Way back in 2010 and 2011, the problems with the parser were brought to the Gaia staff on a technical level, not just a "Yo, this is broken and this is what it does." These included both some pretty extensive examples of how the
parser is broken and how
emoji parsing was altered. I did read over your Introduction post, so I will not press you for answers, but I would like to see if you've at least considered going back and finishing the projects.
The new parser was actively being developed at the time by, I think CarbonPhyber, and
Panagrammic before they left the site.
That's three unique threads with developer attention, by the way. I don't recall who the developer was in the emoji thread, but I do recall talking to a developer in it. They aren't employed by you now either. :c
As an unrelated question for you personally, if you don't mind:
Do you think you'll try to restore Gaia to it's former days? Or do you want to see if it's a new culture than the one you developed and cater to the new generation of your baby? I am honestly curious, not a loaded question.
