Results

The results for the Grand Opening Flatsale is out. First, just a basic rundown on how we decided to randomise the list, so that you understand we made it as fair as possible.

For each Hyte, the list of applications is randomised at the List Randomiser of Random.org three times. The winner of each round is then put into a list of three, and then randomised one final time for the conclusive result.

Through this system, we have produced the winners :

Golden Retriever, now named Colton – Kuro Maata

Turkish Angora, now named Philomena – AnimeEyeshime

Green Iguana, now named Desiderio – Kakui

Congratulations to these three for both taking the time to apply and having the luck to top the list twice!

Please send the trade of 15k to LaBlue Belle. Once accepted and confirmed, they will be certed immediately.

For everyone else who have been supporting us throughout these three days and sending in loads of wonderful entries, please don't despair~! There will be more sales coming soon, and a Christmas event, and we will surely keep working with all the encouragement we've had since we set up shop. Thank you all very, very much~!!! heart

Please make sure you've read all the information on this page before applying!

. Flatsale Method .
♠ We will be accepting applications for three days - from 9pm PST on the 28th November 2007 to 9pm PST on the 30th November 2007
♠ At the end of the three days, we will pool all suitable applications for each pet, and pick a winner at random
♠ The winners will then be announced on the thread and contacted by PM within an hour after closing.

To submit your application, please PM me [LaBlue Belle] using the following template:

Application Template

Subject: Flatsale Application - [insert relevant Hyte here]
Message:
Name: [insert prospective name of Hyte]
Personality: [insert description of Hyte's personality here, based on the keyword given with them. The description can be as short or as long as you would prefer - it is just to make sure that its projected personality will not contradict its appearance.]

♠ You may apply for as many Hytes as you like, but with one application for each, and may only purchase one
♠ If you feel the need to, you may revise your application and resend it at any time before the deadline
♠ Please send each application separately - we only want one Hyte in the subject header!
♠ If you are applying for multiple Hytes but have a ranked preference, please indicate your preferences so that we may assign you your preferred Hyte if you are picked as the winner for more than one. Otherwise, we will randomise your assignation.
♠ For the Grand Opening Sales, you may participate in the auction even if you have been assigned a Hyte from the flatsale as we are still unsure of the customer base [and we said so in the beginning so we have to put it back sweatdrop ] - in the future, this might change.

THINGS TO NOTE

. About Naming .
♠ Allowed: Proper names from any culture | Most nouns | Heck, most words
♠ Disallowed: Chatspeak | l337 [in most cases] | Lame combination handles [e.g. LadiesMan217, number optional]
♠ Discouraged Culture-specific names unsuitable for cultural context of the Hyte | Overtly dubious fandom names

. About Co-ownership .
♠ Co-ownership is not encouraged, but allowed
♠ There is no guarantee we may be able to fit all your names onto the cert!
♠ HyTech is not liable in case of dispute between owners
♠ If the dispute cannot be settled, the Hyte may be rehomed judging on a case-by-case basis

. ABOUT PAYMENT .
♠ Please contact me [LaBlue Belle] with the trade of 15k within 24hours of our winning notification
♠ Please title the trade 'Payment for Flatsale - [insert relevant Hyte here]'
♠ For flatsales, we only take payment in pure gold - apologies for the inconvenience
♠ If there is no contact from you after 24 hours, we will give you a grace period of 12 hours to get in touch with us ASAP - if there is still no word, another winner will be randomly picked in your stead
♠ While payment is highly preferred upfront after winning [please refer to Instructions for details], a payment plan may be utilised, subject to approval on a case-by-case basis- 15k plan: 5k upfront, 5k every two weeks after [if you require a payment plan, please note this in your application]

. Hyte Collection .
♠ The Hyte will be certed and threaded after we receive your payment
♠ We will then PM you with the cert thread and the cert url
♠ Thereafter, we will PM you after every stage growth with the url of the relevant off-cert graphic

. TERMS AND CONDITIONS .

Checking-in - While HyTech does not require RP, we do require regular checking-in until the Hyte is fully mature. HyTech will inform owners via PM every time there is a stage progression - thus, checking-in periods are as such:
♠ One cert thread post [or PM] per stage growth
♠ One cert thread post [or PM] every two weeks for non-growth periods
♠ This is only necessary until the pet has reached the adult stage
♠ There is a grace period of a week to make the relevant post
♠ Growth will not commence for the next stage until contact is made
[*RP not necessary - any indication of acknowledgement will suffice]
The reason why we require checking in is so we can make sure of contact in time for the outfit customisation of the adult stage. HyTech is usually quite forgiving for up to approximately half a year, but if no contact is forthcoming and everything falls into a state of impending extinction, don't be too surprised if Social Services comes around and decides to rehome one's Hyte…

Return Policy - If the owner tires of the pet, HyTech will accept a return and rehome the pet at reduced prices. There will be a partial refund of 1k to 5k depending on stage progression in such a case. While we do not perform exchanges, a previous owner may still purchase other pets in the future.

Speaking in Terms of Reality - While the owner owns the character of the pet and may display the images and certs at will, the art and character design itself is still property of HyTech, and must be credited as such. The artist reserves the right to display or use the artwork and pursue other avenues with the design. All better-sized images are accompanied by a background logo for our image protection - owners may request unmarked versions for the cert threads. Thank you for your understanding!

Before you apply for a Hyte, you really should read all the information in our Shop Thread. Just in case, though, here's a crash course to cover the basics and the most important bits you need to know!

. About the Pets .
♠ 5-stages [RP +1] with unique lineart for each pet past protoform cylinder
♠ Most Hytes take an average of about 3 months to fully mature [not including RP +1]
♠ All pets are breedable - please refer to Shop Thread for details
♠ Roleplaying is not required, only checking-in till Adult stage - please refer to Terms and Conditions for details

. About Roleplaying .
♠ Roleplaying is entirely optional
♠ Each pet will come with a cert thread that can be used as an RP journal
♠ RP incentive: extra stage - please refer to Showroom for details
♠ As there is no strict RP storyline, HyTech RP is a casual affair with emphasis on character interaction, particularly among pets.
Through RP, one may be able to influence the final appearance of the Hyte before it reaches the adult stage.

. FAQ .

Why are there so little pets for sale?
We do apologise! As all art for all stages past the Protoform Cylinder are unique, 5 pets in total per batch is all that the artist and colourist can handle.

Why not hire more artists and colourists?
As we would like the keep the aesthete of the shop consistent for maximum believability, we are not looking to do that. So sorry for the trouble!

Why is the sale going on for so long?
Most of the staff live in a funny timezone, so the extended time is for other people who live in a funny timezone like us.

When is the next time I can get one of these?
For the immediate future, we will have a Christmas Event with a special festive Hyte, and our next batch of sales is tentatively dated for mid-January 2008. After that, our events should run quarterly:
Jan-Mar - Lab Batch Sales | Apr-Jun - Breeding with Auctions | Jul-Sept - Lab Batch Sales | Oct-Dec - Breeding with Auctions
…with possibly some special events interspersed.

Why is there a non-Gaia url in the cert?
In the event that the cert cannot be linked back to our shop, such as randomised signatures, a passerby wishing to visit our shop can access the thread through a link on hytech.silentragedy.net [as the actual shop url is too long to fit on the cert]

If I get a Hyte from the flatsale, and later win one of the auctions, will I be able to give one away?
Although we don't encourage putting in entries if you don't intend to keep them, since it was our decision to allow participation in both events, yes, you may return the flatsale Hyte you were assigned if you win an auction Hyte. We will issue a refund and contact the next randomly picked applicant. Please do note that you must return the Hyte to us, and not simply give it away to a person of your choice.

What if my application is too long?
There's no such thing as an application that's too long! We gather around the monitor with mugs of hot cocoa giggling over applications so the longer it is the more there is for us to read! ...Okay, we don't gather around the monitor with mugs of hot cocoa giggling over applications, but we really enjoy them and the rest is true - so make your description as long as you'd like! We appreciate all the thought you've put into them, after all!

...Okay, so what if my application is too short?
There's no such thing as an application that's too short either. XD Your writing skills won't be taken into account, so it's not in any way a disadvantage to keep it short, sweet, and to the point!
