This is a Charity Interest Thread. Once sufficient interest is generated and beta requirements are met the charity will open in beta mode. There will be a few events here and there before beta so stay tuned. I'd love to hear your feedback on the charity concept!

I wanted something light and fun that would keep the boredom at bay, open opportunity to build an active community and allow me to be charitable to others. Enter Kindred Hearts. My end goal for this charity is very lofty so realistically it's not something that I can do on my own. Even if I could I wouldn't want to. I've put down all the information that's been firing off in my brain and I'd like to hear what Gaians have to say about it. As for the grand vision of this charity project, see below:

Campaigns

Contributors

I want to create an army for charity. A team of ten people contributing can easily make the impossible possible. That's how many volunteers I'll need to get started. If you'd like to become a beta contributor go here for more details!

10 x 10,000p = 100,000p in one day. In five days that's 500,000p. In ten days it's 1,000,000p.

Nothing strenuous on the contributors but makes all the difference when donated to a Gaian's quest or a as a completed fundraiser for the scheduled Calendar Events.

Numbers can easily be reworked depending on the quest campaign/event and how many contributors have signed up. I plan to recruit as many Gaians as possible until this is the number one charity on Gaia. Our strength will be in numbers, hence the Brigadiers theme.

Beta Opening

Opening the charity in beta status in April on Easter Day (4/17/2022) would be ideal. It's a rabbit holiday after all. I'm hesitant to do so without having ten contributors signed up. In the meantime, I'm working on obtaining the funds to support the Calendar Events. The numbers featured on the Calendar are low right now but they won't be forever. Kindred Hearts Charity will seek to donate platinum, items, Kindred, Gaia Cash and even RLC that Gaians can use to support their Gaiaonline habits or spend however they see fit. I want to break Gaia with goodness, determination and strategy.

Grand Opening

The Grand Opening will only take place when I've gathered 100-1,000 beta contributors.

100 x 10,000p = 1,000,000p/day. 5,000,000p/5 days. 10,000,000p/10 days.

1,000 x 10,000p = 10,000,000p/day. 50,000,000p/5 days. 100,000,000p/10 days.

That's a lot of people to manage all at once, so I'll be looking out for Contributor Generals to help me with all this. Every contributor general will have a guild, a guild mule, and will be responsible for managing the contributions of 100 contributors. Members of their guild will be assigned to the general's standard, coat of arms, theme, etc for differentiating of the guilds.

Generals, their guilds, and the contributors they oversee will have the option of having in-world roleplay presence. Contributor generals will have exclusive access to create one Rexwing. Rexwings are essentially Lopwing with legendary status as they have obtained descendance from the venerable great dragon Skyon. Contributor Generals are considered staff so you'll get whatever perks come with that as well. Open to RLC pay amount.

Events and Prizes

Presently, every calendar month 150,000p will be given away through Weekly Flaffles and Monthly Flaffles. This is the Base Giveaway Capacity for the charity. One that, so long as I operate alone, I can comfortably supply to the charity. The idea is to increase this amount via events so that every month is a flurry of high quality giveaways. Calendar Events are how the charity will advertise itself.

Lake Kindred Capsules are a staple rig item prize as they are easy to obtain in great quantities. While not the newest and most desired rigs on the market they are still fun to open and give decent items often enough.

Fluffkin

Kindred Hearts is not a breedables/changeables shop but we do offer adoptables! Kinkai are supernatural creatures that inhabit the Hylands which can be tamed. Obtaining one of these kinkai adopts, called a Fluffkin, through a chance based taming event is part of the "story" progression. Certain events will also require kinkai to participate in.

For right now, Fluffkin are the only obtainable kinkai and I'm open to outsourcing sprite artwork for them. They are inspired by the Fluff item from Gaia. I would prefer a sprite set having twenty five different types and a wide array of faces for personality expression. Design wise, concepts, size and looks vary greatly.

Donating

If you'd like to donate to the cause please send a trade labeled Donation to the shop mule Kindred Hearts Charity. Your name will be remembered and you'll be listed in a special group of beta donators. Unless you prefer to remain anonymous! The same applies for those who want to come on board as a beta contributor/beta contributor general. There will be exclusive beta events that only this group of people will qualify for.

How many times can I win?
There are no cooldowns or restrictions on how many events you can join and prizes that you can win. This is unlikely to ever change for chance based events.

Can I submit an art quest campaign?
Yes. Art quests are still quests after all and you can use the funds donated to you however you see fit.

Can I be an anonymous contributor?
Absolutely! For simplicity's sake you will be featured on the front page contributor list, but you'll be able to engage in campaigns anonymously by corresponding with the Kindred Hearts Charity shop mule via Private Messages.

How are Gaia Cash winnings distributed?
There are two ways. The first would be Ciupii purchasing a gift card and then giving you those details to convert to Gaia Cash from this page. If for some reason that fails, then you will be guided to put a junk item up for trade on the marketplace. The Gcash Purchasable option should have a blue checkmark by it. Make sure the sell price of the junk item converts to the right Gcash amount. The Kindred Hearts Charity or Ciupii will buy the junk item with Gcash.

How are $RLC winnings distributed?
All transactions will be conducted via Cash App.

Do I have to make a character?
While roleplay is encouraged, the charity was built with the average Gaian in mind. You do not need to make a character or participate in roleplay. The story was created for a first person experience as well.

How many characters can I have?
Kindred Hearts is not a breedables/changeables shop. You do not "own" characters as they are free to create and not given out by the shop in any capacity. However, some restrictions apply to allowed species. You can make as many characters as you like but for Brigadiers specifically you will have to follow the Playbook progression.

Does my character have to be a Brigadier?
No, they do not.

Can my brigadier character start as a Lopwing?
Yes, they can begin as a Lopwing native but the Story progression remains the same.

Can my character be a species that isn't human or a Lopwing?
Yes, at least initially. Your character will still transform into a Lopwing but they are allowed to maintain characteristics of their previous species, like a hybrid. So for example a Vampire would become a Blood Bunny. The Hylands are the ancestral lands of the Lopwings for millennia and because of this foreigners have the uncanny experience of being transformed into bunnies. All hybrid species are subject to approval to maintain balance in-world.

Where can I get artwork?
Kindred Hearts does not have art staff for the purpose of creating character artwork. You can check out the Art Shops, Art Auctions, Art Freebies and Art Requests forums here on Gaiaonline to find an artist to draw your character. If you don't have enough funds you can always open an art quest campaign. You can also look offsite in places like Deviantart.

How many Fluffkin can I own?
You can own as many as you like provided you can tame them.

Can I change/evolve/breed my Fluffkin?
In-world you may, but this is not a feature of the charity as we are not a breedables/changeables shop. Fluffkin are essentially adoptables.

Will this charity ever become a breedables/changeables shop?
Most likely no. It's up for debate, but as of right now no and probably for a long, long time no. Also, even if it did Kindred Hearts would strictly remain a charity while the B/C would be a branch shop.

Your level of contribution to Kindred Hearts Charity is up to you. For all that you give you will receive something in return.

Calendar Campaigning
For every calendar event that you take responsibility to raise funds for you will receive credits. If you campaign for one weekly flaffle of 25,000p that will earn you 5 credits. The 2.5 credits you received are given a matching bonus of 2.5 reward credits as an incentive. You can sign up for Calendar Campaigns in this thread.

Inbound Campaigning
In-charity campaigns are a group effort where multiple contributors will tackle a single quest from the guild. There will be up to fourteen campaigns featured in the Campaign Masterlist for you to sign up for. Only 10,000p is required per campaign signed up for.

Outbound Campaigning
Out-of-charity campaigning is when a single contributor or a group of contributors tackle a quest from the Charity/Quests forum. For more information check out the Outbound Campaign Masterlist.

One ticket per participant sign up. Flaffles are the most common event around here, being featured on a weekly basis.
