Shop Etiquette

Terms of Service, Profile Violations, Mini Shops Rules and Regulations

I'm pretty easy to get along with. At minimum, be cordial when interacting with me, my customers, and my visitors.
In short, I keep records of all of my work. Do not claim my personalized layout graphics or profile codes as your own work.
I reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders with supplied reasoning.

Transactions
In order to receive a profile code:
Post an order request.
I will approve the request or ask questions to clear up any possible issues.
If your order is accepted, send a trade with your offer.
Once I have a Work In Progress (WIP), I will quote you with a link to your exhibit.
When I am done, I will have you confirm that you are happy with the final product.
Your code will be PMed as soon as the trade is complete.

Profile Specifications

Fonts

It is generally best to commit to using only two fonts. A third may be permissible depending on the profile design.
Feasible options: Open Font Library and Google Fonts
Some Open Font Library fonts don't work. I will update you on a case by case basis.
I can and will use fonts from other websites if they are to be used for a couple of headers or other decorative text.

Images
Any and all images require permission for reuse from the original owner.
Images in the public domain are free to use without additional permission. I would still double check any images found on these sites to make sure they can be used freely. Public Domain Image Sources
While limited in quality, I can also use Google images that have been filtered through Tools > Usage Rights > Labeled for reuse with modification
No special permission is needed if I am only providing coding services (you provide the graphics) or if you have earned a free profile.

Media
NOTE: I am most familiar with YouTube.
The first step to having media on your profile is to actually add a media panel.
Media panels are useful for adding games and interactive widgets, in addition to music.

What is the "Dashboard" all about?

The Dashboard is my center of operations. This allows me a quick way to get to a profile order I am working on but it also gives you (the customer) a way to check on the status of your order. The exhibits correspond to the live samples listed in my shop. Accepted orders that are waiting to be worked on will be listed as "on deck" to the exhibit where I will display them. The waitlist displays customers who are in line for a profile.

Can I have my profile for free?

I do have a promotion: buy three profiles, get one free. If you do not wish to spend any gold on a profile, perhaps you should check out Gaia Tools for a free layout. Gaia Tools also offers a BBCode text colorize tool, random image generator (RIG), and a profile theme builder.

What is the timeline like to get a new profile?

After accepting your order, I usually take up to two days to compile graphics for. It takes me about a day to code the profile. Since I usually have customers already at the time of your order, this is all delayed by however long it takes to get to your profile. If your request is unclear to me, the delay will be longer. I will ask questions before I get to your request in order to cut down some of the wait time.

Can I skip the line and have my profile sooner?

Only if you are willing to bribe me or your profile is less difficult to code. I generally expedite profile maintenance and repair requests since they tend to make for quick work.

Why won't you hide my media completely?

A visitor should have the option to stop and start the music for various reasons: perhaps their sound levels were not appropriate for their surroundings; the visitor is just not in the mood to listen to music; or they are already listening to other music or someone else.

Could you make me a BBCode post/profile layout?

While I did make my own post layout for this shop, I put the research and work into creating my post layout because I wanted it to be to my exact style and liking. A professional post layout shop would have canceled my order or upcharged me for all the changes I made in the process. BBCode roleplaying profile layouts are an extension of post layouts and a field I have not even considered. In either case, you will want to try finding an actual graphics shop.
