ABOUT

Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in a man's prostate — a small walnut-shaped gland that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men. Prostate cancer usually grows slowly and initially remains confined to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious harm. While some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or no treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly.

Prostate cancer that is detected early — when it's still confined to the prostate gland — has a better chance of successful treatment.

I lost my Dad two years ago to prostate cancer and it still tears me up inside. I just had to post. He was a great, hardworking family man. He was my superhero and every day he deteriorated he took a little piece of me with him. I miss the jokes we used to share and the lame movies we would watch together. It's just not the same without him. I think about him every night when I go to sleep and I miss him more and more every day. Please know that I am thinking about you if you know anyone with prostate cancer. It's absolutely horrible. I'm very happy for all the people that have prostate cancer survivors. Don't take it for granted and tell your loved ones that you love them everyday. You never know when you won't be able to tell them again.

Makes me so sad, I wish only good thoughts and comfort for you. My grandpa has prostate cancer right now and it has slowly spread through his body. We all know and have come to terms with the fact that his death is coming soon but it is so hard to talk with him and keep him comforted when he believes he is still going to get better crying

I'm so sorry that you're going through this, love. I wish you all the good vibes in the world. My father had surgery and they didn't get it all. They removed his prostate and did radiation. It spread to his lymphatic system then to his spine and eventually to his brain. He lived with it for 12 years or more. ): He was so full of life until the last two months. I think he thought he was going to get better, then he just went downhill so fast... He was in a medicated coma for five days and finally left his misery. I miss him so much and it kills me everyday that I couldn't visit him more in the hospital because I'm so sickly... I didn't want to make him worse. v.v I can just say spend all the time you can with him and remember everything you can. It doesn't matter how much you think you're prepared for it to be over. It cuts you deep and my wound is still bleeding. ; ;

I lost my Daddy to Prostate Cancer on January 14, 2016. He'd first battled it 5 years earlier and it was treated by removing his prostate. We really thought he beat it. He was diagnosed again in December of 2015, end stage. He was given 6 months. He died a month to the day after his bone scan. I am an older Gaian (42) so my Dad is going to look really old to y'all. He died a week after his 83rd birthday. He was 15 years older than my Mom.

Dad was a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel. His career life spanned working for NASA and the Oregon Department of Justice. He was honorable, honest, hard working and a devoted family man. I never, NEVER heard my Dad swear or yell. He is so very deeply missed.

That's what happened with my grandpa, he had surgery and went through radiation when they didn't get everything. Over the last few years it has spread and he has gotten so weak. He is so stubborn and believes he will make it through but my mom and I try to go see him and my grandmother every weekend or every other weekend to help out around the house and see if they need anything. I'm so so so sorry you had to go through that... All my love to you. heart heart heart Thank you for sharing.

I'm glad you go and see him whenever you can. I know what you mean tho. My dad thought he was invincible. It's a man thing I believe. I do hope that a miracle befalls you and your family. ); Thank you for the love. I don't mind sharing. I remember when he got home from his surgery and I walked in the living room to see him and he was crying. It broke my heart into a million pieces to see the strongest person in my entire life breaking down in front of me. It's rough and it takes a strong person to still have a great sense of humor even with that chaos going inside their body and mind. All of my love and support to you and your family. heart

I lost my Grandpa in December after his prostate cancer metastasized to his kidneys and hip in July. He wasn't one for sentimentality but I'll write something about him a bit later when I get to my computer

but you have to take the tests sometimes. also it turns out masturbating can help prevent it.
