I think this profile fits the "olden Gaia" theme very well.

Next to the images is another Gaia logo. I'm not sure if it would be aloud....or possible, but I think this would be the best place for the Gaia links (My Gaia, Shop, Sign Out, ect.) But again, I'm not sure if that would be allowed.

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
Even though the profile does reflect the theme at first glance it is not original. It is just squares with bits of arts which is a pretty much usual idea if you ask me when it comes to remembering things. It's like an album, and I am kinda sad that if this was the vision for the profile, they did not went any further and developed the idea more.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
Not exactly like that, but pretty much, yes.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The contact buttons have been removed and I don't really know if this was part of the author's idea but a profile should always have ways of the user to contact you, in my opinion. On the other side, the add/view comment links are easily accessed, but they are nothing special...
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes, but not pleasing to the eye because of the font family. Old doesn't always mean a Serif font...
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Not that I can see, all I see is a poem with some pictures right after it in the about me, the media, and the comments.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Uhm... no. neutral
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The often use of old halloween gaia manga created a kind of seldom-scary atmosphere on the profile which obviously made it stand out from the rest. But nothing else that I can see.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Well, yes. But, the font choice could have been better. Also, the video itself helped create an even stronger yet still seldom-scary atmosphere on the profile.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
Not that bother me; no.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (Optional; you may answer "N/A." )
Not anything, but I will say that the coding needs to more organized next times. I am not talking about commenting your profile code because that is completely up to you, but there needs to be uniformity in your coding style. I'd suggest that instead of nesting all the altered properties of an element into one line, you put each property into a new line so it can be read easily. Just saying though, it's nothing really special

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
So-so. it's not bad... but it's not great. It needs some work in my opinion. Design and code-wise.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The blue used for the main font, it's pleasing to the eye.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
Many things, starting from the arrangement of pictures, the addition of some headers, the addition of some gradients and lightning effects and more colors and shapes. But that means totally changing the profile, so if I wanted to leave it as is, I would at least center the profile.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 4

#15--The theme for this profile is either "Olden Gaia", "CPC Theme", or Toddlers", based on the category it is listed under. How well does this profile fit the theme for its category?
Well. In a scale from 1 (being the worst) and 10 (being the best), I give it a 7. I am gonna be honest, the reason it first the theme, it's because of the border used and the first picture in the second/center column which was on Gaia's homepage for a lot of time. but that's about it. Though it stands out a lot and I gotta credit that.

I am sorry if my comments were somewhat offensive, totally not my intention. I hope that my comments instead of awakening any anger, awake inspiration inside of you. Cheers!

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
I realize that this profile is based off of an original idea but, even so, I don't see much originality.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
No.

Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The only Gaia links on here are the add/view comments and, yes, they can be accessed easily.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
No.

Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
I would say it's fresh
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
It's in a very straight-edged grid system. The boxes all look like windows, which is something that I really liked.

Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
As for 'Flow' I would say that both the disclaimer and the Gaia logo off to the side make the layout seem offbalanced.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (Optional; you may answer "N/A." )
If it had been cenetered, it would have looked a lot better. That and I would have liked to have seen more colors added to the comments section. Other than that, no. No.

Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
The profile itself is fairly simple. Simple is fine, but it lacks all 'wow factor' which, in my opinion, simplicity needs.
It's seems too minimal. The comments and about should have been extrended down to meet the boxes height.
The coding in regards to the content is not thought out very well.

_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
All of the sexy Gaia art
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
That it isn't centered, the lack of colors where the content is concerned, and the simplicity of the content.
In the words of Radiocarbon "A profile is used for holding you content," If it is all just images with the content slapped in, it isn't much of a profile.

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 5

#15--The theme for this profile is either "Olden Gaia", "CPC Theme", or Toddlers", based on the category it is listed under. How well does this profile fit the theme for its category?
Well enough.

I really liked the general idea behind this profile, but I am so a**l when it comes to balance in design. Your profile seemed so unbalanced to me that it took away from the theme.
