My dad was diagnosed in 2015 with colon cancer and we thought he might not see his 50th birthday. He had surgery done and has been cancer free for almost 2 years now.

my brother had developed polyps in his colon and had to go to the hospital for that, before he developed cancer.
My mum's friend's mum has colon cancer and recently underwent an operation for it. I'm hoping she recovers fully.

My mother was in her 40's when she was diagnosed and died from colon cancer. The doctors at first thought she had irritable bowel syndrome and were reluctant to do a colonoscopy. By the time it was discovered it had already spread to other organs.

Wish my father would get checked for this! His bowel health is horrible...

My uncle who has a history of Crohn's disease was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He had to have surgery at 4pm pacific time 04/05/17 and had the whole colon removed, his daughter said it was an ileostomy. I just know that he has a bag right now and if all goes well next year he will have the option of having his small intestine attached to where basically so he won't need the bag anymore.

He survived the surgery & is in the hospital currently recovering and in time will get to go home.

My dad was diagnosed in 2001 with end stage cancer. He also had a bag attached for the rest of his life. He managed to live for ten years when his cancer came back in 2011 as brain cancer and spread everywhere.

He died in 2011 and I wish so much those ten years were spent differently. He survived the impossible so we thought he would live forever.

I'm getting real emotional sharing this. Lots of love and good vibes for everyone affected including family like us.

I'm posting here for Daddy (his photo is a link in my signature). He would have been 70 this May 6, but lost his fight to Colon and Metastatic cancer nearly 10 years ago. I miss him deeply, but I know he's no longer suffering; I just pray that everyone knows just how dangerous cancer can be no matter what form. emotion_bigheart
