xd I admit that is weird on some levels.
From the perspective of normal-ly odd people, anyways.
Back in the day, I used to make Guild Layouts for people on neopets.
I'd be creepy and keep all of the guilds book marked so I could see how people changed things over time. >.>;
So I sorta' know where you're coming from, haha.
Besides a few colour tweaks, and more visual feed back on the pm / trade / etc buttons my profile likely won't change much though... I like it so. xp You won't find many interesting changes on mine in the future.
Need to get started on my friends profile, anyways.
Any chance you'd let me be a judge for the next contest, by the way? ninja

I will take the criticism away to help improve my CSS skills. >_< I think it's mostly my design that needs work though.
Next theme... Are they all season based? Or are some random?

If you look at the "Past Contests" section of the CPC main thread, you can get an idea of the themes we have had in the past. Some were based on design, some on seasons, music, etc. I will take into consideration any theme that is offered. biggrin

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The theme does hold some originality, but I have seen some relatively similar.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
Yes. A large image at the top, the friend list right most and the "about" section directly beneath the top image is a common arrangement.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
I was unable to able to find any of these standard links.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
No, all text, including the text on background is quite difficult to read.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
No.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile holds some personality, as it seems reflects the creators love for their definition of "hotness".
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
No.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
I'm not entirely sure what the intended theme of this profile is, besides the colour scheme. The multimedia's shape, however, does not seem to fit well into its assigned area. The amount of red also seems to make it the most noticeable part of the profile, which I don't believe was intended. The black shadows of the female figures also feels a little out of place. But overall, the colour scheme does stay mostly consistent throughout the profile.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
Yes. The multimedia, as mentioned above seems to disrupt the profiles flow due to it's colours and size. The Gaia Navigation bar at the top and black female silhouettes also seems to break the intended colour scheme somewhat.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
I am not that familure with V.2 profiles, but I did spot some noticeable and unnecessary redundancy in the "/*Display None*/" area.
In stead of doing this:
You could instead put:
Just separate the sections with comas. =]
Additionally, I assume the contestant forgot to enable publicly viewable friends-lists as the "buds" area is empty.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Some thought appeared to have gone into its creation, but overall its negative aspects such as un-readable text and missing content are too notable.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
It has an interesting colour scheme.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I'd disable auto-play on the multimedia as it's annoying. The font colour also needs to be changed to something more readable, and in all honesty the choice of colours makes it a bit difficult to stare at for lengthy periods of time.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 4.5
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The colour scheme and female figures surely fit the creators definition of "Hotness".

Please put any and all questions, concerns or additional suggestions HERE. Judges, also use this space to elaborate on any of your answers.
The un-readable text and overly-bright theme would likely be my greatest concerns on this profile. Auto-play on multimedia is generally a bad idea as it tends to annoy the majority of users. Specifically those who are already listening to music before visiting your profile as it interrupts whatever they are listening too. That and, sometimes people simply don't share your taste in music. Disable auto-play, change the font to a more readable colour.
Thank you for participating!

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
At first glance, the section positions and background seem the most original. The "summer time" theme I have seen before but the use of the colors and the beautiful sandy beach type image are unique to this profile.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I honestly can't say that I've seen this "layout" on a Current type profile before but it does look quite similar to most classic layouts.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
I'm sorry to say that I was unable to find any contact links in this profile at all.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
To be honest, the brightness of the background made the text almost "fade" in comparison. It was a bit difficult to read the text.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The profile contains no relevant (in my opinion) information about the user.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile seems a bit underdone in my opinion. It feels empty and the content itself makes it only more so.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The creator did make use of lyrics from a song in their "about" section. It may have been an even "nicer" touch to add said song into their playlist. =)
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
I can't say that the profile seems "co-ordinated" in any way. It is a bit too empty to really find any pattern or theme overall.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The use of the blue undertone in the profile images and text definitely clash with the profile, then the playlist itself is in a dark red that seems to just pop out of nowhere.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
There were a few "redundant" and "useless" code within the profile coding the only "error" I really caught though was the use of the century gothic font without the single quotes wrapped around it.
Generally, when calling anything with a specific name (a font or even a url) if there is a space in the name, it could be ignored. In the case of fonts it will be ignored. To fix this, you just wrap the name of the font in single quotation marks.
Example:
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I'll say that the profile could have been better done, it seriously lacked content though. The idea was great and the colors though a bit "different" would have also been used better. Overall the profile just doesn't feel like it was done to the best of the creator's ability.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
I would have to say, the code. Though not perfect (noone's code is), it was done to standard and didn't have any major errors.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would change the color scheme and the coordination of the images and content (and add more content) to the profile.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 3.5
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The profile definitely shows the signs of the theme being in mind when making the profile but overall. It wasn't presented as well as it could have been.

I really liked the idea that I saw from this theme. It looks like a beautiful mold that can only get better. My issue was firstly, the huge lack of content. Even if you filled the profile with just filler information, the friendslist is empty which is makes it look extremely unbalanced. In all you only have three visible sections, one of which is empty. The playlist also seems to spill out of its "boundary" in Firefox. The top image (and the colors used) just don't seem to fit very well. Especially being that this was a "current" type profile there could have been a vast amount of content placed in without the pains that "Classic" type users take. I have to input though that since your profile didn't have all the sections specified (looking at your code) there was no need to set the display of none to most of the sections that you set. I really liked the idea but the theme and the content just seem a bit lacking overall. Keep working on it though, this profile would be beautiful with the right efforts. =)

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
Definitely original.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The placement of the sections is similar to many profiles I have seen in my time, but never have I seen it on a v2 profile.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
This profile doesn't seem to have those functionalities, though I can fully understand why.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
The light blue text upon the picture of glistening water is hard to read at the middle and end, but otherwise it's fine.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Not really, just a poem in the 'about me', probably to fill up space and give off meaning to those who read it.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
In my opinion... sadly no. Nothing really gives it that 'pop' as per se.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The songs definitely fit the theme, that's for sure in my opinion. smile
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
In general, yes.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
I'll admit, yes. Though the header is to be one main focal point, there is no continuation of light blue brushes flowing down to the bottom portion of the profile, one might assume.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
One coding issue I would definitely fix (though it looks fine) is the size of the media player to fit the size of the box it is in.
And there is some slightly unneeded space at the bottom, so I assume that one may fix the height of that.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes, for it is clear where everything is.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The choice of music.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would have definitely saved the background image in PNG instead of JPEG, to have better image quality.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7/10
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
This profile is definitely fit for the round. The main color of orange chosen has got me back into the summer mood. cool

To put it simply:
+ To the choice of music
+ To the summery colors
+ The images of the girls do signify 'hotness'
+ For slight foolery on my part. I almost mistook it as an Old School, when it is actually a v2
- Background image could have been saved as PNG to preserve image quality

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
Seems pretty original.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The layout doesn't strike me as very original.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
At first, I thought that the "girls of summer" silhouettes at the top were links to add, trade, etc., but upon looking over the whole profile, I couldn't find any contact buttons.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
What little actual text there is is barely readable; the blue text is difficult to read -- the text could be black and still match the color scheme, while being readable.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Not that I noticed.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Looks like it "could be" full of personality, but it seems really empty, like it never reached its full potential.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The "girls of summer" theme is pretty creative, and I think the silhouettes are a nice touch, but so much more could have been done with this profile.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Everything seems to relate to a central theme.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
Nothing seems to overtly disrupt the flow.

_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The potential of the overall theme.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
As mentioned above, the profile does not live up to its full potential; it looks incomplete, like it's a cool outline in a coloring book just begging to be colored in.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 5
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The profile fits the hotness theme in that it alludes to summertime, and beaches.

#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The profile theme is definitely original. I have not seen a dessert themed profile before.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The "layout" itself I have seen many times before.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Sorry to say that I was unable to find any contact "links" anywhere on this profile.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text is remarkably easy to read. Espeically seeing as it is white. It seems to almost fall into place. My eyes almost register them as "clouds" (apart of the theme) and I just love it.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Unfortunately I see no information about the user in the profile at all.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Honestly, this profile is remarkable. It makes use of simplicity being its key aspect while staying "fresh".
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
This profile definitely stands out because of its remarkable use of graphic design, placement and color usage. The fox at the side was a cute touch. The music only compliments the overall simple and clean cut style of the profile.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
I have to admit that the entire profile just seems to match almost perfectly. There is nothing I can complain about visually. It just appeals the visual and auditory senses.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
I can't really find anything in the profile theme that clashes with the profile "flow" at all. Very well executed and very well done.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I wasn't able to find any coding issues within the profile, there were a number of redundant codes but nothing major. There was one unnessicary line of code however
If you aren't going to specify a value to a line of code (or a propery value) then it would be better not to call it at all.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Oh yes, the profile was beautifully put together. I loved it from a graphical point of view. It made use of different images but collaborated them in a way that just shocked and awed.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
In my opinion, the best feature of the profile was the overall asthetics.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?

#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
I think the profile hits the "hotness" theme spot on. It would be hard to come closer to hot than a fox in the dessert heat. =D

Overall, I loved the profile. It was remarkably done visually. My one issue with this profile is the HUGE lack of content. I can feel the soul and love poured into this profile to make it what it is but, without the content itself it seems to me like building the the walls to a room but leaving the roof off. Understandably, it is just "filler" content but when your profile focuses on literally only one section a "filler" just can't cut it. =( I thouroughly enjoyed the visual, auditory and theme. Just give me more content next time. A paragraph or two to read. Something to give it that extra personalized touch. wink I have to add in, although the music was beautiful, autoplay is definitely a downside on any profile to me.

#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
This profile holds a little personality. To me, on the bottom layer of the background it almost appears as if the little fox trotted along the desert (there are tiny tracks!) and hopped into the creators profile for a rest. The calm music adds nicely to the profiles environment.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
No.

No.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
Because of the profiles simplicity, there are no noteable issues with the coding. There is, however, a lot of redundancy with the use of "display:none;"
I recommend creating an area called /*Display none*/ then doing the following with all sections you do not want to be displayed. The example from your code follows:
Instead of all sections having their own separate display:none; you could combine them (using commas) to help tidy things up.

#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?

Added information about the fox and the image itself is definitely a plus. Having 2 images of the desert reflect upon one another also helps to develop the theme.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Everything matches beautifully.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
None really.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
Nope! None really, except I would have put a long line of selectors separated by commas and then their {display:none;} afterwards to help lessen the amount of lines of coding.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The information about the Fennec Fox shown. Educational and a focal point at the same time, something you don't see everyday for the summer xd .
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
The autoplay on the media, though this is one of those rare profiles with fitting music. I would have added contact and comment tab-like buttons to the left side, but it is fine as is.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 9/10
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Desert = Heat = Hotness = Perfect for this round.

+ Fox and info about fox is focal point
+ Music adds desert touch of heat, mirages, and hotness
+ There is a play/pause button clearly seen on the profile
+/- Could add contact/comment tabs, but it's fine as is.

#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Doesn't seem to bear any, but I can understand why.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Definitely.

No, for it is put on a mule.

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The theme does seem quite original I can't say I've seen it before.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The sections seem to be arranged very familiarly. I have seen it a number of times before but it does have a twist to this particular use of the positionings.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The links are placed at the top of the sections and are very easily found. =)
#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text is very easy to read. The use of the "shades" with the text is especially a plus. I absolutely love that. =)
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The profile does contain an ample amount of information about the user.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile seems impressive in my opinion. I love the concept of the profile although I still think that it could use some work. =)
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The use of the "online" and "offline" bar image matches the profile very well. The butterflies are an "awesome" addition to any "Garden" =D
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Although the color of the "about me" section seemed a bit random, everything else seemed to be colored appropriately.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The only thing that really clashed with the main theme was the "offline" image. Everything else seems to flow very nicely.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
While I couldn't find any prominent coding errors in the profile there were quite a number of redundant code that I caught. Nothing serious of course.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
The profile seems very well structured but I think the "idea" the user was going for was not able to shine through as well as it could. The profile needs a bit of work still but it is nicely done. =)
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best feature of this profile would have to be the color scheme used. It is very well used.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
If I had to, I would probably change the "color" of the Gaia Logo (since the background for the header is transparent) and I would definitely add more content. =)
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 4
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
I can't say that the theme matches the "hotness" theme at all. I don't see any relation to anything "hot" or "heat" at all.

Firstly, I'd like to say that you have come a long way from the last profile I saw from you Woolie. I love the new changes, the inclusion of a more versatile color scheme and the overall theme seems a bit more refined. The issue(s) that I come across now is/are that: The first thing that I noticed was that there was a "moon" in a bright sky. While I really love the use of the moon and sun for your "offline" and "online" status, I really think you should have used the section to cover the "entire" background and have a "night sky" and a "day sky" on it. It would have added just a bit more complexity to the profile in my opinion. I think that since you made the "gaia_header" background transparent, that it would have looked better if you used a transparent background (with a colored logo itself) on the profile so that you wouldn't see the "black" on the logo. While I really love that the contact links themselves stay in place now wink The butterflies still move as you dynamically resize the window. =) I am a content lover as well as an avid reader. So I eat up every sentence in a profile and I have to say that although you do provide ample "content" in your about section. I feel that there could be even more maybe in a "custom section" or via other means. I just want more sections to look at and they should be placed in a way that doesn't feel awkward to the viewing eye. Finally and this is the one thing that bothered me the most. What is a garden without the flowers? =( I really think that some "grass" and "flowers" could have done amazing things with this profile. Overall it was a great attempt but I don't think it came out to the best that it could have been made. Keep working on it, I only see better improvements as time passes and great job! =)

#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
I have seen similar themes, but the avatar art allows the profile to stay slightly original.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I have not seen a layout with an arrangement completely similar to this.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Yes. All working, and easily accessible.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Yes. The about section has a type up on the user and their account status is also available.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
With the majority of the graphics being made in paint, besides the avatar art and the sizing of some sections slightly odd I have to say no to the first 3. It does however, hold a somewhat of a "warm/ cute" personality.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
There is a visitor counter in the about section which is interesting, and the online offline status being a sun and moon is an interesting aspect.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
Yes, mostly. The dark moon for offline status breaks slightly away from the summer theme. A setting sun might have been more in line with the intended theme.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The dark blue moon and black background of the Gaia logo disrupt the flow slightly. The paint graphics to Avatar-art style transition is also somewhat awkward.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I did notice some extra/ added scrolling on the page which didn't seem to serve a purpose. I found it here, at the start of your code:
I'm not entirely sure what you are using height for, but when completely removed or altered to a low number the un-needed scrolling was removed and nothing else seemed to be effected.
There was some unneeded redundancy, but this does not effect the look of the profile.
Even so, removing the redundancy is good practice as it cleans the code up:
Change this:

The same should be done in some areas of comments code. =]
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Some thought defiantly went into the creation and design, but it could defiantly use improvement in some areas. The about section seems to contain a lot of writing and should probably be made larger because of that/
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
Its simple nature. Nothing over the top, not overly clustered, which is nice.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would move the comments section more rightwards so it sits completely on the "Grass", make more room for the about section and add some form of multimedia. For some reason I pictured "music box" type of music playing with this profile...
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 5.7
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
When the user is online (and thus the sun rises), it has a "warm summers day" theme, so yes.

The mixture of paint images and Avatar art doesn't fit amazingly together, and the about size could be larger given the amount of context inside. Even so, it is a nice, soft and simple profile to look at.

#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
There are no parts that overtly clash.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
n/a
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
For the most part.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The color scheme flows very well (especially when viewed in IE), and the avatar art is cute. ^^ The profile is also very simple.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
While simplicity is a good thing for this profile, it is also a bad thing: it seems a bit empty, with too much extra space. A profile this simple might benefit from being a bit more compact. Also, the colors from the avatar art could be incorporated into the overall profile to enhance the color scheme a bit.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 6
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
The profile fits the hotness theme in that it appears to be a bright, sunny, and presumably warm day outdoors...but only when the user is online...! Otherwise, because the moon/sun seems to be a big part of the whole scene, it looks a little strange when the moon is there.

I have seen the overall "outdoor/summer" theme before.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I have seen similar layouts.

The avatar art, and the changing image for online/offline.

It seems original.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I have not seen a V.2 profile quite like this before.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Mail/ Add/ Trade were easily accessible, but the other standard links (Ignore, Add/ View Comments/ View Posts) were not available. Perhaps some of these could go in the Links section?
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Yes, in the about section. Online Status, and other information is not available however.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The design is quite impressive, I admit. The folders for updates/ art is also a neat feature.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The Art/ Updates sections are an interesting special touch. The massive buttons with drop downs on hover are also a clever feature~
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
The main theme seems to be the user himself, his art work, etc and everything does seem relevant to that general theme.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
No. Everything fits together quite well.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." )
Not that I noticed. The coding seems clean and nicely organized.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Yes. It feels lots of thought and skill went into its creation and design.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
Personally, I can't decide between the interactive flash-folders and drop-downs from the large buttons. Both are interesting and unique features.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I'd kind of like to see "Recent Visitors" replaced with basic status information on the user, but that is only a personal preference.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 8.55
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Truth be told, when looking at this profile I think of Halloween due to the black/ orange colour scheme. But the user does provide an explanation on his profile how it fits into the "Hotness" theme (black attracts the sun, and is therefore hot!), so it works. ^^

It would be nice if some of the standard user information (like online status) were available, but besides that I can't think of any suggestions. It's a well designed and unique profile.

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The profile theme is definitely original. I don't believe I have encountered anything like it before.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
The layout seems like a typical Current type profile however. The use of the "header" type images at the top is rather new though and the media beneath adds a whole new layer of "creativity"
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
The Gaia links are easily found and accessible. The way they are implemented are also rather unique.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
The text is indeed quite easy to read.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
The profile contains just enough information about the user, there is even an "updates" section which I hope to see even more from on this particular profile. =)
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
Overall, I feel like this profile is a little bit of old mixed with a little bit of new. It is definitely a good starting point.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
The user implemented some unique as well as creative flash elements to the "header" the "bar type" links and the "updates" section that definitely pushes out from the crowd. I enjoy the "brainstorm" feeling I get from looking at it and I will only be happy to see even more additions to the profile.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
The overall profile seems to take a specific "main" theme however, there could be much more done to make it even better.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The two things that really "break" my focus on the profile are that there is "orange" in the profile on the links (on hover), the background (in smaller resolutions) and the names for the sections. There just isn't enough overall orange used, so it feels like the orange has just been dropped into the profile on those three sections and being that the profile is so dark the orange is a bit bright of a contrast to have it feel like it was pushed in by force.
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
I have absolutely no issues looking through the code. Everything seems well placed and they all seem to serve a purpose. =)
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
I believe the profile shows signs of a great start. It doesn't seem to be completed but I enjoy the idea and I look forward to what is to come.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The best feature of this profile would have to be the flash at the bottom. It is just unique in its own way and it adds to the profile rather than most flash I have seen that "overtake" a profile.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
I would either add a little more orange and blend it a little somehow or I would take the orange out completely. Seeing as how your "bar" seems to beautifully done, I feel like your section headers are lacking greatly. It feels almost neglected. I don't like the "use" of your name being where the bar is. I enjoy the hovers, but I think your name should be ltr instead of utd (made that up on the spot: up to down) and should be above the bar links instead of next to them.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
I don't think this theme matches the "hotness" theme in any way. It is well executed and well made but it has nothing to do with "hotness"

I'd love to say that the coding was beautiful. I really love seeing code that just seems "fit" to be in a presented piece of work. I am not a huge fan of monochrome however so maybe you could find a way to blend that orange in a bit more. The use of the orange seems a bit forced and uncoordinated with the entire profile concept in my opinion. I really loved the bar at the top but I think your name should be above it and on a horizontal line instead of vertically stacked. I am sad that even with the creative use of the bar, the rest of the content just seems like any other profile I've seen in Current. It was really disheartening but, I hope that this profile gets even better and that your creative juices don't stop flowing. For just learning CS4, I have to say that it is a very impressive use of flash that you made yourself even better. This profile is definitely a keeper, keep refining it and I am sure it'll be the most talked about. wink

The hovers up at top as the focal point.

Yep, everything matches up well.

The orange headers for each of the panels could be flaired abit, or at least a larger font size.

No coding mistakes whatsoever, as I see.

Just the orange colored headers to be flaired abit more. And then there's the other extra stuff that could be added... twisted The right part of the gaiaonline header could have also been longer so the Sign Out link would fit, unless it was by intention that the Recommend link is there to... you know ninja

Please look at originality:
#1--At first glance, does the theme of this profile strike you as "original," or have you seen this theme before?
The profile comes across as somewhat original. I have seen a lot of black profiles.
#2--Have you seen the layout, (the way the sections are arranged), many times before?
I have not seen this exact layout before.
Please look at functionality:
#3--Can you access the standard Gaia links easily? (PM, Ignore, Add/View Comments, etc.)
Yes.
#4--Is the text easy to read?
Yes.
#5--Does the profile contain information about the user?
Lots.
Please look at creativity:
#6--Take a look around the entire profile. In your opinion, does the profile seem "new," "impressive," "fresh," or "full of personality"?
The profile comes across as fresh to me; despite the plain black background.
#7--Has the creator added any special touches to make the profile stand out among the rest?
There are many special touches, such as the huge buttons at the top, and the flash at the bottom. Also, the tail/trail on the cursor is fun.
Please look at technique/style:
#8--Does everything (headers/fonts/multimedia/backgrounds/etc.) seem to relate to or match the implied main theme?
See below.
#9--Are there parts of the profile that clash with the main theme or disrupt the "flow" of the profile?
The huge orange section seems to clash. I think the profile may have looked better with the orange more evenly distributed throughout the profile, instead of black, black, black...pa-pow-orange-in-yo-face!
#10--Are there any coding issues you noticed that if corrected would make the profile better? (If you do not know, answer "N/A." wink
There seems to be at least a couple issues with the multimedia boxes at the bottom: when scrolling, they cover the gaia-links at the top, and there seems to be no way to get out of the updates once you get in; the flash for the "Art" section allows you to go back, but the updates does not allow you to go back.
Please look at structure:
#11--Is the profile put together well overall?
Overall, the profile looks good for an attempt at trying something "new", like flash.
_____________________________________________________________
#12--What is the best feature of this profile?
The personalization, such as the cursor, the buttons and the hover effects.
#13--What would you change about the profile? Anything you don't like?
Mentioned above.
#14--Look over the whole profile one more time. What is your overall rating for the entire profile, with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best?
YOUR RATING = 7.5
#15--The theme for this round is "Hotness." How well does this profile fit the theme for this round?
Even though the profile does not seem to obviously relate to hotness, the colors orange and black to have a relation with the word, but I think the colors could have been incorporated a little better.
