09/07/14 - I finally have access to a functioning computer again, but while I try and get my s**t organized the shop will be on official hiatus. Personally, I would like to find somebody willing to take over the reins of the shop, as in organizing/planning events, coloring for and running their own sales and customs, etc. I would request to be able to still run my own customs and sales when I want to, but ideally finding someone else to do the work while I mostly just draw would work best I think.
While I figure out exactly how I'm going to go about this, don't expect much to be happening in-shop (not like anything was going on anyway)
Thank you all for your patience. If you are waiting on a custom or a growing, please PM merangue with the information and I will get it done as soon as I can.
12/08/14 - Since it has been mentioned, there is now a new subforum in the guild for Quest Pokémon and such, or just keeping track of your ideas.

General Information
How do I get a Pokémon?
There are a variety of ways to get a Pokémon in this shop. The most common will be flatsales, but there will also be customs, RP events, minigames, breeding, and much more.
OK, but I want one NOW
You're gonna have to be patient. The staff here at Legacy will do their best to provide a wide variety and amount of Pokémon for you, but you have to realize we do have lives outside of Gaia
So-and-so got a Pokémon for free, why can't I get one for free?
Some people who the staff thinks deserve it, or who are helping out with the shop, will have access to free Pokémon, but there will also be plenty of in-thread and event opportunities for others to get free Pokémon as well! If you hang around in the thread a lot, you never know what might fall into your lap.
Is there a limit to how many Pokémon a person can own?
There is no limit to how many Pokémon you can own, or to how many of a single breed of Pokémon you can own. You want an army of Bidoofs? Sure, why not! You'd still have to get them, but nobody'd be stopping you lol. If you RP, you can even have your Pokémon assigned to different characters!
Which Pokémon are going to be available?
Currently there are over 100 kinds of Pokémon that had been discovered by our research assistants, but we hope to eventually uncover every kind of Pokémon in the world!
Will all the pokemon of a certain type look the same in coloring, or will they have similar color alterations?
The Pokémon will look the same to a certain degree, but will differ in markings and subtle shades of coloring. the reason the Pokémon in the Pokédex all look like the basic coloration is because they are mostly meant as sample for the Pokémon's general appearance.
Hey! My Pokémon evolved and it's markings changed! What gives?
Just as a person's physical appearance changes as they age, so does a Pokémon's. Markings may change throughout the Pokémon's evolution due to the drastic difference in the appearance of a Pokémon from one stage to the next. The only way to have complete control over the markings in every stage is to have the Pokémon artificially synthesized to your specifications by our on-site team of scientists.
Hey! Eevee doesn't evolve with a shiny stone, what gives?
For ease of getting some evolutions (and to save my hands from having to draw EVERY SINGLE ITEM) I've taken some liberties in terms of what evolves what.
Shiny stone + Eevee = Glaceon
Leaf stone + Eevee = Leafeon
Dusk stone + Dusclops = Dusknoir
Dusk stone + Gligar = Gliscor
Dusk stone + Sneasel = Weavile
I just won a Pikachu in an event/sale/other, can I buy a thunderstone and evolve it right away?
Unfortunately, a Pokémon must be properly bonded to it's trainer before it can be force-evolved with an item. This generally takes around a month.
Are we allowed to have a proxy for the fs/raffle/customs slots/etc?
Yes, with almost every sale, unless it specifically states otherwise, proxies are allowed. If you are proxying, you may proxy for yourself and ONE OTHER PERSON. You may not have multiple proxies for one person, and you may not use mules to circumvent rules that are put in place in events to keep people from gaining an advantage. If it is found that a person basically gained themselves extra entries into an event by using mules, they will be prevented from owning any pets from the shop or participating in events on theirs or another's behalf for an undetermined as of yet amount of time. Please state clearly if and who you are proxying for while participating in an event.
I'm unfamiliar with Pokémon, but I really want to get a custom. Is there a place where I can see the natural and shiny color variants of every Pokémon?
Yes, Psypoke's site has a wonderful Sprite Resource section, where you can view the shiny or normal sprites of each Pokémon.
What is the difference between a shiny pokémon and a shiny hybrid pokémon?
The difference is that a shiny pokémon will have overall shiny color variation; ie, a yellow swablu, with only yellow and white in varying shades on it's body, would be a shiny pokémon. A hybrid pokémon however would have a blend of both natural and shiny colors; ie, a blue swablu (normal color variation) with yellow markings (shiny color variation) would be a hybrid. Fo9r visual examples, this is a standard swablu, this is a shiny swablu, and this is a hybrid swablu.
RP
Are these pets RP mandatory?
No, they are not. Your Pokémon will never be taken away if you don't RP. It would be nice to have you around the shop, but again, not mandatory <3
Do I have to RP for my Pokémon to evolve?
No, although RP will have some perks towards that end, such as faster evolution, and Pokémon that evolve through happiness won't evolve unless they're RPed at least a little bit.
Pokémon that evolve via Happiness: Eevee, Chancey, Golbat, Togepi, Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Azurill, Budew, Buneary, Chingling, Munchlax, Riolu.
Do I need to have a trainer character to RP, or can I just RP as the Pokémon?
You can do whichever you preffer, really, but having a trainer to RP would open up the possibility for battles and exploring, and during some of the in-shop events, having a trainer might just come in handy >w>
Do I need to have a Pokémon to RP?
No, you can RP a trainer/Other character without having to own a Pokémon first, and you never know, they might just find something lurking in the grass...
OMG OMG WHAT'S THE SETTING? I NEED TO KNOW THE WOOOOORLD D8
Dude chill I'm working on it ;A;
I want my trainer's name to be Sasuke and he's so emo and can control Pokémon with his eyes!
Sounds dangerously like a Naruto character. UNFORTUNATELY your Trainer character must be an original creation. There are no cosplays in this shop, that means that you cannot take characters from anime or manga and turn them into Pokémon trainers, and you cannot use characters from the Pokémon anime or manga either.
Do we set up our own journals, or do you set them up for us?
Set up your own journals please <3 Since they aren't mandatory there's no set template for how they should look, so it's up to you entirely.
Can users share a journal if they have plans to do stuff together?
I don't see why not.
Can a user have more than one journal if they have more than one character?
Of course! I think it helps to keep things more organized if you're not trying to shove five different characters into one journal anyway ♥
Are we only allowed to make trainers, or we allowed to make other types of characters, like breeders and reporters and researchers and faction members, ect, ect?
You are allowed to make whichever profession of character you prefer. I use Trainer as a general term because it's easier than adding all those backslashes between every profession, and imo sounded better than 'character'.
For the record, though, you will be listed on your Pokémon's cert as the OT, regardless of the profession of character to which your Pokémon is assigned by you.
Will you have all the factions or just the Rockets? Or some of your own tossed in there too?
Currently there is only Team Rocket, with lilwolfpard and Demy Stardust acting as the faction heads in charge of 'recruitment'. If a player wishes to start another faction, they are welcome to ask and will most likely be told sure go ahead. I just don't want the shop to be overrun with Faction Members and hardly any regular characters, ya know?
Breeding
So can I breed my Onix with my Rattata? 8D
Unfortunately (for everybody but the poor rattata) Pokémon can only breed within their egg groups.
Are Legendaries breedable?
Yes, Legendaries are breedable, but only to other Legendaries of the same species.

What determines a Pokémon's Gender?
The Trainer is able to pick the gender for their Pokémon when they pick it's nickname, excepting in cases where the Pokémon only has one gender (such as Jynx, or Miltank). Legendaries can also have genders assigned to them, since they will be breedable in the shop's setting.
Oh hey I have an Igglybuff and I don't want to RP to make it evolve, but I really want to breed it!
Unfortunately, baby Pokémon cannot breed. Baby Pokémon include: Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Tyrogue, Elekid, Magby, Azurill, Wynaut, Budew, Chingling, Bonsly, Mime Jr., Happiny, Munchlax, Riolu, and Mantyke.
How come you never have Baby Pokémon for sale in the shop?
That's because baby Pokémon are only available through breeding or random egg events.
I only own one Pokémon, and I can't find anybody else who wants to breed theirs with mine, what can I do?
It just so happens that our local Breeder keeps a Ditto on hand for just such an occasion! Of course, breeding one-sided with the Breeder's Ditto results in less eggs for you to take home, but if you're really wanting to breed it, you have the option of doing so.
You keep talking about about a higher chance for eggs, or less eggs if you do something else, how many eggs do you get from a breeding?
-For a regular breeding, you'll typically receive two eggs.
-If the Pokémon are RPed will typically have three or very rarely four eggs. They don't have to be RPed together, just RPed in general. Trained Pokémon are stronger and healthier, and so can produce more eggs.
-Pokémon that are paired with the Breeder's Ditto will typically produce one egg for the Trainer to take home with them.
Will the Pokémon I get from a breeding always be the same species as the mother, like in the games?
No, Pokémon bred in our facilities will always have a 50% chance of being either parent-Pokémon's species. This means that if you breed a Kangaskhan and a Lickitung, you could end up with two Lickitungs, two Kangaskhans, or one of each.
So if I breed my ___ to the shop's Ditto, I could end up with a Ditto egg?
No. Ditto is non-dominant in any pairing, so the egg you receive will be the same species as the Pokémon you're breeding to the Ditto.
Huh. So, if I breed a Ditto to the shop's Ditto do I get a Ditto?
Also no. Because Ditto is so unstable, they cannot breed true. The only way to acquire a Ditto will be through shop events.
If I breed two of my own Pokémon, do I get to keep all the eggs?
It is preferable that you only keep one egg per breeding, but hey it's your Pokémon. The only stipulation we have for the distribution of eggs is that you are not allowed to sell them. You may keep them, give them away, hold a contest, etc, but not sell for profit.
If I breed a Pokémon that has unique art, will it's offspring also have unique art?
Unfortunately not. Unique-art Pokémon are generally the result of special events, so it would be somewhat unfair for them to pop up from breedings. That, and it's a helluva lot more work.

Please do not take, use, or modify the art without express permission. The only exception to this is making a sig/image with a pet you own from the shop.
Please try to be respectful to everybody in the thread.
I'd really like it if everybody would turn their posting styles off. Nobody cares about your German quotes and favorite anime character pictures, they can go in your sig like they're supposed to.
Do not PM the staff for any reason without prior consent. There is a shop mule for a reason.
Please do not beg for things in the shop. Passive aggressive hinting and comments about how slow your Pokémon evolves or whining about your luck in raffles or other events is also not tolerated very well. We try to provide opportunities for everyone to get some Pokémon, but we can't make everybody happy at the same time.
Payment for services such as breeding or flatsales is due within 24 hours of purchase. If payment isn't received, the service or pet in question will go back up for sale, unless you've stated beforehand that you won't be available during that time period.
At this time, the breeding facilities do not contain the necessary technology to enable same sex breedings.
Refunds will only be given for good reason. If you simply decide you no longer wish to own the Pokémon in question, you may re-home it, or give it to the shop for a free re-homing, but we will never take a Pokémon away from you that you have bought and paid for.
You are, under NO CONDITIONS, allowed to re-sell your Pokémon for profit, or to sell eggs obtained in a breeding. They may be given out in free events, but you are not to make a profit off of somebody else's work.
Please do not PM the shop mule or merangue asking for character or other art. If I'm doing commissions or freebie work I'll be advertising, but right now I'm really just too busy catching up on other stuff and working on the shop, and since I really hate saying no, I'll just ask you not to ask to begin with =w=;;;
Yes GPX is an awesome site and I'm horridly addicted to clicking those little pokéEggs, but please do not link your pokémon/eggs in your posts. Gaia considers this spam outside of the chatterbox, and I wouldn't want your posts to get reported by some asshat with nothing better to do. Plus it kind of goes hand in hand with the turn your annoying post styles off rule.
Mostly, though, just use your common sense.

Flatsales
Flatsales will be announced ahead of time.
Flatsales will typically follow either a flaffle or speed format, but occasionally will include dice games or doodle contests.
Unless otherwise stated, flatsale price for a Pokémon is 4k, and payment must be sent within 24 hours of winning, or the Pokémon will be given to another Trainer.
Co-owning is NOT ALLOWED. Pokémon can only be bonded to one Trainer.
For most flatsales, proxying will be allowable.
Upcoming Flatsales and Events
FLAFFLE PREVIEW and INFO!
Raffles
Raffles will be announced ahead of time, and held in the guild.
Tickets will either be free, or 100g per ticket.
For free raffles, it will be a limit of one ticket per person. For paid raffles, the tickets will be unlimited.
You may keep, or give away the pet you win, but you may not co-own.
Mystery Events
Occasionally there will be a random event in the shop. This could be anything including but not limited to a surprise egg giveaway from the Breeder, an RP event for a newly discovered Pokémon, or a Pokémon catching event or dice matching games for prizes. You'll just have to hang around and see!
Customs

Heh. I see you've got a discerning eye, you want a quality product tailored to your exact specifications. Well I'm certainly the man for the job. I've been dabbling in genetic modification for Pokémon, and I think I've perfected a way to get everything from eye color to markings changed to whatever you desire, within reason of course.
Naturally, there are some Limitations. I can't of course create a Pokémon who's DNA I don't have on file, so this means you can only request Pokémon that have already been discovered.
Since the process is difficult, only one Pokémon per Trainer at a time may be synthesized
I haven't quite worked out how to change the Pokémon's dermis or pelt to colors outside of their natural range, but I heard there's a special item that gets given away once in a while that provides the necessary data for this process to work...
Pricing
Non-Evolving Pokémon♥ - 40,000g
Two-Stage Evolving Pokémon - 80,000g
Three-Stage Evolving Pokémon - 120,000g
Shiny Hybridization♦ - 300,000g
Shiny Non-Legendary Pokémon - 500,000g
Legendary - 1,000,000g base + 100k for each Pokémon of that species already in existence♣
Shiny Hybrid Legendary♦ - 1,300,000g base + 100k for each Pokémon of that species already in existence♣
Shiny Legendary - 1,500,000g base + 100k for each Pokémon of that species already in existence♣
Edits♠ - and additional 5,000g on top of the custom price.
♥A non-evolving Pokémon is either a single-stage Pokémon with no natural evolution, a Pokémon which is already in it's final evolution, or a Pokémon that would normally evolve, but that the owner does not wish to ever evolve. Please note that if you buy a non-evolving Pokémon that would normally evolve, it will come equipped with an everstone, and you will never be able to use any growth item on it, so make sure you know you won't want to evolve it at a later date.
♦Shiny Hybridization occurs when an otherwise normally colored Pokémon exhibits traits or markings of a coloration that would usually be seen only in 'shiny' Pokémon of the same species. For example, a blue Swablu with yellow striping, or a purple Espeon with green socks, etc. Hybrids have a slightly higher chance than standard Pokémon of producing Shinies or Hybrids in a breeding.
♣This means that say if you wanted to buy a Mew, and there were already two Mews in existence in the shop, you would add 200k to the base price.
♠Edits are limited to accessories such as a bow or ribbon or harness, and cosmetic edits such as Gracie's docked tail.

The Saburo Region is made up of a small chain of three islands, known as Pristine Island, Rockfall Island, and Lucky Island. Though they are all part of the same chain, the climate and terrain from island to island is vastly different, allowing for a wide variety of Pokémon to be found in a rather small region.
Pristine Island
Pristine Island is the Northernmost island in the chain that makes up Saburo. With it's mountainous terrain and colder climate, it is home to many ice type Pokémon and those Pokémon who prefer higher elevations and colder temperatures. The island boasts coniferous forests inland, and a large sheltered harbor rife with trade ships coming and going from other regions.
Pristine Island currently has one Gym, run by the island's Guardian, Yoshirou. The Gym is currently not accessible due to an avalanche.
Rockfall Island
Rockfall Island is the Southernmost island in the chain, and the largest. With it's hot, dry climate and rocky terrain, it is home to many ground type and heat seeking Pokémon. The island is split into two halves, East and West, divided by a vast desert. There is very little in the way of large vegetation on the island, and most of the plant life that has been coaxed out of the rocky soil is the product of years of labor and farming on behalf of the inhabitants. You will mostly find succulents such as cacti, and short stiff grasses that are only suitable for grazing by certain Pokémon.
Rockfall Island currently has one Gym, run by the island's Guardian, Tarou. The Gym is currently closed while Tarou is doing research in the desert. Larch's Pokémon Research Lab and the Breeding Facilities are also located on Rockfall.
Lucky Island
Lucky Island is located between Pristine and Rockfall, and is the smallest of the three islands. Being of middling latitudes, Lucky has a moderate climate, with plenty of rainfall. Due to this, the island is very lush and overgrown with forests and grasses. The terrain is rather flat, with a few low lying hills towards the North and East. Many of the healing herbs and remedies that are sold on Rockfall and Pristine are produced on Lucky Island. Since the climate is so moderate, many Pokémon make this island their home, and despite it's small size there are a wide variety of species to be found flourishing in it's fields and forests.
Lucky Island, despite being small, has one Gym, run by the island's Guardian, Kichirou. Kichirou also runs the island's PokéCenter, seeing as the chain is too small to warrant a Nurse Joy, and so the Gym is often closed.

Well HI! I run the daycare and breeding center here. If you're looking to breed your Pokémon, then give me a shout and I'll take them off your hands and raise them for a while. I'm not sure how it happens, but it seems like when they're left alone for long enough, they produce eggs!
Cool, I know.
Anyway! I suppose you want information about the services I offer.
Breeding Two Pokémon
This is the usual way of doing things. You bring two Pokémon to the daycare and leave them for a while, and when they produce eggs, I let you know! You don't have to own both Pokémon, of course, Pokémon from different trainers get along just fine most of the time.
This service costs 10k total.
Breeding One Pokémon
Here at the daycare, I have my own Pokémon of course, a cute little Ditto! It helps me out when trainers can only provide one Pokémon but are really desperate to breed. The only drawback is that your Pokémon will only produce one egg.
This service costs 5k total.
Mystery Eggs
Since I'm in charge of the breeding facilities for the Professor's Pokémon Lab, it's not just you Trainers' Pokémon that I'm watching. Sometimes a Pokémon in the lab will produce an egg, and I won't have anywhere to keep it. When that happens, I'll put it up for adoption in the thread. I can't tell you for sure what'll be in it, but I can give you a hint.
This service is Free

As Pokémon grow and mature, some of them undergo peculiar physical metamorphoses known in the Pokémon world as 'evolution'.
Many Pokémon undergo evolution over time as a natural process of their growth, whereas other Pokémon only evolve if they are exposed to the radiation from certain types of stones, or if they are well taken care of and content.
Pokémon who are not interacted with very often will mature at a slower rate than a Pokémon who's Trainer plays or battles with it more often. Some Pokémon won't even mature at all if they aren't interacted with! So make sure you know what you're getting into before you decide which Pokémon you want to catch and train, or you might find yourself with more than you can handle.

If You're looking for an item to help you along with your Pokémon training, you've come to the right place! I run the PokéMart here, and I may not always have everything in stock, but you know sooner or later I'll get another shipment.
Please keep in mind that you can only buy an item if you have a Pokémon to use it on, and you can't buy an item if it's not in stock. To order an item, please PM the mule with what you would like to order. Once your order has been confirmed, you may send the trade.
Please allow for a few days for the item's effects to be seen on your Pokémon.
